I don’t care, new floor master is bad ass and lives up to the terror, the spotlight contrasts in a good way with the new much darker aesthetic of the forest temple

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely loving this remake, It's exactly the Zelda game I've always wanted. I especially love how some puzzles and areas seem more organic, but removing the original way of accessing the Forest Temple and adding an explicit Hookshot target feels like a step backward. In the original, the broken staircase and dead tree made using the Hookshot feel like a natural workaround. Now, the mansion feels like it was built specifically around the item, as if the only way anyone was ever supposed to get inside was with a Hookshot. It kinda feels like the remake is being too explicit about what the player needs to do, which is strange because Zelda has never really been a series that holds the player's hand this much.
Edit: For those saying this change makes sense because players used to get stuck in the original: if the goal is to make things easier, why not just give the mansion a normal entrance with an intact staircase?

I made the base out of paper-mache and used the baking soda + paint trick to give it a more rocky texture!
I also added 3D details for the arms and face, but ended up not liking how big the face was, so I repainted it! The fit of the face is a little janky now, but overall, I'm pretty happy with how she turned out!
I also added some sponge moss to make her look a little weathered.
I'm wondering if I should add a little more paper-mache around the edges of the face to make it blend in better, or leave it as is?

One of the preview videos was kind enough to showcase the title screen, which was edited to add the official theme found of the Nintendo App. Enjoy!

Hey guys, my partner died too soon at the age of 29 a few days ago. We were only together for a year before he was tragically taken, but in that time I taught him the ways of Hylia and we were so excited to get the new console and game. He’ll now be with me in spirit as I cry my way through it without being able to see his excited reaction as we trudged through it together again…. If I’m still even able to bring myself to play it anytime soon.
The actual ask: he loved the name Peaches. If he could name a horse or anything else, it was Peaches (after his truck name). He was mad he couldn’t name the King of Red Lions “Peaches”. Would you guys mind naming some stuff in the various games that let’s you name things “Peaches” in his honor and drop a pic in the comments for me to cry over and cherish knowing his name is lighting up consoles and emulators everywhere. No demands just if you feel like honoring a kind soul with a heart of gold.
I haven’t been able to bring myself to turn my console on, as seeing his user name pop up would just be too much to bare.
A humble ask from a broken man whose love story was cut too short…

Honestly, I refuse to watch any of these gameplays. 😂 I’m so protective of this game’s vibes that watching other people play it feels like I’m spoiling my own experience. I love this game so much that I actually get a little jealous watching other people play, and I start thinking, “Nooo, you’re not experiencing it correctly!” 😂😂 I just want to get my hands on it and discover everything for the first time on my Switch 2, like a little kid on Christmas morning. I want the magic, the surprises, the whole experience.
Nintendo has already shown me way more than I’m comfortable with even with just the first trailer. One of the parts that bothered me the most is all the gameplay footage for the temples, specially the Forest Temple. One of the most iconic and my favorite 😪
At this point, I’m going into witness protection until I get my copy. 😂 HURRY UP NOVEMBER 5! 🙄
Edit: The screenshot is from the new trailer, not some never seen before image, guys. I don’t have that kind of power 😅

Proud dad moment. Last night, my 6.5 YO son took down the king of evil and returned peace to Hyrule.
We played Ocarina of Time together for the past 5 months and he stuck with it. He never would have been able to get through without me gently guiding him (frequent, but vague hints rather than "go here, do that"), but I only had to beat one boss for him (Bongo Bongo is way tougher than I remember)!
He's hyped to try another, but I told him I'd be helping less with the next one - we'll see how that goes. Majora's Mask is most likely the next just because he wouldn't have to relearn controls.
It's been a terrific journey and a fantastic bonding experience for us. These memories are here to stay.

No matter how many Zelda games I play, Keese will always be Zubats to me.

They added fences to the falling ceiling in the Forest Temple, presumably to prevent the player from trying to jump on top. You *couldn't* actually get on top in the original game with a backflip unless you used the treasure chest for extra height, but it would void you out, and in Majora's Mask they added a burning top to it. It also kinda functions to obscure your view from the rest of the room.

Now it looks like they warn you with a purple light instead of the growing shadow from the original game. And when the light starts flashing and gets brighter, the hand drops down much faster than it did in the original.
The most interesting change, though, is that it seems like you can now escape from their grasp. At first, I thought this was a bad change, but the more I think about it, the more I think it’s actually a good thing. Even though we can now escape from their grasp, I think they’ll catch us more easily in the first place, so it kind of balances things out.
What do you guys think?
