As men, what happened for you to stop being simps. And women too, what happened for you to stop caring much about men?

Your experiences may help someone who is currently doing what you were doing.

How do you pass job interviews good people?

How do you finally get through a job interview?

It's one rejection after another, and honestly, I've started losing hope that I'll ever pass a job interview.

I've attended several interviews and put effort into preparing for each one, but the results have been disappointing. At this point, I'm beginning to question what I'm doing wrong. Is it the way I answer questions, my ability to sell myself, or something else entirely?

For those who struggled with interviews before eventually getting a job, what changed for you? What helped you move from repeated rejections to finally getting selected?

I'd appreciate honest advice, practical tips, and experiences from people who have been in a similar situation.

Do you guys have businesses here which earn money in dollars/foreign currency?

Not that you charge fellow Malawians in dollars, but you actually have a market outside of Malawi? without having to say the business(unless you want to) how did you get started? how long have you been doing it? what's revenue like monthly? i'd really like to learn a thing or 2.

I see people ask about remote jobs, and jobs that earn them dollars, im curious about the business side of it though.

This discourse is sooo funny to me because women who are taking this stance are being publicly executed. The thing is sons have been preferred for years so why is it a problem when women prefer daughters?

Has anyone in Malawi ordered expensive electronics directly from Amazon?

I'm considering buying a new DJI Mini 3 drone for about $378, with approximately $40 shipping to Malawi. At checkout, Amazon says no import duty is required.

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have actually ordered from Amazon and received their packages in Malawi.

A few questions:

- Did your parcel arrive safely?

- Was it delivered to your address, or did you have to collect it?

- Did you have to pay any additional customs duties, VAT, or courier fees after checkout?

- Did you experience delays, missing parcels, or problems with customs?

- If you ordered something expensive, such as a phone, laptop, or camera, was the process straightforward?

Thanks!

advice Debt Collectors

I'm having trouble getting back money that I lent to someone last year. The usual cycle of false promises, ducking, then dodging has been in effect for over 14 months now, and I've never been more frustrated with another human being in my entire life.

To make matters worse, I found out too late that he has a reputation for this kind of thing, and this is his usual M.O. 🤦🏾‍♀️. Apparently, the last time this happened, his rich uncle had to pay off his numerous debts. I'm a step away from considering blasting his name, as it doesn't sit right with me that he's out there on socials masquerading as a stand-up guy when I'm on my knees begging for my own fucking money smh.

My question is, how much would engaging a debt collector set me back? If anyone can recommend someone reputable, please DM me with their contact information. The last time I reached out to one, they ghosted me after a bit, and I'd rather not get my hopes up again.

For those who got jobs abroad through the internet without using agents, which websites did you use, and what criteria did you follow to increase your chances of landing an opportunity?

Things are really not making sense here, and I'm honestly trying to find a way out. I randomly apply for jobs on different websites, but I haven't received either an interview invitation or a rejection letter.

What am I doing wrong, and what should I be doing differently? I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have successfully secured jobs abroad this way.

Where can I find 95 RON petrol in Malawi?

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know which fuel stations in Malawi sell 95

RON petrol (premium unleaded)?

I'm specifically looking for petrol with an octane rating of 95 RON rather than the standard 93 RON.

If you know a specific filling station that sells it, preferably in Lilongwe, please let me know the station's name and location.

Also, if you've bought 95 RON petrol in Malawi recently, I'd appreciate it if you could confirm whether it's still available.

Thanks in advance!

business & Economy Can some business be worth investing in?

Hi everyone!
I’m a 29-year-old entrepreneur currently based in South Africa, with a background in digital marketing, business operations, finance administration, international customer relations, and humanitarian and development work in Malawi and abroad.
I’m working on developing a fashion and lifestyle brand with plans to establish a presence in South Africa and eventually expand into Malawi and other markets. The vision is to build a distinctive brand with a diverse product range, a strong identity, and the potential to appeal to different customer demographics, from premium fashion to everyday casual wear.At this stage, I’m interested in connecting with potential angel investors, business partners, or entrepreneurs who have experience in fashion, retail, manufacturing, distribution, or growing consumer brands.I’m particularly interested in building meaningful business relationships with people who understand the Malawian market and see potential in developing homegrown brands with regional and international ambitions.I’m keeping the specific concept and brand details private for now, but I’m happy to discuss the opportunity with genuinely interested people and arrange a private introductory meeting. For personal security reasons, I’m posting anonymously at this stage.
If you have experience in investment, entrepreneurship, or fashion business development, I’d appreciate connecting with you. Please send me a private message with a brief introduction about yourself and your area of interest.
I’d also welcome advice from anyone who has successfully launched or grown a business in Malawi.
Thank you!

Photographers and Videographers

I’m into media production video and photo editing. I was using a MacBook Air M1 and had cracked apps like Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro. They were working fine until my computer died, so I bought a new M4 Air which is running on macOS 27. Other cracked apps like Premiere Pro and Photoshop still work (though not efficiently) but Lightroom does not work at all it crashes every-time I open it, it just keeps closing.

To fix this, I tried purchasing the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, which is around $34 per month, but it is now telling me that the purchase is not available for my country.

Does anyone have a solution or encountered a similar case?

Now I’m stuck, but I have photos to deliver to clients.

I watched the new MUSHROOM SHADE MOVIE Spoiler

I watched the recent 'Mushroom shade' movie and all I can say is that if you are looking for a movie made by rich people with too much money on their hands for a camera with no real acting talent then you can watch this movie.

I started watching their episodes from last year and I remember the hype around it and I was excited for it, at some point I came to the realization that this thing was just.... terrible.

But you have to give it up to the director cause he crammed up alot of cameos in those episodes until it became boring since most of the celebrities in their were bad actors, no pun intended, it's okay to stick to the studio.

The season ended with a lot of unfinished subplots that led to absolutely nowhere, the main character who was literally narrating the story in the first episodes just somehow became the side character like wtf was that? but I was an understanding viewer I just shrugged it off.

Then comes this movie, which is some sort of extension of the first season, it could have just been the season finale or some shit but they thought "well.. yeah let's make it longer and call it a movie'" and a movie it became and it's called 'Lissy's Blue Heart(A mushroom Shade movie)'

As you would have it the Director Chaz didn't shy away from putting in famous people in the Movie, with the cast being achina Bucci, Nyauyu, Onesimus etc, some pretty big names in the entertainment industry if you ask me, which is impressive if that could be the only thing needed to have a good movie.

I have to give it to them tho, they are consistent, they are so CONSISTENT with their terrible writing, the story is just dumb...I laughed all the way through it not because it was funny but because I was thinking of how anyone could put this crap out for people to see?

I have just summarised the plot so let's get into it

The plot is a continuation of the previous episode with Walezi being in a relationship with Lissie.

For some reason Lissies and sisters inheritance is being threatened by some guy who wants the company for himself.

Lissie and the sister Inherited this company and the guy apparently wants to take control of it cause of a loan the father owed, without a fight they gave it away with the Rich guy requesting a meeting. Ofcourse.

Conveniently Lissie meets the dude and as you would have it this rich guy starts eyeing Lissie and wants to fuck her so he can be paying for her expensive lifestyle.

Lissie says no

Now remember the company belonged to her and the sister and without it they would lose their only source of income. (Remember this)

Meanwhile Walezi, a Taxi driver who can afford a very nice apartment that probably cost K1m per month can't fix his car cause he has invested his last money in an app for delivering stuff.

So Lissie tells Walezi how dumb he is for doing that and they fight for like two seconds and they make up again with Lissie hinting to that she would marry Walezi.

FF Walezi being an idiot proposes to Lissie Infront of his mom and friends, Lissie a girl he used to drive to see her blesser at one point and as you would have it she says No! just because... and Walezi, mad asf breaks up with her.

Then FF Walezi and his friend gives up 70 percent of their app to Some Dubai rich guy and they make lots of money, the deal was shit but it's whatever.

Now Lissie is feeling bad and missing Walezi and decides to go see him, upon arrival this nigga invites her to the pool side of the house where he had another girl, Lissie gets mad and goes to that Rich fuck boy and asked if the deal still stands to which this horny fuckturd says yes and then started dating.

He spoils her but at the same time brought hoes to his crib while Lissie was in the house so

she breaks up with him and now she is single again

Now remember the company? at this point we have no idea what's going on in regards to that, the sister doesn't even ask about it anymore, all she did was explain how she had a one night stand, that absolutely added nothing to the story, even had a whole flashback scene, and that was it, no story about the company what so ever, just Lissie fucking and breaking up with the guy who literally took her Inheritance from under her nose.

So Buccie AKA Walezi is now rich, he done fucked all whores in Blantyre and after alot of post nut clarities he cums....sorry....he comes to the realization that he loves Lissie cause she loved him when he had nothing and all that bullshit, so after some peptalk from his mother and his friend he tries getting Lissie back and she says fuck off.

Now this NIGGA still gets up and arranges a meeting with the Rich fuck boy and offers him money so he gives Lissies company back.

The Rich fuck boy says yes.

Then in the next scene Lissie is standing outside the controversial Amaryllis hotel and the Rich Fuck boy pulls up in a Ford raptor and blows her a kiss then drives off then Walezi pulls up in a convertible VW and blows the kiss again to which Lissie reciprocates. Which means they got back together I guess?

Now I know what you are thinking 'what happened to the sister who was very much reliant on the Inheritance too?' the answer is.....well don't be a hater just enjoy the movie okayyy!!!

I mean I know Malawi is just starting with all these kind of high quality movies but damn....try and make compelling stories.

It would not kill you to actually put alot of thought into it, this movie is slop, fucking AI would do a much better job than whatever this shit was, the visuals were nice, the sets were on point BUT the acting was ASS and the Story itself was dog shit.

I hope they take this positively cause all I want is some nice movies from my country am sure they will be improving but as of now all I can say is this movie is a 2/10.

discussion Would y'all be interested in a Malawian dating sub?

Hey guys, I joined Reddit some years ago on a different account. Back then this sub was very inactive, but now I see it's growing and that's pretty cool!

I'm a single woman, and it just got me curious soccer Reddit had several dating subs, some of which are country-specific. Would y'all be interested in a Malawian dating subreddit? Not for discussions, but for posting on to find love etc similar to r4r? No direct responses under posts, just a to send the poster a chat invite if you feel like you want to get to know them.

At what point do we, as Malawians, say enough is enough? Basi.

I think, as a nation, we don’t get angry enough about the things that affect our lives. Andale makes promises, play with people’s expectations, and make decisions that affect our daily survival, yet we often move on without demanding enough accountability.

How long are we going to accept this as normal? We deserve better governance, better services, and leaders who take their responsibilities seriously. Our silence and failure to demand accountability only make it easier for those in power to continue doing as they please.

How do I bounce back/restart my life?

I'm a 29M, a serial overthinker and introvert, unemployed and broke despite graduating 2018 with an IT degree. Shortly after graduation, I got some 2 internship experiences for about 2 yrs till 2023 and I've been jobless since then, done 4-5 interviews since then with no luck of course.

Since 2023 I've been helping my parents run a shop and I've also done some business in between these years(with no success). I have been applying to jobs but I must admit I'm not very consistent as my hope and confidence continue to fade away.

Lately I've been thinking maybe entrepreneurship could be my way out of this but as I said I'm broke and I don't think I'm willing to take a risk of getting a loan to start a business(overthinking).

Coming back to my parents, they have several businesses including the shop that are all struggling and me having thought about starting a business on my own, an idea came to mind that maybe I should rather ask my parents if I could be some sort of an assistant to their businesses, re-organize them so that in the end both of us could win instead of starting my own thing. But they shot down that idea after I shared with them, they still think and hope I will be better off getting a job.

I've lost too much confidence and hope towards getting a job and sometimes doubt my abilities, I know people talk of networking and stuff but there too much much self doubt in me. Been thinking of maybe looking for volunteering opportunities in my field but not so sure about it either.

I really don't know what to do, there isnt a day that i dont get stressed.

discussion Malawi, Let's Talk Psychology! 🇲🇼What Should We Discuss First?

Hey everyone!

What mental health or human behaviour issues do you think we need to talk about more in Malawi?

Relationship issues? Why do people cheat? Why do some people end up believing that all men are evil or all women are evil? 👀 What do these experiences tell us about our personal experiences, beliefs, and emotional wellbeing? And how can psychotherapy help?

Or are there other issues we rarely talk about but really need to understand?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts. What would you want us to discuss?

Spoiler: launching a project.

I am a bitter person...

been around since Bakili's second term circa '97.

I really cannot say that I remember much during Bakili's era, but i do remember that he used to distribute ma k50. He was a shit president, then came Bingu with his radical progressiveness in contrary to Bakili, i never missed his rallies because TVM made sure that you never miss one. Him too was not a bad president, i will never understand his glorification though, the months leading to his demise can be liken to being in a packed room and someone is throwing shit at the fan. It was hell.

Whenever i hear someone saying that they enjoyed Malawi during the reigns of any particular president, i really believe that they were part of the cabal responsible for plundering our taxes. There is no time in the history of Malawi, Malawians have lived a good life here. This is a failed state, and it will continue failing. Soon enough we will hear that they sold the lake to some indian.

Education is The key to Success

Education didn't stop being the key to success as others may claim. The saying says education is the key to success. It does not specify Formal or Informal Education. Nope.

People misquote this saying on purpose.

It does not say a university degree is the key to success.

Education is just learning what works. A degree is just one way to get it.

Formal education gives you credibility, foundations, and opens doors that require a paper.

Informal education gives you practical skills, speed, and income while others are still in class.

Don't pick one and trash the other.

The formal only dude has theory but can't sell, can't manage money let alone handle real pressure.

The informal only bloke can hustle but hits a ceiling because he lacks systems, structure and deeper knowledge.

Be smart by combining both. Use informal skills to make money and scale it up using formal education.

You just need an education that will make you useful and valuable. If one door doesn't work, open the other.
