Steam Controller (2026) My take on a Steam Controller stand
The goal was to make it as unnoticeable as possible when the controller stands on it, which is what I aim for when designing controller/handheld stands. It holds the puck tightly, which keeps the controller in place and charged (I recommend an angled USB-C cable so that it doesn’t stick out).
This is a repost, sorry about that: A commenter pointed out that the edited picture I posted left out a whole piece of the model, so I retook the photos on a clean white background. Lesson learned.

Support Using Keyboard and Mouse with Steam Link. Works 50% of the time.
I am currently using a wireless Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse to connect to my phone which has steam link installed. I know if I get a pop up on my computer, it will disable that portion of the screen and the mouse will stop working for that area due to administrative privileges. I have a decent PC and a dual monitor setup. Majority of the time for games that I play, the keyboard works relativly fine and minimal issues.
The mouse will sometimes just refuse to work or partially work. The mouse at times the clicker disappears but still is functional, sometimes its invisible and doesnt function. The most common issue i have is that it doest register mouse clicks or will show 2 cursors moving over one another. The computer is almost always detecting my mouse movements as it will highlight games in the library and I can see the mouse moving. But I cant right click, or left click. Sometimes it works from the start, then might stop working while playing a game. Ive tried everything I could think of. Im not sure if its my pc, the dual monitor, or what. Help!

Configuration "Inverse" hipfire trigger possible?
Using OG Steam controller,
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to set up a hipfire trigger such that the soft pull is sent on a fast, full pull instead of the full pull? Such that full pull is only sent on a slower full pull.
I've got 2 games where there's both a low and high zoom state. Ideally I have low zoom on soft and full zoom on full, but often in heated situations I a) just slam the trigger down and b) only want the low zoom. I know I can just put high zoom on soft and low on full but that's no fun.
Thx in advance

Steam Controller (2026) Question about analog stick replacement
So I'm trying to figure out if I swap the right analog stick with a taller one, will the controller still function? I know that each stick has capacitive sensors, so I don't want to mess up the controller if the swap isn't possible. I don't plan on using that function anyway, so any help or knowledge is appreciated!

Support PSA: Don't leave your controller plugged in any way during a thunderstorm
I left my SC on the puck during a thunderstorm, the power went out, and now the left trigger is constantly being pressed.
Tried opening up the controller to clean the trigger, but there's nothing to clean because it's just a magnet. So please be careful and don't leave your controller on the puck during a thunderstorm.
Edit: Btw, I live in Brazil, this controller was a gift from a friend who lives abroad, so I can't RMA it. I am trying to, but Valve doesn't officially sell hardware here, so there isn't much they can do. Thx for the suggestions about buying surge protectors and UPS, but in Brazil these things are really expensive, and I don't have the money for that rn. Anyway, I will go back to my crying corner, because this whole situation is making me severely depressed. Hopefully I can give some good news soon.

Discussion Dpad for WASD/Arrow keys movement.
How viable do you find using the dpad like this, especially for fps or otjer games where WASD/Arrow keys is preferred? Additionally, can you still have stuff like crouching or sprinting mappable on the dpad, freeing up some inputs?

Discussion How good is Flick Stick + Gyro vs using the Touchpad + Gyro?
I've recently got a new controller (EasySMX S10), and wanna try out Flick Stick with Gyro. However, I've seen others using Touchpad on SC1/2 with high sensitivity, saying how it's better for quick turning and aiming in general. So wanna ask for your experience with either or, and which you find better.
Slight edit: I still got my SC1, and might wanna experiment myself. Though, still wanna ask for yall experience with it.

Discussion Is my Steam Controller malfunctioning?
I got the new Steam controller close to the release date. I was hoping for it to become my new default controller, but I found the d-pad to be unusable. I was extremely disappointed and the controller has just been collecting dust.
I like to play older 2D games with the d-pad and in particular with fighting games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, the diagonal presses on the d-pad for jumping back or forward often do not register. I have never experienced this with any other d-pad.
I am wondering if it is a problem with the design of the controller or just a problem with my particular unit.
What has been your experience with the d-pad?

Steam Controller (2026) they added a different scream sound when you drop the controller
I'm not sure which firmware version they added this in but there's like a 50% chance of hearing a cat screaming sound instead of the wilhelm scream.

Discussion Steam Controller Logistics
I "reserved" a steam controller on the 15th May, how is it a thing that they still haven't been able to sell me a controller? Like at what point do Valve start getting shit for their dire logistics because it's insane.
It's a controller for fuck sake.

Support My controller doesn't want to exist
I need help my lovely people on the internet.
My Steam controller is not showing up on Bluetooth at all and won't be recognised by my laptop.
I have updated the it Via USB on my steam deck, as is the only device that recognises it via USB the Steam deck can't see it on Bluetooth as well.
But my laptop running Fedora Linux isn't recognising anything but the mouse pad and I can't Bluetooth the thing. I'm stumped.
Btw I've lost the puck so I can't use that as well 😭

Discussion Forgot I even signed up for the controller and got my confirmation today. Debating if I should go ahead and buy it as a backup since I already have one
Signed up late to the Steam Controller release and forgot about it for a while but I went ahead and got one second hand since then and have been loving the controller. But now I can get the one that I put in for originally so it might be worth it as a backup in case something goes wrong with the first one anyways right?

Steam Controller (2026) Customized my gamepad for Helldivers 2
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Trackpad also works for stim use and weapon switch. At first I was using a D-Pad as I did on DualShock 4 with index finger (somehow got used to it), but on Steam Controller the D-Pad is the only thing I don’t really like, and had lots of missclicks. I actually wasn’t expecting to use trackpads as much as I do when I was buying the gamepad.
P.S. don’t mind the very blue-ish screen, the TV is old and LEDs are slowly dying. In reality it isn’t that bad as it is on camera lol
