Not American, so don't know for sure, but I highly doubt trans kids get major surgeries. Might get blockers, and later hormones. But doesn't big surgery options have to wait till you're legally an adult anyways?

This is an ongoing misinformation campaign in the U.K. too. Nobody is giving kids major surgeries here. Kids below puberty age just get supported with social transition and giving family and friends some understanding as well as counselling if they need it. Adolescents will be offered puberty blockers and some help to understand what they want to do going forward. There is an incredibly long waiting list for surgeries, partly because the hospitals that offer them were getting harassed by people. Most people who get surgery have been on hormones for a long time so have had tge opportunity to understand what that means for them and if they actually want it.

I want to see these types of people sit down with social psychologists and gender studies professors and just TALK with them and ask questions straight from the people who actually know what they’re talking about and have actually studied these kinds of topics.
