Pre-orders officially start tomorrow at 5am PT/8am ET, but you can pre-pre-order by using the Apple Store app, or Apple website to lock in your pre-order choices (including color option, storage, payment method, etc.). You have until 9pm PT/12am ET to do this.

Apple Intelligence Siri is so bad at everything
There's nothing like havin an iPhone in your pocket, an AWU at your wrist, headphones on and telling Siri to call someone, calling, talking, hanging up and then asking Siri to call another person inly to hear "You need to unlock your phone first!". Well, I choose to direct my anger and frustration at all the product managers, designers and programmers that have Apple stock and live their lifes in Silicon Valley luxury while being totally bad at their jobs.

Rumor OLED MacBook Pro Won't Get M7 Chips Until Late 2027
Apple is "pretty much done" with M6 chips, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reiterated today on his podcast. Apple debuted the M6 chip in the Mac mini and has plans for an M6 iMac and entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro, but the company is not planning to make M6 Pro, M6 Max, or M6 Ultra chips.
Apple will instead go from the M5 Pro, M5 Max, and M5 Ultra to the M7 lineup. The upcoming OLED MacBook Pro models will use the same M5 Pro and M5 Max chips Apple uses in the current MacBook Pro models, with no chip upgrade planned until 2027. The M5 Pro and M5 Max came out in March.

Apple Intelligence Siri is worse
I’m a huge Apple fan who is very disappointed in Siri AI after the 2 year wait. Siri is slower than it used to be, even on my new iPhone and Apple Watch. It’s barely contextual; it really just present web searches. It doesn’t have any conversational replies.
Gemini is a million times better.

Apple Intelligence “Hey siri, delete all voicemails offering me a loan” PLEASE
I get 10 voicemails a day. My vm is constantly full. Such a pain to delete them while trying not to delete the important one. Let’s out AI to use.. i already have the transcribed text for it to parse.

Discussion HomeView will only allow CarPlay apps that are specifically for streaming audio or video
Apple quietly updated their CarPlay developer documentation to reference the new HomeView device. It will only support apps focused on streaming audio (e.g., Spotify) or streaming video (e.g., Netflix). It will not support apps for communications (e.g., WhatsApp), food ordering (e.g., DoorDash), or conversational AI (e.g., ChatGPT). Apple is enforcing this by requiring specific CarPlay entitlements for an app to run on the HomeView.
Maybe these restrictions will change down the road—I sure hope so—but flagging it now since folks are considering whether to preorder.
