Job search lasting forever…advice or tips?
I was laid off middle of last year and have been looking for work since then. I slowed down a bit while I finished my MBA earlier this year. I never had trouble getting a job before I lost my previous job (small tech startup). Now, I get constant no’s. I’m exhausted. I run every single thing through AI to make sure it will all pass ATS, that there aren’t any mistakes, etc. I tailor each resume and cover letter to the job I’m applying for. I’ve created work samples and a portfolio site. I will put tiny little details from the deepest depths of their websites or socials to show I’ve done research.
I’m going insane! I need a job so bad. I need health insurance. My husband is a vet and I need to help support him too and he’s getting tired of hearing “I’m still looking…”
I KNOW I’m not alone in this but it’s making me stressed as hell and not sure what to do?? I started with jobs I obviously would want to further my career, but I have been applying to literally anything now. I got turned down by a GM job and a part-time admin job…that I don’t even want but I’m desperate!
I guess can anyone give tips or advice, something I’m missing? Better place to find jobs? I have an agent scan every morning for jobs that are good fits and then I search myself on BuiltIn, Handshake (from when I was in graduate school), LinkedIn, Indeed, general google searches and just going to companies sites that I’m interested in.
