I’m replacing my cpu and motherboard but I’m struggling to figure out if it’s worth the price of upgrading to ddr5 or staying on ddr4

Is psu tierlist reliable? Should even look at that thing. I was building a pc, had all the components, but I was curious what prices would shops offer me for the same spec computer, but they would built me it, no hassle in first time building, although I'm kinda techy. I got the computer but the psu was different one, I wanted a A tier psu, but got C+, the pc builder told me that psu tierlist is bullcrap and I shouldn't even look at it.

Hello, I made a new build and I'm pleased wth the performance but I have problems with cooling. I really don't like air cooling because of how they look and the idea of having a huge heavy metal block hanging perpendicularly to the ground on the mb is scaring me (I know it's fine but still). I decided to try out AIOs since they leave the system open for viewiing and such.
The first AIO was initially fine, the temps were not so good but It was fine. At some point (2/3 weeks in) I started hearing a gurgling or bubbling noise. It got worse over time. I tried tiltind the case, shaking the pump and such so I decided to get a new better AIO.
I got an Arctic Liquid Freezer PRO 3 and the temps are a lot better. The noise was gone and it was fine for like a month and a half. This morning I'm hearing this shit again. It even got scary at some point. The case was shaking and making an awful sound but it calmed down and just the annoying noise is left.
I think I'm tired of AIOs. I just want my CPU (ryzen 9950x3d) to be around 40-50 degrees which it is now (the cooling is still very good) and silence (within reason). I'm planning to get a good air cooler to just have a reliable solution even if the temps might be a bit worse.
The radiator is at the top like it should (I believe) with the tubes going down.
Is there an equivalent air cooler that I can get? I'm willing to put like 200$ tops on it.
EDIT:
It kept on farting up a storm for like 5 hours, then had a big one at some point and now it's nice and silent again...
I'll get an air cooler that was suggested here and will just keep it in case I feel like replacing it or if it totally breaks. The cooling is very (very) good so as long as it stays like that then I would like it to stay but I think it's on its deathbed.
Thank you for your suggestions :3

I recently bought a 9800x3d for 3990SEK (399 USD) which was on sale.
I currently own the 9700x alongside
9070XT
2x16 ddr5 6000mhz cl30
My main use case for the pc is competetive games, VR and sandbox games like beamng or bonelabs (VR).
I cant justify my purchase. The CPU is not opened and i have still like 3weeks until my return period runs out.
I play games at 1440p with my monitors refresh rate being 240hz
I watched so many youtube benchmarks (bs) and some have like 20% increased performance while others show 1% increase in performance. The 1% and 0.1% lows are much better (+25%~)
That said I need others view on my situation
The only problem i have right now with my CPU is that I sometimes get stutters or just low fps in overwatch and deadlock during teamfights. It drops down to 130~fps on worst case scenarios in Deadlock
Overwatch sits around 200fps which is not optimal.

Seriously, what the fuck is going on with PC hardware naming?
RX 5700 XT, RTX 5070, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Core Ultra 7 265K, B650, B850, X870E, Z890, SN850X...
X, XT, Ti, SUPER, K, KF, X3D, PRO... WTF? At least there used to be GTS and GTX, but now it's RX and RTX?
And just when I thought I was starting to understand AMD's naming scheme, they apparently decided their GPU names weren't confusingly similar enough to Nvidia's;
So instead of continuing with the 9000 series as 9700, 9800, etc., they went with fucking 9070 XT.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
We've got CPUs, GPUs, motherboards and SSDs all competing to see who can come up with the most meaningless combination of numbers and letters.
I swear you need a fucking spreadsheet just to figure out whether you're looking at a CPU, a GPU, a motherboard, a five-year-old product, or something released last Tuesday.
Am I the only one losing my mind over this?

I'm upgrading my build and looking for a budget GPU for Ryzen 7 5700X. I was looking at RX 9060 XT but even the 8gb version is above my budget that is €400.
Question if you guys expect prices to go down in terms of sales in the coming black Friday / Christmas deals? If yes, what do you think as the sweetspot price for the 8 and 16GB version?

Bought a prebuilt pc and the gpu is on it's last legs. I just want some good recommended gpu's under $300 that can run american trucking sim decently well.
I know my expectations can't be high, but considering how well this $400 pc has done so far (minus the gpu) I'm sure most gpus will suffice. In usa

Hey all, i’m a complete noob to pc building and I’m trying to make a decision between the ASRock RX 9070 or RX 9070 XT. My goal is to be able to run modern games in the 100 fps range and i’m not concerned about 4k gaming. Is it worth investing the extra money in the XT, or should I save my money? If anybody has either of these graphics cards let me know your experience with them!

Basically the title, i got my 5070 before all the prices going crazy, now i have a a little extra should i trade for the asus prime 5070ti at 1415$? i will be paying only 835$..
Also have the 7800x3d, is my 850 power supply enough?

I have a 5600g with 32 gb ddr4 memory. Ive been debating upgrading to am5 and just making my pc so good i wont need to upgrade it for a long time. But, Im wondering if just switching to the 5800x3d is a better investment?

PC Specs:
To maximize my chances of getting this PC built, I had to be smart with my budget. It was truly a stroke of luck that my brother-in-law agreed to pitch in and help me build this PC.
We reused the SSDs and HDDs from my old laptop to save some money, and even used an older Bronze-rated PSU from his previous build. We cut costs wherever we could, right down to choosing a basic case instead of a fancy fish-tank-style one.
One thing he said really stuck with me: "Let's build it first. We can make it cooler later."
And honestly, that became the motto of this entire build. We focused on getting the best performance possible without spending unnecessarily on aesthetics.
The best part? We managed to build this entire PC for under $1,500 USD in India

So for a bit of context, i’m running a very mid tier build.
I have a Ryzen 7 2700X, RTX 2070 and 2x8 16GB DDR4 ram.
As you can probably tell the cpu bottlenecks my gpu quite a bit which is what I need help with.
So my plan was to buy a used Ryzen 5 5600X to remove the bottleneck and use my gpu at its full potential. I found a good deal on facebook for it and set up to meet him tomorrow, however he told me he just put it in his brothers rig to test it and was getting very hot.
He said the temps were 95C on fortnite and 105C when he benchmarked it. For reference his brother has a 3060ti and 32GB ram. He then said he’ll bin it but i told him id give him a 20 for it which i’ll pickup tomorrow.
He also said he tested it a couple months ago before this and it was fine, what do you guys think?
Maybe he didn’t install the cpu fan properly? though he said he had a fresh cpu cooler and thermal paste. For $20AUD I think it’s worth a shot, maybe he screwed something up in installation?
Is it even worth it?

first of all, is this normal? i know to a certain extent it's inevitable and a normal thing, but usually people say it gets worse when playing games, in my case i think it's worse when it's idle than while playing games tbh, there is a constant buzz, and when I scroll up and now on any page on the browser it gets way higher, this thing kinda bothers me tbh, i now turn of the computer every time i want to read or meditate, because it's like a second tinitus i have to deal with haha, if anybody has any tips to reduce this, i would appreciate, thanks and sorry if this gets over asked around here

Hello hello,
A couple months ago I bought a new rig
Ultra 285k
64gb ddr5
Gainward 5090 phantom
I need some guidance on how to properly undervolt the gpu as some of my friends insists is better for the long run
I don’t know how to do it
Thankyou

Clould 2 or astro a10 gen2 for 55$
Cloud 3 for 70$...
Which one is the most cost effective choice for a long term use?

I have a solid budget AM5 build but I’m looking to upgrade my GPU. Either option is going to be a massive upgrade. Running a Ryzen 5 7500f and 32GB of 6000 CL 36. Right now my GPU is a 1660 super which has been good to me but I want to push absolute ultra at 1080p 60 fps with some future proofability.
I can find a 9060 XT 16 GB for about $400. If put a modest under volt on it it should draw pretty much the same power as my 1660, which is nice because my PSU isn’t all that strong.
Or I can find a 9070 XT for about $600. Id need a new PSU as well, so let’s say another $60.
I know the 70 is a much better GPU. But I don’t play a ton of graphics heavy games, and I don’t push high resolutions.
So what do you think? Should I spend the extra $260 or just take the cheap and easy upgrade path?

So, I have a laptop that was equivalent to a ps5. Ryzen 5900hx, 6800m gpu. It has overheating problem for a while, and seems like something is fried. I have given it to service center and hoping that they can find the problem. But if not, I am looking for an expensive replacement of whole motherboard worth at least half the price of laptop.
In that case, I don't see the point of wasting money on it. I spent like 1.5k usd on the laptop when I bought it. Spending 600-700usd on just 1 replacement part doesn't feel okay.
So, I am thinking I might as well get a desktop instead. I haven't kept up with changes since 3080 days. All I know is that cost of RAM and SSD is super high. Thankfully, I can reuse my ssd from the laptop. And I am fine with 16gb ram. Never used more than 12gb honestly in last 4 years of owning this laptop.
And I am hoping to go for single stick 16gb now, and getting another after few years. I want to basically keep using the same desktop for at least 5-6 years and maybe upgrade gpu in like 2030 or something.
I am thinking of going for 9000 series CPUs. Is it a good idea? Or should I stick with 7000 or even 5000 series?
Another thing. Is x3d variant that useful? 5000 series with x3d is same price as 7000 series without x3d. Am I looking at equivalent performance?
Basically, I have two possible routes.
5800x3d paired with a used 3080
Or 9700x paired with something like 5060 12gb or 9060xt.
They both seem equally priced. Will they provide enough of an upgrade over my current laptop?
What would be a better choice in this case?
I am happy to upgrade gpu later, so, I am thinking going for second route with newer cpu.
Or should I just forget upgrading and just get the motherboard of my laptop replaced?
P.S. cost of laptop fix seems to be about 600usd. Desktop is around 1k usd excluding SSD (which I will reuse from my laptop). Of course I will have to buy a monitor to go with it, but that's barely 100usd for a decent oled one. So, either half price for fixing existing laptop, or full price for desktop replacement. I am leaning towards desktop replacement at this point, as long as I can get at least 30% performance improvement.

Been out of the game a while, haven’t built a PC since right before COVID (back in my day ram wasn’t $400). Sold my old PC before moving for work but after 3 months have the itch again. Whipped up this build, am I bottlenecking my CPU/RAM with only a 5070 Ti? Thanks

I did my last build in 2022 and since then have become a homeowner and a parent - my brain has determined that my niche 'twice a decade' PC building experience was not useful information to keep at the top of the pile.
I've recently redone my setup on a standing desk and I've put my PC on the desktop (so as to keep tiny fingers from it when raised), but because I am a dumbass, I have it on the left hand side with the open glass facing away from me. 2022 me was REALLY into RGB and cool screens, so I've got a bunch of eye candy just facing the wall, and I'd like to see about flip-flopping the components to point towards me.
I figure this will be easier than tearing apart all my cable routing, unmounting the monitors, etc, and I thought about building a new one but I only have the one kidney left.
Anyone got any tips, website, a video, whatever - just the most common sense order to tear everything apart and put it back together without explosions?
Case: Corsair 5000X (Looking at it, I actually don't know if this case can flip-flop this way?)
MOBO: MSI Z690-A
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3080
The only other thing I think may be relevant to having to move around, I do have a 360mm AIO.
Any help would be nice, thank you!

Hey everyone, I'm meeting a seller to buy a used SSD in a public spot, so I won't have a PC to test it with software like CrystalDiskInfo. What are the best quick physical checks I should do before paying?
