The post provided an AI picture of the "Boss" fighting an Arwing, but it looked dull an uninspired. So I took the chance to create it using Blockbench in about 45 mins time. If I was given maybe 2 hours, I could make it in the style of Star Fox 64. (I think the texturing would make it take longer though.)
Just wanted to share and show this off to show Human creativity.
The main antagonist himself, responsible for the Lylat Wars. He's also why I think James still exists due to him seeing the same fox he thought was taken down during that boss battle between him and Fox. But anyway, here's to halfway completing the challenge.
So uh, yeha sorry for not posting my inktober drawings. Lowkey I've been meaning to get to them since Katt's day... Anyway, I wanted to share this model of Lena that I made and finished just now.
Is it kinda glitchy on the meshes? Yup, im not a pro at modeling at all, i know the basics but i just started this as a whim i had years ago because i wanted to make my ocs.
Do my eyes hurt from looking at a screen since 1pm? Definetly
Do i like how it turned out? Hell yeah
So uh, yeah, hope you like it too
Also if you ask what program i used, i use pmx editor for the model and mmd for the render, anyway byeee 💛
The Old Star Fox team based off of the "Star Fox 2" game that was cancelled on the SNES, but released onto the Switch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Center Piece is the Great Fox, with a lot of effort to recreate it from a 1 cutscene in game.
Up in the front is the famous Fox McCloud, flying beside his old love interest, Fara Phoenix.
Next to the Great Fox, flying with precision around a hanger is Falco, while Peppy flies next to the head of the Mothership.
In the rear, Fay and Miyu fly playfully near each other, while Slippy is being a happy little frog.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I recreated all the ships personally using Blockbench. I actually had a thought of showing off the interior of the Great Fox's Hangers, but decided against it. All in all, very happy on how it turned out!
with a little bit of photoshop tricks i thought for fun to redraw the silly rivals on the same team to be a little more in line with the designs we have known for quite a while.
no disrespect to the designs of the 2026 game but come on they could have looked so much better this way.
People for years have said Star Fox Adventures is the black sheep of the Star Fox and that the jurassic world never fit Star Fox at all. I've been thinking before and definitely noticed on my latest playthrough that the planet of dinosaurs is pretty much Lylat System all in one planet. There is a lot of biomimicry and level theming.
Not much to say about Thorntail Hollow and Fortuna having much in common beyond being the areas of greenery. Or the Volcano Forcepoint Temple and Solar being the fire/lava zone on top of being the warmest planet and biome in the games. Or Snowhorn Wastes and Fichina being the winter worlds. All thats basic surface level tropes. But the others
Cape Claw and the Ocean Force Point parallels Aquas, not just being the water worlds but also that its about being a submerged civilization which Slippy pointed out, Aquas used to be too. Even their music has this chilling into the deep feel the farther in we get.
Walled City gave me Katina vibes. The fact they both have pyramid like strongholds surrounded by architecture gave me something to work with.
When I went through Moon Mountain Pass, Meteo in the Switch 2 version comes to mind because of the meteors all over the place and both have a mixture of black, dark green and grey lighting.
Dragon Rock and Venom are the poisonous wasteland planets and the final frontier that both Andross and Scales respectively raised they're armies and made into their hidden base.
Do these level themes and tropes exist elsewhere, of course. But while some are generic green place, snow place. Some Lylat planets actually do share with Sauria's biomes. I doubt Rare had these concepts in mind during development, given this was reworked into a star fox game at later stages and a lot of this carried on from the original dinosaur planet. But the idea is that Adventures isn't as a stray from the series, game worldwise as you think.
Look, I know we weren't against the most elite players here, and it's not like they were attacked to be killed.
But the fact that you can easily outscore someone who's actually playing objective is stupid. Like, what's even the point of having different maps if you're going to play every map the same?
There’s been a lot of speculation as to how Vivian Hare passed away, since there’s been some confusion that she was alive during StarFox Assault, and she passed away many years before StarFox Command. All I can assume is that she may have contracted a disease in Zoness during her honeymoon with Peppy, when they were horrified on how toxic the planet became, was likely battling it for many years, and tragically passed away from it. Which leads to the upbringing of Lucy Hare during the time, and how she could be reintroduced into the StarFox Universe. I believe she could play a large role that should be highlighted, as part of Peppy’s side story.
Growing up in the 90s I didn't have much money, so my access to gaming hardware was very limited. Most of my experience revolved around an old computer that my brother had loaded with emulators, but games were choppy and often had incorrect sounds or sprites, and games that used the Super FX chip were almost unplayable.
Almost. I had no idea at the time, but the emulators I had were overclocking the SFX chip to get it to run at an acceptable rate, and I wouldn't find that out or have the intelligence to mess with the setting until much later in life.
If anyone doesn't know, the Super FX chip's clock rate is different from the console's, and is tied directly to the frame rate. So higher clock speed means faster game pace. I had been playing Starfox in fast motion, and I wouldn't figure it out until the first time I played on an actual hard copy of the game at my friend's house.
I always thought the game was just really really hard, so I got good at it, and when I played on official hardware the first time I beat it no problem because it was vastly more playable at normal speed. But I was shocked. And also excited to play the game how it was supposed to be after all that time hahaha
TLDR; I spent my childhood emulating Starfox on SNES at 1.5x speed and wasn't aware of that until I played on a real copy ten years later and it was really easy in comparison.
Star Wolf's nepo monkey, but I still can't help but feel like there could be ways Wolf could be the father he never had. Maybe he'd treat Andrew better than Andross. But anyway, here he is.
IIRCC: they hardly have text dialogue in Star Fox 2. Ever since we hardly got any context other than Fay is from an aristocratic family and a planet not mentioned by name. Miyu has literally nothing about her at all. Yet some fans would love it if they were reintroduced properly. We have no idea about their age range, origins, career path, personalities, individual skills different from others.
What are your thoughts on the 2 characters that weren't given the chance to reappear?
