Should I give a bad review? I feel bad, but I’m annoyed
So I just received my food, but the problem is that the DoorDasher dropped the food off on the first floor lobby rather than just going to my apartment door. I tip Drivers in advance and sometimes more afterwards, especially when I know it was a tedious order. I always make sure that my instructions are super clear so that it’s not confusing and they don’t waste their time.
I tried to call him and message and nothing, just to see that he then decided to leave it in the lobby. I guess I just don’t understand why there was no effort made when there’s an elevator right next to where this was left. But would it be petty of me to leave a bad review? (All floors look the same as this photo so I had to figure out where this even was)

My friend’s dog bit my dasher
Ordered from my friend’s house. I didn’t know the dasher was still at the door. I should have pushed the dog back away from the door more. My friend ran out and got her dog back but not before she nipped the dasher’s arm.
We both profusely apologized and asked if she was okay. She said “I think so” but I think she was just scared and trying to get away after that. It was a bite on her arm. She was wearing a hoodie and it didn’t look like it pierced it, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t get hurt. I tipped ten more dollars but even now I think I should have tipped more in case she needs medical treatment. I feel so bad because I really should have taken safety steps.
The dog is a husky mix, a rescue, currently in classes and has all her vaccines.
Dashers, what would you want as extra support in this situation?
Edit: I sent her another message and told Doordash what happened in the emergency section. Added the max tip Doordash support would allow.
I know this was 100% on me, not the dasher or dog’s fault. I hope my negligence in the situation doesn’t end up in the dog being put down. And I really hope to hear back from DoorDash soon to see if the dasher is okay. I’m prepared to pay anything because this is very serious. Seriously, thank you for the helpful advice.

hate symbol displayed during dash
hi everyone, not sure if this is allowed. i was out dashing last night when i saw this drawn right where the customer requested i leave the order. i am black and live in a very jewish and christian area, and this really bothered me and made me feel unsafe. given its drawn in chalk, it might have been drawn by a kid, but this kind of hate is taught, encouraged, and i am tired of having to add names and families to my prayer list. was it almost me? all doordash did was block me from the address when i reported it, and there hasn’t been any follow up. i understand it is private property, but they specifically asked someone to deliver here and i’ve been to this house before. while i can’t be sure it was targeted, someone was peering at me through the window. i live in the inner city, and a lot of my fellow dashers are minorities. this isn’t okay.
on another note, men keeping asking me for my number and being really creepy and i keep getting the same customers even for food orders, what do you guys do to truly keep safe? for instance, i keep having to deliver to a hotel that is locally known as a landing spot for local sex offenders with no permanent address. i feel like support is nearly unreachable and if it doesn’t warrant a police report, they basically don’t care? i have felt unsafe many times and more than once, i left to protect myself long before support ever responded.

Customer service is a joke
On Friday I had a driver steal my food and had to battle it out with the chat for over an hour in order to get a refund and replacement order at the same cost - new order with the same exact food cost me $8 more…
Today, some idiot driver gave me a completely different order than what I ordered. Customer service chat again refused to help me out, even management said they wouldn’t help me because of my order issue history, which was only Fridays order… New replacement cost me $10 more, I event sent these idiots screenshots of everything.
About to file a chargeback on my credit card and cancel dash pass. Time to go to Grubhub or something else.

Is it possible to not get drink deliveries?
I ride a motorcycle and dash in my free time. I really enjoy it but I have trouble carrying drinks. I don't care about delivering alcohol but fountain drinks cause me a lot of problems. I'm registered as having a motorcycle but I had an order the other day and it was just drinks and they spilled and made a huge mess and really turned me off to it. I'm just curious if anyone else is riding a motorcycle and if they have similar problems? Any advice? Or how to refuse them automatically so I don't have any more sticky messes ruining people's food while I'm trying to deliver?

Is it unfair to rate someone 1 star if they deliver my food to my neighbor?

DoorDash is actually a great deal if done strategically.
People talk about how expensive and discretionary DoorDash is and I generally agree in principle. But if you’re willing to shop around during happy hours or go deal hunting it can be an exceptional deal. I sign up with my credit card which has a deal with DoorDash to remove the service fee. So essentially all I’m paying for is the DoorDash up charge, and the tip.
Some places don’t even upcharge, and if they do it’s not a lot. From my experience, it’s the large chains that DoorDash upcharges the most. The small shops sometimes haven’t received the mass appeal needed for DD to go in and start ripping people off. It’s not uncommon to find 25% off deal which cancels out the cost of the tip and upcharge and still lets you come out a few dollars ahead.
Extra bonus savings if you use the deals and then go pickup yourself, after using the DD app for pick up.

Payday!!!!
Don't forget for the drivers in the group that payday hits anywhere from today thru Saturday! I mean majority of America's paydays so they will be more prone to ordering thru the app! Make sure your safe out there, check any orders you can, take plenty of photos to cover your own selves in the event of someone complaining and then let's be respectful of other driver's, for example if u see a driver struggling to hold an order and open the door then help they kindness goes a long way, and then like last night for example I had been at s restaurant for 20 mins I was told the order would've been ready sooner rhent ha but it was my last order of rhe night and literally took me back home so I chose to wait but another dasher came in and I knew her order wasn't even close to being ready so I kindly let her know we had already waited 20 mins ans they were behind which allowed her to unassign and keep it moving. And I was right her order still wasnt one of the few ready when mine was so she would've waited forever. While yes we're all out here to make money it doesnt hurt to help each other along the way if we can!

That’s a nope for me!
I’m not even posting this for the little pay like some would normally. You could offer me $100,000 and I still wouldn’t go to this Popeyes. They always said don’t get high on your supply. Well, I’m pretty sure the entire restaurant staff is high on the supply and this is a Heisenberg level operation. We’d be dead of natural causes before we could collect on that hundred thousand dollars at the rate that they turn out food. 😆😆😆

Two different prices for two dash pass accounts?
Really don’t know how they’re allowed to get away with this. Both accounts have dash pass. Ones free through Amazon and the other is free through my credit card

Anyone ever get a contract violation for canceling an order?

DD Ratings
From reading other dashers posts and comments I’ve always thought ratings didn’t make a big difference until I reached the highest tier! The orders I receive now is WAY BETTER than before!

Done with DoorDash
For the record, I have had a DashPass subscription for 4 years with no issues with DoorDash support until recently.
The restaurants around here aren't perfect. More often than not, they forget something in our family's order. The past 2 times that I used the automated "Help" for something that the restaurant forgot, I was denied a refund.
I admit I became the male equivalent to a Karen and escalated the issue and kept getting the same answer. "Our policy has determined that your issue doesn't qualify for a refund at this time."
I kept escalating and was emailed a copy of the policy. I couldn't find a reason for the refusal. I kept escalating and was finally told that my account had been issued too many credits recently and that was the reason.
So, I'm being punished for the restaurant's mistake?
Fuck that. DoorDash will never see another penny from me.

I’m done, I can’t stand this app
I ordered a meal that came with a drink, the delivery photo showed that the drink wasn’t there. I even waited for the driver to come back and he never did…
Just got an email saying my “refund request was denied”, I honestly don’t know what to say. The fucking app wouldn’t even let me talk to a support agent, it just locked me to this “we’re reviewing your request” screen. The Dasher either stole my drink, left it in his car or one of the other. I canceled my dashpass, I’m not dealing with this shit anymore.

20 Minutes
I made an order online. Said it was going to take 26 - 38 minutes to arrive. All good. I deliberately chose not to order at another place, b/c it indicated that the order would take 55 - over an hour.
Twenty minutes go by of DD offering double-dashing. I don't want to send my driver across the river into town to pick up food that doesn't make sense to order from so far away. No thanks. No opt out option. This double-dash thing sits there for 20 minutes! Then, my order gets ack'ed and a driver is being found. And only AFTER that will the clock start on my 26 - 38 minute delivery time.
Had I known, I would've made a different choice. That's all I'm saying, DoorDash.
Now, if I'm lucky, I'll get my order 50 - over an hour. Fix your algorithms, please.

Interesting AI usage
I ordered some tacos and received this from the dasher 🫥. It honestly caught me off guard and didn’t even know how to respond.

Help!!!! What can I do?!
Long read, but please help! I had been Dashing for 2 months with high reviews and pretty high acceptance rate. I got sick and did t Dash for 2 weeks. When I tried to log back in I found out Door Dash had DELETED my account! I have been trying, for going on 2 months to get this straightened out with no success. I have called on and talked to no less than 20 people trying to get this corrected. I was told to get a new email and make a new account (twice). I’ve done this but the first one was denied because I already had an account (duh!) and they second one didn’t get past the id section because of the other two accounts. I have done what I was told to do and now I am stuck! I have tried to get an account review explaining my situation and NOTHING! Please, can someone help me?! This is my only job and I cannot perform it because of their mistakes!

The absolute worst customer service.
Tried to change email address on my account, simple change. Unable to do online. Once I finally was able to find a link for chat.... Chat got me AI bots that claimed to be live agents and unable to help. Got a call after I finally disconnected the chat. No sympathy or understanding. 30 minutes for what should be a 2 minute transaction and no resolution Deleted the app. Never again.
