That was their money which we agreed to release to them in exchange for the deal. Iran never enriched past 3.7% during the jcpoa. After Trump reneged on the deal, Iran enriched up to 60%.

Iran never held to the deal to begin with. They would not allow the UN inspections that were in the deal.

That’s not true and is easily googled.

But isn’t Trump giving Iran billions in diesel money through Russia? Russia barely has working refineries because they were destroyed by Ukrainian drones.

Supposedly all the gas and diesel are imported by Iran and the very same fuel will be sold for billions of dollars to the US.

Russia refines their own oil.

Even by trump's logic, Iran didn't have a nuclear weapon, and we needed to keep them from getting one. So...It sounds like Obama did a fucking great job! 8 years out of his presidency and Iran still didn't have a weapon yet!

It was a return of Iranian assets seized by the US decades earlier. It functionally cost the US nothing. And Iran agreed to let inspectors in to verify their compliance.

Compare that to the ~$500 billion Trump has spent to try to do the same thing.

Still money they did not have until Obama let them. How did those inspections go?
