I just picked up this M&p 2.0 full-size metal. Grabbed it off of tac swap. Looking to do a couple things. My other M&p as an Apex trigger kit I’m looking to get the Apex trigger kit for this, but with the agency trigger shoe. I’m just torn on optic. What are yall running on your set up?

Found this on Guns.com and it was TRASHED. rust, pitting, aluminum finish coming off. So I rescued it. Not a bad turnout.

I friggin' love the Shield Plus. I shoot it better than pretty much any other pistol I own. I am reasonably certain this is due to the design of the grip, the length of pull, and the trigger design itself.
What I'm trying to figure out is what the closest thing is to a "full size" Shield Plus. Like, conceptually, a "Shield Plus XL" or something. Same or very nearly the same style grip, similar length of pull and trigger design, but in a full-size frame with 17/20 capacity and something like a 5in or at least a +4in barrel and slide. Ideally with an option for a threaded barrel, too, in case I wanted to shoot it suppressed.
Does such a gun exist? Is the M&P 2.0 the closest thing? Or is it more like the Shield X, which gives greater capacity but only 0.5in more barrel length? Is there some after-market jerry rigged solution out there?
Here's hoping you fine folks can offer some insight here. I've been wanting to try out the M&P 2.0 either in the 4", 4.25" or 5" configuration, but most of the ranges around me don't seem to have one available to rent, nor do they have the Shield X.

Hit the range today and was having some issues seating a mag with one in the chamber. Ive put a couple hundred rounds through it already during a couple sessions. I was about 120 rounds into it today and had an issue when i locked the slide back, put one in the chamber, dropped the slide the. Tried to put in a full mag it wouldnt go in all the way. I know it can be tight with a dropped slide and can usually just slap it in but couldnt this time. Id drop the mag,and try to fire the chambered round but it acted like it already triggered and wouldnt fire. I tried this a few times. One time i slapped the mag in woth an open slide and it dropped without hitting the release. Are these issues with the BG in general or maybe just some fouling or an out of spec bullet i chambered keeping the slide from dropping all the way

Local Pawn Store has a ‘Springfield’ built, BMC serial number (after 1997) model 41 in good condition. $799 with 1 mag, no box. Am I gaining anything over a Ruger Mk4 22/45 competition (6-7/8” barrel). I don’t need another gun but the price is attractive. Top is not drilled for a red dot.

With the M&P 2.0 Competitor Steel HD I consistently run into my thumb, specifically the thumb "knuckle" (CMC joint, basal joint, the portion closest to the rest of the hand) rising up a touch and getting split with the reciprocating slide. I run into this issue with some other firearms that do not feature a beavertail. I was under the impression you want to get a high purchase with your dominant hand. Do I need to instead bring it down a smidge? It feels wrong to hold the firearm in this manner. My current theory is this slide bite issue is a result of the unique structure of my hand, if it isn't some fundamental misunderstanding about proper grip.
If it is a result of my unique hand, is there a custom gun smith out there that can make a permanent beavertail on a steel frame?

Snagged this 2.0 .40L slide stripped for $60 (thanks GAFS). I plan to port it, so I want a good barrel, but my only experience is with the M&P9's. I know the 1.0 9mm barrels are pretty bad (Ive had 4 of them), and the 2.0 9's are fine, but how are the 2.0 factory .40 barrels? Debating between the factory barrel which ive seen around $100/$110, or a KKM black which is like $220.
Other reccomendations-
Has anyone used the Apex extractor?
Has anyone used the EB Lightened striker?
Also hmu if you've got leads on decent parts new/used.

I recently started concealed carrying with the shield plus. I absolutely love this gun and don’t want to CC anything else but I’m on my third holster and these things are miserable. I’ve tried wearing it at 3:00, 4:30, 5:30 and 6 and everywhere I go this holster just digs into me. I’m about 6 1/2 feet tall, 250 pounds. I’m not a small guy. I’m not fat but I’m not skinny. Typical 40 year-old dad bod. I read a lot of good reviews about the CYA holsters and I don’t think I’m wearing this thing wrong but does anyone have any suggestions? I’m also not going to be able to wear this thing at noon or 1 o’clock. I know that already. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Took her for a spin since NCENGRAVERS did some inline porting for me. I am very pleased with this thing. After the Apex trigger broke in, it shot great. This is my new favorite striker fired pistol.

The title says it all. My Smith & Wesson Model 19-4. Polished nickel, I think? Being a gun guy for 30 years, I embarrassingly know nothing about my revolver. I have the serial #, but can’t seem to pin down when it was made.
It was my dad’s. He passed in 2011 & it became mine, among many others. I haven’t done a thing to it except swap the wood scallops out with these VZ G10 grips. They’re nice, but a little chunky.
It shoots like a dream. I keep it ready-to-go with Federal Hydra-Shok .357Mag obviously. But I run .38 wadcutters at the range. Easy peasy.
That’s all, I guess…

Has anyone tried this?

Fresh from being cerekoted.
Extra weight balances well and doesnt take away from the polymers ability to easily transition between targets over the steel frame.
Will shoot a match tomorrow and see how it all runs together.

This thing fuckin rocks. Definitely pulled left on my first 2-300 rounds ( she’s got a lot of bite for such a little pistol ! ) but i’m getting the hang of
things now at 6-700 put through.
Love it for my EDC.
(the .22 bullet holes in pic #2 are my boyfriend’s, he loves my pink gun too though 😜)

I’ve got a thousand or so rounds through my BG 2.0 and love it. Are there any metal aftermarket triggers out there available or only Galloway’s polymer one?
Pictured is the bodyguard with some of its Sig brothers.

My Mk22 "Hush Puppy" project just got it's new suppressor-height sights, just need to do a bit more finish work before it's really where I want it. the guy who made the sight bodies made them out of stainless which sorta complicates things... To truly finish this project I'll need to find the cheapest M39-2 frame I can get my hands on, since I can't easily put a slide lock on this M59 frame, and I've already sunk way too much money into this. I guess I also need to get my hands on a suppressor in New York, but that's the easy part, right?
For those wondering, the frame is a Model 59, the slide is from a 2nd gen Model 459 with the magazine and firing pin safety plungers removed, the rear sight body is the same as for any 2nd or 3rd gen adjustable sights, the barrel is from Greg's Grips, and the suppressor height sights (front sight and rear sight base) I got from some guy on eBay who had just happened to make a set. I'm 99% sure he's the same dude that's making some of the parts Greg's been selling on his website, but idk. I believe they were moreso intended for a 5906, hence why they're stainless, but "bluing" stainless steel is honestly easier than regular carbon steel, so I can get it to match decent enough for me. I'm going for a weathered look anyway since this is imitating a 'Nam era service pistol.

I was wondering if somebody could measure the width and depth of an M&P9 magazine for me. I'm posting two photos as examples of the measurements that I need (mag in the photo is not from an S&W M&P9)
