Trump is living proof ......

-that a con-man doesn't have to be smart if his victims are stupid enough

In the 90s, Trump interviewed w/a reporter on his NYC penthouse veranda. & in the interview, he talked ab how he floated the idea of running for president; & that, after weighing it carefully, he said that, between dem/repub, he would run as a republican, bc "Republicans are the stupidest voters out there", & that he could get them to believe anything he said & wanted.

I thought this was debunked? Do you have a source? Asking in good faith and hoping it’s real because it damn well fits.

No, I don't have it of the top of my head. But I watched a good part of the interview; & that's the part that stood out, for me. He was talking about his success in life & etc etc.

If you can find the interview you'd be doing better than the entire Reuters research team.

I legit remember seeing him say this, but searching the internet and I'm finding nothing on this. I remember him talking about possibly running and running as a Republican because it would be easier to do.

Yes, I saw (a good part of) the interview, too. In the 90s, I was considering possibly moving to NYC, & since it was about Trump, who I associated strongly w/businesses there, I watched it. Years later, I saw it again, replayed (within these past maybe few yrs). I bet he had it scrubbed from the internet or smthg.

So is Trump actually stupid or is Trump actually smart and understands his voter and plays the part to get his own way?

He WAS, in the manipulative asshole way where someone can always seem to get someone else to do whatever they want, but if you compare his old interviews to his current self you can see there's nothing left up there.

Just to clarify, I don't support him and I think he's a terrible, malicious person, but he wasn't stupid originally.

He believes he is intelligent.

An IQ of 1775. Doubt him at your own risk.

...I don't want to admit that he was right about something, but...

they’re not just being stupid, they’re being actively and strategically miseducated by powerful people who benefit from it.

He's living proof that a conman doesn't have to say anything believable if the victim wants to believe what is said. His victims want to believe that kids are getting turned trans. That is why they never look any deeper than that.
