Does anyone know if my tickets for the ferry from Mahe to Praslin from 8 AM can be used for the 10 AM? My connecting flight got delayed 2 hours, so I am arriving later than initially planned, so I won't make it in time to catch the 8 AM one.

I emailed Catcocos,but so far, no answer :(.

First day here, praslin, and it’s raining since 12pm.

Forecast for the next days are very bad.

Really hope it changes.

EDIT: today has been great, even if the forecast was sunny morning into rainy afternoon. Sunny in the morning happened, we reached georgette and leave just few minutes before a light rain. Then had lunch close to anse bateau with a very nice sun and back to the hotel! With sun this island explode its beauty!

Any experiences? We would stay at Mahe and maybe take a flight to one more island. Flying directly from Europe. Baby is still sleeping a lot at this period and is not moving so we wanted to use this phase before the toddler phase beggins. Traveling in May. Thanks!

Hi! As title - trying to decide between these two for a mid Sept stay on Mahe.

We were initially also considering Carana Beach but I got a little concerned reading about 2 different reviews mentioning attempted robbery…

Would love any updated perspectives on this choice if possible. Priorities are - sense of seclusion/ exclusivity as we are on honeymoon (trying to avoid massive resorts), good location, good waters (not too rough..) on the beach nearby. For context, we were also recommended Constance but it’s a little out of budget (we want an ocean view room).

Hello guys, my girlfriend and I are coming in mid december on Praslin and I can’t find a solution on which car to rent. On one side I want a safe and good SUV like hyundai or suzzuki but on the other side I also want to feel the island with some convertible SUV. Also a huge factor is weather as well, if it is rainy a convertible might not be the best solution but I know if it will be sunny that I will regret not taking it although its more expensive.
Any advice will be appriciated.

If I land in Victoria, Mahe at 5:50 AM, is there any risk for me not to catch the ferry to Praslin at 08:00 from Cat cocos? I do have checked in bag so I will need to wait for it. I understood that it is easy to take a taxi from the airport to the ferry port.

I’m currently visiting the Seychelles and I’ve been using the SPTC app for the buses.
Today I noticed that my Transportation Account is showing a balance of -16 SCR (see screenshot).
Does anyone know why the account can go into a negative balance? I always used the Bus when I had enough credits.
Also, what happens if I simply don’t top it up again? We’re leaving the Seychelles soon and won’t need the bus anymore.
Is there any consequence to leaving the account at -16 SCR? Could it cause any problems, or is it simply a small outstanding balance?

We’re going to the Seychelles for our honeymoon on 18-27 November.

I’m scared about all what I hear recently about the weather and the chikungunya outbreak.
Recently, the Seychelles Meteorological Authority posted a news, saying the Q4 of 2026 will highly potentially have more rain than usual due to the El Niño.
Also, more rain means more mosquitos, so the chances to catch the chikungunya increase…

It’s our first trip to a tropical island, so I don’t know how to proceed. I’ve seen pretty much all the topics in this community, but usually they don’t take into account the special situation of this year.

Any advice?

Since we’ll be staying in apartments in the Seychelles, we’re thinking about bringing some food items from home for the first few days. We were thinking of bringing cereal, pasta, and a bread mix. The food items are, of course, completely sealed. Would this be allowed? If so, do we still need to declare them to customs upon arrival?

Hi all, visiting the Seychelles for the first time during the last week of October / first week of November. Colleagues had advised that this was a great time to visit (changeover season, calm winds, little rain) but when I check the weather it seems like the rainy season has already started. Is it as rainy as it looks online and is it better to postpone the trip?
