Interesting AI usage
I ordered some tacos and received this from the dasher š«„. It honestly caught me off guard and didnāt even know how to respond.

Ordered 3 things today, including a pizza. The dasher dropped it off, and only the fries were in the bag. No onion rings - No pizza.
You can clearly see that there was no pizza dropped off either in the photo.
DD told me to contact the driver, driver did not speak any English so it was useless.
They denied my claim saying my order āis not eligible for compensationā. I escalated it, they told me it takes 24 hours. Within 10 minutes, another notification came through and claimed my order was not eligible for a refund.
Do I keep fighting? Has anybody has luck filling a charge back??

For the record, I have had a DashPass subscription for 4 years with no issues with DoorDash support until recently.
The restaurants around here aren't perfect. More often than not, they forget something in our family's order. The past 2 times that I used the automated "Help" for something that the restaurant forgot, I was denied a refund.
I admit I became the male equivalent to a Karen and escalated the issue and kept getting the same answer. "Our policy has determined that your issue doesn't qualify for a refund at this time."
I kept escalating and was emailed a copy of the policy. I couldn't find a reason for the refusal. I kept escalating and was finally told that my account had been issued too many credits recently and that was the reason.
So, I'm being punished for the restaurant's mistake?
Fuck that. DoorDash will never see another penny from me.

So my order was missing an ingredient, so I went through the order help steps and found some really shady business practices. I wasn't happy about the first $1.94, so I tried again and it went up to $2.58, then again to $2.62, and finally to $5.24. I'm way more upset now about DoorDash themselves than I am about my order being messed up.
I think I'll just be ordering straight from the restaurants from now on. I doubt the other food delivery apps are any better.

Using AI to answer my question š Which didn't answer what I actually asked by the way
Another rep after this said, "You can search on Google, since I don't have any information about that."
Just thought this was interesting

I am a DD driver who also uses the customer app to order myself food for pickup. On my way home last week, I ordered from Firehouse subs, a B1G1 free offer. When I got there, there was only 1 sandwich. When I asked the lady where the other sandwich was, she said it was a DD problem and I would have to contact them. I contacted customer support and was told they could see my order and I should have 2 sandwiches. They put me on hold to call the store. When they came back, they apologized but said they couldn't give me a refund or another sandwich. They admit I should have gotten one but blamed the store. Now I see why customers complain all the time.

I typically tip $4-$5 on any order. I live in a small town and you can drive from 1 end of town to the other end in 7 minutes so the dashers don't have a long commute. Would you consider this an acceptable tip amount?

When you make an order please understand that you can choose the store you want to order from so your items can get to you quicker and Dasherās donāt have to driver around the state, country, island, etc. to deliver a tooth brush!!! Just click the address when you choose a store next to the distant and you can choose the storeš

I ordered some drinks from a grocery store and my dasher had each item checked off as found within minutes of getting to the store. A while after I got the notification they were checking out, I got a message saying the order was taking a while. I asked if they were not finding something and they responded that āstore policy change on the phone with DoorDashā
Itās been almost 30 min of him just wandering around the store?

Title explains it all. I got an order that I said to leave at the front of my appartment complex. 2 minutes later I go downstairs to grab it. It's not in the place they told me it was. I assume it was stolen. Try to file for missing order, refund not eligible.
Holy shit, not even 3 minutes passed and my entire order isn't there and they're telling me "just suck it up" what was the point of me getting the yearly dash pass at that point???! Just gonna take my money anyways?

Not my story, but my momās and it literally just happened as of this posting. Orders a $250+ (with an over $25 tip) business order (theyāre contractually obligated to order their food through DoorDash), and the first dude texts that he canāt take the order ⦠because heās on a skateboard. Sure, just cancel then, right? āI canāt cancel, thatāll hurt my metrics! You cancel.ā
Support bans the guy and gets us a new lady, who does pick up the food. But she drops it off in a parking lot down the damn street and promptly ghosts my mom about it. She works virtually, in a different state, and her boss that sheās ordering for is too busy to go searching through town. Then the support lady we get about this one is bitchy and condescending, acting like itās our fault that their dashers are incompetent, and she had to call support with a different phone to get someone else to go make the first lady actually fix the damn order. Now food is an hour and a half late, and weāll see how the third dasher does
Update: third dasher doesnāt speak English and doesnāt understand the instructions that say āplease walk inside and drop it off at room 150, just down the hall. No one is available to come outside and get it from you.ā Support is getting involved again and attempting to translate for the Dasher

My daughter ordered herself a nice meal as a treat. Delivery instructions are descriptive so you can navigate to the apartment. Apartment numbers are posted clearly. We even describe the doormat. Seriously. Leave no doubt! Dasher delivers to the wrong apartment. Hey it happens. Then she ghosts my daughter who is trying to figure out where she dropped the order so I - her caregiver - can go grab it. That's what isn't cool. Own your shit and help solve the problem you made.
My daughter even told her, "I'm going through chemo and I'm not mad at you, I just need information so my caregiver can get my food where you left it." Still nothing.
I did find the food and my daughter did report the dasher. I'm just so disappointed in the lack of maturity and accountability of the driver. This is the job. Have some pride in it to do your best, at least. And don't fuck over my kid!
FYI this was her favorite Italian restaurant so while it was very local to us, it still takes a chunk of time to be ready for delivery. Reordering wasn't going to be possible.

On Friday I had a driver steal my food and had to battle it out with the chat for over an hour in order to get a refund and replacement order at the same cost - new order with the same exact food cost me $8 moreā¦
Today, some idiot driver gave me a completely different order than what I ordered. Customer service chat again refused to help me out, even management said they wouldnāt help me because of my order issue history, which was only Fridays order⦠New replacement cost me $10 more, I event sent these idiots screenshots of everything.
About to file a chargeback on my credit card and cancel dash pass. Time to go to Grubhub or something else.

I signed up for DD about two weeks ago, thinking itād be an easy way to make some extra pocket change. No real issues so far, but I also havenāt dashed in almost a week due to work travel.
Over the last two days, Iāve gotten multiple phone calls trying to get me back on the road. During one, I explained I was traveling for work. The woman said, āSafe travels,ā and let me hang up. A few hours later, I got another call.
On the last call this morning, the woman on the line tried to keep me on the phone to discuss what would get me dashing again. I explained I couldnāt continue the current convo due to being in a remote work meeting when she called, but she still kept pushing.
Now Iāve gotten this text too. Is DoorDash always this aggressive about getting you back on the road?

Tried to change email address on my account, simple change. Unable to do online. Once I finally was able to find a link for chat.... Chat got me AI bots that claimed to be live agents and unable to help. Got a call after I finally disconnected the chat. No sympathy or understanding. 30 minutes for what should be a 2 minute transaction and no resolution Deleted the app. Never again.
