Venting Larping

I'm so tired about mfs here larping being lonely and Then a few words later they mention "my gf/bf/friends"

Like really?? This is like a millionaire complaining to a homeless person they can't buy their favorite yacht.

And before you say that I'm invalidating other's experience and that people like the ones I'm complaining about can be lonely too, please refer to the example I posted above. Most of you would rightfully laugh at that millionaire but millionaires can feel poor too and if you laugh, you invalidate their experience. Same applies to the people who claim to be lonely. If you had a SO, then you probably have friends too or you can make new ones, which means you can try again to get another partner. Yes I know breakup sucks and you lose motivation, but keep in mind it's not over for you...and you actually have a chance..if it already happened once. If you lack friends but you already had then again you can make new ones... It's even easier and you can do it online too.

Also, have you noticed they always say I FEEL lonely...and not I AM? Me too.

Discussion To anyone who's feeling lonely or struggling right now, I hope you take a moment to read this.

I've been thinking lately about how many people are walking around carrying pain that nobody knows about. People who have families, friends, relationships, and responsibilities, yet still feel alone. People who smile, laugh, and tell everyone they're fine when, deep down, they're exhausted and just want a moment of peace.

And honestly, that makes me sad.

But there's something I want you to remember you are more than your pain.

You're more than the mistakes you've made, the people who have hurt you, the relationships that didn't work out, and the moments when you felt like you weren't good enough.

Making mistakes doesn't automatically make you a bad person. Feeling sad doesn't make you dramatic. Crying doesn't make you weak. And struggling with loneliness doesn't mean there's something wrong with you.

You're human. Being human means experiencing emotions, making mistakes, learning, and trying again.

I know opening up isn't always easy. Sometimes, people don't listen. Sometimes, they dismiss your feelings or make you regret being vulnerable. I understand why that can make you afraid to trust anyone with your pain.

But please don't let the people who failed to understand you convince you that nobody ever will.

You deserve to be heard. You deserve kindness. You deserve relationships where you don't have to pretend to be okay all the time.

And please remember that you are your own person. Other people may judge you, misunderstand you, or define you by your past, but they don't get to decide your entire future. You can learn from your mistakes, choose your own path, and become the person you want to be.

It won't always be easy. Life won't always go the way you hope. Some days, trying again will feel exhausting.

But you don't have to have everything figured out today. You don't have to win every battle. Sometimes, getting through a difficult day is enough. Sometimes, taking a break is what you need. And sometimes, trying again tomorrow is its own kind of courage.

I can't promise that everything will magically get better, and I won't pretend to know what you're going through.

But I hope you give yourself the opportunity to discover what life can still hold for you.

There are people you haven't met yet, moments you haven't experienced yet, and memories you haven't made yet. Your story is still being written.

Please don't mistake the pain you're experiencing today for the entirety of the life you can have tomorrow.

You deserve more than just surviving. You deserve moments of peace, genuine connection, laughter, and happiness, too.

And if nobody has told you this lately, let me tell you now you matter, your feelings matter, and you don't have to be perfect to deserve love and kindness.

Keep trying, at your own pace. Be patient with yourself. And remember to offer yourself some of the compassion you would give to someone else who was hurting.

You are more than your worst day. You are more than your past. And you are worthy of the chance to build a better future.

I hope things get a little easier for you.

Take care of yourself.

Only my mom remembered my birthday. I'm grateful for her.

I turned 25 last week and no one, except for my mom, remembered. My boyfriend, everyone of my friends and family besides her forgot. I always reach out on their birthdays, get them cake, presents and show up, take my boyfriend out and he didn't even say happy birthday.

Last year on my birthday he remembered, but also didn't get me anything. For dinner he drove us to my favourite takeout and ordered our dinner (two bowls, Chinese street food). He then turned around in front of the staff and asked me "do you want me to cover the bill or ...?" as if it was that hard to pay for my birthday dinner (btw the bill was 19,80$ in total). Honestly my heart is a bit broken if I remember this. All I want is to feel seen and loved and taken care of by the people I love.

I don't wanna make it to my birthday

I'm 34 and my birthday is November 21. I haven't enjoyed life at all. I have 4 children and I'm pretty sure they alm hate me. My wife won't touch me and makes every physical encounter into an argument to avoid intimacy with me. I don't know if I'm ugly. I have no friends, my moms dying of cancer and my siblings all hate me as well. I just want to not be here anymore. I really am alone, my dogs don't even like me. I have no hope

Venting Stranger talk to me please

Hello, stranger.

I'm 36, and I feel like I'm no longer capable of doing anything. I was diagnosed with depression two years ago. At that time, I took the medication my doctor prescribed. To be honest, my doctor helped me a lot, especially by giving me someone to vent to. I had never cried that hard in my life until I talked to him.

I eventually stopped taking the medication. First, it was very expensive, and second, I didn't think it was helping me that much. That was also two years ago, when I still had my business and my day job. But now, I've lost everything. I lost my business, and I lost my job.

My wife is now the only one working for our family. I've completely lost my motivation. I even deactivated all of my social media accounts. Reddit is the only platform I still use.

I also forgot to mention that I had suicidal thoughts two years ago. I thought I had already overcome those thoughts, but today they came back. I'm so lost.

At 36, I feel old, especially here in the Philippines. At this age, people expect you to already have a house, a car, and an established career. But me? I have nothing. Absolutely nothing.

What makes everything even harder is that I have a wife and children who depend on me. They're the only reason I've stopped myself from acting on these thoughts. I keep thinking, what will happen to them if I'm gone?

I just want someone to talk to someone who's going through the same situation. I just want these thoughts to leave my mind because I know it would be unfair to the people I'd leave behind.

Please, just talk to me. I don't have the courage to tell my wife how I'm really feeling. My parents have abandoned me, and my so called friends were only around when I had money.

That's why I need a stranger right now.

Thank you, Redditors.

Venting Not being left alone is a matter of luck.

Having friends in real life is a matter of luck. Have someone you can ask/tell anything is a matter of luck. Having people accompany you to go to hospitals/banks/other cities is a matter of luck. At last I've realized that I'm the most unlucky person because I've to do everything alone, everyone have their group of friends to accompany them. I'm just leftout everywhere (not even a choice).

Recently, a person I considered my friend showed me that she never considered me her friend, I was just useful to her when she needed help regarding studies, otherwise her real friends are people she hangs out with (forgets me completely when she's around her).

I guess I'll just have to di3 alone lol.

Discussion what's your favourite song?

• Upvotes

mine changes pretty often, but right now it's 'Twilight' by Elliott Smith. it's a really beautiful song, I highly recommend listening if you've not heard it before. also, I know this isn't a music sub or anything like that.. I just really enjoy hearing about people's taste in music, and thought that some people might connect over a shared interest.

it doesn't have to be a song if you're not into music, feel free to reply with your favourite movie, show, anime, manga, whatever. ok this is getting long, hope you comment ^^

I’m done

I work way too much and don’t seem to have anything in common with anyone. My old friends have seemed to stagnated themselves. I don’t really have anything in common with most people. I’m 28 and am too old to fit in with Gen Z even though I am one. coupled with the fact that my parents are on the older side ie 1960/1959. Makes it hard to fit in I’m a weird in between year. My sister gets annoyed by me and I have nobody to talk to except my therapist.
Fucking tired of not fitting in I’m fucking done I’m tired. My bad social skills and inability to fit in have made making new friends or even a girlfriend impossible FML dude with no free time but hey at least I’m making money 🤷🏽‍♂️ also I miss my dead dog

Venting Being a friendless girl is the worst

It seems im the only 18 year old girl without real friends?
I dont understand what is wrong with me and why does everyone leave me out of plans? What are the odds that on EVERY friendgroup i ever had im never anyones 1 choice and they always exclude me? Im extroverted, I talk but not to much to annoy anyone, i am conventionally “atractive” enough for people not be ashamed of me. I have no weird interests and the few i have i never talk about them. And i always try to be myself. I just found out that in a 10 people group 8 are going together on vacation when i said MULTIPLE times that i was willing to pay and go and the other girl i send a message to hang out sometime (i couldnt even get to that part i just said “hey girl”) . Advice please or is it over? thank you all

Ps: I won’t answer dms so dont bother

Venting I feel unloved and neglected. Never had teenage relationships before.

(18F) I don't feel great recently because i saw a lot of comics about women and teenage girls feeling loved by their boyfriends and it made me realise that I'm never loved. Last night I cried about it (I had to brush my teeth in the dark because I hate seeing my crying face), cried about the fact that I'm the only one who feels that nobody loves me. I've never been in a relationship or dated in my teenage years while everyone else has someone who loves them, which made me neglected. I've had a few crushes but they all rejected and/or ignored me, which is how I never had teenage relationships. I've never received Valentine's gifts or flowers in my life. I've seen some of my classmates getting roses and stuff from their partners while I don't. Instead, all I get in my life is a loveless life where I'm unloved and neglected and I just missed out on teenage relationships just because I'm unattractive. I just feel depressed and I feel like a failure for being someone that no one loves, especially in secondary school. I'm in college now and I'm still unloved, worthless and lonely. Sorry if my wording's not that great because being depressed might have affected my wording.

Edit: the only partner I have is a fictional girlfriend but sometimes that's not enough because since she's not real, she can't be here to love me. </3

It’s my birthday today, I’m just fed up

It’s my birthday today, and just like that, another year has gone by. I turn 23 today, and nothing has changed whatsoever from the last 5 years or so ever since I’ve left school. Other than my family, I have no one. I’ve never had a real friend, been in a relationship, or anything. I’ve been lonely for so long that I almost enjoy it, but it still hurts so much.

I’m scared life is just going to pass me by. Decades will pass and I'll still be doing the usual: going to work, then staying in my room playing some video games, draw, or build Lego sets. I don’t feel like anything is wrong with me. I see myself as a really caring and kind person; I love to make people happy and smile, thats what I want too. I’ve grew up with many difficulties so I can feel it deeply when others have problems.

I’m just getting really sad that am wasting my life not doing anything. I don’t have any memories from past like maybe 5-6 years, I don’t even remember what I did last birthday. Im kind of just craving for any sort of connection at this point. I do go out alone sometimes but I don’t enjoy it because I just want someone to be with me 😓

Venting Worried I might end up becoming a hermit (19F)

• Upvotes

I've never posted here before, never would have expected myself to either. I often mask my true feelings irl cus it feels awkward to show others how I'm really feeling rn.

While I definitely have made many friends at my college and have got along very well with them, we have all been in different classes so never got to see each other as much as we'd have liked. They're absolutely amazing people and I adore them all for it, but the thing is, they're all much closer to each other and know each other better than me, some have already finished their course and now left, we've never met each other outside of college, the same will probably happen with the remaining friends I have at college. I only ever see them at lunchtimes and occasionally in the morning before classes start.

Other than these occasional to sometimes hang outs, I have pretty much no one to talk to and have no friends in my current class (idc about that tho). I spend practically all my time alone, having lunch alone, staying stuck at home all the time, my only local friend never makes any arrangements. Like, I know this probably sounds pathetic and a stupid emotional rant, but I feel like my whole world is slowly collapsing, I am becoming more lonely than ever before, am always anxious about whether I'm annoying people or not, which includes my online friends!

Like, this is a complex question and it's okay if any of you don't know how to answer such a topic like mine, but... what is gonna become of me when I hit adulthood and go out into the real world where I'd just be working nearly 24/7 as a fucking slave to capitalism?!

Venting I just want friends man

• Upvotes

I'm currently in high school, and I feel like I have no actual friends. Sometimes, I just sit there wishing I could go home and have someone to talk to. However, the idea of approaching someone new and starting a conversation feels so scary.

I always imagined myself having a few good friends in high school, but I don't have any. Sometimes, I just sit and cry alone because of how pathetic I feel...

being around people makes me feel even lonelier

I feel so lonely, and I honestly don’t know how to get out of it. The more I try to be around people, the more alone I feel because everyone seems to naturally click with each other and form their own little groups, while I’m just sitting there, unable to connect with anyone.

So all that advice about “putting yourself out there” or “doing things you enjoy” doesn’t really work for me. If anything, it just reinforces the feeling that I’m „different“ from everyone else.

And it’s not reaaaally about social skills or anything - maybe partly - but it’s more that I don’t feel anything when talking to people. I try to keep up with conversations, but most of the time, what people talk about just doesn’t move me or genuinely interest me. It’s exhausting to constantly try to come up with something to say, to keep the conversation going. It doesn’t feel right, and above all, it doesn’t feel genuine.

But this loneliness is killing me. I want nothing more than to feel a genuine connection and to be part of something. To finally feel like I belong somewhere, instead of constantly feeling like I’m on the outside looking in …

Venting I am never going to find love and I just have to deal with that

I am never going I be anyone’s first choice, who they think about first in the morning or last before they go to bed.
I am meant to suffer the fate of loving wholly and unconditionally but never to feel the same warmth
I do not understand why I am not wanted sometimes and it frustrates me because I try so hard but I can’t help but think about how I have nothing to offer and how I really must be worthless.
What is there to love? What is there to daydream about?
I am so pathetic.
I am useless.
I am nothing.
Why would Somone want to hold me like I want to hold them?
What comfort or solace could I ever provide Somone for more than just a brief moment.
I am only as much as I can give Somone.
Im not looking anymore, All the people I hold so dear leave me, it hurts to get close
But it hurts to stay alone.
