ALOR SETAR, Oct 14 — Three teenage boys were injured by an electric shock after a flag they were carrying during a vegetable temple procession in Mergong, near here, tonight allegedly came into contact with a high-voltage power line.

Mergong Vegetable Temple Association Secretary Chah Boon Chuan said the incident, which occurred at about 9pm, resulted in two 17-year-old victims and one 16-year-old being rushed to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) here.

“The incident happened while thousands of procession participants were marching along the main road in the area before one of the flags allegedly hit the power line. The flag was blown by strong winds during light rain before it was suspected of hitting the power line.

“A teenager holding the flag and two others who were nearby were injured due to the electric shock. All three of them are understood to be receiving treatment in the red zone of HSB,” he said when met at the compound of the HSB Emergency and Trauma Department last night.

He said the three teenagers are still receiving treatment and their current condition is not yet known.

“The pole used to carry the flag was made of bamboo, and this is the first time such an incident has occurred,” he said.

We are currently the most polluted city in the world right now, and we are still supposed to come to work in these conditions?

This is a literal war crime.

This is bigger than another match.

This is a moment for Malaysia. For Southeast Asian wrestling. For every dream that once felt too far away.

Hi everyone!

I'm a solo indie developer from Malaysia, and I recently released a free horror game called Highway: Yellow.

It's inspired by the Volkswagen Kuning legend, where a mysterious yellow Beetle repeatedly appears along the highway.

I wanted to recreate that experience through driving rather than traditional ghost encounters.

The game takes around 10 minutes to finish.

If anyone wants to try it:

Thanks for checking it out!

I went to an event at KL today instead of sitting at my desk job and finally experienced how bad the haze is… How is no one wearing a mask??

Previously it was announced that, once API reached 180 schools must close immediately , 150 for three consecutive days also meant schools must close. But now it is raised to 200

Previously, under the Occupational Safety and Health (Prohibition of Use of Substance) Order 1999, only the crocidolite form of asbestos (blue asbestos) was banned under Malaysia's OSHA since 1999.

Now under this new OSHA regulation, which will officially take effect on 15 October 2027, the ban was widened to include the amosite, fibrous anthophyllite, tremolite, and actinolite forms of asbestos.

However, the most widely used form of asbestos, chrysotile (white asbestos), was not included under this 2026 ban.

Today really feel quite uncomfortable with the surrounding, and can see the haze getting thicker somemore.

With the API going up and up and not coming down. Seriosuly, the situation seems like getting worse than before. 😷
