Statements Remember Kids - Gravity. Always. Wins.
Short story short.
On Monday morning, I took the phone out of my pocket and completely lost control of it. It went flying and French kissed the only piece of steel that was on the floor at the time. The force was strong with this one.
I purchased Apple Care right after picking it up and made a request to fix the screen. Went to the Apple Store a few hours later only to be told that they do not actually offer screen repairs for the 18 Pro just yet as it is "too new" of a model (at least at that specific Apple Store).
They went ahead and ordered a replacement unit that showed up around noon on Wednesday (2 days later).
Total cost was $15 (Apple Care) + $100 (new unit) + emotional trauma, before taxes.
I usually break my phones once a year except for the very last one I had, a 14 Pro, which managed to make it 4 years without a single problem.
I should’ve done better and I will from now on.
I would like to point out that I was honest with Apple the whole time, on the phone and in person. I told them that I had bought Apple Care after the damage was done. I’m not saying that everyone should do that, but it worked for me.
The irony in all this is that I climb and work on cell phone towers for a living. Never dropped a phone from a tower before. All this happened at my company’s shop .. on the ground.
Anyway, good job to those tech companies for demonstrating good customer service. Lenovo also has done right by me in the past.
Razer .. I still f-*** hate your guts
