Advice Kean for Nursing?

I'm not a US citizen and studying in the States gets to be very expensive. Kean is extremely cost effective compared to the vast majority of other schools in the US and I wanted to know how people view nursing degrees from Kean.

I like that it's affordable and that the acceptance rate is high, it makes me believe that the American school system motivates people to get an education regardless of their background. This does not exist in my East Asian country; community colleges are expensive and everybody- EVERYBODY- cares where you went to school. I have always been a middling student and I sincerely believe that I only manage to get hired in places because I have a degree from Asia's top ranked university. My employers straight up don't believe me when I say I sucked in school; I've always ridden on the coattails of my alma mater.

Anyway, not to say that Kean is necessarily bad - I hadn't even heard of Rutgers until I met a professor who graduated from there. People in my country only care/know about the ivy league. I just don't have much perspective about employability and opinions about graduates from a university like Kean. I've heard that nursing is the type of profession where nobody cares where the degree comes from, as long as it's ACEN accredited. Would it be better for employability to save up for a school like Ramapo/Rutgers?

Thanks people

Advice Ezpass is the worst.

I just woke up and my parents told me I had mail from ezpass. The violation was from a day I payed cash and noticed I was shorted money. I was at the sign that says thank you after you pay when I noticed then i reversed slightly and told the worker about the money. I wasnt given a receipt of the transaction I paid so I dont have proof. It was a $2.10 fee at the time and I handed a five. Any chance I won't have to pay? Im going to call tomorrow.

Hi! I'm a student reporter working on a piece about the No Kings rallies coming up this 17th, and I was wondering if anyone here or anyone here knows people who are organizing/leaders of an upcoming No Kings rally. Rutgers Business analytics senior regretting MSU. I’m scared of graduating without experience. Is an MBA worth considering?

I went to MSU for business analytics with an economics minor. I thought it was the better financial deal, but I didn’t research schools as much as I should have, and now I regret not choosing Rutgers. My family has started saying I should have gone there, which makes me feel even worse.

My GPA is close to 4.0, and I’m proficient in SQL, Excel, R, and other tools in my field. But I can barely get to the interview stage for internships, and now for entry-level roles too. I know the school isn’t necessarily to blame, but I wonder if I’d have had more support and opportunities somewhere else.

I haven’t made many friends in college, so I feel like I’ve missed out on connections. I don’t know how to start building them this late or if that's even possible. Transportation is not great, so it's hard to commute. That's on me, but I wish I’d had more guidance on internships and career paths, and on figuring out what I’m doing wrong. CAPS is kinda taking me for a loop.

I'm scared of graduating without relevant experience (internships) or a clear direction. I know a different school wouldn’t have guaranteed a better outcome, but I can't help feeling like I've ruined my potential career path.

I’ve been thinking about an MBA, but I don’t even know if I like business analytics, since I’ve never worked in the field. Would an MBA be a way to give it another chance, or should I continue applying and focus on that?

Idek if this post made much sense.

Advice PSE&G Central A/C Replacement

So our central A/C decided to "retire" during our horrid July heat wave so without choice we had it replaced using PSE&G. We had a NEST for the original A/C, which was +25 years old and it worked fine until it decided to take a crap on us. We also have one for our central heat which works perfectly well. PSE&G told us that we NEED to have the Honeywell smart thermostat they installed so they can communicate with it remotely in case something were to happen and perhaps troubleshoot any kind of issues that may appear. How in all hell will they communicate with it if it's on my WiFi? I would rather have my NEST connected but does any of this sound right to any of you? I appreciate any input with this!

Advice Moved to Jersey recently

Hi,

I just moved to Jersey recently and due to circumstances I will be moving back to my home state in about 6 months. I do not have a domicile in my original home state, so does that mean I have to get a NJ license and fill out my taxes as a part year resident? I already filled out paperwork to be a resident in NJ for my job. My brain is just a little nervous so I want to make sure before I submit more paperwork to move into Jersey lol

I was in union city and this situation occurred. I decided to be safe and yielded to all right turning vehicles but the cars behind me honked and one tried to go around me to turn left. Was wondering what the exact rules are around this. Is it legal to turn left?

📰News Between the Lieutenant Governor's resignation and now this, what is going on with the Sherrill administration?

First, Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell resigns following an investigation into serious violations of state policy. Now, a New Jersey Deputy Attorney General has been arrested in Pennsylvania on charges involving possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, including AI-generated content.

Obviously, these are two separate incidents, and criminal allegations against one employee don't automatically implicate an entire administration.

But seriously, between the Lieutenant Governor's resignation and now this, what is going on with the Sherrill administration?

At what point do we start asking questions about the vetting, oversight, and accountability of people holding positions of public trust in New Jersey?

Looking for recommendations for a Chinese weekend school for kids in NJ, especially Central Jersey (Edison, Princeton, West Windsor area). Which ones have you liked, and why? Teachers, class size, Mandarin vs. Cantonese, traditional vs. simplified, cultural activities, anything helps. Also curious about the cost and what age kids usually start.
