Browning T Bolt- excellent rifle and fun to shoot. I really enjoy this one. It’s got a Jard trigger 16oz, if I recall correctly.
Keystone 722- I was actually surprised with this rifle. It looks really nice in person, shoots quite well, and I love that it’s made in Pennsylvania. It’s a sleeper for sure. For a stock trigger, it’s pretty good. This rifle is absolutely underrated. It’s definitely an accurate rifle. Granted, there’s no real aftermarket for it, at least none that I’ve seen.
The last one is a CZ 457- excellent rifle as well. It’s got a Timney 12oz trigger in it, wrapped in an Oryx aluminum chassis. Obviously, the CZ reputation holds true with this one.
All three are extremely competitive at 50 and 100 yards. One doesn’t really outshine the other in these three rifles, on paper at those distances. I’m limited to 100 yards on my property. Could they shoot further? Absolutely.
If I had to choose only one, I’d probably choose the Browning. I really enjoy the action. The wood looks nice in person. The Jard trigger only made the rifle even better. I do run suppressed with it as well.
I like the Keystone wood the best (CZ came with the wood stock as well). The CZ is just an all around excellent rifle with good aftermarket support and the reputation matches the rifle.
Anywho, I felt like sharing.

Put back together after getting the barrel chopped down to c-length. Ready for the next Steel Challenge match.

A question was raised about the length of one of these three rifles. They’re side by side for comparison.
I tossed in a Ruger 10/22 for reference because it’s a common enough rifle that people can relate for size and length.
Top to bottom:
Browning T Bolt
CZ 457
Keystone 722 Varmint
Ruger 10/22
The three top rifles all shoot a similar enough pattern at 50-100 yards that you can’t differentiate which rifle shot which paper, and it’s dependent on the ammunition for each rifle. With the right ammunition they’re all very equal. I only have a 100yd lane at my property to shoot on, so beyond that distance, they may start to show differences in precision.
The Ruger shoots like any other 10/22. Nothing that spectacular about it.

Remixed the new GP9-sa(mp9 stylized glock) from dbfirearms to fit the cp33. Made a mp9 styled stock and a custom Tri lug Tisha. Feels good to be in a free state.
Also, yes it goes brrt. Cant speak on that part too much but it does have an frt.
Title: First .22 LR Rifle – What Would You Guys Recommend Under $800?
Looking to pick up my first .22 LR rifle and wanted to hear what you guys recommend.
I really enjoy tinkering with my guns, swapping triggers, adding accessories, and upgrading components over time. I'm definitely more of a function-over-aesthetics guy. I care more about performance, reliability, and how a gun shoots than how it looks.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Ruger 10/22, but honestly, the low price tag almost turns me off. It makes me wonder if I'd end up replacing half the gun just to get it where I want it. Maybe I'm completely wrong about that.
I've also been considering the MP5 .22 LR, although I'm not sure how it compares in terms of performance, aftermarket support, and upgrade potential.
I'd rather spend a little more upfront on a quality base rifle than buy something cheap and immediately feel the need to replace everything.
Ideally, I'd like to keep the base rifle under $800. Not necessarily looking for the cheapest option, just something accurate, reliable, and worth building on.
What would you guys recommend? Is the 10/22 really that good, or are there better options if I'm willing to spend a little more? Open to both bolt-action and semi-auto.

I've seen online a tool with a notch, to compress the slide and remove the guide rod without forcing or bending. It was from a rimfire central user or something like that...
It seems discontinued and abandoned now, anyone has the measurements to avoid reproducing it by trial and error?

So another afternoon at the range today in South West, Ohio. Perfect day for shooting 75 degrees, 3 mph wind, 91% humidity air pressure 1014.
Using my Howa M1100 18" non Suppressed.
I had a Box of Eley Benchrest Outlaw 42gr Lot 3124-40032 and a Box of Eley Ultra Long Range which I'll post later tonight.
I chose to shoot at 100 yards today. Vs my normal 50.
Group #1 10 rounds @ 100 yards
Group 2.328" / 2.224" MOA
Radius .736" / 703" MOA
Group #2 5 rounds @100 yards
Group 1.382" / 1.320" MOA
Radius .451" / .431" MOA
Group #3. 5 rounds @ 100 yards
Group 2.238" / 2.137"
Radius .824" / 787"
Has anyone else shot this? I really never see it shot in videos or mentioned. I only had 1 box from my Eley Trial Pack.
I was not impressed with the results today
If you have used it and had better luck let me know. I just know my Howa M1100 did not like it.

I've been putting a lot of rounds through my Beretta 71 to the point where the rifling is starting to dull, so I'm looking for something else that can be the workhorse. I'm looking for threaded PISTOL options (since it will only by shot suppressed), however I hear from folks that some choices like the 502, 22x, TX22 etc are popular but not the most accurate. I don't care about FRT abilities, accuracy above everything, mag capacity isn't really an issue but I won't be opposed to more. Are my only options going to be from the MK IV or 22/45 family/ecosystem?

For precision shooting out to 200 yards is there one you’d prefer over the other? Is it worth it to get one of these over a CZ 457 because of the 10/22 magazine compatibility with both the Ruger rifles?

My club recently started hosting a bowling pin shoot for 22lr. My first thought was my High Standard Supermatic Citation. What are you reaching for from your safe?

Haven’t found a lot of content or feedback out there on this one but I’m interested. I’m looking for a cool, compact range toy in 22. Appreciate any comments or feedback on this one if you’re familiar with it, thanks!

Assembled this RimX over the summer and finally got a chance to shoot it this week. Pretty pleased with how it’s shooting 10 shot groups at 50 yards with SK Match.

Replaced the brace it came with a strike industries brace instead and it collapses just fine. Install took a little longer than expected but I’m happy with the results.

I have this CZ 457 22lr that I would like to get the barrel threaded. I don’t know of anyone in my area that does this but I’m sure there is. My question is how much am I looking at paying to get it done. I don’t have any idea but I don’t want to get taken. Or does anyone know where I could send it off and get it taken care of ? Thanks

Good afternoon ladies and gents! I picked up a Sears Model 25 from a friend. Its firing pin is busted and im having a hard time finding a replacement. I can make a new one in my home shop but was wondering if anyone had a functional model 25 that they would be willing to take some measurements of the firing pin for me. If you have a model 25 and a set of calipers, I’d really appreciate the help. Thanks! :)

My BIL past away a year ago. My sister gave me a couple guns that he had. This one was in the box unfired. There was a brochure and owners manual with copy right dates of 1999 and 2001. So it is basically a new 25 year old rifle. Yeah, I brought it home and shot it. Anyway it was bundled with a Tasco 4x15 scope. I believe I have bought BB guns with better scopes. I don't think I would have paid $2 for this one if it was an option. The gun is purely sentimental value but I thought ya'll might enjoy it.
