[PS5] Looking for a open world game like Elden Eing

Looking for an open world game like Elden Ring. Not looking for soulslikes, unless they’re open world that is.

I love the sense of discovery in Elden Ring. You never know what awaited you. A strange enemy, an entire new biome, an amazing weapon.

Love the dungeons everywhere. Even the minor dungeons. I want to explore lots of interiors. Dungeons, castles, unique cave systems. Don’t just want a overworld map.

And love the handcrafted feel. Every area felt meticulously designed. From enemy placements to loot placement to level design. I don’t like procedurally generated stuff.

Don’t want a ton of dialogue and quests. Mostly want to be engaged with exploration and gameplay. I do enjoy lore and world building though, some optional stuff to flesh out the world, but that I’m not required to engage with.

So basically an open world with great exploring, a handcrafted feel (no procedural stuff), not a ton of quests and dialogue, and dungeon-esque interiors.

Here’s some examples:

Dragons Dogma 1 and 2. Both games have exactly what I’m looking for. A handcrafted world. Some unique dungeons, suprises to discover.

Outward. Smaller indie game, yet still retains a sense of wonder. Every dungeon felt unique.

Tears of the Kingdom. love the addition of the new caves in the overworld map. Quite a few of them genuinely surprised me. And the main dungeons were a big step up.

Mortal Shell 2. Basically mini Elden Ring

I’m currently eyeing Enshrouded, I’ve heard it’s got unique dungeons, has a handcrafted world, and features a lot of exploring. Anyone played it?

[PS5] Been wanting to give Crimson Desert a try

My main concern is how well the game performs on a base PS5. Didn’t buy initially because of similar concerns but now with the Enhanced version out has the game improved performance wise on a base machine. I know the game is not for everyone but if the game ends up running well who knows i might end up liking it.

Persona 3 reload on switch 2 is beautiful

Especially on handheld - it runs like an absolute dream and the visuals are beautiful.

I’m 5 hours in and excited to get my teeth into this one. So awesome knowing that metaphor is coming to the switch 2 soon and next year we’ll have persona 4 revival…and eventually persona 6!!

How do you guys feel about these?

[PS5] Stuck with a growing backlog

Hoping to have some help picking between the following:

RE Requiem
Silver Pines
007 First Light
Pragmata
Ghost of Yotei
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
The Blood of Dawnwalker

Am I missing any major games from 2026 for PS5?

Recent games that I beat include Mina The Hollower, Silksong, Hades 2, and the Demon Souls remake.

EDIT: Ok but what about Onimusha?

Should I buy Active Matter if...

  1. I love STALKER

  2. I enjoy extraction shooters

  3. I suck at pvp

  4. I'll mostly play solo and PVE but might dabble in PVP if it's not too sweaty

  5. I love STALKER

I don't hear it mentioned much, but it's often praised highly when it is. I just want a game to play in between longer story games and I think Active Matter looks pretty cool. How's it looking? Considering my conditions, should I buy it? Thanks.

[PC] If you've read my previous post, i've narrowed down to 3 games.

I have a few crazy thoughts so bare with me. I've narrowed my choices down to 3, Tarkov, GZW or Active matter.

Tarkov: Im scared that this game might outlive the newer Extraction shooters. I like how this game looks overall and Im willing to purchase it's highest edition.

GZW: I find the movement a little bit clanky. I believe a beefy rig is needed for this? I see so much potential with their future updates.

Active matter: This is too new for me to even judge, so i need your opinions on it. But so far, I really like the movement, the gun play and how the game looks overall.

[Other] Recommend me a good detective/logic game

I absolutely love logical deduction/detective/mystery games. Case/Rise of the Golden Idol, Obra Dinn, Chants of Sennaar, Outer Wilds (my favorite game of all time). Even a game like Tunic has some mind blowing logical discoveries.

I’ve tried a few others and they just didn’t quite scratch the same itch. Blue Prince and Seance of Blake Manor come to mind. Solid games but not quite for me.

Anyone have any other recommendations? I’m sure some things have come out more recently that would be up my alley (heard something about this Roottrees game, maybe that’s good? Dunno)

[PS5] Ace Combat 8, Dragons Dogma 2 Dark Arisen, or Blood of Dawnwalker?

Just curious what everyones preferences are. Coming off of finally finishing up Crimson Desert (long ass game) and all three look like my vibe.

With AC8- I played a tiny bit of Ace Combat 7 - my only experience with the genre. Played Armored Core though and it felt similar enough, enjoyed it for what it is. I'm not generally the kind of gamer who does multiple playthroughs, so I'm on the fence bc I foresee it being kind of short.

DD2-- I've held off on it bc I heard the base game was real rough, but been hearing the DLC fixes it up a fair bit and its decent now. I do like me some Capcom games and open world exploration, but the worry IG is that the game is still rough around the edges.

Dawnwalker is almost entirely on the fence bc I hate time constraints. I know thats like a dead horse at this point, and that its not SUPER constricting, but still. Witcher 3 might be my fav game OAT and I see this compared to that often, which catches my eye.

[PC] [BACKLOG] FF7 rebirth, kingdom hearts collection, kingdom come, or something else.

So bit different from usual, already got these games and they are sitting in the backlog. Just finishing FF7 remake, specifically doing the intermission, wanted to ask, am I better jumping straight into rebirth, or would it be better to take a break and touch something else? Of note in the backlog, to fill the "rpg" niche, it has kingdom hearts, the full collection and kingdom come deliverance 1. Theres also Crimson desert but that one is on hold after a few hundred hours to focus on the ones that can actually be finished. Or I could take a break from it, without having to jump into another big ass rpg and go play something else, like, idk mortal shell? Another month long minecraft phase? It would probably be faster than starting any of those.

In short, almost done with ff7 remaks, do I follow up with rebirth straight, take a break from ff and play some other rpg, or take a break from rpg overall to no exhaust rebirth and go play some more action focused or just shorter game.

[PS5] Hellraiser Revival or Valor Mortis?

Hey all! A little background: I love horror and I love history. I am a veteran souls player so soulslike games don’t bother me. This has been a great month for games, but I can really only get one for now. I like what I’ve seen in both games, but I honestly can’t decide between the two. I know Hellraiser has some jank in it, but I’m willing to look past it. Valor Mortis looks amazing and like a true hidden gem of a game with its setting, gameplay, voice cast, and art. So ultimately, which game should I get? Many thanks in advance friends!

[PC] I played Doom 2016 recently I really loved it and since the halloween sale is coming up whitch game should i get? Wolfenstine 1, Doom Eternal, Dmc5

Ik Doom Eternal might be the obvious choice but i kinda want something a little different from the Doom formula and setting, but im willing to get it if the two games differ enough. As for Dmc 5 i fear it might not be my cup of tea, idk why but i like the premise. That leaves Wolfenstine it was what i was planning to get but i heard it was just as long as Doom. So what should i get yall?

[PC] Should I buy the Dark Arisen dlc for Dragons Dogma 2 full price?

I have the base game already and the dlc is a tad expensive for me. I liked the base game, never really finished it. And by like, i really mean "like". I dont LOVE it as in, its the best game ever, but its also not the worst. Back when i played it, i had a bad pc so it didnt perform well. Now i have a better machine, but even then, the base game isnt changed. Im wondering if the dlc has enough content to justify buying it full price. Fresh enough to renew my interest in the game.

Either that, or i gotta wait for a sale in the winter but im very conflicted. Ive been both positive and negative reviews on the dlc.
