the rest of the world outside of the mindless maga cult understands how stupid and incompetent trump is..putin included.

169

u/boersc 8h ago

Not stupid, ruthless. He wants the oil prices down, but can't via Iran, so he wants to give free reign to Russia. He doesn't care about Ukraine, he cares about midterms.

230

u/ness_monster 7h ago

It is stupid. The whole Iran conflict is stupid and there's no way to undo it. There's no winning it either without a major resource investment. Buying essentially less than a days worth of diesel from Russia, whom is importing it from Iran is beyond stupid. Nothing he does is ruthless or calculating, its dumb.

Oil prices are not coming down by midterms regardless of what he does. Even if the Iran conflict was resolved tomorrow, oil companies still have to pay back the government via resuppling the strategic oil reserves. So, prices will remain high.

If he cared at all about any elections he wouldn't have done 90% of the things he has. Its one fuck up after another followed by quagmires of bullshit.

50

u/mOdQuArK 7h ago

there's no way to undo it.

Well, not without groveling to Iran & admitting to fault in starting the conflict in the first place, which are both things that Trump will never, ever do no matter what.

50

u/ness_monster 7h ago

Unfortunately even if trumps entire government was replaced with dems(which i realize is more or less impossible), that still wouldn't happen.

And if it did, it likely means Iran's control of hormuz will be solidified and that will also disrupt markets.

41

u/mOdQuArK 6h ago

Iran has expressed a willingness to negotiate with anyone who isn't Trump or a Trump lackey. They might end up with the power to charge tolls for everyone passing through the Strait, but that would still increase the supply of oil far more at less cost than what is barely dribbling through right now. That won't happen as long as Trump is in charge of course.

No, it's far more stupidity than ruthlessness.

AFAIK, Russia is nearly a net importer of diesel/oil. Trump faceplanting while he attempts to suck Putin's weasel cock for gas money will only reduce the cost of diesel by like 10 cents. Russia doesn't have nearly enough of the stuff to move the needle meaningfully.

u/Kichigai 5h ago

He doesn't care about Ukraine, he cares about midterms.

Ding ding ding. But I think it's less about actually driving down oil prices (I think he knows Russia can't offset the losses in Hormuz), and more about shifting the blame for high prices to Ukraine from the war in Iran, which Americans blame on him, personally, and the Republican party for not trying to reign him in.

I think he believes we are honestly so stupid and gullible that we'll fall for it if he says it. Remember how many other times he tried to deny things we could see with our own damn eyes? Like the weather map with the Sharpie marks on it?

Not stupid, ruthless.

Both can be true.

4

u/stripedvitamin 5h ago edited 3h ago

Not ruthless, totally and completely compromised. This war is happening because Netanyahu and Putin own that orange bitch boy. Trump buying diesel from Russia isn't just against the law passed in 2022, it's only because he is totally compromised. A puppet. There's good reason Trump has never in his miserable existence said a bad word about Putin. He has even gone so far as to say he trusts Putin more than American intelligence. If that isn't him being Putins bitch then he is the dumbest motherfucker in world history.

196

u/NickCostanza 8h ago

Yes because of the cruelty in which they (Trump and Elon) have handled this. Not informing Ukraine of incoming missiles has caused the deaths of several and power outages for hundreds of thousands. Deranged levels of evil.

61

u/DJ3nsign 7h ago

Buddy, for these people, the cruelty is the fucking point

Evil is not strong enough a word to describe them. In fact, I don't think the english language has something to identify these types of devolved sub-species human.

“We” might have known. However, plenty of others still don’t believe he’s fucking over everyone despite all evidence to the contrary. Ukraine was also still receiving material and intelligence support until now when America is “boldly” (treasonously?) extending an olive branch to the enemy by buying their oil and calling for the removal of the President of the country that enemy is invading. So yes, a betrayal.

6

u/SST_2_0 5h ago

It's why i have such disdain for the non voting left. They all knew, they all still yelled Biden and Kamala bad and they sat out to punish the DNC, not to save anyone or stop any genocide.

They have done so for decades and now ew all suffer from the two most self righteous groups joining together to get Trump elected again.

I just want no more GOP, can we please start there instead of dem eating dem while the right still is 50 percent of congress and can keep being obstructionist?

You have to trust someone in order to feel betrayed.

24

u/MattinglyBaseball 7h ago

He trusted America because America has no reason to support an enemy state like Russia. He feels betrayed because America elected a President that was aided by the enemy and is now aiding that enemy in return out in the open. (They were already aiding them in more quiet ways like canceling the counter offensive cyber task force against Russia. Removing the task force focused on ensuring Russian sanctions are upheld. Taking Russian oligarchs money for son’s wedding. Increasing oil prices, etc.)

Everyone who has at least two brain cells is following these directions for obvious reasons.

We all know though that Trump was never the brightest, so he just doesn't like the idea of all that underage porn to be leaked to the public.

It's as easy as it gets.

We all have our responsibility in the coming weeks to make some changes. I'll be doing my part

36

u/phigo50 6h ago

The thing is, and I hope I'm wrong about this but I've seen it from 2 sources, even if the Democrats take control of the House and the Senate, they can only effectively rein him in domestically - he'll still be able to be a cunt internationally, maybe even more so.

13

u/CoderJoe1 6h ago

But closer to impeachment

13

u/phigo50 4h ago

Impeachment won't mean anything because Democrats won't ever win enough of the Senate to convict him. He might be impeached several times but it'll never go further and he'll be able to shout about how he was exonerated and blah blah blah every time.

I genuinely believe he's the delivery boy and handing all intel the US has on Ukraine's military to Putin directly.

28

u/DerpsAndRags 6h ago

Ol' Baby Hands McRapist spent way too much time around Moscow and the Miss Universe pageants. I'm convinced that Putin has dirt on him and Meliana is a handler. Yes, it's a tin-foil hat theory, but if something like that came to light, would anyone really be shocked?

26

u/Draco-REX 6h ago

I'm worried it's worse than that. I'm worried it's just a matter of hero-worship on Trump's part and he's too fucking stupid to realize Putin is leading him around by his nose.

I truly believe that Trump has the emotional development level of a toddler.

9

u/DerpsAndRags 6h ago

That, and he sees nothing beyond transaction.

6

u/Draco-REX 6h ago

Toddlers are like that. They focus on what benefits them, and what they can gain for themselves, and don't consider the consequences. A sociopath will consider the repercussions.

I'd be surprised by Melania. She doesn't seem that way. The rest though is pretty likely.

My personal theory is it's less Putin having dirt on Trump so much as Trump partnering with the Russians back when the KGB flew him to Moscow in 1982 along the lines of the Russians saying we'll help you be president one day and him saying sure we'll partner up. He ran his first political ads slagging NATO immediately after that.

I mean every dollar Trump gives to Putin goes directly to the russian side of the battlefield. I don’t think it’s a secret anymore that Trump wants Russia to continue its war against Ukraine and further European countries afterwards. Destabilizing Europe and USA‘s closest allies has been of high priority on Trump‘s agenda so far.

9

u/dontshoveit 5h ago

He's Putin's puppet. It's extremely obvious and his wife is his Russian handler.

5

u/Lord_Abort 3h ago

And aids Iran. Our tax dollars support strikes on American service members, civilians overseas, and increases domestic prices.

315

u/FunctionalGray 8h ago

Hopefully this feeling of betrayal extends to the rest of our historically traditional allies as well -- and that their officials grow some balls and both voice their opinions and start dialogues about how to bypass the United States in trade and other cooperative efforts.

If the entirety of the US is made to suffer due to this guy, and the international voice is strong and united about how f-upped all of this is - and who EXACTLY, by name is to blame, it will eventually break through the firewalls the thicker skulled individuals in this country have surrounded themselves with.

But they need to be made to suffer. As all of us do...so that we have no other choice but to repudiate him.

118

u/Elukka 8h ago

Saudi-Arabia is now looking towards Pakistan and Turkey for their security concerns. This is kind of unbelievable how badly Trump dropped the ball.

58

u/Iankill 7h ago

Yeah this is what people don't get about Iran. Iran couldn't hit the US but it sure as shit could hit US allies and then when you don't protect your allies and cause their hardship do you want to remain allies with them

Trump: Those Venesuela guys keep fucking with the oil prices. Lets bully them out of existance. Holy shit that was easy. Lets do the same with Iran. They have been a pain too right? Ah shit that didnt work. Now the people are mad about gas prices. Whats the easiest way to fix this. Hey Putin!

Putin: HaHa all is going to plan glorious Russia will return to glory. Wait what? They are doing what? Everything fine. Nothing to see here nothing to see here. Hey world cheap crude. We have long lines at gas station. Fix please. Need take over world.

Xi: These idiots. Ill just keep investing in infrustructure and bribing the poor. We will make out move after everything is dust.

US won't be a superpower in future. Economy and military and allies make a country a superpower. US allies will soon be North Korea and Russia. EU will keep trading minimum with US, all dependencies will be removed, military bases will be removed because they're basically Russian bases under US flag. When US loses their soft power and economy takes a hit then they will be just a normal country. China is the one which gains from all of this and will be the most powerful country in future.

Genuinely asking, are there no protests going on in America right now about the state of your country? I am seeing article after article of how Trump is doing this and that but it seems like the citizens are just apathetic to it now?

121

u/Ntroepy 7h ago

The biggest reason came from Trump’s former chief strategist when he said:

“The Democrats don't matter. The real opposition is the media. And the way to deal with them is to flood the zone with shit.”

That strategy wasn't really to persuade the public, but to overwhelm the media and political opposition with so much information, controversy, and chaos that they couldn't effectively respond.

And it’s been brilliantly effective. By the time people organize an ICE protest, Trump has moved on to abducting Venezuela’s president, bombing Iran, or some new outrage. All while massively enriching himself. It’s Bannon’s “flood the zone with shit” strategy in action. How do you sustain public outrage when nobody can even keep track of what we’re supposed to be protesting?

43

u/Master_Bayters 6h ago

Bannon will be studied for years. He is Trump Goebbels, the one that allows a person like Trump to thrive. Flood the zone with sht and muzzle velocity are the most effective strategy for lying, unethical people in the modern social media landscape. There's a special place in hell for him.

18

u/krenoten 6h ago edited 5h ago

He just copied a bunch of Russian shit. Adam Curtis made a documentary about this Soviet strategy and the connection between Trump and Russia shortly before Trump's first election in his documentary HyperNormalization.

Wikipedia article on the movie describes the term that it is named after as having this origin:

The word hypernormalisation was coined by Alexei Yurchak, a professor of anthropology who was born in Leningrad and later went to teach at the University of California, Berkeley. He introduced the word in his book Everything Was Forever, Until It Was No More: The Last Soviet Generation (2006), which describes paradoxes of Soviet life during the 1970s and 1980s.\3])\4]) He says everyone in the Soviet Union knew the system was failing, but no one could imagine any alternative to the status quo, and politicians and citizens alike were resigned to maintaining the pretense of a functioning society.\5]) Over time, the mass delusion became a self-fulfilling prophecy, with everyone accepting it as the new norm rather than pretend, an effect Yurchak termed hypernormalisation.\6]) It has since gained further resonance in the social media era in 2025 in the U.S.

15

u/Ntroepy 6h ago

Exactly - Trump learns from the best.

He also learned “The Big Lie” from Putin where you repeat an obvious falsehood that all party members must publicly support as a litmus test. Like winning the 2020 election.

It’s crushed Republican Party dissent as ANY criticism or question of anything the president says is met with vengeful wrath - often by their own constituents.

Nationwide "No Kings" protests about every six months. Trump uses a tidal wave approach to his crimes. His crimes come daily and that's hard to protest one-for-one. Also, protests don't seem to affect his voter base of fools, cowards, and cronies, and they are the root cause of this phenomenon. The only people who absorb the message of a protest are people who already believe the message.

28

u/jbFanClubPresident 7h ago

Exactly. His base is unshakable. There have been many protests against him over the years but they don’t seem to accomplish anything.

23

u/sonnyarmo 7h ago

It’s gotten really bad. Almost every single MAGA member left has their self-image, their ego, their community, and their entire sense of self deeply embedded within Trump. Even when faced with irrefutable evidence of Trump’s corruption and crimes, they will just bring up Biden to avoid the topic.

Claimed it was an illegal raid THEY PROVIDED A WARRANT.

Then claimed it was a waste of time there WAS NOTHING TO FIND but they found something.

Then he said there was nothing incriminating THEY FOUND SOMETHING INCRIMINATING.

He said they planted evidence THEY RELEASED PHOTOS OF HIM REMOVING THE STOLEN DOCUMENTS FROM RHW WHITE HOUSE.

He said he had the right to take the items RECORDS DEPARTMENT SHOWED HE DID NOT.

Claimed there was nothing confidential and they were stored correctly THEY WERE NEXT TO A TOILER ANYONE STAYING COULD ACCESS AND FULL OF CLASSIFIED INFORMATION.

Claims it's fine he never showed anyone AUDIO TAOE RELEASED OF HIM SHOWING IRAN ATTACK PLANS TO REPORTERS.

He's walking America off a cliff this will take years to recover from

29

u/DrMisterNobody 8h ago

Theres flaws in our system that have been exposed, everyone is hoping the midterms will turn the tide. Right now the people can stop him are mostly on his side.

People are wary of doing anything say on the level of a french protest because he's mused about martial law and using the insurrection act. It's a "don't give them a reason" type rule thats been in place for protests so far. There's genuine concern about martial law and cancelled elections.

I am Canadian, I know how to fly drones now. (Started 4 years ago). My buddy frank knows how to fly drones now. His dad learned it as well. My room mate learned how to fly drones. Everybody at our RC club also start doing drones. I got 5 x 5 inch drones now and 3 x 7 inch drones. Some of my friends are farmers and they have money. I know a farmer that has been buying up those giant drones they use for crop spraying. Especially DJI, when they stop working and it's to expensive to ship em back for repair or when DJI does not want to service them. He buys non working giant drones and repairs them with his own hardware. He showed me a basement in his barn he build with 40 of these in.

Anyways, not everybody has been sleeping.

When the US finally moves it's little green man in to Alberta, in to Calgary and Edmonton they will not get in to many arguments with Canadians. The time of talking is over. Nazis only understand the language of violence. If Ukraine can hold it self against a nuclear power run by a madman then Canada will hold it self against a nuclear power run by a madman with silly hair.

There are small protests all over every day, and record breaking large ones every six months or so.

You don't hear about these because many media establishment have decided they're not news. One reason they don't get covered is that if you annoy the orange Jesus you lose media access. And whatever nonsense Trump says gets more clicks than protests against him, so that's who they decide to cover.

It's an older reference, but it shows the trend best

https://wagingnonviolence.org/2025/03/resistance-alive-well-us/

Edit: "but why aren't you doing more!"

I see videos in my feeds of people still blocking ICE with cars, getting into scuffles, taking out flock cameras, etc... Every day. Ice has become a bit more decentralized in its enforcement which means counter protest activities are also smaller and decentralized. They're happening if you know where to look.

u/Buntschatten 7h ago

Right before an election seems like the best time to organise protests to motivate people to vote.

Someone else should do it
Not my problem

Because the general public isn’t fired up in controversy like Reddit generally is. It’s a bubble in here that doesn’t represent the real vibe of the country.

There are always protests throughout our country. We haven't had a collectively massive one for a few months now, but everyday in these cities there are protests. Not to mention, the upcoming midterms look absolutely atrocious for Republicans. We can't count on it, but it looks like people are ready to vote out this Republican party.

7

u/boersc 8h ago

I'm fully expecting half the country thinking it's a done deal, and don't go to vote. Thus would hand the result to Republicans after all.

18

u/Different-Cloud-842 8h ago

Never act under the assumption that Americans will do the right thing. Its up to the rest of us to eliminate our reliance on the us. This should have happened years ago but it is never too late to start. Trump did not arrive out of a vacuum, he is the logical result of the mentality the us and the people living there has had for decades. We have to address our own apathy in our acceptance of this.

Also the result of this upcoming election will not change anything, even if the opposition party gets all the seats they will not do enough to hinder Trump. The need to uphold the "dignity" of the system is like a religion to them. I sincerely hope I am wrong but I lost hope in the ability of the american people to do what is right a long time ago.

7

u/DWHQ 7h ago

Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing, after they have exhausted all other possibilities.

Ukraine is just the latest in a long string of betrayals.

Why does everyone trust Trump? Like, look at his track record. He’s a grifting piece of shit.

8

u/InclinationCompass 6h ago

Cult behavior

6

u/made_me_a_moron 6h ago

Who? Who trusts Trump?

7

u/ImOutWanderingAround 6h ago

The 35% just don’t care because at least it’s not a Democrat, unless it negatively impacts them personally. Even then, there are those who still don’t care. Cognitive dissonance everywhere.

That means Ukraine no longer needs to honor any agreement with the US when it comes to restrictions. A country with nothing to lose is most dangerous

23

u/reuben_iv 8h ago edited 7h ago

We all do, but what are congress doing? Where are all the 'checkd and balances'? This can't all be trump surely

16

u/Charybdis150 7h ago

Checks and balances only work if the checking body actually wants to rein in the other branches. That’s kind of why midterm elections for Congress are such a big deal.

22

u/Exciting-Record8101 8h ago

The US public that liked Trump so well they re-elected him, also made sure to vote for a Congress that would support everything he does.

The problem isn't the politicians, it's the people that vote for them.

Shutting off Starlink for the Ukrainians was extremely telling. We are actively supporting Russia to win the war.

9

u/Used_Bong 8h ago

He should have known with all certainty that this was going to happen. Potus word is worthless

9

u/Appropriate-Pear2830 6h ago

Ukraine today, Taiwan tomorrow.

43

u/bcboy66 8h ago

Indeed. It is almost like the USA is a Russian ally.

13

u/fluffy_doughnut 8h ago

Because it is

17

u/FryingdutchpaN 8h ago

Asset. The word is asset.

6

u/ShadowPostr 8h ago

I think ally stops short. When they speak about Putin-Trump arguing about who hangs up first, that sounds like BFF territory. Asset is far too limiting and cold. Ally just doesn't do it justice.

1.5 years of Zelenskyy's calm responses to Trump's betrayal led to nothing. I think it's enough

u/USSSLostTexter 3h ago

because he WAS betrayed. Fuckin' Don the Con is not only ruining our monetary credit, he's ruining our good will credit with all nations. Who is EVER going to trust the US again after this fuck stain exits office?

8

u/rainman_104 3h ago

Unfortunately I can see the next president trying to mend bridges and countries cautiously reopening relationships, but I don't think they're giving the farm to the USA either.

We all feel betrayed, he is not alone. Orange fuck is ruining the world

7

Not a feeling. A fact.

6

u/jediPlainswalker 6h ago

Well yea it was a total backstabbing

6

Everyone feels betrayed by trump and Americans. This is not a new feeling.

I'm still waiting for Americans to go out to the streets and protest 24/7. But they are all cowards. All of them.

5

u/TheShepardOfficial 8h ago

Who will betray who next. Putin betrays trump or trump betrays Putin. Probably the first.

6

u/HoverPopper 8h ago

The Manchurian candidate wasn’t supposed to be an instruction manual.

5

u/SpartanKane 8h ago

As he should. But he should also be unsurprised. Everyone with a brain knew Trump was compromised by Russia.

6

u/Budget_Most9407 8h ago

Blaming Ukrainian strikes on refineries for rising fuel prices… you literally can’t make this nonsense up. Sad day for all Americans, Slava Ukraini

6

u/Tipsy_Gypsy420 6h ago

So does the US, Europe and Canada!

6

u/Stormdancer 5h ago

So do most of us, sir. So do most of us.

6

u/CelestialFury 1h ago

Trump has betrayed America, Ukraine, all our allies, everyone really. All for Putin and other evil men to continue to control and destroy everything good in this world.

20

u/WeThePeople102 8h ago

I didn't vote for Republican before, and will not vote for any Republican the rest of my life if American people still have a right vote.

It was clear from as soon as Trump and dance were in office that they were not going to support Ukraine, unless it meant profit or minerals!

4

u/FU_red-dit_bots 7h ago

Feels betrayed?! Feels? He was betrayed. By an ally country led by a man with the maturity of a toddler.

5

u/Drippy_topper 7h ago

He was betrayed.

Trump is no one's friend.

Everything is negotiable because nothing is sacred with him.

12

u/Mav_Learns_CS 8h ago

That’s because it is a betrayal, but it’s the US so we’ll pretend and not call it what it is officially

5

u/WhirlWindBoy7 8h ago

Saudis, Ukraine, South Korea, etc….. Basically, any one that’s not Israel, Russian, or in the Epstein Files.

4

u/dburr10085 8h ago

He feels like America

4

u/ksgt69 7h ago

As an American citizen I feel betrayed. Considering that a) it's not necessarily coming here b) it's only worth a week or so of diesel c) Russia allegedly got a portion of that oil from Iran and blended it with their own so in a roundabout way the US is funding the country it's at war with.

3

u/BadstoneMusic 7h ago

Slava Ukraine !

Fuck Russia
And maga

4

u/goochmusic 7h ago

Probably due to all the betrayal

3

u/Pistazieneis84 6h ago

I bet a lot of NATO Members feel betrayed too

3

u/Sensitive-Big-4641 6h ago

That means Zelensky’s sane. Only a crazy man would take Trump at his word.

5

u/Reddit_Only_4494 6h ago

The only man that will break and betray a deal faster than Putin is Trump.

3

u/Ok-Candy-2627 6h ago

I hope people realize clearly that if this idiot Donnie says it’s raining you don’t believe it until you go outside and check it yourself!

4

u/Terryn_Deathward 6h ago

Can you be betrayed by someone who was your enemy the whole time?

3

u/Dependent_House7077 6h ago

Trump is really speedrunning alienating US.

i just wonder whether he knows what he's doing or is he blind to it since his ego knows better.

4

u/Roadie73 5h ago

Betrayed by Trump? You'd think he'd know better. Since 2016 Trump has just been Putin's monkey anyway. The whole world saw Trump act like a whipped dog for Putin in Helsinki in 2018. Putin owns him.

4

u/The_Naked_Rider 5h ago

Quite a rational response to being stabbed in the back.

4

u/pistoffcynic 5h ago

That’s how a large part of the world feels.

5

u/Consistent_Wing9554 5h ago

It’s was only a matter of time before Trump gave Russia the keys to the castle. Trump is a Russian asset, Putin has so much on him, if Putin told him to blow him he would.

5

u/Widogeist 3h ago

The whole [logical] world feels betrayed by Trump.

u/totallyRebb 7h ago

Trumpists will go down in history as the most traitorous administration. They are just too dumb and drugged up to realize.

3

u/norcalruns 6h ago

Most Americans also feel betrayed. Zelensky should get the Nobel peace prize.

3

u/formershitpeasant 6h ago

I mean he was definitely betrayed just now when musk and trump shut down their starlink at the same moment Moscow attacked a bunch of civilians and infrastructure. Trump and musk are traitorous pieces of shit.
