Everything.

Walking, breathing, talking, basic human things.

Then we can get into every single policy decision.

Obama was far from perfect, he made mistake, he did things I wouldn't have done, he didn't do things I would have.

But in every single way Obama is and was a better human not just President than Trump.

401

u/Vargrjalmer 1d ago

Y'all would call me right wing but I still think Obama was 10x better than trump

u/pfcgos 1d ago

We love an actual principled conservative instead of a blind MAGAt cultist

82

u/115zombies935 15h ago

Political leaning has got nothing to do with it. Obama actually seemed to care about humans. whereas Trump cares only about the money in his bank account.

26

u/pfcgos 14h ago

And yet, an entire political party and a lot of "conservatives" worship Trump and follow his every word.

This is the kind of republican I miss. I was independent until trump. I can't say I knew much about politics because I didn't know shit tbh. Trump pushed me to pay attention and learn. I miss decency so much.

remember hating W and now we would give anything for him?

55

u/AlienNinjaPanda 1d ago

As a Canadian I remember resenting W for us getting dragged into the middle east, and I sure do miss that silly little fella now.

It's like being excited when a neighbour who's a little loud and annoying moves out only to be replaced by a crackhead who threatens to shank you over the fence... the crackhead may also have children in the basement.

Not to mention he had opposition every step of the way. It was hard (not impossible ) to make impactful changes with republicans opposing / dismantling anything meaningful . For example “ Affordable Care Act/ObamaCare” was suppose to have better coverage and less cost but the republicans wouldn’t approve it until it was a shell of its original form. Think Medicaid.

The funny thing is, most poor MAGATS are still benefiting from even the mangled version of Obama Care but wanna talk sh*t about it.

16

u/Scottish-Gent 13h ago

Obama was not perfect. He did many things I disagreed with at the time. In hindsight though, they were good decisions. Even though I disagreed with him at the time, I considered him an honorable man because he loves this country because of the values it stands for and works to achieve; and he sought to unify us as a nation. Trump, on the other hand is not a man of honor. He loves himself and no one else, not the country or it's citizens. Trump cannot be trusted. Bottom line, I would never buy a used car from Trump nor would I let him date my daughter.

Maybe got other NATO countries to spend more.  Of course he did that while damages the alliance in a whole host of ways. Which lessened it's effect as a deterence.

Like their is a lot I don't like about Obama. But it's pretty hard to think of much he did (off the top of my head) that Trump hasn't either done worse or undercut any positive the next minute.

123

u/HHoaks 1d ago edited 1d ago

You don’t have to soft pedal it, with saying there’s stuff you don’t like about Obama. Which is likely referring to some policy positions or political actions you didn’t like.

As there is literally NO person in that position that would be 100% liked by everyone in all policies or political acts, simply due to the size and diverse nature of the country, and the need to appeal to many constituencies.

The difference with Trump is, he generally, and in all respects, both in and out of office, lacks honesty, integrity, decency, and respect for the rule of law. He’s clearly a con man, a criminal, lies constantly, is not a good hearted person, and clearly is out for only personal gain, greed and his own ego.

The same can’t be said about Obama. That’s all that needs to be said and known.

As individuals, as humans, in basic intelligence, Obama runs rings around Trump. That’s all that matters.

41

u/SoldierofZod 21h ago

This is what I've tried to explain the Trump supporters. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but we used to collectively insist on presidents being competent, qualified, and serious. Those were just the minimum requirements before most people would even consider voting for someone.

So, in that way, Trump is worse than every previous president. And by breaking that unwritten rule, he has ruined the prestige of the presidency and damaged the country immeasurably.

Fun fact, after Trump's actions and threats EU nations are stepping up their defence spending and buying from EU companies which has Trump all pissy.

Why wouldn't you buy from a unreliable company on a different land mass when you can buy local, create jobs and not have full control of supply chain.

u/Available_Ad9766 1d ago

→ More replies (31)

9

u/kemb0 23h ago

Yep the thing about the US demanding Europe spend more on defence was never about us offering equal power to the US for NATO and all about making Europe buy more US equipment.

But that’s backfired because now we’re investing more in our own home grown military tech, so ultimately we might even end up replacing US overseas sales of military hardware.

So once again Trump’s “success” is actually a failure.

During Trumps first term republicans had been blocking an extension of aid we were giving first responders that were harmed by 9/11 (you know, heroes).

John Stewart had a viral moment when he stuck up for the first responders and chewed out congress (the few who showed up to do their own job) and after that pressure Trump signed a deal giving them those benefits for the rest of their lives.

Health insurance.

Grocery prices.

Tariffs.

No false promises of $2,000 checks

No false promises of $5,000 checks to vote republican.

Deportations.

Wasn't obsessed with blowing taxpayer money on vanity projects.

Didn't hand out government contracts to family members, donors, and convicted criminal pals.

Not on the Epstein list.

Didn't commit treason.

Not a pathological liar.

Not a narcissist.

Not a fascist dictator wannabe.

Pretty much did everything better.

Obama was just a better president in every aspect. Some might even call him a great president. That's what makes trump and maga super jealous of Obama.

Obama DIDN’T start a pointless war with Iran. Didn’t hang out with a child trafficker. Didn’t put Russia’s interests over ours.

7

u/hillwoodlam 1d ago

In fact he signed a deal with Iran that prevented them from having nuclear weapons and the deal was proven internationally to be working.

I’d say flip that question around.
Name one thing Trump has done better than Obama.
I’ve got one:
Trump is a much better traitor than Obama. I mean Obama wasn’t even a little bit of a traitor. Trump has got Obama beat is being a traitor in every way.

5

u/Mission_Chard_5190 1d ago

Some would say the best traitor. The highest regarded traitors alive have asked him, they said, "sir, how are you the best traitor? Better than me? I thought i was a good traitor but your the best and you do it so easily".

No saying it’s good or bad but Obama diddddd deport more people…

Edit: sheesh chill. I’m not a fkn trump supporter. Just pointing out something Obama had higher stats on for something trump spewed to his base so hard

45

u/Interesting-Copy-657 1d ago

Yeah, thats the crazy thing

Obama deported more people WITHOUT all the drama and death trump caused

Either trump is bad at deporting people or he wanted to spread fear and hatred?

There is nothing with deporting illegal immigrants. The problem is treating them like animals, slaughtering them and locking them in cages.

9

u/Tweedlol 1d ago

☝🏻

But the republicans have sold their idiotic base on our opposition to treating them as garbage, as “wanting open boarders”

Obama, nor Biden, slept on immigration. Pretty sure crossings were down… but they convinced their base that less crossings meant we were doing less. It’s really quite absurd how dumb they are.

Without killing American citizens and immigrant and without sending immigrants to countries they'd probably never even heard of.

And without putting people in concentration camps.

6

Well for one thing he managed to find a way to restrict uranium enrichment in Iran and literally no shooting happened. At all. Additionally there was no disruption to the shipping of oil through the straight of hormuz and so energy costs remained down. Theres a long as list of other things, but this one is pretty topically relevant

How about just speaking eloquently, with respect, and intelligence.

Not to mention making speaches that inspire and unite not just America, but it's allies in other democracies.

Trump...well he spews fear, hate, and is utterly corrupt. He acts and speaks to like a willful child. I don't even want to go on, because it's all just awful and I can't stomach it for long.
