I'm Chinese right but I don't really feel like I belong to Chinese like I was born in the wrong ethnicity. I started to have this thought in mid high school, like I don't really feel like I belong in the Chinese community, yes I speak Chinese fluently but I just don't really think I was meant for it. I often feel like I belong in the western community and just feel like a disconnection to my roots. I often express that I don't want to be Chinese. And also I often feel like I was discriminating against Chinese people, I feel terrible but just like I want to meet other people, surrounded by other people other than Chinese people. Also I often called banana at school because of how outstanding my English and how dog shit my Chinese is. And also with people too, I don't feel connected with a lot of Chinese people, I was thinking mainly because I consume western media aka TikTok while Chinese people just stay in their bubble of Chinese stuff so at school their memes and the memes I consume are not close and I really don't have stuff to talk about. At school I only talk English to one person and she became my bestie, soon another one, so just two only I can fully talk English with at school because everyone's English are so garbage.
Idk if I make sense or not, I just feel like..I was born wrong, I don't feel connected to the Chinese community.
I was planning to move to New Zealand after I make enough money because again I don't feel like I belong. I know Malaysia has a lot of English speaking people but I low-key want to disconnect myself from my roots and go to somewhere I truly feel like I belong

I’m visiting KL soon and planning to shop for my parents and family.
I’m curious where middle-class or upper-middle-class locals actually shop for men’s and women’s clothing, handbags, and shoes.
Not looking for luxury designer brands, overpriced tourist spots, or super-cheap street stalls. Just good-quality stuff at reasonable prices.
Would love recommendations for specific shopping areas, malls, or local stores that offer good value for money.
Thanks in advance!

Thanga Ganesan, Presiden Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS)

Hello fellow Malaysians,
I’m not sure if this is considered off-topic but let’s give it a shot anyway.
As per title, anyone here have any experience living in Guangzhou; just southern China, or China in general?
How does the cost of living (COL) there compare in general to Malaysia; specifically Klang Valley or Kuching? We are family of 4; husband and wife, 2 kids below primary school age.
Also, how are you and family; or just yourself, able to fit in culturally? How’s the local commute looks like? Traffic behaviour (aggressive driving) there? Malls and recreational? What’s their crime and deviance locally looks like? Safe for kids (I meant kid friendly is all)?
How does their healthcare look like? Are the prices of medication/gp visits just like ours or?
Plus, is it really not able to use google and stuff there? Are we still able to access the internet in general there? Or need to use VPN? Mobile plan?
Accommodation rental? Is it also first and last month rental + 0.5 month utilities + some other deposits?
Food costs? Family and I are generally okay with eating chinese food as we are mix of sino anyway, and are already eating chinese food most of the time, aside from the occasional decadence that is nasi Kandar and Dayak food.
Children education should be already covered by employer.
Income: about RMB 560,000 annually, with RMB 400,000 performance bonus one off. Single income.
Employment is contract for 2 years, with possibility to tenure. Office location is Tianhe District.
Hope someone with experience can chip in, thanks in advance!

Emart24 CEO reports a 25% drop in essential goods sales and 20% decline in customer footfall since SARA expanded.
Emart24 is excluded from SARA despite selling approved essentials, putting the chain at a disadvantage against participating retailers.
Merchants can join SARA by meeting requirements including SSM registration, a POS system, and stocking items from seven essential categories.

Curious what the modeling scene is like in KL, particularly fashion and commercial work.
Are there any working models here? Would be interested to hear about your experiences, what the industry is like, and how it compares to other markets in Asia.
Especially interested in perspectives from people actually working in the industry.

My mum told me about a family situation that worries all of us. The land sale itself seems genuine, but we suspect one of my cousins has been caught up in a scam.
What happened:
- Land registered under 4 of my mum's siblings has been sold through 5 middlemen. One of the siblings promised my mum a portion.
- My mum said the money is current held by the law firm and can only be released once the buyer gets the land title.
- Separately, one of my cousins (a child of one co-owner) suddenly and urgently needed couple hundres of thousands for a "loan" or debt (they are not telling the true reasons). Few of my mums sibling was even asked to mortgage their house, and refused. (phew!)
- That co-owner then got their portion released early to pay the debt, apparently because their daughter works at the law firm.
- My mum was scammed late last year, so this pattern feels familiar.
Questions:
Can a lawyer release one co-owner's share early because a relative works at the firm, while the others wait?
Is it normal for a land sale to go through 5 middlemen? Do they all take a cut?
Does my cousin's situation sound like a scam or loan sharks (Ah Long)? or gamble debt etc? Drugs related?
How do we keep my mum and her other siblings from being pulled in or asked for money? Should we talk to politicians or police?
Any advice appreciated.
TL;DR: A family land sale went through 5 middlemen. One co-owner got paid early through their daughter at the law firm to cover my cousin's urgent debt, while the others wait 6 months. Is the early payout allowed, and does the debt sound like a scam?

Hi nyets, company is offering one corporate discount with optimax. Been considering some form of eye correction surgery since my eyesight is quite bad, close to 800 in power and astigmatism is about 300.
Anyone got any positive or negative experience with optimax or any of the similar providers to share?
Thank you!

I noticed the readings could stay at like 80 even though the air quality is clearly in the unhealthy/very unhealthy range. And it seems like they are delayed as well? Like it would be hours and hours or even a day or more until the readings spike up.
AirVisual is definitely more fast updating but I don't know how much I could trust their readings because after all, it's a business trying to sell you products so maybe the readings could be inflated?

Just curious, is there any events or VIPs coming into Bandar Sunway today?? The traffic jam is SO BAD today. Usually, around 9/10am, the traffic would be okay and not like the early morning traffic. But now, I’m stuck in a traffic jam around Mentari area near the BRT even until 10am…
Anyone knows what’s going on? Or was there an emergency going on here??
