I purchased the Series 12 (GPS) 42mm black aluminum and Iām enjoying it so far!
Are there any tips or tricks about the watch I should know about? I just spent about one hour reading the guide and messing with settings in the Watch app and on the watch itself.
I was expecting my order to arrive later this week, but when I noticed local stores suddenly had the white ceramic in stock, I rushed over to pick one up instead!
Just needed to say how surprised and happy I am with this cheap $10 magnetic sports band I got off Amazon. Had been using the default Apple rubber band and thought it was comfy but never fully fit perfectly. I found myself always switching between using the 4th or 5th hole, cause sometimes I wanted it looser and other times more tight.
But then I randomly decided to buy this cheap $10 sports band off a whim, and after half a day can already tell a huge difference. The fit is so much better and more comfortable that I can hardly tell Iām wearing my larger S11 watch, which is amazing!
My dad had a bad fall yesterday and went into the trauma ER yesterday. Just a couple of hours ago, we received messages that a bad fall was detected through the Apple Watch and when I checked the location of it, it was going down a highway driving near an airport before his watch died. We locked it and put it in lost mode and rang the ringer before it died. I messaged the emt that took my dad into the hospital (he called me earlier to tell me what was going on) & he told me he saw it on my dad before he left the hospital. The charge nurse only noted that it had my dads phone on him. What more can I do to figure out what happened? Do hospitals have cameras?
Years ago I got an Apple Watch Series 6 as a gift, and it's what got me back into sport: first a few easy runs, then some bike rides, then some bodyweight workouts. Over time I came to appreciate the sport itself far more than just tracking my progress. Time went by, and my Apple Watch helped with everything, from work reminders to sports metrics to controlling my AirPods. But the battery started to give out, and since I'd become a passionate cyclist by then, I switched to a Garmin Forerunner. It's a solid watch, especially for sport, but definitely limited for everything else, though I have to admit the battery lasted a week or more.
Then I moved on to the new Google Fitbit Air, which was also quite nice (mostly because it let me wear my mechanical watches), but despite the excellent app, it didn't fully convince me either. So I decided to go back to Apple with the new Apple Watch Series 12, and it honestly feels like coming home. The battery is surprising (for an Apple Watch), and now I have to dig into all the new features. I have to admit it's a really nice product.
I purchased the Series 5 (GPS) 40mm rose gold 100% battery health not replaced, and Iām enjoying it so far! yeah itās old 10.6OS but i can deal with it
any tips ?
On October 11 I bought Apple Watch Ultra 2 at iosys used tech store in Japan, but since Monday itās been randomly playing Linking Park Wake exactly at 13:10 every day. Sadly I donāt have the video of this yet.
I have Minutes to Midnight downloaded on my phone (but I donāt think this matters)
Upgraded from a Series 7 to the Series 12 in Dark Bronze. Pairs nicely with the Burgundy strap (which is a bit lighter in reality compared to this photo).
After lot of research finally got the Series 12 46mm GPS. Need some help finding bands for it, I am thinking of getting the nike sports loop or the apple watch ultra desert alpine loop. Would Apple Watch Ultra bands work and fit fine on 46mm.
I have been pretty ill with what seems to be a viral infection since Sunday evening. Looking back at my Apple Watch Vitals data, the first outlier appeared on Friday morning, from Thursday nightās sleep. I felt absolutely fine at that point.
By Sunday evening I was properly ill, with exhaustion, aches, night sweats and a raised temperature. My heart rate, respiratory rate and wrist temperature were all showing unusual readings.
Whatās interesting is that Iāve gone back through a yearās worth of data and Iāve only had one respiratory rate outlier before this illness in around a year since it began tracking. Ignore the low outliers on the historical pic as that relates to night I went to bed late.
Even drinking alcohol hasnāt produced anything like this pattern.
Now that Iām starting to feel better, the readings are returning to normal too. The graphs track the illness perfectly.
Iāve been reading about studies showing that wearables can detect physiological changes several days before symptoms develop, so apparently this isnāt particularly unusual.
It does make me wonder what I should do next time I get an outlier while feeling perfectly healthy. Carry on as normal, or take it easy for a couple of days? And could resting earlier actually make an illness less severe?
Added my buddies dawg as watch face, my new Series 12 Apple Watch in Space Gray and found a good condition Apple leather link band in Midnight. One last grail band to find is 45 mm Baltic Blue in S/M. Loving the new watch found out how to play YouTube videos too!
Since the iOS 27 update and the issues with the workouts, if I were to order a replacement through apple care, would I be able to not update it when I set it up or would I have to update it to iOS 27 to restore from backup?
So i had an apple watch before (my mom bought me one because I got good grades 7/8 years ago).
I got myself one after my husband was telling me to get one over and over again for working out. So naturally I got myself and him one and I am so happy. Thing is, I need a new band. I donāt like the apple band in black and I did a stupid thing and ordered myself the M/L and not the S/M size.
Which one should I get? I am currently using one of my husbands old bands because the band I have is too big.
So Iāve been looking for a decent tamagotchi-style pet for my Apple Watch for a while, but honestly most apps on the App Store are either full of random ads/subscriptions or just look like those generic pink cartoon cats.
Not really my thing, so I decided to spend a couple of weekends building one myself.
A few things I focused on while making this:
- It won't die on you: I hate when virtual pets guilt-trip you for being busy. If you don't use it, it just goes to sleep on your watch face instead of dying.
- Steps = Energy: You feed it simply by walking around (via HealthKit). No microtransactions to buy virtual food.
- Haptics: I spent way too much time tweaking CoreHaptics so when you tap the screen, it gives a really crisp haptic rumble that feels like the creature is actually reacting inside the watch.
- OLED friendly: Pure black background so it doesn't kill your battery. Works as a native complication on Modular / Ultra watch faces.
Itās built 100% natively in SwiftUI and runs entirely on the watch without needing your phone nearby.
Iām hoping to get a small group to try it out soon to test battery usage on different watch sizes.
Would love to get some feedback or ideas on what kind of evolutions/creatures I should draw next!
Also open to any feedback or ideas on what kind of evolutions/creatures I should draw next. Cheers!
i updated the watch to the newest software and since then the autosleep app gets no more data. i already checked if its still allowed to access the data in the health app but no changes there so i wonder what happened?
My wrist size: about 16cm
Battery life looks very good for the model, been 24h since last full charge and still at 30% (first day of use btw)
1000 nits peak brightness is not a problem even in direct sunlight (photo attached).
One thing thats annoying me is thats you cant just take a glance at the watch and check your heart rate, you have press the heart to bring it up.
I know it is not shiny anymore it doesnāt look pristine it has some scratches and stuff and the battery is at 80 and you know it wonāt get watchOS 27 the new health features but this is a reminder to everyone that your current watch is still really nice donāt get FOMO by all those new watch pics in this sub!!!
Hi everyone! Iām a 20-year-old woman, and my Apple Watch recently recorded a VO2 max of 27.5 ml/kg/min, which Health classifies as āLowā for my age. I feel very cooked, idk if it is accurately because i have the watch for 8 days
I looked up VO2 max charts online and found information suggesting that low values are associated with a significantly increased risk of all-cause mortality. I saw a chart mentioning a 76% difference in risk, and it honestly scared me.
Iāve also experienced occasional dizziness and shortness of breath, sometimes during physical activity. My oxygen saturation has shown 99% on my Apple Watch.
Iām worried that this low VO2 max could indicate an underlying heart or lung problem, or even an increased risk of sudden cardiac arrest.
