Personality Conman pretends to help people, but becomes a better person in the process.
They fake being kind and generous in order to take advantage of people. But in the process, they find themselves genuinely invested in their mark's well-being. And ends up becoming a genuinely better in the process.
1). Klaus:
Jesper is sent by his rich father to a far-north island. And told he will be disowned if he does not get the townsfolk there to adopt the postal service. Feigning charity, Jesper gets a local man to donate his toys to any kid that writes a letter asking for one. That way, it seems like the whole town has started using the postal service his father runs.
Jesper makes an offhand comment about only "good children" getting toys. So, the kids start doing good deeds and set off a series of events squashing the town's long-held blood feud. And Jesper ends up genuinely invested in making everyone happy.
2). Mob Psycho 100:
Reigen is a fake psychic. Soon after starting his business, he comes across a kid with genuine psychic powers. Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama is terrified of his own abilities so he leaps at the opportunity to be "mentored." Reigen calls Mob if his clients turn out to be actually haunted. He is paid sub-minimum wage for his time.
But Reigen gives Mob genuinely good advice that keeps the (potentially city-destroying) esper humble and well-adjusted. Unlike of the villains, who try to use their psychic powers to take over the world. He even admits his lies to Mob at the end of the series.
3). All Dogs Go to Heaven:
Charlie takes advantage of an orphan who can talk to different animal species. Mostly to cheat at gambling. But he ends up selflessly sacrificing himself for her.

Totally lost it on DoorDash driver and filed police report
I ordered DoorDash last night at about 9:30 PM. My order got picked up almost immediately and they were on the way to my apartment . The restaurant was 1 mile away and I tipped five dollars on a $15 order which I think is appropriate. let me preface this by saying I don’t usually order DoorDash as I am a college student with a vehicle, so buying groceries or picking up my own food is cheaper. But I had worked for 12 hours and had many assignments to complete leaving me with no time.
My DoorDash driver was not the person assigned on the account which usually doesn’t bother me too much as long as my food is OK. This was not the case.
He drove around in circles in a parking lot for 20 mins. After 15 minutes of begging this driver to unassign me and receiving no response, he decided to park on the other side of campus. EAT MY FOOD as I am texting him, then WALKED 5-7 blocks with nothing in the bag. I immediately thought it was suspicious when he came up in a hurry, shoved the bag in my arm and walked off immediately.
It took me 10 seconds to check the bag to notice that there was no seal, the smaller bag that holds the food inside tge bigger bag was ripped open, half my fries were gone, and no burger in sight.
This next part might make me sound like a complete psycho, but I’m at a point where I don’t care and I am over it with these DoorDash drivers.
I chased the man down the street, barefoot and confronted him about eating my food. Video recorded the interaction and cussed his ass clean out for being a thief. His explanation was that there was construction, and that my food probably “fell out the bag”. Then it changed to “idk what happened to your food its really dark out here” I was having none of it and told him to shut the fuck up, give me my money back or be prepared for cops to be involved.
Of course he continued walking and at this point, I knew he was parked very far. I let him know that I would be following him to his vehicle to get his license plate to which he snarkly responded with “welp, I parked really far” I said I didn’t give a shit, he responded with “like really really far 😂”
I usually don’t involve cops in situation like this, but I had been through this situation once before a few months ago. And at this point, theft is theft. DoorDash’s shitty customer service refused to give me my refund and instead gave me store credit after 5 hours of basically begging ( my food was stolen and I was at no fault whatsoever). Cops were called, reports were filed. Refunds were surprisingly given. Still Fuck you doordash
I really wish I could post a picture of this good for nothing driver but almost positive that’s against some type of rule.
EDIT: I will not be responding to the thieves supporting this dasher as you guys are clearly scumbags as well, as for all the other normal & honest people, I am currently working on turning the video to a link to dm to those who requested !!

Discussion Alternate PvE Proposal: Temporary Ceasefire map condition (see caption for details and reasoning)
THE IDEA
Create a Temporary Ceasefire major map condition. Put it in the rotation with other major map events. Keep the loot super limited: no items beyond blue (rare) quality. Increase the arc presence. You can do your quests and hunt arc, but you can't gain a big power advantage.
THE REASONING
Why this, instead of an always-available PvE mode? Low-risk raiding should be a reprieve; a small treat. Not the standard.
If you remove most of the risk, you remove most of the reward. The danger is the whole point in a game like this.
Without danger, we lose lose the serendipity. You don't need to make friends or find out who people are and what they're up to. You don't have the little moments like accidentally shooting someone and then trying to make it up to them. Or the dilemma of deciding whether to defib a stranger who could be an adversary.
PvE also removes a lot of hard and soft gaming skills. I don't have to mind my aim in order to stay friendly. I don't have to say "Hey I'm friendly, what's up dude." There's no more flashlight friend-or-foe indicator. The sound of a powerful weapon no longer gets my hackles up. I don't need to listen for footsteps.
Lastly, open PvE could wreck the economy. You shouldn't be able to free-farm materials.
Adaptive matchmaking works. If you've earned your way deep into the friendly ranks, you can play all evening without getting shot at. This should suffice for most dads and uncles. But the risk is always there in the back of your mind.
And for those that need a boost now and then, we have a rotating Temporary Ceasefire map condition.

UPDATE: AITA for refusing to buy a new dress after the bride changed the color code 12 days before her wedding?
I wanted to give everyone an update because things have gotten a little more complicated.
After reading the comments, I decided to reach out to Danielle one last time. I genuinely didn't want to lose a friendship over a dress.
I explained that I wasn't trying to disrespect her wedding or ruin her pictures. I reminded her that I'd bought the peach dress after she personally approved it, and that I'd already spent $260 on the hotel, plus my flight and her wedding gift.
I even told her I'd be happy to borrow something in sage or dusty blue if I could find it.
Unfortunately, her response really hurt me.
She said she appreciated me trying, but that she was disappointed I was making such a big deal out of spending a little extra money for her special day.
That honestly made me feel terrible.
I'm not struggling because I don't care about her. I'm struggling because I have bills to pay, and another $120 isn't a small amount of money to me.
What upset me most was realizing that I'd spent so much time worrying about hurting her feelings that I hadn't really considered my own.
I finally told her that I love her and genuinely want her wedding to be beautiful, but I can't justify buying another dress at the last minute.
I said I'd completely understand if she'd rather I didn't attend.
She hasn't responded yet.
I'm honestly heartbroken because I was looking forward to celebrating with someone who used to be such an important part of my life.
I never imagined that a dress she originally approved would make me question whether I'm even welcome at her wedding.
For now, I'm not buying another dress. If that means I can't attend, I'll have to accept it.
Thank you to everyone who reminded me that having financial boundaries doesn't mean I don't care about my friend.
tl;dr: I tried talking to the bride again and even offered to borrow a dress in the new colors. She still thinks I'm making a big deal over $120. I explained my financial situation and told her I'd understand if she didn't want me there. She hasn't responded, and I'm honestly hurt.

In the Weeds Mode Got fired this morning. No more Island Oasis™️©️®️.
It is the nature of this industry that we are subject to petty tyrants who use and abuse workplace policy as it suits them. It is a recurring pattern at my (now former) job that loyal and hardworking employees are either 1) alienated into quitting or 2) discarded after manipulation of the "coaching ladder". I'm sure this will be a recognizable situation to many others in this sub.
It is the nature of artisanal pastry that you'll often be managed by someone who is used to pinching pennies at a Village Inn™️©️®️, and they'll decide that you and your products are just too expensive for their bottom line. I hope our guests enjoy the frozen product they're about to stock.
One month shy of my two-year anniversary at this company, I was termed for "job abandonment," because I left early yesterday. I previously had an agreement with my managers that I could leave when my work was finished for the day, even if it was before my scheduled out time. I guess someone decided that they wanted to get rid of me, and this was the mechanism they chose to carry that out. (Last week I got written up for something I did a month ago, which was the point where I started getting weird vibes.)
Anyone want to hire me? You've seen my resume. I'm in the Omaha area. I'm a really good pastry chef, but I'm not too proud to do something else. I have resting bitch face and an intimidating aura, but I promise I'm nice.
