I'm piloting melee T&H Orks in an upcoming game vs Prio Elves. We're playing on Layout A (crucible of battle). Some YouTubers recommend staying off the center objectives entirely, and focusing on attacking your opponent's expansion.
However, I feel like advancing my Boyz mob with painboy to the center is a great jumping off point for some good melee pressure. Feels like Aeldari might struggle if I get up in their face.
How are you running T&H in this matchup, and any pointers you could give me? Holding 2 hammer units in reserve to rapid T2 and 3 and one shooting unit to bring in on my turn.
Thanks in advance!

Hey guys,
im trying to build a list with many synergies and optimated to play the disposition.
My strategy is that Calgar is giving the aggressors + grav captain deepstrike.
Calgar is pushing to the center and the bladeguard are staging to support him.
The heavy int. will stay on my home and the company heroes will hold my expansion.
In turn two i will try to put the aggressors on the enemy expansion to contest him a little bit.
The bolter eradicators will be my quick reaction force for little infantry units an the melta eradicators will com in from strategic reserve to attack monsters and vehicles.
The JPI will be my actionmonkeys and may attack the enemy home objective.
The landspeeder has the same task as the melta eradicators and the lancer is my heavy gun plattform.
I'm a little bit scared that i have to much points in my 3 melee bricks but on the other side i think that they need to be able to hold down the objectives.
Thanks for your input guys!

Edit: People are claiming that the response to Lion at 415 was not to think he was broken. This is objectively wrong. The top replies in the thread which announced his new price:
"Still incredible at 415. Just park him in the middle to cause all kinds of problems for the opponent that they cannot ignore"
"Probably still too strong of a datasheet but it's a step in the right direction"
"And is still worth it "
"There's just legit no reason to give him a 3++."
"Good. He should be even higher."
______________________________________________________________________________________________
I fully expect to get downvoted for this, and I 100% understand. The Lion is a frustrating model to interact with for many lists, and can create feels bad moments. Go ahead and downvote away if that applies to you.
However, it's pretty clear he's not OP Broken. DA managed a **45%** winrate and 0.7 overrep ast week with the new codex, and a big part of it is the Lion.
https://listhammer.info/?faction=Dark+Angels
Lion showed up in less than half of the X-1 lists. Generic SMs are at a 53% winrate, significantly better than DA's 45%.
While everyone was focusing on his wounds, toughness, and save, all non-DA players ignored the *massive* nerf that he recieved on his abilites. All of them trigger off of DARK ANGELS, not ADEPTUS ASTARTES. As there is no mechanism for genetic SM units to gain a divergent keyword, this means the Lion does nothing for the vast majority of the SM range, and also does not get Lone Op from them. If it's not in the DA supplement, they do nothing for the Lion and he does nothing for him.
Lion next to a Deathwing Terminator squad? Gives them the 5+++ (in of itself a meaningful nerf. I piloted Lion giving 4+++ to Dreadnoughts to multiple X-1 results), RR1s to hit and wound in melee, and gets Lone Op. Lion next to Assault Terminators? No dice, no benefit either way.
This is a severely underlooked aspect of the Lion. While he is an absolutely deadly option, he is a melee missile that does not give out benefits to the majority of the army in many builds, and can only realistically engage and kill one unit at a time. And he REALLY doesn't like the Terminator-equivalent meta where his effective damage is reduced significantly by 4++ and possibly -1 damage on Assault Terminators in Terminator Storm.
If the Lion was what people have wailed about, DA would not be sitting at a 45% tournament winrate after the codex. Generic SMs are 8% higher, and RG has nearly the same durability as the Lion (4++/5+++ is mathematically equal to 3++ into non-mortal damage, and even into mortal it's only a 5+++ bs 4+++), and his abilities are all keyed to ADEPTUS ASTARTES. This not only means he benefits all SM codex seclections, he even gives reroll 1s to hit and wound to DW (both shooting and assault). This is a massive improvement compared to the Lion. In fact, it's such a better phrasing that if you could legally do it, RG is objectively better for a DA list than their own Primarch.
So can we agree once again that online 40k discussion is always pure reflexive response, and that when we let things actually hit the table, they may not be what they seem? Plenty of people were arguing 2 points. 1. Lion would only be balanced at 450+ or 2. There was no point at which the Lion could be balaned. He would either be undercosted and broken or overcosted and worthless. Yet we *do* see the Lion make X-1 competitive lists. DA are just weak enough that it doesn't matter and the whole faction is back on the strugglebus, as is tradition. (The heights of Transhuman 9th and broken CoH+DFP are by far the exceptions for DA. They have spent much more time bottom 5 in 40k history than even top half).
Simply put, I would kill for the weaker, old 10th ed 265 Lion back, even tho he has 10W T9. He was cheap enough to use as a melee missile, without needing to maximize his auras (which applied to everything, and were thus wete easier to maximize). Now he is so expensive that you both need to build a list of purely DA supplement units (and generic infantry with DA characters attached) AND manage to get him into consistent combat while his army benefits from his aura. It's an incredibly thin line to walk and can be easily disrupted. Tournament results give a clear representation of where rhe faction struggles, and it's when an opponent forces them to abandon that game plan.
Edit 2: As I said in the comments, I will come back to the thread and eat crow to every single commenter if the Lion does not see a points reduction or keyword change on his abilities in the next dataslate. So if I'm wrong, you have that to look forward to.
For all rhe "only one week" responses, how long dis it take for the community to come to consensus that the Destrier was a middling model that was okay, and the Defiler was game warping? That was discussed literally after 1 week of results. Obv RG is not an OP problem akin to Defilers, but he is amazing while Lion is usable, but not seeing a lot of lists. And DA and SM comp players have had the rules and ppints for 3 weeks. The results this last week were the culmination of all the prep that they did before that. And in that prep, top tier comp players who are DA specialists or have won GTs/Majors with them moved off of eirher the Lion (see Tony Bennet's published DA list) or off the faction in general (John Lennon, who has crushed tournies with DA in the past, choosing yo go UM+RG over DA+Lion for his supermajor). Okay, last edit, but I'm just getting a lot of the same replies.

Hi all,
I’m currently in the process of building and painting my army. Before I get it all finished, I wanted to know what other items I need to play on the tabletop?
Outside of the army itself, I also have dice, a dice tray, my codexes and the 40k app itself.
I know that a tape measure is also on my shopping list, do I also need to grab the mission pack cards or are they free on the app?
Also, any other recommended QoL items (think like when you started playing, items/tools that you wish you had looking back on it) that I should look at getting?
Thank you!

Can someone please ELI 5 indirect shooting please cause it's hurting my brain. Specially when a unit is spotted.
* Does BS / Cover matter at all for rolling to hit?
* Does being engage matter when rolling to hit?
My plagueburst crawler was engaged with some units, I wanted to shoot the indirect mortor out of combat. Do I hit 4+ or 5+?

As the title, states I am looking into making a checklist of things to considerate or walk through real quick before starting every turn in order to prevent mistakes. I am still a rather new player and I just want to make sure I don't forget anything important. What would a checklist for Grey Knights look like that you can quickly run through before every turn?

I’m playing Space Wolves, but I think this question is broadly applicable - this isn’t intended as a “how to solve this as Space Wolves”, but rather how to play detachments that heavily encourage a melee style of gameplay.
With the detachments / units available to me, no major ranged units really stick out as must-takes in lists I’m putting together. With 11th layouts often featuring long shooting lanes, I’ve typically felt “some” threat is required to avoid your opponent having free reign in deployment / positioning.
I’m now debating whether it’s worth it given I have a lot of high M units - with the various buffs, I can be across the board in a turn anyway.
How critical do you feel it is to maintain at least some ranged threats?

This chart includes data from all singles events with 21+ players and 5+ rounds.
There is a lot of sarcasm in this post.
Our first real week post-dataslate and post-Marine codex drops, with 19 events and 850 players. Let's see how everyone did with their Meta Prediction Bingo Cards. Don't forget your free space in the center, "Astra Militarum is Trash Tier."
First off, if you guessed that Imperial Agents would have the highest win rate of the weekend and not the fewest number of players, congratulations.
Everyone who correctly predicted that Blood Angels would have their best weekend in months following the release of the new codex, while Dark Angels and Space Wolves would find themselves near the bottom, be sure to mark those as well.
Drukhari, Tyranids, and Emperor's Children round out the top factions in win rate this weekend, as I'm sure everyone accurately predicted.
Space Marines dominate the top tables of events, with a significantly improved win rate, FIVE event wins, and very high X-0/X-1 and 4-0 conversion rates. And remember, this is the "throw crap at the wall and see what sticks" week, so it's a good thing Custodes release next weekend to save the rest of the meta from the Space Marine overlords.
Orks seem much healthier following the changes in the dataslate. They still have an excellent win rate, but their top table performance declined dramatically to just about "average."
Overall, very interesting results this weekend, and lots of unexpected things. I look forward to the calm, rational discussion to follow.

John Lennon with Ultramarines!
He beat the lovely Sam Pope playing World Eaters in the finals after dominating the field all event.
I unfortunately do not have a BCP account so cannot see the lists but if someone wants to share them in the comments I can add them to the post later.
Disclaimer: On BCP you may see this was a manual override moving John to 1st. One of the TOs (Anthony Vanella) has stated in the Stat Check discord that he and the players decided that the event finals would be for the win regardless of whether or not one player or the other has already won the event on paper due to win path or tie breakers. They didn’t want a finals where one player had no shot to win the event.
It was discussed with all x-1 and x-0 players and they all opted into it so that the last round wasn’t meaningless.
**EDIT: Lists!

Is it worth taking bolt guns on rubric marines now? Previously flamers seemed like the obvious choice, but considering the s5 and ap2 change, it seems like boltguns could be viable now (especially with the ignores cover and sorcerer‘s lethal hits). I guess the only thing making me more reticent is that the new hidden rules will make it tough to target infantry (preferred targets; outside of 12 inches anyway, so the range isn’t that useful.
I was even thinking about running a 10 man with an exalted sorcerer as a durable ranged backfield threat.
N.b. I’ve just painted my first 15 rubrics with flamers, and I’ve got another 15 to paint, so maybe boltguns is the way to go.

My idea is to play take and hold, yeet the crusader brick on centre objective, yeet one of the bladeguard bricks on my expansion and use the rest of the army to score secondaries and support the units holding the objectives, is it viable? Would you make any changes?

I saw the Atlanta Open is happening in late November. I’m relatively new to WH40K and live in the area. I’m curious, are non-competitors allowed to go? Are there vendors there? Do you have a chance to chat to players also? I’d love to go check it out, burly some paints or a box or 2, and chat to some fellow faction players! I wanna play a tourney one day, just not there yet.
P.S. if there’s a T’au Empire player planning on going and does some coaching on the side, I’m very interested!
Thanks!

After I had posted my Warpstrike champion list some of you asked to let you know how the tournament went.
I am happy to say I went 2-1 and won Best in Faction for Chaos! This was my first time going positive win rate at a tournament!
The Tournament was a 3 round RTT at Huzzah Hobies in Ashburn, VA
Maps went A, B, C in order of rounds
Very well run and I want to say thank you to the staff and Judges for being smooth, organized, knowledgeable and fair in their handling and rules ruling of the tournament especially with the weird stuff going on with access to the Space Marine codex
Pre Game Notes-
I put the same stuff in deepstrike each game
Demon Prince with Tzagulla
Kravek Morne with Mutilators
One Termie Sorcerer brick with Infernal Fulgerite
Totaling 965 in deepstrike at the start
Games-
Game 1- Sisters of Battle: Hallowed Martyrs- WIN
Game 2- Dark Angels: Assault Brethren, StormLance, Dark Flight Pursuit- LOST
Game 3- Guard: Bridgehead Strike, Mechanised Assault- WIN
Highlights-
\- Uppy downy is as useful as ever, even if they block back field deepstrikes just repositioning for better shooting angles is enough to be useful
\- The stats upgrades feels awesome when combined with cabal of chaos. I’m always Dark Pacting because I do this rather than gambling. Terminators rerolling hits with 44 combi bolter shots at 6, -2 (because of cabal of chaos and death hex) , 1 into any T3 1 wound body rocks. Against the Guard and Sisters I could wipe a 15 man unit even supported by Hospitlers or Medics with ease. Especially if I came down from ingress and use Siegebreaker strike to give both units ignore cover
\- In built charge rerolls, so useful and saves so much cp, can’t wait to get the unbuilt CP regeneration of 11th
\- Kravek slaps and can kill most anything and consistently reaches targets thanks to +2 to charge and inbuilt rerolls. If I space out the deepstrikes with Sorcerers, Kravek, and the Demon prince on separate turns
Downsides-
\- Disruption Sucks, I felt like I was fighting an uphill battle in all my games to win points. 2 of my games was Priority Assets and one was Recon. Doing the priority action for no points while they get 4 and doing the decoy action while they can remove them for no action felt terrible. I found my best way to win was to focus on secondaries and ignore the primary until turn 4 and just kill as much as possible then uppy downy onto the middle by end of game to get the big extra points at the end of the game
\- Action monkeys, I didn’t have enough and will definitely swap the raiders for double cultists as the accursed can reach the same places with their scout as the raiders could and for cheaper
\- CP hungry list, the list has great Stratagems which is awesome but also sucks because this list has no way to generate extra except for dumping secondaries
\*\*Game 1- Ruben and his Hallowed Martyrs\*\*
Ruben used the same sisters list that won the London GT with some extra Insindiants. Led by a classic Morvenn Vahl and Paragon Warsuits. Intranzia Fraye for Lethal Hit marking. The Triumph of Saint Catherine blob to hold center and a Sacresents on the left flank with Aestred Thurga.
The Primary was Disruption vs Priority Assets on Layout A, Dawn of War long deployment
I deployed with my action boys ready to contest for the center to deny him doing the action, raiders first up. My normal deepstrikers set up as described above.
I got turn 1 and started by having my raiders just barely touch the center and do an action. I thought I was safe with the dense terrain providing me go to ground but I didn’t know the triumph of Saint Catherine could provide +2 move never having played against sisters before. The raiders were killed to the man by some shooting and the Saint Katherine blob moved onto the point
Turns 1-3 progressed with some normal trading and secondary scoring with the highlight being a Kravek rapid ingress to take out Morvenn Vahl who had just killed one of my Termie Bricks who had taken his back home objective. She then fought on death and took out all Mutilatoes and left Kravek on 2 wounds
Turn 4 and 5 I cleaned up the rest of his units and kept hard pressure with firing angels with oblits and advance and charging Termies
Good game Ruben but T3 bodies are my favorite to chew up 🤩
86-83 victory. Felt very rewarding and tactical
\*\*Game 2- PJ and his Ravenwing Dark Angels\*\*
PJ used a now seemingly meta Darkflight Pursuit with the Lion, 2 outrider squads one with chaplain w/ sword of the imperium, and the other with Samael. Then 2 speeders and 3 Vengeance Speeders with the glitched app upgrade for number of shot rerolls.
This game was Disruption vs Recon meaning we played Smoke and Mirrors on Layout B.
I stupidly deployed up my action monkeys turn 1 to create decoys and immediately regretted as he got turn 1 as he declared Assault Doctrine and threw the chaplain and Samael in my deployment zone and moved all speeders 16in and lion in devastator doctrine. I practically gave him charge targets to launch his guys into with his abilities. I also accidentally placed my Obliterators within 3 inches of the accursed cultists and he consolidated into them.
This prevented their shooting for 2 turns as they had to punch through the tarpit that is Samael all while being battle shocked
All my monkeys died turn 1 and the rest of the game was fighting out of my deployment zone as his speeders perfectly screened my deepstrikes, all being exactly 16in away from each other. I never made a decoy once 😭
My only saving grace was that in turn 2 his lion advanced out of the center in Assault doctrine and double whiffed a 7 in charge and his Deathwing knights who came down in my now very empty deployment zone who also then failed a charge. If that hadn’t happened I’d have been practically tabled turn 2. Thanks to the whiffs I was able to deepstrike the Demon Prince and Kravek in and charge him for the double mortal wound bomb. The lion went down in two turns only killing the Prince and 4 terminators. The Deathwing Knights went down surprisingly easily to a terminators bolters as wounding on 4s and 1 damage negates any of the benefits of being a Deathwing Knight. Weight of dice can beat a 4++ in the end.
The game came to a close as the untouched Vengeance Speeders kited me and blasted everything down.
Loss 48-99. PJ you played like a champ. He ended up winning best in Faction for Imperium. Hilarious guy and wonderful competitive player
\*\*Game 3- Sean and his Mechanized Guard\*\*
Sean was playing a hilariously awesome list Led by Commisar Yarrick in his Fortress of Arrogance, pimped out as a Stormlord filled with Tempestus Scions and Kasrkin. He also had Gaunt’s Ghost for consistent scoring, Tempestus Auilons for 6in drops, and a couple scout chimeras, sentinels, and Taurox. It was fast and punchy
The lists idea was simple, drive the Titanic Vehicle into the center. Do the priority asset actions and blast away from the open deck then hop out with 40 scions if anyone tries to take the objective. If an enemy gets within 8, reactive move with Yarrick then suck them back up into the Stormlord at the end of the turn.
It was a solid strategy except that my Storm bolters love T3 with bad saves and -1 AP Empyric strat is great for saving against hot shots.
The plasma and melta bombs from Kasrkin was wicked though and ate through some Termies very efficiently
I ignored the primary and focused on cleaning up the edges with my Obliterators and focusing my Termies on the center.
The Demon Prince on Turn 3 did an amazing job doing 16+ wounds into the Stormlord with the charge and Strike attacks even as Kravek failed the charge. If Kravek hadn’t failed the Stormlord would be dead in one turn but it lived on 2 and was able to fallback only to be ambushed by yet more rampaging back line Termies.
The game wrapped up with destroying the Stormlord and blasting down any remains troops as I took the center turn 4 and ensured I’d have the last terrain piece to hold with the end of the game bonus scores. He had taken an early lead by doing the action as I got nothing on primary except for some kills on objectives but in 11th the capacity for late game swings is very high
Win 84-78. What a cool list Sean! Keep it up! Maybe some Bullgryn to provide an anvil. Almost everything in his list but the transports and Stormlord was T3
Summary-
The RTT had a great mix of meta competitive lists but also a wide variety of factions and styles. I saw chaos knights, Aeldari, Orks, Genestealers, Guard, EC, Demons, and more! It wasn’t a shark tank, just good kind players who understood the assignment. Will come again
For the list I was very happy about how it performed and may lean towards Ashkurs binding rune in the future over infernal Fulgerite. A turn one deepstrike then yo-yo would be pretty useful.
Also more action monkeys. Maybe Cypher?
Kravek and Demon P are essential hammers to strike the terminator anvils but even they can shoot like hell and kill a lot
Obliterators are wonderful angle shooters and can get anywhere you need them I’m even if their lack of rerolls makes them a little unreliable. I’ve learned to overcommit with shooting or else things are going to live on 1 to 2 wounds. As an example I shot some guards instead of the Stormlord because I assumed Kravek would make the charge and then that was a mistake as it lived on 2
If you made it this far thanks for reading and would love to hear your thoughts!

Hello everyone,
I have a group I play with. I usually do pretty well, but one buddy plays Blood Angels and brings 3 Baal predators, and 3 fat stacks of sag guards and a few other pieces. Every single game I am stuck in my deployment zone as he hems me in immediately with Baal predators, followed up by the insanely fast sang guards, and I have no room to maneuver or do anything.
How do I play against this, I just do not understand what I can do because he always has all the initiative. Especially, the only option I have is to take the initial hit and hope that I survive long enough to swing back and kill things, which is crazy unlikely.
I play dark angels, I had the lion activate twice on a 6 man sang guard with captain and Sammy with 3 outriders and 3 black knights activate on the same sang guard once, and there were still 2 sang gaurds left after that. He had two other bricks of them. How can I possibly win when I am putting that many points into a single unit and still not killing it? I am so lost for an answer at the moment.

Hello All,
Since the beginning of the year, I've been working on building and painting Emperor's Children for the Grand Narrative event in Atlanta. In order to try and enjoy the event and not get totally destroyed every game, I've been practicing now that we mostly have the rules set for the forseeable future (I don't expect a change as big as the increase in Toughness/AP to come through, at least). At the end of this post, I will attach my list so you guys can see what I'm working with.
I've played 2 games so far, one against Custodes, and one against Iron hands. I don't have their lists on hand, but the Custodes list was about 17 models, all Terminator guys and large tanks, while the Space Marine army was Gravis/Terminators, 3 Deads, and a landraider.
In both games, I struggled to do much before being tabled early. I am finding it very difficult to deal damage (in the Custodes game, I killed 4 models total, in the game against Iron Hands, I did slilghtly better, elminating 2 squads before I was tabled), and the additional toughness feels more like a tax on my total points than any kind of benfit, as everything that gets touched, dies anyway. I have tried utilizing cover, but -1 to hit seems to be of little hinderance.
In both games, I went first, and charged units turn 1 with my Infractors/LEs, and so far no squad has been able to wipe an enemy squd even with Euphoric strikes. none of my units have been able to kill anything off of an advance+charge, and so far I have gained 1 coterie point across 2 games, dealing 6 mortal wounds to my Daemon Prince in the process.
All of that context, to ask for some general advice. I'm used to playin Blood Angels, and assumed I would be more lethal on the charge. Is Thrill Seekers a huge trap? should I avoid advancing so I can pump every unit into the same target? I havebeen considering cutting all marine bodies and going to 3x WDP, 3 Defilers, 2 Maulerfiends, since they have better survivability and seem to be more able to kill things, but that doesn't seem like it would be very fun for a narrative event. At the end of the day, being tabled on turn 2 is also not very fun for a narrative event either.
Any general advice would be appreciated, I don't plan to change my list until I've played 5 more games, and want to get 25 games in before the Grand Narrative to make sure that I am as prepared as possible. List below:

• 1x Scout Sergeant: Bolt pistol, Combat Knife, Boltgun
Ideally all 6 Aggressors in the Repulsor and 5 infernus + Vulkan He'stan + Apothecary in the Impulsor.
Maybe I need to drop a transport, I feel like I have not enough models in play, but I like the land speeder. I considered swapping the apothecary with a second ancient for double sticky but don't know if it's necessary. I also truly wanted a 10-man squad of infernus for a huge overwatch, but maybe it's overkill at this points. And maybe I need to pay for a deep-strike unit, since it's strong in 1k pts. Anyway I'm open to all feedback, feel free to comment

110 pts for cleave 1 on the charge, access to any doctrine you need whenever you need it or 75 pts for dev wounds on shooting and lance. In storm lance specifically I feel the chappy is just better since he can fish for devs with the twin linked bolters, hits like a truck on the charge and then 1 cp skedaddle even if they don’t kill their target. 20 more points to give the chaplain the sword of big damage and he’s still 15 points cheaper.
I haven’t really seen much discussion on comparing these two. So I’m wondering if I’m missing something about the captain or maybe I’m not giving as much weight to the doctrines. I can see the captain being more valuable if you aren’t taking storm lance but if you’re taking a bike unit+leader wouldn’t you take storm lance?

Hi all, looking for some advice on deciding between 2 ork lists to bring to an RTT next month. Looking for any advice or modifications to make! I have most units, but unfortunately no Kans :(

Gunwagon [170 pts]: 4x Big Shoota, Crushin' Bulk, Grabbin' Klaw, Lobba, Wreckin' Ball, Zzap Gun [10 pts]
This list is a pretty standard shooty ork list with the big three detachments of Dread Mob, Wreckas and Blitz Brigade. THe plan is for the 2 Tankbusta units (one led by the SAG) to sit in the Gizmos Battlewagon, and hopefully get riled up by the solo warboss. I opted for an extra busta launcha over the pulsa rokkits since the plan is for them to sit in there as long as possible. The Flash Gitz do Flash Gitz things and hopefully hold down the midboard and get an angle on the center objective and abuse Move Shoot Move as much as possible. I also opted for a unit of stormboyz for scoring since I felt like I needed something to keep my opponent honest about their home objective and should help score Engage.
List 2
Detachment: Bully Boyz, Dread Mob, Wreckas
Force Disposition: Purge the Foe
Epic Hero [165 pts]
Nazdreg [165 pts]: Warlord, Kustom Blasta X, Moonchewa
• Leading: Meganobz

Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun [125 pts]: Big Mek's Toolz, Shokk Attack Gun
• Leading: Tankbustas[2]
Mek [55 pts]: Kustom Mega-slugga, Mek's Toolz
• Supporting: Flash Gitz
Warboss [100 pts]: Power Klaw, Kustom Shoota
Infantry [745 pts]
Flash Gitz [135 pts]: Supa-snazz Dakka [25 pts]
• 1x Kaptin: Choppa, Snazzgun
• 4x Flash Gitz: Choppa, Snazzgun
• Supported by: Mek
Gretchin [45 pts]:
• 10x Gretchin: Grot Blasta, Scavenged Shivs
Gretchin [45 pts]:
• 10x Gretchin: Grot Blasta, Scavenged Shivs
Meganobz [200 pts]:
• 5x Meganob w/ Twin Killsaw [5 pts]: Twin Killsaw [5 pts]
• Leader: Nazdreg
Tankbustas [160 pts]:
• 1x Nob: Choppa, 2x Rokkit Pistol
• 1x Tankbusta w/ Pulsa rokkit: Busta Rokkit Launcha, Gitstikka, Pulsa Rokkit
• 4x Tankbusta w/ Busta Rokkit Launcha: Busta Rokkit Launcha, Gitstikka
• Leader: Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun[1]
Tankbustas [160 pts]:
• 1x Nob: Choppa, 2x Rokkit Pistol
• 1x Tankbusta w/ Pulsa rokkit: Busta Rokkit Launcha, Gitstikka, Pulsa Rokkit
• 4x Tankbusta w/ Busta Rokkit Launcha: Busta Rokkit Launcha, Gitstikka
• Leader: Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun[2]
Vehicle [320 pts]
Gunwagon [160 pts]: 4x Big Shoota, Crushin' Bulk, Grabbin' Klaw, Lobba, Wreckin' Ball, Zzap Gun [10 pts]
Gunwagon [160 pts]: 4x Big Shoota, Crushin' Bulk, Grabbin' Klaw, Lobba, Wreckin' Ball, Zzap Gun [10 pts]
Dedicated Transport [60 pts]
Trukk [60 pts]: Spiked Ram, Rokkit Launcha, Grabbin' Klaw
The second list is pretty similar, but I drop Blitz Brigade for Bully Boyz and take Meganobz in lieu of a Tankbusta wagon. I also pick up a second SAG and drop the gitz down to 5. I like this one because I think Naz and the MANz have some juice and could be fun to Rapid Ingress these guys while the rest of the army does what it does best. My main hesitation about this one is I dont have a clean way to play the the 2x Tankbustas without the Gizmos BW. I feel like putting both squads in the same trukk is a huge target, but leaving one on foot is also fairly vulnerable.

Like many of you I have a tendency to min-max.
Why play good thing when better thing exists?
More than that it is hard to ignore synergy and applying the bests buffs to more of your army is hard to ignore.
Every Space marine build I make ends up being better as a terminator build.
Any ultra build leads to terminators. You either take Gman (who buffs deathwatch terminators to the nth degree, so you might as well take those) or you take calgar who gives you the terminator tag so might as well take terminator detachments.
Sternguard genuinely good unit with buffs basically just needs +1 to wound vs vehicles and then you are golden (imperial fists or inner circle)
Inner circle buffs terminators, well might as well add in a brethren + terminators detachment.
Imperial fists well lysander is such a good character might as well add him plus terminators you have a reactive move after being shot which shooty terminator love and at that point you already have 400 points of terminators in one unit might as well theme your whole army around it.
Originally my list building goal was to make flying units good (I normally play BA, which is not where it is at right now). You can buff vanvets to be decent with innercircle dealing 6 mortals on the charge +1 to wound sustain or lethal, but S5 2 damage is a hard hurdle to overcome.
Ill check out salamanders and ravenguard to see if I can get a good thing going that isnt just better by including terminators.

Top 3 lists for the Amulet D20 GT. Won by Idoneth (who received a bye in the first round), followed by Soulblight and Daughters.
