Apparently only getting buns when you ordered chicken sandwiches isn't a reason enough for a credit or a refund 😂

Zones are constantly full in my area, even when I check them on the dot as soon as the next day is available around midnight

• Upvotes

I have no idea if this is a bug or what it is, if my area doesnt actually have much options for bicycle delivery (despite claiming otherwise during setup), or if people really are just that quick at scheduling the newest day; but I find that hard to believe, because i live in a place with only 15000 people, and theres no way that many people are trying to schedule at once that not even for a split second, I could see a spot open up. Im not even kidding, not once in my life have i seen a spot open up for doordash, even when I watch the next day like a fucking hawk. Not even a "oh I saw this option for a sec but I couldn't get it cuz somebody else already set it up quicker than I could," NOPE. I literally see zero spots 24/7. So im convinced its either a bug, or doordash made an error regarding bicycle being a thing in this area. Idfk

Fantastic Soup Delivery

I just wanted some good soup while in the hospital 😬
I can’t even get my money back. Seems DoorDash finds containers broken in the bottom completely acceptable and I should be okay drinking the contents from a plastic bag. The support team cannot provide a reason why it’s being rejected. Stuck holding this bag

Where is my discount

I am a platinum dasher and I am supposed to have a 30% off my order every 2 weeks when I order through the DoorDash app and it’s supposed to apply at check out, but I can’t find it! Some restaurants don’t allow it but I’ve tried several different places! Can anyone help me? I’ve already contacted dasher support and consumer support

I accidentally mixed up the two customers orders today

I feel so bad and I’m honestly really scared about what’s gonna happen. Maybe I’m just overthinking it but I’ve been dashing for about four months now and I haven’t had any issues until today. I misread what and who I was delivering to in the Customer messaged me saying that they got the wrong order. I want to cry about it because they seem so confused and even though it was a mistake. I’m also a little scared as well because I am platinum and I don’t want to lose it over this mistake. Platinum genuinely brings me good money and me and my husband have a few things to pay for this has been helping us a lot I am at a loss, of words

Petsmart points used but I was still charged the full amount

It’s lazy but I often order my dogs food through DoorDash. I linked my petsmart account to start accruing points but there’s no where in the DoorDash app to use those points so they just build up and I figure I’ll use them in person at some point. I recently ordered my dogs food and was charged the usual $79 and some change for two large packs (she’s spoiled I know). I look at the recipes and $48 of my points had been used at check out. The final charge came to around $25 but I was still charged $75.72 after an adjustment to my receipt. My points were used from my personal petsmart account without my knowledge but I was still charged the full amount. Has this happened to anyone before?

DoorDash pay is only good during peak times in good locations.

DoorDash seriously needs to take a look at how they are paying their drivers... Especially with these insane gas prices. I left my office at 5:00 pm and decided to make a little extra money, so I turned on the app. My first order was $2.10, so I declined. My acceptance rate goes down. My next one was for $4 and change, and it was for almost 30 minutes with a 9 mile drive. I declined again. The next one was for $4 in change for 15 minutes and a shorter drive. I took that one, and it wasn't too bad. Then came another one for $4 and change for a long drive and 30 minutes again! What is wrong with these people? How are we supposed to make money like this?

DoorDash, you need to pay your drivers. This should be a damn crime what you're doing. We shouldn't see anything under $5 in our app ever, and the distance and time should match the pay or better. Do better! If you need to take a financial hit to pay the drivers better, then do it!

Also, DoorDash doesn't constantly remind the customer to tip like Uber Eats. Tips, especially good ones, are extremely rare on DoorDash.

Can't delete account because of my $0 worth of earnings

Im trying to delete my dasher account and it says "we cannot delete your account while you have earnings, You have a balance of $0 in earnings in your account" I've contacted customer support but all they said they can do is deactivate the account. Is this a common glitch, or is something else wrong?

Are You Reading Instructions?

Curious about this as someone who has never delivered for DoorDash- are you all reading instructions for deliveries? Are they something that pop up and are obvious on your app or do you have to go look for them?

I ask because my current apartment is on the back side of a house in a residential neighborhood. It is not difficult to get to- it has its own driveway going to the back- and I put very clear, conscise instructions in that section.

Yet I have not once had a dasher pull back and give me my food without my having to message them telling them to come to the back.

DoorDash driver stole daughters phone from restaurant

Looking for advice, my daughter works as a waitress at a local restaurant. A DoorDash driver arrived to pick up an order, while my daughter and another employee got the delivery order ready, the driver is seen on surveillance picking up my daughter’s phone and pocketing it. A police report was made, door dash was notified, apparently police have to fill out a form in order for door dash to release the drivers information to police, meanwhile my daughter has been without a phone for 5 days and nothing seems to be happening from the police, or with doordash. DoorDash has been given the footage and police report, but no one seems to be trying to remedy the situation. My daughter is a broke college student, out on her own for the first time (she’s 20) and just trying to survive and find her way in life. Has anyone had any experience with DoorDash taking responsibility for their employees actions? Will they help replace her phone or is she out of luck unless police miraculously recover the phone?
Thank you for reading and any advice.

There are two subways in town both of which do doordash and everytime I go to this subway it’s extremely slow while the other one thats less than .5 miles away has the order ready to go most of the time. I get thats a bit unprofessional but I hate going to this subway.

Is there an explanation for this phenominon?

I used to tip drivers all the time, but I kept getting bad service. They often arrived cold, gave me the wrong order, took a long time, etc, so I stopped tipping. When I stopped tipping, I suddenly got better service. My food arrived as hot as it would have been if I picked it up myself and it arrived a lot faster. The other day, I was in a good mood and decided to leave a substantial tip. My food was late and it was the wrong order. I reordered without tipping and it was the correct order without being late. What could be the reason for this?

This is side hustle for me, but I really enjoy it.

Does anyone else simply enjoy dashing? It’s better than sitting at home staring at a television. I love the independence of it, work whenever you want, and I just genuinely enjoy the work. I wish it would be lucrative full time without killing your car. I would consider a change of career.

On the other hand if it did it for 10 hours a day I’d probably learn to hate it.

Fake BOGO deals on DoorDash's end?

This is the second time that Doordash has offered me a BOGO deal, I click "add to order, and it puts in 2 orders at full price. What's up with that? That should be illegal. That is literally scamming people into spending more money on something they were told was BOGO.

Apartment dwellers- Sorry you all have to share a front door but your upstairs apartment door is not a 'front door'.

Drivers only get paid to deliver to the address. They dont get paid to walk around for an extra 10 minutes trying to find your far away apartment. If they gave an extra one or two dollars to recognize the extra work then it would be validating but they're usually exploitative and don't tip. I live in a hotel and I take the elevator down to the lobby every time I've ever gotten a delivery. It's common sense to leave deliveries in the delivery area where the mail gets dropped off if the government agents get protected by law over it then clearly it's a big enough deal to be regulated in some places so if people think that their mail shouldn't be brought up to their door than their groceries and their dinner shouldn't either. Drivers shouldnt be subjected to the drudge of the customers personal space inside their building because theyre not paid to do that

Drunk woman yelled at me and tipped extra

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

The order said to hand directly to customer. When I approached the door, her dog started barking, to which she starts yelling "Get the fuck out of here!! Go, now!!"" I yell back "I'm fine with that!" and walked back to my car with the order. She opened the door, steped out, and apologized profusely for yelling at me. She explained she forgot she ordered door dash, and that her abusive ex was stalking her and kept showing up to her door. She was also clearly very, and I mean very drunk. I confirmed the name and pin to ensure it was the correct person, and handed her the order. She couldn't stop apologizing, I kept reassuring her that it spooked me for a split second but that everything was okay. After I leave she messages me about leaving an additional tip, and said it it didn't work she'd have a tip on her front porch in cash.

I just felt bad for her.

Task Rabbit or DoorDash?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I don’t want to pay $25 for task rabbit if people don’t get paid well but I’d rather not keeping upping the mileage on my car. Anyone know if either one pays better? If they’re about the same, I can do TR without driving so much.

Im not delivering a prescription for no tip.

And this trend needs to stop, hospitals leaving ZERO TIP just to get their meds delivered to their patient. Nurses and that whole field are honestly some of the worst people I’ve encountered while dashing.

Why don’t doordashers read delivery instructions?

I’m genuinely wondering because there’s been like at least 3 times now just in my personal experience that they clearly didn’t read the instructions and I don’t even order often! Literally just realized I only ordered 3 times this year and every single time the dasher didn’t read the delivery instructions.

My last apartment was gated and I put the gate code in the delivery instructions. I still got phone calls and text messages and had to text them the gate code. This happened at least twice with two different dashers. Whatever, that’s not that big of a deal but it’s still annoying to be bothered for information I already provided proactively.

Now I live in a house with stairs which is a bit challenging since my disability has started impacting my mobility lately. The layout is kind of weird; our garage is on ground level with the street, next to the yard gate. After opening the gate, you have to walk down a set of stairs to our front door and first floor, then my room’s on the second floor. Our garage is also accessed through the second floor from inside the house. Recently I ordered a delivery when I was having a bad flare up making it difficult to stand and walk much, so I asked specifically in the delivery instructions if they could please leave it at the gate or by the gate at the top of the stairs instead of by the front door at the bottom of the stairs. That way I would’ve been able to only take a few stairs and go out through the garage to pick it up instead of walking up and down a flight of stairs to get to the front door when I was already in pain. Still they left it downstairs at the front door instead of by the gate where I asked.

Again I don’t really use Doordash unless I need to but this makes me want to stop using it entirely or maybe add the tip afterwards if they actually follow the instructions or something? I know that not everyone will ignore the instructions but it literally takes 30 seconds to read 1 line of instruction and if it happens every time I order then at some point I’ll just start ordering delivery from somewhere else.

driver left food in front of the door on a nyc street instead of bringing it to the lobby and a homeless man took the food… doordash won’t refund

Post image
168 Upvotes

EDIT: nyc also has guaranteed $22.13 per active hour pay now so the pay can’t even be the issue in this situation, just drivers who don’t care at all.

i live in nyc in a large apartment building where the downstairs door is always open and MANY signs about food deliveries. You are supposed to simply walk through the unlocked doors and hand it to the doorman. I also have this super clearly written in my instructions as there is typically homeless people sleeping or begging for money right by the building.

Today I ordered food and wasn’t on my phone as my doorman usually rings up through the intercom when stuff arrives. I check my phone about 10 minutes after the delivery was made and to my surprise, there is a photo of my food left outside by the door. I immediately went downstairs and tried to look for it just to see a homeless man eating my food a few feet from my doorway (knew it was my food bc the place writes your name very big across the bag). I tried to contact doordash to get a refund and they told me they can’t issue a refund bc the driver attempted to contact me! The only contact ai have from the driver is him telling me he’s picked up my food and him saying thank you right after he told me he got my food.

It was $45 worth of food and I tipped the driver $18 (40%) It was also only about 1.5 miles (maybe 10 minute moped drive in the area i live in) Door dash won’t even let me adjust the tip. EDIT: tipped food and didn’t get my own food bc I have all day work meetings from home and can’t step away for too long!
