After the one surgery I did have (not bottom) I basically said: "Okay... yeah, not getting the bottom surgery if this is what recovery is like from just fat redistribution."
Some people bounce back from major surgery fast, I did not. And I can't imagine the pain/discomfort/inability to function that would come from bottom surgery.
To the dolls that do get it: Kudos. Seriously... that's a trek. But most of us will just deal with special undies.
That’s true too. I was referring to the full process. There’s a HUGE amount of things to be done in terms of psych evaluations, hormone treatment and God knows what else before surgery is even mentioned. The two people I know were both M to F and did the whole procedure which took two years for each of them.
2 years in therapy before we discussed the possibility of me being trans.
Then months of me doing the prepwork, deciding if this was the right step, socializing as the opposite gender, etc (and feeling great female-presenting, I'll add!)
and I'm 1 year on initial HRT and 1 surgery in (probably the last, tbh)
And for kids there's way more psych evaluation. TBH I didn't have to do a whole lot of psychiatric evals, but I'm also an adult going into this following years of therapy - insurance didn't seem to care one way or the other.
Yeah well the entire idea is so dumb and impracticable. If believing that doesn't show that the frontal cortex is completely off I don't know what would.
