I don’t care, new floor master is bad ass and lives up to the terror, the spotlight contrasts in a good way with the new much darker aesthetic of the forest temple

Hi Everyone! I hope you'll check out my piano cover of Kokiri Forest from Ocarina of Time! :) Let me me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions for what Zelda song I should cover next!
I’ve heard from some very reliable sources that Link (the character Link) is hot. What say you?

Hey guys, my partner died too soon at the age of 29 a few days ago. We were only together for a year before he was tragically taken, but in that time I taught him the ways of Hylia and we were so excited to get the new console and game. He’ll now be with me in spirit as I cry my way through it without being able to see his excited reaction as we trudged through it together again…. If I’m still even able to bring myself to play it anytime soon.
The actual ask: he loved the name Peaches. If he could name a horse or anything else, it was Peaches (after his truck name). He was mad he couldn’t name the King of Red Lions “Peaches”. Would you guys mind naming some stuff in the various games that let’s you name things “Peaches” in his honor and drop a pic in the comments for me to cry over and cherish knowing his name is lighting up consoles and emulators everywhere. No demands just if you feel like honoring a kind soul with a heart of gold.
I haven’t been able to bring myself to turn my console on, as seeing his user name pop up would just be too much to bare.
A humble ask from a broken man whose love story was cut too short…

Nintendo Switch 2 Zelda Replaceable Battery (UK/EU)
Is it true that's the November release of the Zelda switch 2 will have replaceable batteries and the October release won't?
Also I've watched videos of the switch 2 battery replacement as I was genuinely curious as to why this is such a big draw for people and it's ridiculous how tedious it is to chance, but how realistic is it you'll need to change your switch 2 battery?

And I don't mean just his voice as Ganondorf!

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely loving this remake, It's exactly the Zelda game I've always wanted. I especially love how some puzzles and areas seem more organic, but removing the original way of accessing the Forest Temple and adding an explicit Hookshot target feels like a step backward. In the original, the broken staircase and dead tree made using the Hookshot feel like a natural workaround. Now, the mansion feels like it was built specifically around the item, as if the only way anyone was ever supposed to get inside was with a Hookshot. It kinda feels like the remake is being too explicit about what the player needs to do, which is strange because Zelda has never really been a series that holds the player's hand this much.
Edit: For those saying this change makes sense because players used to get stuck in the original: if the goal is to make things easier, why not just give the mansion a normal entrance with an intact staircase? This is no longer a puzzle, so there's no reason to keep the broken staircase in the first place.

Now it looks like they warn you with a purple light instead of the growing shadow from the original game. And when the light starts flashing and gets brighter, the hand drops down much faster than it did in the original.
The most interesting change, though, is that it seems like you can now escape from their grasp. At first, I thought this was a bad change, but the more I think about it, the more I think it’s actually a good thing. Even though we can now escape from their grasp, I think they’ll catch us more easily in the first place, so it kind of balances things out.
What do you guys think?

One of the preview videos was kind enough to showcase the title screen, which was edited to add the official theme found of the Nintendo App. Enjoy!

No matter how many Zelda games I play, Keese will always be Zubats to me.

cheated a bit by drawing the character associated with the place instead of the place hehe

Okay, I'm mostly joking about being devastated. Still, I really liked how in the original, the Deku Tree used the old informal singular form of the second-person pronoun. It implied just how old he was, and that his death marked the end of a very long life. Plus, it just sounded cool, and much more in keeping with the idea that this is an ancient legend.
Anyway, not worth getting too worked up over. Just something I noticed. But if I were the one in charge of localizing the game I would absolutely have chosen to retain "thou"/"thee" for the Deku Tree.

They added fences to the falling ceiling in the Forest Temple, presumably to prevent the player from trying to jump on top. You *couldn't* actually get on top in the original game with a backflip unless you used the treasure chest for extra height, but it would void you out, and in Majora's Mask they added a burning top to it. It also kinda functions to obscure your view from the rest of the room.

For some context, my boyfriend and I are now sadly long distance because I became very ill and his absolute favourite time of year is Christmas and he’s been really down about the fact we won’t be able to spend it together so I had an idea to make him feel less alone: I’m making him a very elaborate advent calendar.
I’m visiting him in November and unbeknownst to him, I will be hiding an entire advent calendar in his appartment. I will gift him a small basic cheap advent calendar openly but when he opens it on day 1, he will find a note giving directions to the real advent calendar. On day 1, I’m gifting him a Lego Christmas tree and string lights and then after that each few days are themed after a particular fandom of his with the first day or 2 being more cryptic and saving the best gifts for last:
**LOTR**
Day 2: a love letter in elvish
Day 3: his favourite cheese he cannot buy in his country with a note cordially inviting him to elevenses
Day 4: mini Aragorn sword keychain
Day 5: mini quizz show for me to test his knowledge of LOTR lore
Day 6: Gandalf the grey minifig
**POKEMON**
Day 7: a treasure hunt to find little drawings of earth, wind, fire, and water
Day 8: a pop up card that says “who’s that Pokémon?” And there’s a pop up of his favourite Pokémon Sceptile inside
Day 9: a poke ball AirPod case
Day 10: off brand Lego Sceptile
Day 11: a personalized Pokémon card of him with his stats
**DND**
Day 12: a small key
Day 13: an origami dragon
Day 14: his first set of dnd dice
Day 15: a character sheet of my bf
Day 16: a handmade mini dnd choose your own adventure book (written by me!)
**ZELDA**
Day 17: a perler bead pixel heart with the caption “you have my heart”
Day 18: a treasure hunt around his room to find a little clay korok seed with a note that says “Yahaha! You have found me!”
Day 19: a paper rupee with a note that says “because you’re priceless to me!”
Day 20: some kind of Zelda style puzzle either made physically somehow or vibe coded by a friend
Day 21: Zelda music box
**DISNEY**
Day 22: handmade scratch off voucher where he wins a coupon to either getting to force me to binge watch the trilogy of his choice; or to a free massage by me; or to me cooking whatever he wants
Day 23: matching bracelets with our eye colours intermixed
Day 24: the sky the night we met, framed with the caption “I wished upon a star for you”
And on Christmas Day, he’ll have 2 presents to open, the first being Mickey Mouse ears and the second being 2 two day tickets to Disneyland for us to go together.
I had to keep this year veryyyyyy cheap because of my health issues so almost every single thing on this list is either something I already own, can get for free or can make myself!
I’m coming to this sub to see what you guys think of the gift ideas I came up with for the section for Zelda since I’m not really a fan myself, I’m thankful for any feedback on how to improve this!!!
Does anyone know what the deal is with Radio Hyrule in this day and age? It's still running the audio stream and the main page is still accessible sans SSL certificate, but all other pages are down. I heard it changed ownership back in 2023ish but that's it.
Is there any way to submit new remixes to it at all or contribute in any way? Or is it just on life support nowadays?

I’m sure I’ll get shanked and mugged for saying I think it looks better than the original but still
It’s clean and well cared for, TOO clean for an abandoned manor deep within the lost woods, and I think it adds to the creep factor, someone or something, likely the poes, have kept the house parts of the manor in a near pristine state, it’s unnatural and I think walking through these beautiful halls while the offputting forest temple theme plays in the background will actually make for a creepy experience, or unsettling at the very least

Proud dad moment. Last night, my 6.5 YO son took down the king of evil and returned peace to Hyrule.
We played Ocarina of Time together for the past 5 months and he stuck with it. He never would have been able to get through without me gently guiding him (frequent, but vague hints rather than "go here, do that"), but I only had to beat one boss for him (Bongo Bongo is way tougher than I remember)!
He's hyped to try another, but I told him I'd be helping less with the next one - we'll see how that goes. Majora's Mask is most likely the next just because he wouldn't have to relearn controls.
It's been a terrific journey and a fantastic bonding experience for us. These memories are here to stay.

I made the base out of paper-mache and used the baking soda + paint trick to give it a more rocky texture!
I also added 3D details for the arms and face, but ended up not liking how big the face was, so I repainted it! The fit of the face is a little janky now, but overall, I'm pretty happy with how she turned out!
I also added some sponge moss to make her look a little weathered.
I'm wondering if I should add a little more paper-mache around the edges of the face to make it blend in better, or leave it as is?

Anyone else think the Deku Tree’s voice at the end of the new trailer sounds a bit like Sam Neill?
