Opinion What could Sirianni be doing behind the scenes that would be more valuable than him being able to run an offense directly?

• Upvotes

I've been trying to defend Sirianni, saying that we as fans can't see how much of an impact he has on player development, culture setting, fundamentals, etc. But I think back to Andy, did anyone ever care who our OC was during his tenure? Not really.

Eagles biggest issue has far and away been the offensive play calling under him. It's further concerning that after these years he hasn't been able to development himself into a quality play-caller. Where's his development as a coach?

Opinion Would Sean Mannion being on the sideline help at all?

I know a lot of coordinators do it nowadays, but I have never been the biggest fan of a coordinator in the press box and not on field. I know Vic has done it his whole time here, and others do it and have success, but with this struggle on the offense I personally feel if mannion is in the sideline able to physically talk to guys perhaps there could be some improvement. Maybe I’m just stuck in small things I don’t like, but at this point they have to try anything to get the offense clicking a little smoother with the number of injuries.

I never got to see McNabb play but if I did I think he'd be one of my favorite players of all time. Jalen Hurts is my favorite player and I think will eventually be the greatest Eagles player of all time, however it is nice to look back every once and a while.

Expect the Hurts to Cooper connection to only keep growing going forward. Hurts keeps shouting out Cooper to the media going back to training camp. It’s pretty clear now that Cooper has earned Hurts’ trust.

Question If the eagles keep losing games and winning close games, what is the first week Nick Sirianni could be fired?

The Eagles have heavily underperformed so far this season, and Nick Sirianni is at the center of it, making questionable decisions and struggling to get this team playing consistently. If the losses keep coming or we keep barely winning games, what’s the earliest realistic week he could be fired? Personally, I think Week 6 or 7 could be when the conversation gets serious but only if things get much worse. Do you think Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman would actually pull the trigger midseason or wait until the offseason?

Admittedly that was a complete hospital ball that Randall threw though.

Question If Vic retires, would you be happy if Bowles replaced him?

I'm honestly not sure who else is out there. But the more we struggle this year the more likely I think Vic is to say fuck it. I mean, maybe that's going to happen anyway. I think I'd be ok with Bowles.

Even amid some concerning injuries, Vic Fangio's group has begun coming into its own over the past two weeks.

Hurts’ numbers over the past 17 regular season games. For comparison sake, Josh Allen at his apex has a 67.94% pass completion rate, 3,700 passing yards, 23 passing TD’s, 12 INT’s, 606 rushing yards, and 19 rushing TD’s (lots of Tush Push TD’s) during that same 17 game span.

Opinion I know about hindsight being 20/20 and all but….

I totally trust Howie and I always will but nobody is perfect. Two decisions I never understood, one was from 2024/2025 off-season and the other was from 2025/2026 offseason. 24-25 was not resigning Isaiah Rodgers, we were patient and waited for him to get healthy and once he did he totally balled out for us. So why once he showed that he was worth the wait and playing at a high level did we let him walk and sign with the Vikings? He didn’t get some huge contract we could have afforded him for sure. The one from 25-26 was letting nakobe dean walk and sign with the raiders. I get that he missed some time with us each year but instead we paid grenard almost double what nakobe got and grenard had a history of getting injured as well. It kills me to watch nakobe look so dominant for the raiders when I used to watch him do the same for us and grenard can’t seem to get on/stay on the field. Like I said though I definitely love Howie and there is no GM I’d rather have but nobody batts 1.000 and I’ve just never been able understand that when you already have the obvious talent on your team that everybody else in the league is looking for you would just let them walk out the door for nothing. Neither one were high priced free agents either.

Opinion This gets lost in the narrative… we can’t keep moving the goalpost on stats

Post image
392 Upvotes

If somebody said “ I need you to bake me a cake “ and i did it outside on a grill. And they tasted the cake and it they loved it.
Then they say “ what temp you cook this on“

and I said “ idk it was on the grill”

And then they “oh well that’s now how your supposed to bake cakes and side eyed my cake “

That is ridiculous… I understand our record is what it is but the world can’t ask Jalen to be better passer and his stats show that for the metric we love, Touchdowns, he is better then some of the top, and get mad at how he does it.

The main media pisses me off about this and I’m tired of the goalpost moving for our QB

Shout out to Covey. He has the 2nd most punt return yards this season, the 3rd highest return average, and the 16th highest return average in NFL history. What makes his average even more special is he’s incredibly courageous fielding punts instead of fair catching. Which brings down his average.

Question Going to my first game

I’m coming from out of state (Virginia) and want to go to the Eagles vs. Panthers game this Sunday. Was wondering if you guys have any advice on some logistics. Will be doing this as a same day trip there and back.

Looking to drive up to the City Hall area and metro in for the game? Not sure if there are other closer parking areas to the stadium, without being caught in any major traffic. I’m fine with taking the metro or ubering (not sure if Uber would make sense). I want to have a great first experience with my girlfriend, not sure when the next time I’ll be coming to Philly for a game.

Do you guys have any advice on logistics for parking and how easy it is to Metro? Maybe what time I should be at the stadium?

Also food wise, was thinking of the Reading Terminal Market and getting a nice steak n cheese since I heard they have good food there. Any thoughts/advice?

Question What the Hell Are We Saving This Season For?

I swear, some of y’all are so damn obsessed with trying to save this season that I genuinely have to wonder what the fuck you think we’re saving it for.
Every other post is somebody crying about what changes we need to make, who needs to be benched, who Howie needs to trade for, what coaches need to go, blah blah blah. For what? Seriously, what the fuck are we trying to accomplish here?

I hate to break it to some of you dickheads, but we ain’t winning the Super Bowl this year. Shit, we’re not even winning the NFC. And sometimes realizing your season is cooked early is a blessing in disguise, if you actually have the sense to take advantage of it.

Instead of scrambling to put Band-Aids on a team that isn’t going anywhere, why not use the rest of the season to figure out what the hell we actually have on this roster? Get the young guys some meaningful snaps. See what these rotational players can do when they’re actually given opportunities. Find out who’s legitimate depth and who’s just collecting a paycheck. Figure out which positions need a little help and which ones need to be gutted entirely.

I’d much rather Howie go into the offseason knowing exactly where this team is weak than spend the next few months pretending we’re one trade or one coaching adjustment away from making a run.

And here’s where I know some of y’all are gonna start foaming at the mouth. I’d be perfectly fine with a four- or five-win season at this point.

Yeah, I said it.

Give Howie a premium draft pick, let him work his magic, and let’s come back next year with some actual difference-makers instead of winning a handful of meaningless games just so half this fanbase can pretend we accomplished something.

And please, for the love of God, spare me the “but we gotta win the division” bullshit.

Why? So we can hang an NFC East participation trophy? So we can talk shit to Cowboys fans for three months before getting our asses sent home in the Wild Card round? Congratulations, we were the tallest midget in the circus. Somebody call Broad Street and schedule the parade.

Don’t get me wrong, fuck Dallas. Always and forever. Watching those miserable bastards lose is practically a religious experience. But some of y’all are so obsessed with being better than the Cowboys that you’ve apparently forgotten the goal is to be better than everybody.

I don’t give a damn about being king of a shitty division if it means we’re still nowhere near another Lombardi.

And before somebody comes in here with that tired-ass “real fans never give up on the season” speech, save it. I’ve been bleeding green long enough to know the difference between supporting your team and being delusional about where your team stands. Wanting to evaluate talent and improve our draft position isn’t rooting against the Eagles. It’s wanting the Eagles to actually build something worth a damn.
I’m not saying tell the players to go out there and lose. I’m saying stop treating every meaningless win like it’s some kind of moral victory when it could cost us an opportunity to get significantly better.

So somebody explain it to me. What the hell is the obsession with dragging a mediocre team into the playoffs just to get embarrassed on national television? Is an NFC East title really worth more to you than putting ourselves in position to make another legitimate championship run?

Because if your entire argument is “at least we finished ahead of Dallas,” then congratulations, you’ve officially made Cowboys fans the measuring stick for our success. And that’s some pathetic shit.

Go Birds. Fuck Dallas. And some of y’all need to stop thinking with your feelings and start thinking about the future of this damn franchise.

As always, Go Birds, dickheads! 🦅

Analysis Can we actually play good next week?

Can we please actually play good next week? Can we score points in the 2nd half? I know we can do it, we should’ve won the jaguars and rams game, theoretically, we’re undefeated, so let’s play like we’re undefeated next week.Lets complete passes on 3rd down this time, let’s not overthrow wide open receivers this time, let’s make smart game management decisions next time, let’s stop snapping the clock at 1 second
