Apps Thumbnails are ridiculously huge
Is anyone else extremely annoyed by the recent YouTube UI update on iPadOS?
On landscape mode, the video grid on channel pages and feeds now only displays 2 columns. The thumbnails and fonts are needlessly massive, making it feel uncomfortable to browse and significantly reducing the amount of content visible on screen.
It looks like YouTube pushed this layout without giving us any toggle to adjust the grid size or column numbers.
Has anyone found a workaround for this (other than using Safari)? Also, please consider sending feedback to YouTube so their dev team addresses this UI issue ASAP.

Just got an iPad a month or so ago and I’m not sure why anyone is using the YouTube app. It’s just a blown up version of the iPhone app and so restrictive. The YouTube site on Safari is so much better and it lets you use extensions like SponsorBlock and UnTrap for an even better experience.

the app does handle picture in picture better than safari though, thats mostly why people stick with it

I think this is an occasional bug. I see this from time to time, but right now I have the three-column layout.

YouTube usually does a/b testing on stupid stuff like this, it’s YouTube’s fault and it’s intentional
