I'm so tired about mfs here larping being lonely and Then a few words later they mention "my gf/bf/friends"

Like really?? This is like a millionaire complaining to a homeless person they can't buy their favorite yacht.

And before you say that I'm invalidating other's experience and that people like the ones I'm complaining about can be lonely too, please refer to the example I posted above. Most of you would rightfully laugh at that millionaire but millionaires can feel poor too and if you laugh, you invalidate their experience. Same applies to the people who claim to be lonely. If you had a SO, then you probably have friends too or you can make new ones, which means you can try again to get another partner. Yes I know breakup sucks and you lose motivation, but keep in mind it's not over for you...and you actually have a chance..if it already happened once. If you lack friends but you already had then again you can make new ones... It's even easier and you can do it online too.

Also, have you noticed they always say I FEEL lonely...and not I AM? Me too.

Discussion You can’t gatekeep loneliness

I saw someone post on here the other day basically bashing people who say they are lonely but have a gf/bf.

When I was with my partner, he expected me to monitor myself and my interactions and report to him. He would look through my phone to read my conversations. He would go to work, then the gym, then come back and play video games until morning.
Things got a little better once he switched to games on his phone because at least I could sit by him when I ate a meal or watched a movie, and we could have sex again, but the only time we ever chatted was when he was in the shower, physically unable to hold his phone.

It’s extremely lonely and honestly confusing to love someone who doesn’t see you as a priority yet keeps you in a cage like some kind of decorative pet.
I had basically no one except my sister to talk to. I’m so grateful for her.

And before you say, “well that was just your bad relationship”, unfortunately, this isn’t as uncommon of a dynamic as you might think. Obviously most people don’t expect this going into a relationship.

It’s hard being lonely now, and sleeping in a cold bed at night is literally painful, but I’m so fucking thankful I can talk to whoever I want and have friends from all over now even if it’s just online. Even if it doesn’t last. I’m thankful I don’t have to spend my days begging for a scrap of affection or reassurance.
I would much rather have the cold bed with the warmth of someone through the phone even if it’s just a damn Reddit comment.

Love you guys.

Venting Feeling alone and isolated even when I do eventually talk to someone

A lot of the time when I do eventually manage to talk to someone (which is a rare occasion, I admit), I find myself feeling more alone and isolated than before

it just seems like most people have absolutely no conversation skills and also they don't show any interest towards me as a person at all.

This creates such an extremely awkward dynamic where it kind of seems like I'm an interviewer asking a famous celebrity some questions. You know what I mean?

Venting When you find someone only for them to die

TW: suicide

I reached out to a fellow lonely redditor last week. For the past week, we have discovered an amazing connection, and the loneliness has disappeared.

Today, I detect something up and learn she has planned and is about to go through with unaliving herself, despite the past week. She is set on this course of action, and she is in a different country so I cannot effectively help/stop her in a more meaningful way.

Finding someone who gets you, whom you vibe with, and you instantly start falling in love with, only to find that pulled away in a week?

I’m wrecked.

Discussion If you feel like you want to talk to AI, text me instead. Everyone is welcome. Let's chat!

• Upvotes

Hello dear.

For time zone reasons, I am from Switzerland, I am F22, autistic, adhd and very open minded.

So not judgemental and I love listening to people's stories and feelings fully openly without immediately jumping in for an attack, I am not like that. I support everyone and I welcome anyone, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, religion, I do not care really. As long as you don't try to have a sexual or romantic engagement with me and don't verbally attack me in a way that is VERY innapropriate, everything else is fine. Even things like getting mad a bit over stuff I can understand, or having some really weird, taboo topics to talk about, who cares? I am just a stranger on the internet.

Maybe it gets to grow into something bigger, please, welcome! You're free to text me.

Venting It makes me feel like such a worthless piece of shit that people are only texting me when they are at the absolute bottom of their lives and have literally nothing else to do and no one else to text

A person that I know has recently been admitted to the psychiatry ward. She has, for the most part, ignored my prior attempts at reconnecting with her and now that she has been admitted to the psych ward, she started to text me a lot again.

It's a pattern that runs throughout my whole life. People ignore me and act as though I don't exist essentially. Once everyone else has rejected them and they are also completely alone or they are in extremely bad circumstances, only under those conditions they interact with me.

And once they get better they immediately discard me again.

I feel like scum, essentially, as if there is just something incurably wrong with me, to be honest, at this point.

Bye 40s.

Most mornings, my beagle sits on his favorite chair after I get up to feed him. He came into bed and snuggled with me for a bit.

It's the best damn happy birthday I've had in a long time.

Back in middle and high school I used to work hard to get a girlfriend through research, trial and error, etc. and after 4 hard years of work I finally got one just for her to cheat on me. It took me half a year of hard work to come out of that depression and find a new girl just for her to leave me after 3 days because her toxic friend told her to lol. That was 3 1/2 years ago and I haven’t dated since. I figured the juice really wasn’t worth the squeeze and wasn’t willing to go through that cycle a third time, also many girls don’t even look at me or show any interests at work, college, volunteering. I work with multiple girls my age and customers my age yet none show a drop of interest it’s kinda depressing. But I realized I’m just not what women are looking for which gave me more reason to continue quitting after 3 1/2 years, I am 6 foot but I am very skinny maybe that has something to do with it idk

25F from Mumbai, India, and I've never really experienced friendship or love

I'm 25F from Mumbai, India, and I don't have any friends.

When I was in school, I had a friend, but she stopped talking to me after we completed school. I messaged her and tried to stay in touch, but she never replied.

I was bullied a few times in school. When I was in 5th standard, a girl and her brother even beat me up for fun.

I have a sister I can talk to, but she stays busy. I don't go out because I have nobody to accompany me. I don't have anyone to sit and eat with when I want to go somewhere.

I've never had a boyfriend either. My longest dating experience lasted one month and ended badly because he didn't value me. We met only once. I've never even kissed a guy in my entire life.

I don't wear makeup or dress stylishly, so I feel that most guys avoid me.

In school and college, I would sit alone on a bench, with nobody sitting beside me.

I also struggle with anxiety and am sensitive to many things, including noise, light, and emotions.

Sometimes, I wonder if there are other people who have experienced this kind of loneliness. If you're someone who has spent most of your life without friends or romantic relationships, I'd like to hear your story. How do you cope with it?

Discussion what's your favourite song?

mine changes pretty often, but right now it's 'Twilight' by Elliott Smith. it's a really beautiful song, I highly recommend listening if you've not heard it before. also, I know this isn't a music sub or anything like that.. I just really enjoy hearing about people's taste in music, and thought that some people might connect over a shared interest.

it doesn't have to be a song if you're not into music, feel free to reply with your favourite movie, show, anime, manga, whatever. ok this is getting long, hope you comment ^^

19, haven't left home or talked to anyone in 3 years. Would anyone want to play Little Nightmares 3 with me?

19, haven't left home or talked to anyone in 3 years. Would anyone want to play Little Nightmares 3 with me? (I can lend you a Steam account with the game)
Hi everyone,
I'm 19 and I dropped out of school a few years ago. Because of my situation, I've been stuck at home and haven't met or talked to anyone in person for about 3 years now. It feels really hard and lonely.
A long time ago, I started playing Little Nightmares 3 with a friend, but we never got to finish it together. I've been wanting to go back and complete it, but I don't have anyone to play with.
I know this might sound a bit weird, but finding someone to share this with and talk to would honestly mean the world to me and help me so much right now.
If you're willing to play with me, I can lend you a Steam account that has the game on it, so you don't even need to buy it.
If anyone is interested or just wants to chat, please send me a DM or leave a comment. Thank you for reading.

So,

I (M34) am a very popular guy. I have loads of friends, I have close family.

I’m always out enjoying myself.

But I always go home alone. I’m nobody’s “number one” and it tears me apart every single night.

Discussion To anyone who's feeling lonely or struggling right now, I hope you take a moment to read this.

I've been thinking lately about how many people are walking around carrying pain that nobody knows about. People who have families, friends, relationships, and responsibilities, yet still feel alone. People who smile, laugh, and tell everyone they're fine when, deep down, they're exhausted and just want a moment of peace.

And honestly, that makes me sad.

But there's something I want you to remember you are more than your pain.

You're more than the mistakes you've made, the people who have hurt you, the relationships that didn't work out, and the moments when you felt like you weren't good enough.

Making mistakes doesn't automatically make you a bad person. Feeling sad doesn't make you dramatic. Crying doesn't make you weak. And struggling with loneliness doesn't mean there's something wrong with you.

You're human. Being human means experiencing emotions, making mistakes, learning, and trying again.

I know opening up isn't always easy. Sometimes, people don't listen. Sometimes, they dismiss your feelings or make you regret being vulnerable. I understand why that can make you afraid to trust anyone with your pain.

But please don't let the people who failed to understand you convince you that nobody ever will.

You deserve to be heard. You deserve kindness. You deserve relationships where you don't have to pretend to be okay all the time.

And please remember that you are your own person. Other people may judge you, misunderstand you, or define you by your past, but they don't get to decide your entire future. You can learn from your mistakes, choose your own path, and become the person you want to be.

It won't always be easy. Life won't always go the way you hope. Some days, trying again will feel exhausting.

But you don't have to have everything figured out today. You don't have to win every battle. Sometimes, getting through a difficult day is enough. Sometimes, taking a break is what you need. And sometimes, trying again tomorrow is its own kind of courage.

I can't promise that everything will magically get better, and I won't pretend to know what you're going through.

But I hope you give yourself the opportunity to discover what life can still hold for you.

There are people you haven't met yet, moments you haven't experienced yet, and memories you haven't made yet. Your story is still being written.

Please don't mistake the pain you're experiencing today for the entirety of the life you can have tomorrow.

You deserve more than just surviving. You deserve moments of peace, genuine connection, laughter, and happiness, too.

And if nobody has told you this lately, let me tell you now you matter, your feelings matter, and you don't have to be perfect to deserve love and kindness.

Keep trying, at your own pace. Be patient with yourself. And remember to offer yourself some of the compassion you would give to someone else who was hurting.

You are more than your worst day. You are more than your past. And you are worthy of the chance to build a better future.

I hope things get a little easier for you.

Take care of yourself.

Can you prove that I’m a narcissist without directly asking?

I’ve been made aware of the possibility that a lot of my loneliness might be stemming from a hidden narcissism. So, in order for me to be able confirm the presence of and/or examine the nature of said personality trait, you guys go ahead and ask the kind of questions (my answers to which) will undoubtedly prove its existence/non-existence.

I know I will be ({hopefully} subconsciously) trying to deny the charges throughout, but I still promise to remain honest in my responses (so that objectivity doesn’t get lost), however, I am compelled to add ..what even is ‘honesty’ man?.

If your question is well crafted, it won’t matter what I answer like, it will still illicit a response that even a third-person can look at and easily conclude one way or the other (because it is just so obvious).

I want to give an example, but i cant for the life of me, come up with one. Idk…maybe ask something an opinion on which might make it apparent. huh i wonder how aware are narcissists of their narcissism, and does the awareness alone change its nature?

I will try to answer some now but i can’t promise promptness. Nonetheless, I will make sure to get back to all of them eventually.

Birthday post 🎁 Birthday alone

Hello once again!

Unfortunately I do believe I'm spending my birthday alone tomorrow again.

On one hand, I can't believe it. Making another post about spending my birthday alone again.

On the other hand, I'm not as upset as I thought I would be. Yes, I do wish I could do something with one of my two close friends, yes I wish my parents were in the country. But compared to my last post where I was in tears writing it, im okay this time.

This year I've learnt to drive, completed my masters and started a new role in a school with a higher position that means I really get to help kids who need a bit more tlc.

Im proud of what ive accomplished, im just because im turning 27 alone does not mean ill forever been alone.

I am a dedicated lurker here, and i really want to be brave enough to reach out to more people. But for whoever needs to here it, i truly believe this loneliness is not forever. Bit by bit, it will get better. I do know there is a community out there for me. I do know there is someone that will love me one day. I do believe ill start my own family one day. I just have to keep pushing myself bit by bit.

Thank you to this community for making me feel a little bit less weird and a whole lot more less alone. Each one of you are valued and deserve a whole lot more love.

Happy birthday to me and happy early and late birthday to anyone who needs to here it ❤️

Venting I’m so tired of this

I swear I try my best. I try reaching out to people, but mostly end up being ignored, which makes it even lonelier. didn’t know that was possible. So I am in a lot of these communities where you supposedly make friends in hopes to finally find that one friend who will stay and to stop being lonely. Hasn’t worked out for me at least not the way I expected. There was a certain individual who messaged me and we started talking. They felt so safe that I disclosed my disability to them. I’m not doing it here because it’s not important for the context. But anyway, I explained it to them since it’s someone I thought I would be in contact with from then on. They told me it was a dealbreaker for them and it was too big of a commitment. Looks like people are allergic to commitment nowadays. Can’t believe this happened to me again. I spilled my guts to this person told them something. I’m scared to talk about and they did this? Really?
