I figured this will cause a ton of confusion. I'm a surgeon and just wanted to clear some things up. SUPERFICIAL blood clots are different than DEEP vein clots or DEEP vein thrombosis (DVTs).
It's been reported that Jalen Hurts has a SUPERFICIAL blood clot. These are different than other blood clots. We have SUPERFICIAL veins and a DEEP vein system in our legs. We worry about DEEP vein clots in the leg because they are dangerous. They can spread to the lungs easier, which can be fatal. These DEEP clots usually require blood thinners which can make ppl bleed. Chris Bosh had to retire due to DVTs. In a contact sport, blood thinners can be a problem.
Jalen Hurts reportedly has a SUPERFICIAL blood clot. Those are treated differently. Usually, rest, elevation and NSAIDs. Ie Ibuprofen. They have a much smaller chance to spread to the lungs. I read that Hurts' clot 'moved' and he won't play. That makes sense. The chance of spread is much smaller but not 0%.
I don't work with athletes, I just will take out your appendix. But when I found out he had a Superficial blood clot, I felt a ton of relief.
I wanted to clarify for some reasonable fans.
In summary, fuck Dallas. Go Birds!
And this season is cursed.

They don’t usually fuck around with blood clots. Chris Bosh was playing at a high level with the Heat and it pretty much ended his career. More recently Wemby was shut down for the 24-25 season when the doctors found out he had blood clots and ended up having to take blood thinners. With all of the injuries piling up it feels like it might be a lost season.

Are there any medical folks in the sub who can comment on this? Because I’d really like to know how our QB1 was medically cleared to actually play a game of football in the first place with a blood clot.

Yeah, injuries suck. This season has sucked. But that’s football. Remember after our first superbowl, we had terrible luck with injuries for 3 straight seasons, and that was during a time we had some bad drafts and didn’t have the depth to cover those injuries.
We have to be thankful that our luck turned around. Outside some key injuries here and there, the eagles have had IMMACULATE injury luck between 2021-2025. In our 2022 and 2024 super bowls, I think we had 21/22 starters (don’t quote me on that).
So yeah, this year sucks. But we’ve bounced back before and we’ll bounce back again. Let’s see what our young guys can do this year, and who knows, maybe this team rallies in a terrible nfc east and still stays competitive.
Go birds.

Finally got the eagles room filled. A lot of jerseys and signed stuff. Just bought the Devonta smith signed helmet and finished the chair. I know the team ain’t playing good but I bleed green.

It’s interesting because he’s been one of the best open field tackling DBs. Probably a combination of the added weight and being on the field more.

Hopefully the Jalenites don't come after Kurt Warner with their pitchforks next or label him as someone that "doesn't know ball" for pointing out these missed opportunities.

Tanner McKee aka The Mormon Missile aka Joe Flacco 2.0 starts at QB Sunday
Curious to see how he looks in Mannions system. He has good pocket presence and usually stands pretty tall in the pocket as opposed to bailing early. He gets through progressions pretty well. Lemon could be in for a huge day.
Now will the pocket hold up with our rag-tag OL with a bunch of 2nd-4th stringers that have been forced into action
My only wish is that Tom Brady was calling the game so we could get a "what a piss missile from the mormon missile" call...one can dream
Go Birds!

The Eagles wanted to re-sign Jaelan Phillips, but his $120 million deal with Carolina was beyond their price range. They pivoted to Jonathan Greenard, trading two third-round picks for him, but injuries have delayed his impact in Philadelphia. How will the move work out?
