I was a teacher for 30 years. If I did surgery on your child, they wouldn't be coming home as a different gender. They wouldn't be coming home at all.
This is because I am not a surgeon, and I don't know how to properly perform surgery. None of my colleagues were surgeons either.
If we were able and willing to perform surgeries, why would we work as teachers for $60k when we could be surgeons for $300k?

u/Wiochmen 16h ago
I've replaced my own brakes and rotors, swapped out electrical outlets, how hard can a little redesign of human anatomy be? 20 minutes, tops. No recovery time. Just snip, snap, snip, snap, and Bob's your uncle.

My mom recently retired from teaching for 30+ and she says the same thing every time they push this lie. She usually didn't have time to grab a diet coke from the teacher's lounge between classes much less perform medical procedures. But sure, make the educators the boogeyman! Idiotic isn't a strong enough word...
4
u/danjouswoodenhand 11h ago
Now that I'm retired, I've been subbing every once in a while. I've visited multiple schools in multiple districts. I have noticed that teachers have NO time to be doing these surgeries (at best, your prep is 60 minutes long). They also have NO supplies to be doing these surgeries (I sometimes can't find a pen, kleenex or piece of paper - where am I getting the drugs and medical equipment for surgery?). They also have NO place to be doing these surgeries - the nurse's office has at best 4 beds, no sterile area, and if there is any unused area, it's probably covered with cobwebs, dust, and several years' worth of file folders and papers.
3
u/ro50 11h ago
Free time and logistical issues aside, these accusations suggest that teachers have evil intentions and are not to be trusted. I can't speak for all teachers but I can for my mom: The only reason she ever wanted to become a teacher was because she saw the value of a good education and she wanted to help students learn. That's the whole reason. She was the type of teacher who would volunteer to chaperone dances or work concessions at HS football games. Her students loved her. She didn't take the job for the money and she damn sure didn't take the job because she thought it would be a great chance to practice experimental surgeries. If we keep treating teachers like this, soon enough there won't be any left.

u/retoricalprophylaxis 9h ago
The first time he pushed this lie was during the 2024 campaign. He said that the kids wouldn't come home for a week or two. Now it's happening at recess. I imagine someone told him that only rich people who hate their kids send their kids away to boarding schools for weeks at a time.

First it was the subtle lead poisoning, then the lack of education, and finally being told "on repeat" that 'America is the absolute greatest at everything' made many Americans think that they don't need to put any more effort in.
34
u/GrzDancing 19h ago
I second this so much. There's something that happens to the brain (or, rather not), when the person is told from the youngest years "You've made it, you're here, you're in the best country in the world, you can relax". There's no 'push' to be better, to try harder.
In my country we all get the message of 'Our country is beautiful, it's ugly, it's loving, it's a bastard. Its not great, but we can all make it better by working hard".

I knew a manager at a mid sized company, who was convinced that kitty litter was kept in class rooms to accommodate children who self identified as cats.
This otherwise rational manager was certain that kids were shitting in a box in the corner of classrooms. And teachers and admin just let them.
Kitty litter is kept in class rooms in case someone throws up to soak up the smell and fluid. It’s absorbent and smell reducing.

To be fair, my daughter attends a forest preschool and apparently is most comfortable doing her business in the woods. She does not, as far as I’ve been made aware, identify as a bear. I’ve not yet offered a litter box, but my guess is she would prefer a tree. Maybe we should just take kids outside more, and nobody would care. Also, the whole litter box thing sounds like complete hogwash that never occurred.

He literally learned how to spell the word dumb this year and felt the need to tell eveyone. I'm not sure how much of his current stupidity is actually just dementia, but he's never been a genius.
He's definitely smart in some areas but not as much as he thinks or gets credit for. He knows how to manipulate people, how organized crime and corruption works, and understands the legal system enough to threaten others and protect himself with it. His depth of knowledge is minimal though. He's been surrounded his whole life by people who are paid to know and do all the work that requires actual intelligence. Even in the business world, his name is on top of the page but other people are do all the work to make any profits. His contributions to his businesses is usually just demanding loans against all their assets and bankrupting them after spending the money to fill some pockets. He's a terrible businessman and is doing the same thing with our country that he's done with most of his companies, drain all the assets before declaring bankruptcy once there's nothing left for the creditors.

Here is what he is doing. By definition, gender is a social construct. It’s the role one plays in society based off their sex and behavior. Most cultures have multiple genders. So technically he is not wrong that kids can change their gender at school. Technically I can change mine as I type this. Not exactly how it works but that’s it in a nutshell. Sex on the other hand, is the biological aspect. Male, female, or intersex. To change any of those, as many have said throughout this thread is a major process that takes years. Over time gender has become synonymous with sex, hence “gender reveal parties”. Sounds better than “sex reveal parties” when including friends and family but technically you are revealing the sex of the baby.
It’s like hypothesis and theory. You probably hear all the time that someone has a theory on how to do something or how something works. When in actuality, they have a hypothesis because they have not done any testing and trials and research. Failed. Then tried again. A hypothesis becomes a theory after all of that.
These are two of many words that have taken on different meanings from true meanings in common everyday language. He is playing on this and people are buying it up because of this. Most likely he is just as dumb and thinks this too. If you get bored one day, have this discussion with some who believes kids are having sex changes at school and watch their brain malfunction.

u/HelloThisIsDog666 11h ago
And many trans ppl never get surgery
5
u/Alexandratta 10h ago
Yes, thank you!
After the one surgery I did have (not bottom) I basically said: "Okay... yeah, not getting the bottom surgery if this is what recovery is like from just fat redistribution."
Some people bounce back from major surgery fast, I did not. And I can't imagine the pain/discomfort/inability to function that would come from bottom surgery.
To the dolls that do get it: Kudos. Seriously... that's a trek. But most of us will just deal with special undies.
2
u/South_Hedgehog_7564 11h ago
That’s true too. I was referring to the full process. There’s a HUGE amount of things to be done in terms of psych evaluations, hormone treatment and God knows what else before surgery is even mentioned. The two people I know were both M to F and did the whole procedure which took two years for each of them.

2 years in therapy before we discussed the possibility of me being trans.
Then months of me doing the prepwork, deciding if this was the right step, socializing as the opposite gender, etc (and feeling great female-presenting, I'll add!)
and I'm 1 year on initial HRT and 1 surgery in (probably the last, tbh)
And for kids there's way more psych evaluation. TBH I didn't have to do a whole lot of psychiatric evals, but I'm also an adult going into this following years of therapy - insurance didn't seem to care one way or the other.
It's a long road to be sure.
4
u/AnatidaephobiaAnon 9h ago
One of my oldest friends came out as trans in like 2012, went to tons of doctors appointments before ever getting HRT, then went to a bunch more for bottom surgery. Overall it took like 4 years just to get to the surgery. She then flew to San Francisco, had another few days of consults, then the actual surgery and if I remember right it was like 5 weeks of recovery before going home and then even more training after that.
People who think this is a decide on Monday, have it done on Friday are brain dead stupid. Hell, my ACL reconstruction was a consult, some MRIs, a visit to my PCP and then I had to wait six weeks for the surgery.

So can we talk about how red state schools are indoctrinating their kids with religion and how weird it is to get toddlers to pledge allegiance to the government?
Because that’s far weirder and unacceptable than encouraging kids to be who they want to be
25
u/CookiesAreBaking 20h ago
Not American, so don't know for sure, but I highly doubt trans kids get major surgeries. Might get blockers, and later hormones. But doesn't big surgery options have to wait till you're legally an adult anyways?
23
u/Sheerluck42 20h ago
I grew up in entertainment industry in Los Angeles. I knew 13yo who got nose jobs. A boob job was an actual sweet 16 gift for a girl I knew. Cis kids have been getting gender affirming care for the longest time. Now as for trans kids this will heavily be dependent on when they started transitioning and the medical team including psychologists. The vast majority will only get things like blockers. If a kid has been transitioning for a long time and has the requisite medical team they may get some surgeries like feminizing their face. Only in the rarest of times would you see top surgery on a minor.
18
u/1877KlownsForKids 18h ago

3
u/Jazzyjen508 17h ago
Is a nose job considered gender affirming care? I get a boob job but I didn’t realize a nose job was as well.
10
u/hopping_otter_ears 16h ago
Do you consider slender noses with a little uplift at the end to be generally more feminine than higher arched, eagle-beaked, or wider noses?
Many people do
18
u/Rolandscythe 19h ago
Yes. Most US states already have laws in place against minors getting non-emergency surgery performed, and even the ones that are allowed, such as teeth being corrected, very specifically requires a guardian's consent before it can be performed.
So there is no way whatsoever that kids are going to school and coming home with a gender swap the parents never knew about.
This is entirely far right bullshit meant to scare the very vocal minority of the population that fall for it.
18
u/TheSouthsideTrekkie 16h ago
This is an ongoing misinformation campaign in the U.K. too. Nobody is giving kids major surgeries here. Kids below puberty age just get supported with social transition and giving family and friends some understanding as well as counselling if they need it. Adolescents will be offered puberty blockers and some help to understand what they want to do going forward. There is an incredibly long waiting list for surgeries, partly because the hospitals that offer them were getting harassed by people. Most people who get surgery have been on hormones for a long time so have had tge opportunity to understand what that means for them and if they actually want it.
3
u/Jamesmateer100 13h ago
I want to see these types of people sit down with social psychologists and gender studies professors and just TALK with them and ask questions straight from the people who actually know what they’re talking about and have actually studied these kinds of topics.
11
u/hopping_otter_ears 16h ago
Something tells me that most of the "schools are secretly transitioning your kids" meltdown comes down to "the school is allowed to let your kid present as a different gender" and "they're not required to tell the parents that little Johnny is going by Jennie at school"
5
u/jhern1810 17h ago edited 15h ago
But that’s the whole purpose behind it , to tell you they changed your kids without your consent just to get your blood boiling against the opposition. It is not true there is no single case recorded and if they were the case would be so obvious, I mean think about the resources just to have a doctor on staff to have all this happening to children, it is the dumbest thing possible, when some schools are barely sustainable as it is.
4
u/euqinu_ton 16h ago edited 16h ago
Actual: children can receive hormone therapy to begin gender transition.
Many are happy with just this process - started young enough, they can achieve near pass levels of transition, and may opt to keep their original genitalia (non-op).
Others want the full deal and essentially fit into pre-op category until they are of age or can afford bottom surgery. Then they're pretty much as male or female as you or I. And classed as post-op
The above arrives in Trump's mind and suddenly: then BAM!! schools are trying trans your kid.

2
u/MonoBlancoATX 14h ago
I used to work in a nursing school and have spoken with multiple experts who do this exact type of work.
Nothing. Not a single thing, including therapy and medication, happens without explicit prior authorization and lengthy discussion between parents, social workers, psychologists, medical experts, and the child.
ZERO surgery is conducted on any children. AT ALL. No surgery takes place until they are adults in most cases, and in some small number of cases beginning around 16 years of age.
Nobody is being "mutilized".
2
u/EastObject5836 10h ago

The problem is that the people who believe this have zero idea how surgery works and have done zero research into how it's performed so they do, in fact, think it can be performed in an afternoon. Because they've been told it can and have no inclination to believe otherwise.

This whole idea is deeply embarrassing for America. That there are a significant number of you that believe this is just monumentally stupid.

For people filled with fear and hate logic occupies a backseat. Those people fit any crazy idea into their fear-filled hate-driven minds. Like flat-earthers they make the world fit their imagination.

Do you know how entitled a white American is? They feel no need to educate or better themselves. They get to say things like “I don’t keep up with politics. “. “Both sides are the same” because usually that’s true. Whoever gets elected, they’re usually taken care of. The farmers who make their money off subsidies condemn socialism and government assistance. They use illegal immigrants on their farms but fully support ICE and its activities. That is the kind of disconnect they are living with. There are even a bunch a people that voted for and fully supported defunding Obamacare while being on Obamacare. Their response “I’m not on Obamacare, I am on ACA. “. It’s the same thing you dumb fucking idiot. Now there are a large number of rural hospitals being closed down because they were partially funded by ACA. I cannot even say that these people were motivated by greed because if they were they wouldn’t vote against their self interest.

No one is this stupid. We can’t even “afford” to feed our children nutritious meals at school. What moron thinks we’re paying for transition surgery?

u/fariasrv 16h ago
Short answer: relentless right-wing propaganda and 50 years of intentional disinvestment in public education.

Yes. People believe this. They believe nonsense, the truth is to hard, or to scary for them to understand.

u/pumainpurple 15h ago
Such a blatant exhibition of cretinous behavior. Sex reassignment surgery in the time it takes for a school day, truly fools.

u/ChiSchatze 15h ago
I thought inflation and loss of rights were my biggest issues. But the rampant trans surgeries on our playgrounds needs to be front and center.
2
u/zardozLateFee 14h ago
It's "true" because it gives you the "right" feeling ie horror and outrage. That's all that matters now.

u/Alarming_Cellist_751 14h ago
These are the same people that fall for the litter box in elementary schools bullshit. They eat this shit up if it affirms their world view.
2
u/ThatOldDuderino 14h ago
They believed the “eating dogs & cats” line and he said that on TV! I thought he was cooked but nope … proven wrong! Idiocy & racism in big numbers ALWAYS wins.

Minnesota isn't transgendering kids during recess. It can barely fund after-school sports with the cuts from Washington in the big beautiful bill.

And then they come home and eat the cats and dogs.
Conservatives are just stupid.

Trans-woman... and uh... The Bottom Surgery that Trump (and other bigots) tend to think is the thing that defines you as a woman, is not just something that's major, MAJOR surgery... it's also something that many MtF do not do.
Mainly because the recovery process is long, arduous, and the risks are sky high. Loss of sensation, major infection risk, the wound can CLOSE and leave you with the anatomy of a Barbie Doll... etc...
Also, and this is just a 'no shit' moment: Major Surgery like this would leave you on your ass for a bare minimum of 2 weeks, if not a full month.
I had body sculpting done, basically fat removal/redistribution... and that took 2-weeks out of my life while I recovered, 1month post op and I still couldn't bend/flex. 3 months post op now, and I still feel 'bloated' in spots, but at least now I can function at like, 95% of what I could do before.
tl;dr: None of the surgery these morons are thinking about is something you can recover from instantly.

If it was true, they would have produced just one of these children. Just not within 500 feet of Donald because he is a prolific child rapist.

I mean my conservative MIL really believes that some kids identify as cats and schools give them litter boxes. You know the same schools that can’t feed hungry kids without putting them in debt, don’t have enough money for school supplies and books, have overworked underpaid teachers…but they accommodate the cat identifying children and provide and clean their litter boxes.

Crazy how they can do a full sex change operation so fast that the kids can go home that very same day, hellava turn around on a very complicated surgery.

u/spidermans_mom 9h ago
You know it never happened even once; they’d be parading these “affected” families in front of all the cameras and on every news channel. There is not a single news story anywhere about this happening. Who is paying for these “surgeries”? When did a school ever kidnap a kid and not allow them to go home to give unwanted medical care? When was a school district ever caught purchasing the medical equipment necessary for this to happen? There are tons of families affected by gun violence in schools, and all of them speak out. Where are these parents of the kids this is supposedly happening to?

The dudes I work with, unironically and earnestly believe this happens every day. Its wild because i can be having a highly technical conversation with these guys about our work, and next minute they start rifling off regurgitated OAN/ NEWSMAX/ FOX propaganda points, and immediately beeline into talking about trans folks.
I’ve found that the nation is legitimately in peril after 10 years of this bullshit. Like trump leaving office is not going to fix any of this. These people need to be put in de-nazification / re-education programs to unwind the brain parasites that they’ve allowed to ruminate in their tiny minds.
The culture war is fake, anti-trans people think about trans people more than trans people think about trans people, and want to fuck them/ get fucked by them. Theres no wiggle room here. Which is totally fine too, but at least be real with yourself.
Every major conservative or republican conference that takes place throughout the country crashes the Grindr servers. This is not a real timeline. Conservatism and American Christo-Fascist nationalist sentiment is just code speak for “I’m deeply repressed and want to taste girl cock or regular cock, I’m not picky”.

u/TissBish 6h ago
This is why he appeals to the really dumb. Anyone who believes this kind of stuff can’t be thinking it through. I have to sign consent forms for the once a year sex ed. They’re not regendering your kid if they won’t even talk about puberty without an okay
