I knew a manager at a mid sized company, who was convinced that kitty litter was kept in class rooms to accommodate children who self identified as cats.

This otherwise rational manager was certain that kids were shitting in a box in the corner of classrooms. And teachers and admin just let them.

Kitty litter is kept in class rooms in case someone throws up to soak up the smell and fluid. It’s absorbent and smell reducing.

my sister was like this too, when I had her look up where this story came from, when she read the origins of this, she blamed the liberal media for hiding the "truth"

This is a person with a master's degree too.

You already see this—level of education, even higher education, does not automatically grant the ability of critical thinking. For the most part, education in US focuses on memorization, not building the framework of critical thought.

This particular nugget (no pun intended) has spread across the world. My dad is pretty leftwing, and we live in the UK. I was shocked to hear him state this as an 'isn't the world getting crazy' fact at the start of this year.

Blew me away how far this disinfo has spread. I genuinely fear for the future if we can't get a handle on disinfo, especially now AI use is becoming commonplace.

Sadly some of the kids were telling their parents this, trying to make it a joke.

And nobody bothered to ask a single teacher?! Geeze

Which nugget? (Sorry, I’m having a slow day!!) Is it trump’s announcement about the kids?

The bit about 'they're turning kids into furries with litter trays'

1

Hahaaaaaa yes! Can you imagine kids agreeing to crap in a litter tray in front of all their mates? lol

Joke aside, it horrified me that even my sweet old dad had been infected with this bullshit. Thank fuck we don't quite have Fox News here. It's called GB News, and so far a billionaire is keeping it afloat because it's not popular enough to be profitable.

I expect that's how Fox News started too, though.

I’m in Ireland, we’ve got Fox and CNN on Sky but I seldom watch them. I only get GB News online but I find it a bit right wing for my taste.

To be fair, my daughter attends a forest preschool and apparently is most comfortable doing her business in the woods. She does not, as far as I’ve been made aware, identify as a bear. I’ve not yet offered a litter box, but my guess is she would prefer a tree. Maybe we should just take kids outside more, and nobody would care. Also, the whole litter box thing sounds like complete hogwash that never occurred.

As long as the parents aren’t using it as an excuse to attack the two trans kids in a 1200 student school- it really shouldn’t matter.

That was what the crazies were trying to say :

  • this ‘self identity ‘ has gone to far. And we need to punish anyone who doesn’t conform.

It was absolutely ridiculous.

Not that unusual for little boys to like to pee outside, so this doesn't seem too strange to me. Kids are a little weird sometimes 🤷

BIG boy here. Still like to pee outside 🤷🏼‍♂️

My husband does too 🤣 we live way out in the country and he'd rather go outside then listen to me bug him about putting the seat down

It was a joke by Gen a(I think) to prove how stupid adults were. Just like tide pods from gen z. Nobody did that shit unless they fell for the social media psy op and did it to fit in.

I had to correct a site manager running a $1 billion dollar job that this was fake, and all he could tell me was, “look it up”. I kept telling him that I had, and that it was fake. He had no intention of even trying to see if he was wrong.

Did you ask him if he identifies as a cat?

I taught 5th grade and never had kitty litter in my classroom. None of my colleagues had kitty litter in their classroom. I work at a different school now and no classroom has kitty litter.

And not one kid ever recorded it and posted the video online.

It's also in the event of a school shooting to soak up the blood. It's included with a bucket to use the bathroom and blankets to cover bodies if they lock down a classroom. Pretty fucked up.

Yet...we keep talking about trans folks.

People truly believe it.
I’ve had two clients tell me this is true. My response is ArE yOu SeRiOuS?! And they both happen to have an uncle that taught school upstate and had one in his classroom. WHAT A COINCIDENCE.

Did you ask him if he identifies as a cat?

Or if the school has a shelter in place lock down from a active shooter  ,they can use  the 5 gallon bucket to relieve themselves ,

1

u/HelloThisIsDog666 14h ago

So at no point did he think that sounded phenomenally stupid...

1

u/blueavole 12h ago

It was a couple of people talking…..

They were all totally convinced it was true.
