I (20 F) recently realized that I only like women that are older than me. I have some close friends in college. Every person I’ve dated has been the same age as me but still older than me by a year, and I’ve also always talked to women that are 1-4 years older than me. I have a friend that was dating someone I think around 5 years older than her, and the friend group did not approve of it. And I wanted to also say I agreed but I had no room to comment because I would’ve dated with the same age gap 😅
I spoke to 2 of my other friends about it (both in their mid-20s, 24 & 25) and they said that it was weird too. And if I dated someone like that, they’d be looking at the girl dating me weirdly. In a lot of ways I understand why they think it’s weird, I wouldn’t think or want to date someone who’s 18 or just turned 19. And it’s not like I’m interested in women who are 30, for me 25 is my cap lol.
Not to be the “I think I’m just too mature for people my age” person, but I really do think I just grew up quicker than I wanted to in life. So sometimes I feel a little disconnected with people closer to my age, and not because I just think it’s cool to date someone older. I’ve also always just gotten more along with people older than me in general.
I’m just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this feeling, or if anyone else sees where I’m coming from? Or is it actually just weird? I feel a bit wrong for having this preference, because to others it seems widely problematic. But I feel like that isn’t that crazy of a gap.

For context I will describe my appearance. A classmate told me before that I look like a doll, when they saw me in the hallways before when they didn't know me yet. People would always tell me I look a lot younger than my age and would always tell me I'm cute. They would also never really take me seriously even when angry cause my voice doesn't sound scary at all. With this I think I have a soft facial and voice. My style is idk I don't like to label myself as a masc or fem. I like to look cool or sometimes cutesy depending on my mood.
But is that attractive to girls? Most of the people who are interested in me that I know of are boys—the weird kind who stalks you and is a pervert—and never girls. What I observed online is that girls find it attractive when they have strong features. Majority seem to like cool looking or those androgynous kind. Or they like the breathtaking goddess/baddie kind. I'm neither, boys are the only ones that seem to be attracted to me and I hate it.

This feels so silly but I’m asking anyway.
I’m very masculine and also nonbinary and I’m looking for how to feel… sexier? My girlfriend is very fem (incredibly attractive, so hot, so sexy, so cutie patootie) and I loveeee girly clothes, though I don’t often feel comfortable wearing them. I actually wore my first dress in over 6 (??) years for a Murder Mystery party. I dress like a boy (button ups, polos, tshirts, the occasional tank top, etc.) and I realize it’s hard to spice up these outfits to feel… sexy. I’d say I dress nicely, I have style, and I accessorize and sometimes wear makeup to elevate the outfit.
It’s hard to feel sexy, especially in comparison to being around my beautiful girlfriend, our friends, out and about at the clubs, etc. I feel boring. I feel like a boy with boobs. I’m the accessory to those who I’m around. Please help!
Like we are doing a couples costume and her costume is so fun and sexy and mine is the boring boyfriend version lol.

Their friendship is actually so wholesome. This proves to me that Cara and Kendall never slept with each other and are genuinely just good friends who bonded in a difficult industry like modeling. This kind of banter comes naturally when two people have a long history and feel comfortable enough to tease each other without making every comment awkward.
You can also tell that Cara Delevingne is genuinely a nice person in real life because the women she's around seem to feel safe and comfortable with her. ❤️

Being plus size I've been treated like trash a few times before. I've been ghosted based on looks alone and when I asked if we could be just friends I was completely ignored so not even being friend zoned is good enough. I've been told I should just date another plus size woman because nobody fit or good looking is going to want you. But the thing is my body is not my type. No offense to other plus size women all bodies are beautiful in their own unique way, it's just I noticed I have a certain type. But being plus size I wonder if that'll ever happen. Also sorry if I offended anyone as that was not my intention.

so i work in retail and i have a work crush on a female, (i am a female). but the female I have a crush on has a girlfriend. when I found out, she had a gf I suppressed my feelings for her and took a step back and respected boundaries because of her being in a relationship. to describe our work connection we trash talk each other, but we’re cool with each other and I’m cool with her gf as well. We’re always laughing and making jokes having a good time at work. so last week I was working with my work crush, and her gf wasn’t working this shift, my work crush comes up behind me and asked me for a hanger and I jokingly said no, but was going to get her the hanger anyway, when I went to grab the hanger while she was behind me, she put her arm around my throat and choked me. Not in a Bart Simpson way or a headlock, like ifykyk the “freaky” choke. she did that for a couple of seconds and while that was happening I started laughing because I got turned on and enjoyed it. Immediately after I was shocked, but never brought it up to her to this day and just acted normal around her like that never happened and she does the same. but I started to see when she talks to my coworker about me in front of me. She’ll say oh I’m just a kid (mind you I’m 21 yrs old). So I’m confused what did that choke mean? did it mean anything? Could that have been just a joke? FOR CLARIFICATION WE NEVER FLIRTED OR HAD ANYTHING PHYSICAL HAPPEN BEFORE THIS.. My mind is racing for an answer, but I can’t ask her. I need answers from an experienced or wise WLW ASAP PLEASE. because why would she do that if she has a girlfriend and if right after that, she’s gonna be defensive and when a guy tries to get at me, she’ll call me a kid like I’m young and stuff like that (in front of me though) but ykwim? please i need actual answers here bc everyone I ask, says it’s sexual tension..

I’m so fucking disturbed. I was working out and this visibly masc lesbian came up to me, telling me “has anyone ever told you, you look like krysten ritter?” I had one of my airpods in but, I think I was speaking at normal volume like how I usually do. She fucking proceeded to tell me word for word “lower your voice” I couldn’t control my face, I was DISTURBED. Then she was said “I was just joking” heh yeah! Anyway she continued to talk to me and ask me a bunch of personal questions like, “how long have you been training?”, “what’s your name?”, “how old are you?”, “what’s ur family name? (I’m middle eastern, it’s a normal question to ask)”. Anyway I was playing along cause frankly this is the most action I’ve gotten in a while. But now after thinking about it, I’m disgusted. Because what do you mean you come hit on me and then PROCEED to tell me to lower my voice. Ew wtf!! Am I overreacting?

I’ve been single for a year now and sometimes I watch TikTok or listen to podcasts they said that they would not date anyone that is single for long periods of time. Is it real?! And why?!
Not that I don’t want to date with anyone but it’s just the people here in my country seem to be not my type and also if I found someone I find attractive I in fact did reach out to them but after getting rejected or they did not reply back I feel like I don’t want to do this anymore. I’ve only been with 2 people (women) in my entire 21yo lesbian life.

Maybe I am just overthinking a lot but as a femme I am finding it SUPER hard to find a sweet butch and I am not sure if it's because I live in a small city or if I am doing something wrong. Like seriously, I feel I am maybe doing something wrong idk

So, this girl was into me a few years ago (same hobby meet up) but I didn’t like girls back then and found her super annoying (why was she always so close to me hahaha). turns out I’m a lesbian and thought I’d give it a shot.
we met up and hit it off instantly (first meetup together). it was like in the movies, stretched into late evening, we could’ve talked for ages (for the vibe see last question).
BUT I’ve just moved to another city that’s like 3 hours away. AND she’s just gotten out of a serious thing. Its not even just a relationship, it would’ve been nice to have her (genuinely) just as a friend, too. but I tend to idealise stuff and then chase after people who don’t want me as they don’t idealise the situation. she did wanna meet up again but is it even possible to have any kind of relationship with her? I’d obviously keep on living and date and keep it super low stakes

I'm 19F virgin (obviously) and just moved for university. There wasn't really any lesbains back in my home town or any big LGBT groups so I have no experience in the gay stuff. I know porn is unreliable especially because it's catered towards a male audience so where do I find out what lesbian sex is actually like?
What does lesbian sex actually look like? How do I prepare? I've heard the stereotype that lesbains move quite fast and I'm so scared because I've never dated a woman and I have no idea what to expect 😭

I wasn't sure if this would count as NSFW so I just marked it that way to be safe.
So yesterday my girlfriend came over and we were having sex and my nail sort of scratched her and we stopped and i just started crying and saying I was sorry over and over again. I'm not sure if it was because of how vulnerable I felt or because I hurt her or something else entirely but I'm genuinely so embarrassed. If anyone has any other ideas as to why I might have done that please let me know but I mostly just wanted to tell someone about it.

edit: i probably should’ve worded the title differently. I’m sorry.
I saw a TikTok on my fyp tonight with a little kid who was sick at the doctors office and wouldn’t calm down til his dad showed up. I always feel sad and kinda jealous when I see stuff like that but I just shove it down cause it’s out of my control. It just made me particularly sad and in my head this time. I’m super sick and way overtired so that’s probably why honestly. But when I have these kinda moments where I get in my head about it, I think that maybe I am the way I am because I never knew what it was like to be loved by a man the way a dad loves his daughter. It’s probably not the case cause I always knew I liked girls but the thoughts are there. Does anyone else ever feel this way? Or am I kinda on my own on this one?

Hi lesbians, I'm a 29 years old lesbian and I never had a girlfriend, I met a feel nice girls during college but after I returned to my town I never met anyone who would match me and that's not a problem to me, I feel lonely sometimes but it's cool. The thing is, I was scrolling through twitter/x and I saw a girl saying that she would never date a woman +23 years old who never had a relationship because that means they're so unbearable and toxic, and if nobody ever wanted them it's because they're trouble, and a lot of other lesbians agreed. Do you guys agree with that? I mean, everyone is allowed to like whatever they want but put everyone inside of the same box is kinda problematic in my opinion.

Hey everyone, just looking for some advice from people who might have been in a similar situation!
My girlfriend and I have an amazing connection and our relationship is genuinely so good, but we’ve been struggling with the sexual side of things. Our sex life is very hit or miss, and even the set of sex toys we have doesn’t really do much for us anymore.
I’m finding it hard to connect with her sexually, and I don’t really know how to navigate it. I never want her to feel like she’s not doing a good job or that I’m not attracted to her, because that’s not what I want her to think at all. I just struggle to get off, even when physically my body seems to be responding, if that makes sense?
In previous relationships, sex has been a really important part of the relationship for me, and I’ve genuinely loved that side of things. I know it’s something I need to feel fulfilled, and I do get sexually frustrated sometimes. The problem is that I don’t always know how to communicate that to her without coming across as moody or making her feel bad, which is the last thing I want.
We’re very open with each other, and we’ve talked about possibly introducing a man into our sex life. We’re not really sure what that would look like long term, though. We’ve only had a third once before we started dating, and at the time we both realised that we didn’t need a third. Now, though, I’m starting to feel like I miss that experience and the feeling it gave me. She has similar feelings about it too, although she would probably say that it’s mainly something I want.
I feel terrible admitting that because it makes me feel stupid, like I should be able to be happy with this perfect person in front of me right now. I love her and I don’t want her to feel as though she isn’t enough, but I also don’t want to ignore these feelings or pretend they aren’t affecting me. I’m worried that bringing another person into things could create more problems, especially if we’re already struggling sexually, but I’m also wondering whether exploring it carefully could help us reconnect.
We’ve actually started talking about breaking up over this, which is honestly heartbreaking because we have such an amazing connection outside of sex. Part of me feels like what we have is too good to lose over this, but the other part of me worries about ignoring something that I know is important to me in a relationship.
We’ve both been really hurt by the thought of breaking up, and I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else has been through something similar? Have you managed to work through it, or did it eventually become too much of an issue?
I’d really appreciate any advice or hearing about other people’s experiences because I genuinely don’t know what to do. ❤️

So I've recently got together with my gf and everything is honestly going great, but when it came to physical intimacy, there were some issues. Before me, she only dated guys (she outed herself as bi to me), so I'm her first lesbian relatiomship. Whenever we would get intimate, she seemed insecure. We talked about it, and after a lot of pushing her she admitted she was probably straight in the sexual sense, but biromantic still. She only realised this while dating me. On the other hand, she did say she enjoyed fingering me and all the other stuff leading up to it (making out, me touching other parts of her than genitals). I love her so much and I want ti make this work but I just don't know how to go about this or if its worth even continuing (in my head it definitely is just because I cant fathom to lose her but am I hurting myself here?). Any advice is appreciated.

Hi so i (18F) and my “friend”(19F) are like in this weird (but totally consensual) situationship/homoerotic friendship where we both began talking to each other with the intention to date. Its been like 4-5 months since we’ve become like “friends” and we ended up deciding to kinda break it off like 2 months ago. But ofc that lasted like a week and we began kinda flirting again. Prior to this we’d only kissed once and aside from that we hadnt done anything else cause we were apart for the summer. And now im like a bit confused because yes our “thing” has gone up a few levels with the talking and flirting (and other stuff im not gna mention here) but its been mostly through phone calls. We’ve had a discussion early in the beginning about this (after we kissed the first time) and about issues relating with intimacy (which we both share). She says its hard for her to like actually go and kiss someone even though she really wants to. And honestly im genuinely fine with it but my problem is that i want to help her be comfortable around me and not feel as though she HAS to do anything. Ive never put any expectations on the both of us whenever we meet and I explicitly tell her. I just feel as though *emotionally* she feels really bad about not being able to do anything physical with me. I always tell her its fine and it is fine but I want to make a space thats comfortable enough for her to feel as though she doesn’t have to. It’s a bit hard for me because of course i want to do things with her (not even sex like literally just kiss her) but i respect her boundaries and I’m totally fine with her not being able to or even not wanting to. Idk what to do anymore!!!!!! I want her to be comfortable enough so she doesnt have to think so hard when shes intimate with me (bcs thats the main reason why she stops herself). What do i do???? How do i do that???? #confused #plshelp

i'm really tired of my parents hating on us. you can look at these pics of some of the shows i mentioned. we watched Raising Dion the other day and they were complaining about Mr. Kwame just for existing (1st pic). he was doing a talent show at school and my parents just hated his line and seeing his outfit. just bc he's gay.
then we started watching Matlock. and they turned it off a couple times when this couple appeared (2nd pic). and then a new episode came on and they turned if off after hearing about another lesbian couple who lost a child to food poisoning (it's a lawyer show).
when we watched The Magic Prank Show they fast forwarded when this man was proposed to by his boyfriend (3rd pic). when we watched Star Trek Discovery my dad would skip scenes between Paul Stamets and Dr. Hugh and said that Adira "wasn't their child." they wouldn't let me watch the new She Ra when it first came out. they said "it's kids man" when talking about representation in a remake of Franklin. they complain that Netflix "always makes sure there's somebody gay" in their shows. and looking back, they probably made us stop watching Cartoon Network because of Steven Universe or Adventure Time, but i'm not sure.
and there's other examples i could mention but you get it. i've talked about my family's prejudice multiple times, i don't understand how they can love and hurt me simultaneously.
i don't have much time to watch shows i actually wanna see, i've been trying to catch up. what do y'all watch now, so when i'm free/can finally pay for stuff i can watch what my parents tried to keep from me? especially sapphic stuff ofc? i really enjoy IDWTBAMG and I gotta get back to Owl House

Well the title says it all but I'm gonna give you some more details and context.
For the sake of the story, I'm gonna call her Evie.
We met on our first year as students in an art school and we became friends almost immediately, and we even discovered that our hometowns were super close to eachother and that we rode the same bus to go back to our parent's houses each week and also on the way back.
At the time, I was in a 2 years relationship with my first real girlfriend, but she broke up with me one month after I met Evie.
As any respectable lesbian breakup (jk) it was quite messy and we were talking on and off for 5 months after.
She told me in one of our conversations that, when she first met Evie, she thought I would have a crush on her eventually and that she already had a crush on me.
I laughed it off, but weeks later I dreamt of Evie and I kissing, like, kissing for real.
But I kinda dismissed it as just a dream heavily influenced by my day to day life because Evie and I are ALWAYS joking about being together/in love with eachother and fake kissing eachother all the time.
We started it BECAUSE of my ex because we thought that the fact she thought Evie and I were in love was so funny.
During the summer holidays this year, we barely had any contact, which made me feel weird because we were so close all year long and she was a HUGE help for me to go through my breakup.
She even was my plus one at a friend's birthday that my ex was attending at which I got way too drunk and I started to hug her non stop, but apparently, I was also flirting with my ex at the same time??
Now that you have all the looore, I'm wondering if I have real romantic feelings for her since the beginning of this week, because, as we do, we fake kissed but thus time was different.
I was sat and she was standing up near me, I lifted up my face to her and pretended to kiss her and she leaned down pretending to kiss me too.
The only thing is, I had my eyes closed and I didn't move at all so she got way closer than usual and her hair brushed against my face.
I was pretty fluttered but we laughed and joked about it later.
I didn't expect it to, but it kinda stuck with me and now I'm not sure what I feel for her
What do you think ?
