Hello! And welcome to r/OcarinaOfTime, the subreddit for the discussion of the game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a game produced by Shigeru Miyamoto for the Nintendo 64, Gamecube, 3DS and Switch from 1998 - 2021.
Now, you may be wondering why this subreddit has suddenly been made public after laying dormant for over 9 years. As of today, this subreddit is under new ownership, after being abandoned by it's previous owner.
In future I hope to grow this community, and I look forward to doing so.

One of the preview videos was kind enough to showcase the title screen, which was edited to add the official theme found of the Nintendo App. Enjoy!

With the Ocarina of Time remake dropping on November 5, 2026, Nintendo just revealed a brand new feature in the latest trailer: the Monster Hall. It's a museum-like facility where you can view every monster and boss you've defeated, read up on their stats, and replay the boss fights with a built-in timer!
Since this is a totally new addition to the map, where do you think it is physically hidden in the world of Hyrule?
Could it be tucked away in a secret chamber inside Kakariko Village graveyard, hidden beneath the Desert Colossus, or maybe built into an expanded section of Hyrule Castle Town?
Drop your best theories below on where we'll discover the Monster Hall.

So, if I understand the ending correctly, after Link defeats Ganon and saves Hyrule, Zelda sends him back in time to his childhood, before any of that happened.
And that final scene where he meets young Zelda in the courtyard? She has no idea what they've been through together. She doesn't remember helping him as Sheik, their adventures, or defeating Ganondorf. None of it has happened for her yet.
Link is basically the only person in that timeline who remembers everything. All those people he helped, all those relationships he built, everything he went through to save Hyrule... and now he's back where he started.
And to make things even sadder, Navi leaves him too.
I know Link eventually warns Zelda about Ganondorf and prevents that future from happening, but there's something really sad about saving the world and then returning to a world where none of it happened.
It's a surprisingly bittersweet ending for such an incredible adventure.

has your enormous fish god become irritable as of late? has he started to eat everything you put in front of him? did he even eat your princess? sounds like the giant fish you worship for some reason may have come down with a bad case of Barinade. Barinade is a parasitic anemone that has a symbiotic relationship with Jellyfish creatures called Bari. it's like they always say, when life gives you Bari you make Barinade.
try asking your doctor about hero of time. hero of time works from the inside, making his way through your goofy fish deity while attacking all parasites before arriving at Barinade. Hero of time works fast, destroying Barinade with his boomerang (boomerang sold separately) and saving your princess while he's at it.
side effects may include nausea, internal stab wounds from the hero's sword, loss of your royal family's spiritual stone, and the princess falling madly in love with the hero. hero of time does not prevent your huge fish god from going missing in the event of your entire civilization freezing over. ask your doctor if Hero of time is right for your divine fish freak.

Has anyone seen any information about what NPCs do as nighttime approaches given that time passes in towns now? I’ll admit I’ve tried to stay away from some of the previews, but from what I can tell, there is no confirmation as to whether they have a full routine or if they simply cut away via loading screen like when you play the suns song. I find it odd if no previews mention this, given they were able to play in the market. Perhaps this is something they weren’t allowed to highlight or film?

Good sign for them keeping the creepy vibe of the original. Imagine what the Dead Hands will look like.

I am beyond excited for the release of Ocarina of Time on the Switch 2. I am a long time Zelda fan, and have incredibly fond memories playing the original N64 as a kid. There is so much nostalgia associated with this game particularly. Times were simple. I didn't have to worry about bills or taxes or if my back will hurt from sleeping in the wrong way. I have replayed OoT multiple times, and I am always brought back to my cozy couch in my childhood home with those simple days.
The remake looks how I imagined it as a kid. The game is gorgeous! Do you think we will still be transported back to those original days as current replays do?
Just a couple more weeks and we will have our answer!

This is kind of random but I’m just totally pumped from this new trailer and preview footage, but by far the biggest thing that surprised me that I’ve see NO one talk about is the deku tree’s voice, I mean???
When he started speaking at the end of the trailer when the camera panned away from Link’s house I got chills, I mean the cutscenes with him speaking are just going to be so cool, anyone else also love the Deku tree’s voice??

Din’s Fire aside (which looks very cool btw), the thing that really intrigues me about this clip is the music.
So far, everything we’ve heard have been extremely faithful orchestrations of the original midi tracks. But this clips shows that, at least in the Sacred Forest Meadow, there’s a variation of the Lost Woods theme that’s more slowed down and melancholic (we heard what’s presumably the “main version” of it in the Zelda Direct from last month, which is a lot more upbeat like the OG).
This gets me really excited to see if there are more varied musical arrangements depending on the area you’re in. I’d love to see areas like Zora’s River, Lake Hylia, or Death Mountain have their own themes now rather than reusing Hyrule Field. Or even some new arrangements between the kid era and adult era, similar to what they do with Kakariko in the original.

One change I’m not happy with. It completely defeats the purpose of them. What’s the point if you can see them coming? It kills the atmosphere for me. Not only that but link can now fight out of them by button mashing.
I really hope they don’t go overboard with “streamlining” this game like they did with MM3DS

OOT is my favorite game. I’ve beaten it countless times on every system it’s been on, N64, GameCube, 3DS, and now NSO before NS2 launch. I’m 1/3 done, just beat the Forest Temple. I forgot about the hands dropping from the ceiling! Anyone else replaying before Nov 5?
