Okay, we're taking a side. If you can't handle diversity and equality, get the fuck out.

I never thought we would have to "take a side" in this culture war.

If you are the type of person who:

  1. Feels as though Stevens has gone downhill because it has pushed to become more inclusive over the last 2 decades.
  2. Holds discriminatory views against others
  3. Is pro-Gianforte/Trum/DeSantis/etcetc.
  4. Is suspiciously quiet about where you were on Jan 6th because you were definitely on the other side of DC not where the attack was

Then you are not welcome here.

The people (and especially mods) of r/stevens stands with equal rights for all.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

"Oh, but you're not tolerating our conservative views! You're a hypocrite!"

Well, the paradox of tolerance disappears if you view it as a social contract, not a moral standard.. You clearly can't hold up your end of the contract, so we are in no mood to play ball here.

Stevens is great because of the collective and diverse people who make it so. The world has moved on, and become better, for that. Deal with it.

Edit: nuking thread comments because if you are seriously here to pretend that taking a hard stance on excluding bigots is anything but reprehensible then you can fuck right off, too.

CS 447 vs CS 561-2

What is the difference between these courses in terms of difficulty and course content? On the course catalog, they appear to cover similar content, however CS561/CS562 is two courses and is graduate level while CS442 is one course and undergraduate.

*cs442 not cs 447

I’m looking for two or three guys to help me move a 290 pound chiropractic table. It is in the back of my SUV and the hardest part will be getting it out of there. Then we roll it into a first floor office. Should take maybe 15 minutes or so. Looking to do this tomorrow or Wednesday. 50 bucks cash per guy.

Chances of acceptance

I'm a Senior asking what is the most important thing when applying for Stevens?

My academics aren't the strongest, I say they are a little above average. I am out-of-state, I do have a good extracurricular, currently writing my common app essay, and have two letters of recommendation.

I want to major industrial engineering.

I feel this is pretty weak, how can I boost my chances of entering?

Looking for anyone interested in Spring ‘27 housing

I’m currently signed with Hudson Dorms for the ongoing Fall ‘26 and upcoming Spring ‘27 semesters, but I’m looking to commute in the spring semester, and Hudson Dorms does not do single-semester leases for students unless they are graduating in December. However, I am allowed to have someone take over my lease for the spring semester so long as they are not currently signed on with Hudson Dorms.

The apartment is a 5-person apartment at 800 Jefferson Street, cost for a semester is $6,795. ~15 minute walk from campus, 5 minute walk away from the Light Rail, ACME, and ShopRite. Pizza & Kabab places right across the street. The apartment has in-unit laundry, an elevator, a gym, and a courtyard with grills and a fire pit.

If anyone is interested, please let me know

Room sublease

Hey guys!

I'm a grad student living in Bridgeport, CT. Due to my TA duties this semester, I'll have to be on campus 5 days a week, so commuting (a total of 5-6 hours/day) is not an option. If anyone would happen to be aware of an opportunity for a room i can lease/sublease for this semester I'd be greatful. I am also willing to rent the room from Monday to Friday (so 4 nights/week) since that's all i need, if that works better for you. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Lmk!

Anyone gonna be at Stevens today/tomorrow? New grad student and I know absolutely no one

I’m an Indian international grad student starting at Stevens this fall, and my classes start Sep 1. I just got here and, as the title suggests, I don’t know a single fucking person at the college lol.

I was supposed to attend orientation, but ended up missing it because of a flight delay. So right now I have pretty much zero idea how things work around campus or what I’m supposed to get done before classes start

I’m planning to head to Stevens either today (Monday) or tomorrow (Tuesday). I wanna visit the ISSS office, get my ID card, figure out whatever other formalities I missed during orientation, and just explore the campus a little instead of walking in clueless on my first day.

So if anyone’s gonna be on campus today or tomorrow and doesn’t mind me tagging along, feel free to DM me. Doesn’t matter if you’re a new student, current student, grad/undergrad, international or not. I’d just love to meet some people and have a few familiar faces around campus.

And if you missed orientation too and have no fucking clue what’s going on, even better. We can be clueless together 😭

Is Stevens good for an international student?

Hi! I’m currently a CSE undergraduate from India with an 8 CGPA, which roughly converts to a 3.1–3.2 on the US GPA scale. I’m hoping to transition into the space industry, particularly on the computational/software side rather than hardware-focused roles.

I’m aware that ITAR restrictions can make it difficult for international students to work in certain areas of the US space industry. From what I understand, though, many of the more computational areas can have more opportunities that aren’t as heavily restricted.

While researching master’s programs, I came across Stevens Institute of Technology’s MS in Space Systems Engineering. The program seems to have a fairly strong computational and systems focus, which is exactly what I’m looking for. However, I honestly don’t know much about Stevens itself, and I haven’t come across it as often as universities like Purdue, Georgia Tech, CU Boulder, etc.

Since there also don’t seem to be many universities offering a dedicated Space Systems Engineering program, I’m wondering whether Stevens would be a realistic option for someone with my background and GPA.

Would I be a feasible applicant for this program? And more importantly, how well regarded is Stevens within the space industry, especially for someone trying to enter the field from a CSE background and eventually work in computational space/astronautics?

I’d really appreciate some brutally honest advice on whether this is a program worth seriously considering, or if I should be looking at other degrees/universities instead.

Systems Engineering Students

Hi Reddit,

I was wondering if there was anyone I could talk too who's doing the Systems Engineering program at Stevens. I'm thinking of applying for the PhD program and wanted to talk to someone in the program.

Been thinking about doing graduate school here and wanted to reach out to faculty or student's who're in the program.
