Currently, my iPad Pro is running iPadOS 26.7.1.
But I can experience frame drops quite easily like what I uploaded...

So I'm wondering it is worth updating my iPad to iPadOS 27...

iPadOS 27 and iPad Pro with an M chip are by far the closest we can get to a MacBook. If you own an iPad (especially most recent ones), I recommend trying out monitor support. What I have here is a 4K Ultrawide 34’ Display, hooked up to a 13’ iPad Pro M4. Running YouTube, Safari, Photos, Files, and CapCut (iPad edition) at the same time.

Does it run perfectly? No. It is a nightmare to adjust windows, you can feel it struggling under load, lack of settings and drivers makes it impossible to use some devices. But… it still does what you want it to do, one way or another. Insane to me how it can do all of that and still hold the ‘thinnest Apple device’ title.

We will probably see comments under this entry saying it isn’t macOS, so let me tell you this. It isn’t and it doesn’t have to be! I haven’t had a MacBook since 2024, and don’t need one when I own a PC. But seeing what it can do, I might use it more for less complicated tasks.

The HomeView looks so satisfying even with large bezels because for the iPad you'd have to get the Pro so that the corner looks good

Although if the iPad did follow that, it won't have the same corner radius as the iPhone I think they have the same corner they didn't scale it up

I'm not sure where this problem originates. It started before the most recent ios update, it occurs on all apps (here you see screenshots from cosmos.so and amazon), and it's driving me nuts. I can't go back a screen without finagling my way past the standard 'close-minimize-full screen' icon set. Usually I end up closing the app and having to open it again. Has anybody had this problem and more important: know how to fix it?

My bottle leaked inside my bag with my ipad, i tried charging it right after i found out and got no alerts, a few hours later i got the moisture alert, ive kept in upstraight in standing position over a flat surface for 12hours. Now im keeping it in rice

So I'm about to start my med school and I'm planning to get the iPad Air M4, but I genuinely can't decide between the 11-inch and 13-inch.

The 13-inch seems so much better for studying because of the bigger screen. I'll mainly be using it to watch lectures, make notes, annotate PDFs, read textbooks and obviously watch movies and stuff. I feel like having that extra screen space would be really nice, especially when studying.

But my only concern is portability. I know it'll fit in my backpack, so carrying it to classes isn't really the issue. I'm more concerned about using it during clinical postings and stuff later on, like ward rounds or history-taking. Would the 13-inch feel too bulky in those situations?

The 11-inch seems more practical, and I like that it's easier to carry around, but I'm worried I'll regret not getting the bigger screen once I actually start studying on it.

Am I overthinking this, or is the size difference actually something that matters in med school? 😭

I'd love to hear from people who've used either size, especially med students. Which one did you get, and would you choose the same size again?

I need to know what is the best note taking app that provides high value for free , for example no limited files ,so I need to know what is the best option if I am not gonna spend any money

Is anyone else extremely annoyed by the recent YouTube UI update on iPadOS?
On landscape mode, the video grid on channel pages and feeds now only displays 2 columns. The thumbnails and fonts are needlessly massive, making it feel uncomfortable to browse and significantly reducing the amount of content visible on screen.
It looks like YouTube pushed this layout without giving us any toggle to adjust the grid size or column numbers.
Has anyone found a workaround for this (other than using Safari)? Also, please consider sending feedback to YouTube so their dev team addresses this UI issue ASAP.

Hey guys I just wanted to ask what notes app is better notability or good notes. For reference I’m a college student doing science major and will be doing o chem and biochem eventually. Which one is best for studying and overall gives better functions. I wanted to ask specifically about these two apps but I’ve seen people talk about other apps in this subreddit as well

My iPad Air 4 was stolen, and my sister is upgrading to the M4 iPad Air, so she’s giving me her old iPad Pro 2020 with the A12Z chip.
Since I’ll be using it as my main iPad, I’m wondering how well the 2020 iPad Pro is holding up on iPadOS 27.

My iPad is like 4 ish yrs old. Perfect condition. Literally don’t even drop it. Like it’s pristine I take great care of all my devices.

I started the new prime Carrie remake and all of a sudden it starts bugging out. Siri is being activated. I can’t use Touch ID. Can’t even shut off the iPad by pressing the button.

Pls why is it doing this any solutions?

I did use a small amount of rubbing alcohol to clean around the buttons but nothing works 🤕🤕

I asked a local shop about the problem he check the chargers & the shocket is fine & he charged with another adopter about 20-30w but problem remains same.& Suggest to go apple centre to replace the battery. If any one whats about the replacement cost at apple centre or to go other third part repair shop .. any one pls help if anyone from india rather it would be better

Can anyone recommend and antiglare cover that is easy to take off and on. iPad lives inside 90% of the time. On a number of weekends it's taken out of the house and used outdoors in sunny conditions. Is there a case or something that allows me to put on something to eliminate glare and then take it off pretty easily when back inside? Thanks. Edit: Not using Apple Pencil.

Hi there. Looking to get some help and clarity from the community. Just opened up my iPad 10th Gen after not using it for a few weeks and was looking to update it. Found it basically dead without actually using it and that a bunch of the system data and iOS is taking up a ton of space, which is very very new. Anyone else have this happen or did I get some sort of bug?

So about a week ago, I lost my Apple Pencil 2nd generation in my dorm room.

I searched everywhere but couldn’t find it so I ordered a new one from eBay for £15.

I got it in the mail yesterday and when I attached the Apple Pencil 2nd gen to my iPad, it didn’t properly connect to the iPad.

I’ve restarted the iPad a few times, reset network settings but still doesn’t connect.

I only get the Apple Pencil sign at the top of the screen (have a look in the picture provided)

What should I do to make it work?

I travel relatively frequently and often, I’ve got to travel with my work machine (to work remote), a 16” Pro that’s rather heavy.

I have been taking my personal MacBook (a 14” Pro) along with it so I can do my personal things like manage my budget software, travel plan, browse, manage HOA things, etc. If I weren’t so uncomfortable doing personal things on the work machine, I’d only bring the one. But alas…

It’s just so cumbersome to carry those two chonkers…along with the iPad Pro 11” (3rd gen) that my spouse and I use for watching media, mainly on the plane, but sometimes in the hotel.

I’ve been thinking about upgrading to a newer iPad Pro and thought I could get the Magic Keyboard Case and replace my MacBook while traveling. BUT when I went to an Apple Store to check it out (the 13” version)…my god it’s the same weight as a MacBook Air!

Even the 11” with Magic Keyboard was far heavier than I imagined. Obviously, we’re still talking much lighter than carrying both an 11” iPad Pro and a MacBook Pro…but I gotta admit, I was somewhat disheartened by the weight generally.

So I guess my question is, is the Magic Keyboard the best case to use if I’m treating it like a MacBook replacement? Is the extra weight worth it or are there better cases out here with minimal compromises, but significantly lighter?

2nd gen Pencil, tried to connecting but I got the hovering pencil animation. Not sure if this is because it is dead or fake. Serial numbers checked out, when I connect it partially to my iPad, it can detect the serial number and it matches which is really the only reason im still wondering if it is a fake or not. Serial number inside the tip matches what’s shown on screen and what was on box. Font looks legit, packaging looked legit. I really thought it was the real deal until I saw that gap between the end and the base of the pencil. If this is a fake this is truly magnificent work. Would like a second opinion from Reddit so I can stop coping at the idea that this is real.

Hi people :) I've bought a second hand iPad Air 11'' (M3) from a guy that used it less than one year, basically I still have the first year of warranty provided by Apple ending in November, and the second year of European warranty provided by MediaWorld (the shop where he bought it). When I bought it the first thing that I checked was the battery health: 99% with around 100 cycles. I never had an iPad before, but I immediately noticed the battery was draining very fast, so I brought it to an Apple Store to fix the problem. They checked it with their diagnosis, and didn't find any issue.

Since the problem persisted, I made a test by myself: I disabled Background App Refresh for all apps, brightness at 50%, nothing open except a YouTube video with a timer and an external camera recording at the situation: the battery went from 100% to 0% in 4 hours and 15 minutes. I went back and argued that the fact that their diagnostics don’t detect a problem doesn’t mean there isn’t one, since on the Apple website it says up to 10 hours of video playback on Wi-Fi, and with my test I get less than half of that. I know Apple’s numbers come from specific test conditions and real-world usage is always a bit lower, but here we’re talking about less than half of what they advertise. They told me they would send it in again, and today I saw on the assistance website that "No issue was found", so now I have to go pick it up with the same problem.

What I wanted to ask you: Are my expectations too high about the battery performance or this is a normal situation? Because if there's a way to claim my rights I would keep pushing, otherwise if this is the standard, I would sell it again on the second hand market, since it's not in line with what I am looking for. As a compromise, the owner decided to purchase a secondhand iPad of the same model to use as a motherboard donor. However, he later offered to swap the entire unit for an additional ₱9,000 instead.

The catch is that the replacement iPad is an LL/A variant, along with other factors that need to be considered, such as the unit’s purchase date, condition, and overall value.

**Given the circumstances, is accepting the ₱9,000 unit swap a fair and reasonable deal, considering that the damage occurred while the iPad was under the technician’s care?**

i turned off the camera accessibility when locked after i got the iPad, but i just found out that if you suddenly swipe from the right outermost edge of the screen, like aggressively, the camera will still open lol. what’s up with that?
