An Orange County hair stylist is behind bars for allegedly sexually assaulting multiple victims, including juvenile boys, over a 10-year period, police said Wednesday.
Costa Mesa police began their investigation into 61-year-old Ricardo Garcia of Fullerton after receiving several reports that he inappropriately touched victims, behavior that allegedly escalated to sexual assault, the department posted on Facebook.
Garcia, who owns Hair by Ricardo at 2200 Harbor Blvd. in Costa Mesa, is suspected of using his position as a hair stylist to sexually assault his victims. Those victims, whom he had contact with as clients, were mostly male and range in ages from 13 years old to adults when the assaults occurred,” police said.
Garcia was arrested Tuesday, and investigators have released his photo, believing that there may be additional victims because of his position and regular access to the public.

Saw this big bird fly by and roost on a pole. It looked a little bigger than the hawks usually spotted in the area and had a little bald red face. Spotted near the 22 and Knott.

Meetup Any Pokémon TCG collectors in OC interested in meeting up and trading?

Hey everyone,
My two kids have recently gotten into pokemon and we’ve been enjoying family time together playing Pokemon Go.

Now, we’ve been collecting the Pokémon 30th Celebration cards and am getting close to completing a few sets. Figured I’d see if anyone around OC would be interested in meeting up, talking Pokémon, and trading to help each other fill in the cards we’re missing.
Whether you’re working on a set yourself or just have some duplicates you’d like to trade, it would be nice to connect and help each other out.
I’m in Costa Mesa and would be happy to meet somewhere public nearby. We could share pictures of what we have and what we’re looking for beforehand. The way it lights up my kids faces, I’d like that for all the kids. It just hits differently in my chest haha.
Anyone interested?

Um…As seen whizzing ON AN E-BIKE by Main St in HB by HBHS past the police communication station, with no shame.

A BABY. ON A BIKE. Balancing itself and relying on its own strength to grip the handlebars. (P.S. He was going so fast, I’m shocked I even got them in one “Live” feature frame I had to go back and look for it)

Police Activity Police chase in Orange??

Does anybody know what happened tonight around 10:30 pm? Was at Hart Park, south side 22 fwy side, when I heard multiple sirens coming from the 22 westbound. At the same time saw a chopper with its spotlight also flying westbound. Was able to see the police lights speeding down the 22, saw about 4. About 5 minutes later I saw the chopper north of the park as if it were flying above Chapman, then from the Hart Park parking lot was able to see sirens speeding northbound on Glassell.

Recommendations Needed Where to go on 10/31/206

This year, we've decided to put a table full of Halloween candy goody bags at the end of our path, then go somewhere on Halloween.

We're looking for a fun bar that would be having pub crawls, or some other fun date night activity. Bonus points if there is a scary activity.

Any ideas?

Question CoveredCA Blue Shield of CA HMO with Hoag in Irvine?

We live in Irvine with 2 kids. Our current plan is Blue Shield of CA PPO but it's getting very expensive now. We are healthy with no chronic health issue. We also rarely venture outside of the Hoag ecosystem. So switching to HMO saves us a lot of money ($1k/month to be exact). Based on my research, I have 2 areas of concern:

  1. How difficult is it to get referrals (from a Hoag Irvine PCP) to specialists?
  2. Our kids are with Costal Kids now. Can we use Hoag urgent care or Rady in Oak Creek? It seems like urgent care don't require authorization but the places I can go is limited. Do they need to be in the same medical group?

How is your experience if you are using CoveredCA BSC HMO in OC?

Recommendations Needed Long Shot - looking for a salsa dance teacher, Newport Coast area

This is a long shot, but I figured I'd try! Looking for a salsa dance teacher who taught at Newport Coast Community Center in 2011. She was a Japanese-American woman, maybe in her 30s at the time, and she was the best salsa dance teacher I've ever had. Now my partner wants to take a salsa class, and I'm wondering if this instructor is still teaching in the area. Again, I know it's a long shot, but if you know of this teacher, please let me know!

Or, if you know of any great salsa classes in the north Orange County area that would be good for a total beginner, I'd love to hear about those, too.

Question Scheduled blackouts question

Can someone please explain to me why they are just now issuing rolling blackouts for “public safety” and “fire risk” when it is just now starting to cool off? It was 100+ degrees in many parts of the state and I’m honestly surprised they kept the power on through it all. I know it is going to be dry this week but it’s dry all the time here. Why are they all of a sudden scrambling to protect the grid?

Question Free overnight parking near John Wayne Airport?

I’m taking a short trip and need somewhere to leave my car for just two nights.

I plan to drive myself as close to the airport as possible to save on Lyft costs, then park somewhere nearby where my car can safely stay overnight.

Does anyone know of a parking structure or neighborhood where I could legally leave my car for those two nights without getting towed? 🙏
