Question Post #2 about recent 91/30 purchase
An odd hole was drilled. Not sure if it was once disabled for legal purposes or a mistake was made when the scope was being mounted. But I really question the safety of shooting it. The screw hits the bolt. And will go all the way through if bolt is pulled back

My Mosins Finnish 91/30
Picked this up for four and a half Bennies today. 1944 tikka barrel on a 1938 Tula receiver. It did come with a Heinz 57 of a sling (two finnish dog collars of different colors, and a ‘52 dated russian strap), and since I have a spare Finnish fabric sling, I’ll probably kitbash those together to make an at least completely Finnish sling. All numbers match except the butt plate. Interestingly it’s in a Russian stock but it has been with the rifle for a long time, as evident by a reverse impression of the Tula tang mark in the wood.

Question How’d I do boys?
Snatched up my 2nd mosin. First 91/30, at a gun show. Dated 1942 and paid $875. Any info given is greatly appreciated.
Edit: accidentally posted 2 scope pictures. Bore has a hammer and sickle in a wreath. 1942. Serial number and a triangle with a full fletched arrow
Edit 2. Missing pictures in comments

Question Tikka m91
Recently acquired this beautiful Tikka barreled m91. Was really stoked to see the original receiver date when I pulled it out of the stock. My question is, it appears as though this one has the CE WG or WC stamp directly on top of the imperial russian crest? Is this an Austrian military marking? Thanks in advance!

Question Accumounts PU scope any good?
I have an ex sniper 1944 Tula 91/30 that I’d like to convert back to its former glory. Now if I can get my hands on an original scope/mount I will. But if I can’t has anyone here had experience with accumounts scope and mount? How well does it hold its zero? Any major flaws I should know about that would make me rethink buying a Repro?

Question My infamous left side flat spring, SA stamped Mosin 91/30
I only say Infamous because I have never seen this feature, anyone who says it’s just uncommon and doesn’t add value can’t seem to tell me why either.
Paid $395 I want honest insight from the nerdiest mosin nerds.
In this day and age (mosin climate) I believe I did pretty damn good.
I’m also interested in a good method to properly clean this rifle as there appears to be a cosmoline-like substance on some of the parts. I don’t think it’s cosmoline as it doesn’t smell and it feels more like hardened pine tar.
Enjoy the pics

ID help Could someone explain to me the different markings and help ID it?
I inherited this from my grandpa. I'm not sure what really any of it means but I can't find much even in the guide on most of the markings

ID help Triangle 2 stamp
Picked this 1940 Tula up at a gunshow. Found a triangle 2 stamp on it which seems to be surrounded with all kinds of information but none of it seems to be concrete. Some sources mention East Germany, others mention an Iraqi marking. Any ideas? It does have an MO refurbishment stamp.

Historical The other Nagant….
The only true Soviet Russian gun in my collection. 1931 Tula produced M1895 Nagant revolver in the original 7.62x38. These things are so weird and cool. I got it for $450 with holster and some loose ammo. Wish I could have picked one up when they were dirt cheap but oh well.

ID help 1923r ex-dragoon, what can you tell me?
Picked this up at my local auction house for 500, looking for as much info as possible. Came with the non matching bayonet that fits perfectly. The receiver has clearly been scrubbed and renumbered and I’m also curious as to what the eagle crest and diamond are, as well as all the other various markings on the receiver, thanks!

Question Rounds get hung up in Finnish D stamped M28.
Basically I have some soft point brass cased 7.62x54R PPU 150 grain. When I load them into my Finnish M28, they either get hung up and won't push down, or they seat inside the magazine but get stuck and the bolt will not pick them up and push them up to chamber them. Everything works beautifully when I single load them, very smooth. The clips perform correctly in a Soviet 91/30 1942.
Now I think this might be due to the tighter tolerances on the M28, due to the fact it was designed for 7.62x53R. It is D stamped and everything chambers correctly. I only have issues with the stripper clips. I haven't shot the rifle yet, I was hoping for further opinion because I don't know everything and I am a novice.

My Mosins First mosin
Hey everyone,
Just got my first mosin today from an older gentleman I’ve become acquainted with. He sold it to me for 200 dollars, from my own limited research I believe it’s a 1932 Tula made mosin. All serial numbers match. There are an absolute plethora of stamps all over which I’m not sure mean anything but if anyone notices anything interesting id appreciate it. I shot it today and besides being high (which seems common) it shot wonderful. Fully disassembled and cleaned and then oiled the wood. I am over the moon.

ID help Marking ID
Anyone know what this mark is? Located on the left side of the reciever. From what I've seen on the various marking ID forums and sites, it strikes me as an accuracy proof mark, but it's missing the circle around it. For reference, it's a 1942 Finn M39. Hex reciever . Numbers matching, .3095 bore, mix of N.E.W. and pre-1928 Ishevsk proofs on bolt components. What's the opinion of the experts?
One more question to spare a new post, any ideas on getting a cleaning rod? This particular example doesn't have one, and I can't seem to source one anywhere! All the ones I find are for the Non-Finn mosins.

ID help Going to look at this Mosin tomorrow need info
Going to look at this Mosin tomorrow, I’m not a Mosin expert by any means but this one appears to be Finish made, I read that some of the earlier ones were a different caliber than 7.62x54r and my biggest concern other then being able to afford it is it safe to shoot surplus 7.62x54r from it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

My Mosins Now there are two of them
I work in an auto shop doing paint correction/ceramic coating and recently had a customer tip me with a Mosin. This guy had a Makarov as his truck gun and I offered to buy it from him. He didn’t want to sell it to me but I talked to him about old Soviet guns and told him my first rifle was a Mosin. When he picked up his truck he gave me a 91/30 as a tip and said I would probably enjoy it! The new one is a 1943 Izhevsk re arsenal with very little bluing left whereas my original one is a 1942 Izhevsk that I bought in 2010 for $100.

Question Question about ammo
What brands / countries of origin ammo would you stay away from i know there are some surplus rounds from specific countries that have a high tendency to blow up your rifle
And im curious is there is any brands to stay away from!
