A 24 year old allegedly drunk driver (Vallabh Bodke) lost control and rammed straight into parked vehicles on MIT College Road in Kothrud, injuring a woman in the process. Bystanders ended up beating him up on the spot before the cops pulled up and detained him. When are people in this city finally gonna stop driving hammered?

The government, PMC, and collectors are boasting about the development of the city. But at what condition? And at what consequences?

I still remember when I was a child, people from Mumbai used to come to Pune during summer vacations because Pune's climate used to be pleasant as compared to Mumbai. But when I see it today, the condition of Pune has by far the worst in the country. Unplanned urbanization, huge building constructions, enormous tree cutting this all is making the city the worst to stay.

I really miss my old city. If we keep going like this I'm afraid the city infrastructure will totally collapse in the next 5 yrs..

I came to Pune from Bangalore for a trip, and I was surprised to see so many people riding bikes without helmets, even in the heart of the city. Is helmet enforcement not strict in Pune, or do the police take action against these violations? Just curious to know what locals think about this.

As a tenant you are treated like a 3rd grade citizen in the society by the Home owners. If you try to give any input for the betterment, everyone starts asking"who are you, where do you stay, you don't have any right to demand things etc"

My owner doesn't have a dedicated parking for his unit. Before getting it on rent the broker promised everything, even showed one parking. Later we realised it was someone else's and we were asked to vacate the parking. 1 week of lafda then the owner gave us another parking. Now, again the same thing is happening. Society manager says I'll put a jammer on the car and fine you. Owner is nowhere to be found due to a "family emergency". Broker is not picking calls at all. Have no option but to park the car on the road.

But when the agreement time comes they suddenly turn into hungry lions. 12% increase every year, no negotiation. Broker also took "re-brokerage" which we reduced after a lot of negotiations.

Before anyone says "just leave" we are staying here for our child's school.

So this happened two hours ago. I was crossing the maruti chowk and suddenly a scooty driver with full speed tried to cross the chowk and met with an accident with a cab driver.

I always try to honk crossing these kinds of chowks and look both ways. And somehow I saw this coming and due to which I was able to apply the brakes on time otherwise this would have a very different story for me.

Today while returning home from an evening walk, an arrogant bloke was trying to run his motorcycle by me while walking on footpath in Magarpatta (MH 12 VP 7487). I told him to go from below, just as others are going peacefully (as evident from the background). He started arguing with me and telling me boldly to take more video/photo of his bike. I replied calmly by stating I have it already taken and thats enough. Then I started walking further down the footpath and observed him barrelling down in my direction at high speed.. He then hit brakes right in front of me.. I pushed him hard such that his bike and he himself fell on the ground.. fortunately my society was nearby and fled the scene quickly to avoid any further confrontation with this stupid arrogant a$ $hole. Any friends of this guy on this forum - please inject some basic civic sense and manners in him!

Taking tomorrow (Friday) off and heading out for a 3-day ride from Pune from Oct 16 (Friday morning) to Oct 18 (Sunday).

The main spark for the trip is visiting Pratapgad for the Mashal Mahotsav / Navratri festivities at the fort. From there, the plan is wide open—I'm keen to explore Mahabaleshwar and then descend down the ghats to hit the Konkan beaches (Harihareshwar / Shrivardhan / Diveagar side) for Saturday and Sunday before heading back to Pune.

Tentative Route & Flow:

Day 1 (Friday): Pune -> Shirwal -> Wai -> Pasarni Ghat -> Pratapgad Fort (Mashal Mahotsav vibe & fort exploration) -> Night stay around Mahabaleshwar / Poladpur.

Day 2 (Saturday): Early morning viewpoints around Mahabaleshwar -> Descend the ghats toward the Konkan coast -> Coastal roads, beach sunset, and overnight stay near the beach (Harihareshwar/Diveagar belt).

Day 3 (Sunday): Morning by the sea -> Scenic climb back up through Mangaon / Tamhini Ghat (or Varandha/Bhor) -> Return to Pune by Sunday evening.

I'm not sure if this is the right sub for this, but honestly, I just wanted to put this out somewhere.

Life's been feeling a bit too overwhelming lately. Work, responsibilities, family expectations, business… everything feels like it's piling up, and I'm just mentally exhausted.

I don't want advice, motivation, or a lecture about how everything will be fine. I just want to get out for a bit, sit somewhere peaceful, and not have to think about anything for a while.

If you know any quiet places in Pune where I can just sit, be by myself, and have some peace, please suggest them.

And if anyone else is going through something similar, I hope things get easier for you, too.
