Relationships I am done with this hypergamy.
I am done with this hypergamy shit. I don't deserve love it seems just because I live in a particular place.
I am 27 and my age it's date to marry and settle down.
So if I do meet someone from Vasai the conversation goes nowhere as they are looking for someone from Mumbai to marry and settle down.
If I meet someone from Mumbai they initially like the vibe and conversation but as soon as they get to know I am from Vasai Virar they leave, unmatch, ignore.
This is the 5th time it's happening.
I give up on finding anything.
Now my goal is to grind, lock in and hustle to earn more so I can move out of this shitty place to Mumbai and find love.
Or maybe I should just give up and force myself to stay single forever.
Thanks for listening to my rant.

Discussion Does anyone else feel depressed coming back to Mumbai after a vacation?🫩
Every time I travel somewhere outside Mumbai, whether it’s another state in India or another country, I come back feeling this strange sadness.
Being away reminds me of how beautiful life can feel when you’re surrounded by nature, greenery, open skies, clean air and places that actually have a sense of aesthetic to them.
And then I come back to Mumbai and the reality hits. Back to the daily commute, the same concrete buildings everywhere, the pollution, the constant rush, and the feeling that life is just going to be an endless cycle of waking up, going to work, coming home, sleeping and repeating it all over again.
The sky is one thing I notice the most. I’ve travelled to most states in India and I’ve always noticed how different the sky looks outside Mumbai. You can actually see the blue. The air feels lighter, the surroundings feel more open and somehow even doing absolutely nothing feels good… The moment I enter Mumbai, it’s like this huge grey blanket covers everything. Sometimes you can barely see the sky properly and in certain areas, you literally have to cover your mouth because of the pollution!! 😷
When did human life become sooo disconnected from nature? When did living become just about earning money, paying bills, commuting for hours and waiting for the next vacation to feel alive again?
I’ve reached a point where I genuinely want to earn enough money to be able to travel every two months without having to overthink the financial implications. To be able to leave whenever I feel like I need a break, experience different places, and not feel guilty about spending money on something that makes me feel alive. But then I realise how difficult that is and how this is probably what so many of us are chasing anyway!
I know Mumbai has its own charm. The people, the food, the opportunities, the energy. And I understand why people love this city. But sometimes I feel like we’ve normalised living in an environment that is genuinely exhausting, both physically and mentally
Does anyone else feel this way, or am I just going through post-vacation blues? How do you cope with this??
Sometimes I genuinely wonder if this is the life we’re all supposed to be working so hard for…

Discussion Nalasopara Imperial Heights Fire: Questions for VVMC on High-Rise Fire Safety
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I want to discuss the recent fire at Imperial Heritage (Imperial Heights), Nalasopara East, where two women tragically lost their lives.
Residents have reportedly alleged that the building’s fire safety system was not operational. The exact cause and any negligence still need to be established through an investigation.
But this incident raises serious questions for the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC):
- If high-rise buildings are being approved, are their fire safety systems actually inspected and kept operational?
- Do our fire brigade teams have adequate equipment to rescue people from the upper floors?
- Why aren’t modern rescue systems, including suitable hydraulic platforms and drone-assisted operations, being strengthened?
- Who is accountable for checking fire safety before residents are allowed to live in these buildings?
The fire brigade station is reportedly just about a minute’s drive away on the same road. That makes it even more important to understand what difficulties occurred during the rescue—not to blame anyone without evidence, but to demand answers.
A city cannot keep building higher without making its emergency response stronger.
What should VVMC prioritise to prevent such tragedies in Vasai-Virar? And how can residents demand transparent fire-safety inspections?

Discussion Mumbai have lost its metered autos entirely!
I moved from Thane to Andheri a few months back, Vasant Oasis Marol to be precise so I can be closer to my office and save a few hours and city flo travel cost.
The auto for 1.3 Kms within Andheri East costs me average Rs. 100-110 one way because at no point in time, Monday to Sunday 8AM to 12 midnight does an auto agree to go by the meter.
Mumbaikars used to be so proud about the fact that you don't need to haggle with autos here and that they run on meters.
What happened to that?

General I hate garba in mumbai
Garba season in Mumbai hits different when you're sitting at home ðŸ«
I keep scrolling through Insta stories of people with their huge friend groups and classmates posting with their boyfriends all in matching outfits and I'm just here in my room with barely 2 friends feeling so lonely
I miss being a kid when I could walk up to any random group and join in and nobody would judge me when did that stop being possible
Now it feels so fucking scary to even ask someone if I can join and even if they say yes I'm scared I'll get the steps wrong and get kicked out
And what is this pass thing why do I have to pay 500-1000 rupees just to dance at a place 2 hours away can't I just dance for free
I don't know yaar it just feels so weird
Am I the only one who feels like this?

General Leaving Mumbai, my heart is heavy!
First came here back in 2019 for a two-month summer internship. Stayed in Wadala while commuting all the way to Andheri every day. Navigating local trains and insane road traffic should have scared me away, but somewhere I fell head over heels for this place.
Fast forward to 2022: Being in tech, landing a solid gig in Mumbai instead of Bangalore or Hyderabad wasn't the easiest choice or path, but I manifested it hard purely because I wanted to live here. And it actually happened.
Now, after getting hit by layoffs, I'm heading to Bangalore next week. I have about seven days left here, and honestly I can’t feel anything but sad. My heart is heavy and I feel there is a sinking hole in my gut!!
I know Mumbai has a thousand glaring flaws, the rents, the infrastructure struggles, the constant grind. People joke that fewer outsiders are a blessing for the crowd, but standing on the edge of leaving, all I can feel is heavy.
I’m genuinely going to miss it all. Late night sits at Marine Drive, driving through the Sea Link with the windows down, the amazing food across Bandra West, Walking around BKC when it looks like a completely different country (my office was in BKC), the beautiful Mumbai monsoon… everything.. But above all, the people. In all these years, not once did anyone make me feel like an outsider. There’s an unsaid and instant warmth here in the people that you just don't get anywhere else.
Goodbye, Mumbai. You’ve been home in the truest sense. Really hoping life finds a way to bring me back soon.

Political Interesting how Ujwal Nikam is back in conversations again
Saw the reports about Ujwal Nikam meeting the RSS chief and it reminded me that Prahaar is also coming up
Whatever people make of the meeting, the 26/11 case is such a significant part of Nikam's career. We all remember the attacks and Kasab being caught but I feel the actual legal proceedings that went on for years aren't discussed nearly as much
Would be interesting to see how much of that side the movie explores. There's genuinely a lot of material there beyond the usual courtroom drama

Discussion Does anyone feel burdened by high home loan EMIs in Mumbai
We all have a dream to buy our own house one day. However, the prices of real estate in Mumbai are almost 2x-3x of what they should be. Most of us get discouraged and give up on this dream. But there are some who won't. They are ready to pay more than 50% of their salaries in EMI. I wonder what happens in such cases when high EMIs vis-a-vis salary makes you sacrifice small luxuries and pleasures in life. For example, going by bus in this heat and humidity instead of Uber. Not going out on weekends. Postponing vacations indefinitely.

General Got into a scuffle with another girl inside mumbai local
I am a non mumbai girl shifted to mumbai last month because I got a job here. I take the ladies compartment on the Mumbai local. one day I got into an argument with a girl. she was accusing me of not staying still and that I am constantly pushing her (you all would be knowing how crowded it is inside). after few minutes she started swearing at me. I couldn't even belive what all she was calling me. I was in shock. I wasn't expecting such a behaviour from a girl who looks almost my age. Luckily her stop came and she got down.
Few days later again we met in the same compartment. She stood next to me (I think on purpose) and pushed me. I asked her what are you doing and she said this is what you were doing few days back. I politely told her that I am not in the mood for arguments and please stop. nothing else was said and I thought it's done. but after few minutes she started again. I got really mad and I pushed her back. She started swearing (this time I did too) and this time we both were pushing each other with both our hands. Other ladies intervened and separated us.
Has anyone else had such an incident and how to deal with it ?

General Passport Seva Kendra (PSK/Malad)
I had an appointment for Passport renewal and had an great experience. Seems like the process has been handed over to TCS and they are doing a great job.
Note the below pointers which might help for new appliers as well renewal, normal issue not TATKAL
My passport expired and I had an address change plus my middle name was missing in the old passport so I wanted to add that also.
- You will get a message on your phone number, you can reach 15mins before that time and they will allow you, long are the days gone when you had to wait for a long queue and worry your number shouldn’t be missed. (Specifically talking about MALAD PSK) \*\* very important thing is to have an account in DIGI LOCKER and your latest updated Aadhar card issued in that.\*\*
Make sure you reach 15mins before
Download the application form (ARN), I know the notice says that you can show the message received in your phone. I did the same they allow you the entry based on your phone message but read ahead and you will know why a printout will help. Also there is one printout on the website which specifies what documents you need based on what is the purpose of your passport application. Make sure you read that and keep documents ready.
- Keep one set of Original documents handy, I kept it in a very accessible plastic folder which I could remove and keep it in bag easily
Take 2 xerox copies of all the original documents and keep them in different folders too. Make sure they are signed which accounts for self attested.
After security guard lets you in, there will one more security check who would check your bag and the application again.
He then will tell you to enter inside and turn right.
You will see 6 counters, 3 for Normal and 3 for Tatkal.
You can stand in the line whichever you have chosen
I had booked Normal, so I stood in the line of Normal.
They will check you Application form and documents and will ask for original documents also so keep them handy.
The same guy will tell you to scan the application form which has a barcode and get it back. This is the reason I am asking you to carry the printout of application form, this eases the process for you.
Once scanned go to the same guy and hand him the form again.
1st counter same guy will write down the token number on the form
You then turn back and head to the A token waiting area
There you will see the screen where you will have to wait till your token number is displayed
There are employees waiting for you, just show them the Token number, they will call each and every number and guide you where you have to go next.
So once your token number is displayed you will head to Counter A (this will take around 5mins of waiting)
Important tip- Open Digilocker and take a screenshot of your Aadhar card from it, since there might be network issue inside, so utilise the waiting period and do that.
Counter A person will check your original document and xerox.
You will have a computer screen in front of you, they will update and ask you to verify the data.
So my address was updated, but my middle name could not be updated, since you need a Gazette magazine name change document.
I thought it will be rejected but they kept the same name as my old passport and was cleared.
Then counter A will click your new photograph and taken finger prints
Counter A will again ask you to verify your data on computer screen. The counter A person will give you the set of your xerox. Keep them handy because later counters will ask for it.
Counter A takes maximum 10minutes (Counter A person will also remind you take a screenshot of Digilocker Aadhar card)
Now you have to proceed to counter B and Counter C. Both the places are at same location.
The counter B is at the left hand side (kind of a cabin but doors are open). After you enter the waiting area and Counter B is on the left and counter C is an open area in front of you.
There are screens again, where you will have to wait similar to counter A. You will have to check your Token number on screen for Counter B ( waiting will be around 10minutes)
Again there are employees who will call out your token number and great thing for elder or confused people is they also call out the name if no one responds to the token number.
Now you proceed on the Counter B once your token is displayed.
Counter B person will ask for your Original Passport and documents and the ARN form set which you got it from counter A (xerox copies). Counter B will ask you to show the photo of Digi locker and Aadhar card in it (the screenshot you took earlier)
Counter B will take around 2-5mins max
You then have to come out of the cabin the same place again and wait again for your token number on same screen for the next counter, Counter C
Counter C will take waiting around 5-10mins
There is a chance your Counter will be C or AP
I got counter AP 1, which is same as counter C
The last counter, they will ask for same documents again the original passport and the xerox paper set.
Counter C will also ask you to show the screenshot of Digilocker Aadhar card.
Counter C will punch in your old passport and put a stamp of validity expire and voila the process is done.
The overall time from entry to completion of Passport process will take maximum 1 hour, and if you are lucky you could also get done within 40mins
Then while exiting the watchmen there will ask you to fill the feedback, there is a touchscreen computer.
I gave excellent to all sections, it will take around 2mins
- Thats it, I hope the above helps whoever is applying or renewing. No need to be stressed people there are way too gentle and friendly. They give you
Key points:
Digi locker is a must
ARN application form printout
Original documents kept in single plastic folder for easy access
Download and Read about what documents are specifically needed for you ( available once you login in the psk website)
Thanks !!

General Tatkaal passport reissue for ECR removal put on hold at Malad PSK over ITR proof and a middle-name spelling mismatch. What are my options?
I have a job offer in Dubai, so I need my passport changed from ECR to non-ECR. HR wants this done before they apply for my visa.
What happened at the Malad (East) PSK today:
- I applied for a Tatkaal reissue (ECR deletion) with no change of name or address.
- My Non-ECR proof was the income tax payer category: ITR acknowledgement, 143(1) intimation and PAN. All of them show the same name as my passport.
- The officer said Tatkaal doesn’t accept ITR as Non-ECR proof. I believe the application is now on hold.
The spelling problem (middle name, two letters swapped):
- Passport, PAN, ITR, birth certificate and my father’s name: XXXXeaX
- 10th certificate, Mumbai University degree and Aadhaar: XXXXaeX
So I can’t use my educational certificates as the ECR proof without a mismatch. The officer said I’d need a gazette and a newspaper notice (XXXXaeX to XXXXeaX), and that a gazette or name-change case can’t go through Tatkaal.
My questions:
- Has anyone had an on-hold Tatkaal application converted to Normal? Did the ARN and fee carry over?
- Does a Normal reissue accept ITR plus PAN as Non-ECR proof? Has anyone done ECR removal this way recently in Mumbai?
- How long are Normal reissues taking at Mumbai RPO right now?
- For anyone who has done a Maharashtra gazette name correction: how long did publication take, and were the newspaper notices required?
- Is meeting the APO at the RPO worth it in a case like this?
- Any experience with eMigrate clearance on an ECR passport for a UAE job, as an alternative?
Any advice is appreciated, as my start date is getting pushed.

Discussion Mistakes I made before going to Mumbai for job
Number one mistake I made was deciding to go to mumbai for salary less than 40k. Trust me you wont be able to live there for so low salary. Many people told me that in the beginning of our career, you should not care about salary that much should focus on learning. That is why I went, but I shouldn’t have gone. My salary was like 26k. Funnily enough salary was actually 13 company it by 4 and we could not do anything about it because we were graduate
Number 2 is don’t come to Mumbai. You don’t want to commute three hours every day in then it is just a hassle. So mostly it come down to where is your office location if it is in very costly areas like Ghatkopar, then it is better to not take that job opportunity, but if it is in very cheap areas where Rent is less like Virar, then it is better to take the job opportunity

Careers Any Young Independent Filmmakers Looking to Collaborate with Actors?
Hi everyone!
I’m an aspiring actor based in Mumbai, and I’d love to connect with young, independent filmmakers, directors, or student filmmakers who are currently working on short films or other creative projects and might be looking for actors.
I’d be more than happy to collaborate on a project and explore opportunities to act, learn, and gain experience. If you’re working on something or know someone who might be looking for an actor, please feel free to reach out!
I also wanted to ask: Is it possible to get auditions directly, or do you generally need a manager or casting agent to access acting opportunities? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any advice you might have for someone starting out.
Looking forward to connecting with fellow creatives.
Thank you! 😊
