Relationships I am done with this hypergamy.

Post image

I am done with this hypergamy shit. I don't deserve love it seems just because I live in a particular place.

I am 27 and my age it's date to marry and settle down.

So if I do meet someone from Vasai the conversation goes nowhere as they are looking for someone from Mumbai to marry and settle down.

If I meet someone from Mumbai they initially like the vibe and conversation but as soon as they get to know I am from Vasai Virar they leave, unmatch, ignore.

This is the 5th time it's happening.

I give up on finding anything.

Now my goal is to grind, lock in and hustle to earn more so I can move out of this shitty place to Mumbai and find love.

Or maybe I should just give up and force myself to stay single forever.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

Discussion Haathgadis around Crawford Market are slowing traffic. What’s the fix?

I live near Crawford Market, and anyone who’s been here knows the area is packed with wholesale shops, godowns, and loading activity from morning to night. The haathgadis are part of how goods move, but they’ve also become one of the biggest causes of traffic chaos.

The first problem is that they don’t follow any traffic rules. They go the wrong way, cut across lanes, and stop wherever they want. And since a single cart often has 6–7 handlers pushing and pulling it, they end up taking almost half the road. Cars, bikes, and buses all get squeezed into what’s left, and the whole street slows down.

The second problem is road damage. These haathgaadis carry very heavy loads and when one gets stuck on the road the weight concentrated on one spot ends up damaging the surface and creating potholes. Those potholes then slow traffic even more and become a hazard for two wheelers.

Has anyone seen this handled well in other parts of Mumbai or other cities?

Discussion Mistakes I made before going to Mumbai for job

Number one mistake I made was deciding to go to mumbai for salary less than 40k. Trust me you wont be able to live there for so low salary. Many people told me that in the beginning of our career, you should not care about salary that much should focus on learning. That is why I went, but I shouldn’t have gone. My salary was like 26k. Funnily enough salary was actually 13 company it by 4 and we could not do anything about it because we were graduate

Number 2 is don’t come to Mumbai. You don’t want to commute three hours every day in then it is just a hassle. So mostly it come down to where is your office location if it is in very costly areas like Ghatkopar, then it is better to not take that job opportunity, but if it is in very cheap areas where Rent is less like Virar, then it is better to take the job opportunity

AskMumbai Mumbai Durga Puja 2026

Hey everyone! I’m planning to explore Durga Puja in Mumbai this year, and since I’m a complete newbie, I’d love some recommendations from people, especially Mumbaikars.

Which pandals are absolutely worth visiting? Also, which area would be the best to stay in if I want to cover as many pandals as possible without spending half my time travelling across the city?

Would really appreciate a detailed guide covering must-visit pandals, the best areas to explore, travel tips, and anything else a first-timer should know. Things like the overall vibe, crowds, and route-to-reach would be helpful.

Basically, how should I plan my 2-days trip in Mumbai during Durga Pujo?

Thanks In Advance!

AskMumbai Decent coworking space near Andheri for focused work?

I have been exploring coworking spaces to work out of and can do focused deep work for hours.

Unfortunately the options I explored so far have been taken over by the sales team people who are just cold calling all the time. They are constantly on the phone, loudly talking with no regard for others working next to them.

I used to work out of WeWork at Nariman Point & Worli. They both had dedicated quiet zones that made a huge difference. It was a bummer for me to learn that no such thing exists in WeWork Andheri spaces.

I’m reaching out to the community to see if there any other options.

Political Interesting how Ujwal Nikam is back in conversations again

Post image
32 Upvotes

Saw the reports about Ujwal Nikam meeting the RSS chief and it reminded me that Prahaar is also coming up

Whatever people make of the meeting, the 26/11 case is such a significant part of Nikam's career. We all remember the attacks and Kasab being caught but I feel the actual legal proceedings that went on for years aren't discussed nearly as much

Would be interesting to see how much of that side the movie explores. There's genuinely a lot of material there beyond the usual courtroom drama

General Got into a scuffle with another girl inside mumbai local

I am a non mumbai girl shifted to mumbai last month because I got a job here. I take the ladies compartment on the Mumbai local. one day I got into an argument with a girl. she was accusing me of not staying still and that I am constantly pushing her (you all would be knowing how crowded it is inside). after few minutes she started swearing at me. I couldn't even belive what all she was calling me. I was in shock. I wasn't expecting such a behaviour from a girl who looks almost my age. Luckily her stop came and she got down.

Few days later again we met in the same compartment. She stood next to me (I think on purpose) and pushed me. I asked her what are you doing and she said this is what you were doing few days back. I politely told her that I am not in the mood for arguments and please stop. nothing else was said and I thought it's done. but after few minutes she started again. I got really mad and I pushed her back. She started swearing (this time I did too) and this time we both were pushing each other with both our hands. Other ladies intervened and separated us.

Has anyone else had such an incident and how to deal with it ?

Discussion Mumbai intl airport T2 wheelchair service nonsense

Is it a given now that we have to manage our own wheelchairs and the staff is just there to stand and waste time.

My old parents who are above 70 have been through this twice now. Staff just refuses to help.

Have you had similar experiences and what you did ?
Is there anything in this is city which is not degrading ?

General Birthday coming up! Need recommendations for places to celebrate.

Planning an outing with 4 friends and looking for a place with good ambience, great food, and fun activities.

I was considering Miya kebab in bandra but it feels like just a food outing. Berlin brew in oshiwara looks promising but how’s the food there?

Any other recommendations that offer a good mix of food, ambience and activities? Thanks

Careers Any Young Independent Filmmakers Looking to Collaborate with Actors?

Hi everyone!
I’m an aspiring actor based in Mumbai, and I’d love to connect with young, independent filmmakers, directors, or student filmmakers who are currently working on short films or other creative projects and might be looking for actors.
I’d be more than happy to collaborate on a project and explore opportunities to act, learn, and gain experience. If you’re working on something or know someone who might be looking for an actor, please feel free to reach out!
I also wanted to ask: Is it possible to get auditions directly, or do you generally need a manager or casting agent to access acting opportunities? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any advice you might have for someone starting out.
Looking forward to connecting with fellow creatives.
Thank you! 😊

Careers I need advice and guidance cause so much is going on rn

I'm laid off from my company cause the company isn't making any profit the department. Lot of things are going on in my head rn and I've no idea what should I do.
I had clear plan to build my small business which I built and launched but it's not full fledged rn. Before I could do anything good I'm laid off. Now I have to find job and I've absolutely no motivation to find another job cause of salary people offering its too low. I don't have any major financial responsibilities but I don't want to depend on my mother. I have savings for like 2-3 months. Which can burn early depending on how much I spend in my business. My business is 80% setup but I still have to start posting on social media platforms to get sales.
I'm worried if i get bad job which eats up most of my time and I wouldn't be able to give time for my business. I don't share about my business with employer but I think I should communicate that I'm not okay with late sitting?? But that would significantly lower my chances to get the job? I have to do job because otherwise how am gonna do my business? Should business be my priority but it's not prove yet it'll pay my bills. Off course I can do job but I'm absolutely not happy. I wish I could find a work which is doing so much ai in different areas of business cause I've absolutely no desire and motivation to work in my current profile which is of a 3d generalist and there are almost no jobs for it or very low pay.
Could someone please guide me a bit? I'm 28f if that matters. I already have changed careers due to my struggling past and now I've no idea what career to pursue till the time my business is good enough to pay bills.
