Official Notice šŸ•Šļø Community Reminder: Respectful Dialogue & Open Exchange

Hey everyone,

We just want to take a moment to thank all of you for helping make r/AstralProjection one of the most interesting and supportive spaces on Reddit. Every day, people from around the world come here to share their stories, struggles, and breakthroughs — and that’s something really special. ✨

Lately, we’ve noticed a few discussions getting a bit tense or personal, so this post is simply a gentle reminder of what keeps our community strong:

  • Rule 1 – Be respectful. Speak to others the way you’d want to be spoken to.
  • Rule 9 – Share, don’t impose. Everyone’s journey is different — we don’t all have to agree, and that’s okay.

We’re here to explore together, not to argue about who’s right. Respectful debate is welcome; ridicule, sarcasm, or hostility aren’t.

A few people also asked about ā€œlow-effortā€ posts — just to clarify:
āž”ļø We don’t ban for that. Posts that are too short, unclear, or repetitive are usually just removed with feedback or warning. Offensive posts or spam are escalated.

Our focus is on keeping the energy here positive, open-minded, and mature, not on punishing anyone for sharing.

So keep posting your experiences, keep asking questions, and keep helping others find their way.
Let’s make r/AstralProjection a calm, inspiring space where curiosity and respect guide every conversation. šŸŒ™

With appreciation,
– The r/AstralProjection Mod Team

Are you already familiar with Astral projection and looking for motivation? Click here.

Introduction

Astral Projection, or an Out-of-Body Experience, or Near Death Experience, is the process of detaching consciousness from the body and travelling into non-physical reality; this reality is commonly called the Astral Plane. This is NOT the same as lucid dreaming; however, they are intimately connected; keep reading for various explanations of the difference. By using certain techniques and shifting one's awareness in specific ways, one can experience leaving the body, standing next to your bed and looking down at your physical body. From here, you're able to fly amongst the clouds, visit a different country, discover space, speak with other astral projectors or learn lessons from masters and guides who live in the Astral. You can discover yourself and the journey of your soul and learn new and objective information such as the history of our planet or possible future events. All of this is possible because the Astral Plane is commonly described as the 5th dimension of nature, which if you understand that in terms of raw science, you'll understand that it is beyond time and space. This sounds far-fetched at first, but in practice, it is perfectly understandable and it's a perfectly natural state and an innate ability that anyone can do.

Contrary to widespread knowledge, there are already numerous studies and tests to prove or at least suggest that OBEs is scientifically verifiable phenomena. Look up Graham Nicholls, who has had thousands of experiences, verified them with witnesses and is also being tested on; he is 100% objective and scientific in his approach, we hosted a Q&A event with him in our Discord which you can view here. Additionally, quantum physics is on the verge of understanding the multidimensional truth about the universe. Astral Projection is not paranormal and is not pseudoscience, it is absolutely natural phenomena. May we remind you that lucid dreaming was not considered 'real' up until around 40 years ago when enough scientific studies and media were surrounding it to finally be accepted into collective knowledge.

Furthermore, this topic seems to have certain stereotypes attached to it, such as the type of people interested in it - in our experience, you will find only that the most developed, intelligent and sincere people are those who are highly experienced. Those who are arrogant, egoic and uneducated are usually the ones who can be more delusional and inexperienced. Regardless, no matter who you are, even if you are sceptical or religious, anyone, from any walk of life, from almost any belief system, can achieve Astral Project. Thus your life, and your perception of life, will never be the same again - Astral Projection goes beyond belief, beyond anything one can imagine it to be like; it is one of the most authentic experiences that you'll ever have. It is not an escape from reality, but a unifying experience of a deeper, truer and intrinsic reality. It is not a dream, fantasy, visualiation or imagination. It is a full-on out-of-body experience in the true sense of the word; when it happens, you will know. This is Gnosis; knowledge based on direct experience, rather than belief.

A good introductory lecture on Astral projection can be found here.

The Golden Rule

If you want to learn how to Astral Project, you need to put in the work. You need to study the subject, read, watch the videos, get inspired, meditate and practice. Some are more natural at this than others, but regardless, anyone can do it; you need only to make an effort to master it like with anything in life. Practice makes perfect. It's the same as learning martial arts; you have to get up, go to the dojo, get to know the techniques, how it feels, and align them with your body and mind until mastered.

A Message To Everyone Who Is New

This link contains information about common misconceptions about Astral Projection, please read it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AstralProjection/comments/ayq2zo/the_same_questions_keep_being_aksed_over_and_over/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Remember, Astral Projection is the process where one detaches consciousness from the body. By using certain techniques one can achieve the sensation where you leave your body, stand next to your bed and look down on your physical body. You take control of your energetic body (this has many names) and you are able to manoeuvre this energetic body wherever you desire. For the sceptics, we know how it sounds. But we promise you that it is very real and if you put your beliefs and speculations to the side for a moment and practice, you will experience it for yourself directly, which is completely different from what you could ever imagine, and will surpass all of your expectations (unlike a dream, which lives off expectation).

As to what Astral Projection exactly is, it is of little practical use to discuss this. You can, but you will see that belief and speculation is all in the mind. Whether it is a spiritual experience or a scientific one, all we know for sure is that it can be experienced. It can be done. Everyone can do this. Draw your own conclusion AFTER you Astral Project. Until then, you are just either accepting or disregarding the ideas of other people. An idea can be a tricky thing. It spread fast and if the idea comes from someone who never projected, and does not know what he or she talked about, then it can be a damaging influence.

As well as all this, please be sure to read our rules. They are in place for the respect, equality and benefit of everyone and in them hold core principles that this community values.

What's the Difference Between Lucid Dreaming & Astral Projection?

In their deepest essence, lucid dreaming and Astral Projection are very different. Just one explanation you can say is that dreams are an inward subjective experience of your own creation of infinite possibilities, but Astral Projection is an outward objective experience of actual planes of existence that have laws and limitations similar to the physical plane. Unlike dreams, it is a real and tangible place where you can interact with others. Sometimes though there are experiences blurred between the Astral and dreams and it can be difficult to tell the difference. And also the opposite of this explanation can be true whereby we can have shared dreams and non-shared Astral projection. Check out this post and the stickied comment there. There's no absolute formula to tell whether it's a dream or the Astral unless you are experienced, which usually comes after years of practice and honest introspection. What's important is that we learn from wherever we find ourselves in the non-physical; dreams can be just as, if not more significant and profound than Astral Projection, in terms of learning about your own personal spiritual progression.

Check out this video for a full explanation

Continue to check out our Wiki for further explanations, you will find so much useful information in the library of this subreddit. For example, here's a great post explaining: "Is Astral Projection Real or Not?"

Is Astral Projection Dangerous?

Where is the man that keeps telling everyone he never returned from the Astral Plane? How can he spread this message if he never returned? Among all the experienced Astral Projectors who have done it thousands of times, no one ever got stuck, got hurt, got possessed, got 'memory wiped', got reincarnated etc. This is all nonsense, ridiculous fantasies of the mind which derive from fear and fear-mongering.

Remember this well: Fear is a product of ignorance. People who don't have knowledge will fear that what they don't know. If someone shouts "DEMONS~POSSESSION~EVIL", it is very likely that they have no idea what they are talking about. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Every experienced Astral Projector will tell you this. You cannot get hurt. You can fly straight into the sun and get out on the other end without a scratch. Actually, if you read deeply enough, you will find many Astral Projectors have come to the understanding that we all leave the body every night unconsciously anyway.

Can Anything Possess You While You're Out of Body?

You'll find a lot of misinformation and fear-mongering about this and it's mostly nonsense. Astral Projection is absolutely safe and natural. Read these 2 arguments from an Astral Projector's point of view:

1. The Astral body is connected to the physical body in a similar way that a radio is connected to frequencies. You can't have one without the other. PROJECTING implies one location to another, so two locations, not just one. You can be on the other side of the galaxy but still connected to your body. You can also look into the 'silver cord' about this.

2. The fact that we all Astral project every night unconsciously anyway implies that it is most likely safe since you don't really see anyone becoming possessed. In a sense, it's actually safer to practice Astral projection than it is not to, because at least then you'd be conscious of what you're doing and being influenced by at night. Of course, you can't really know whether we Astral project unconsciously every night until you become experienced yourself, but many authors will agree on this.

What is the Astral Plane Like?

Imagine the Astral plane as a place that has different layers, it is multidimensional. It is possible to travel between these layers. Imagine a very high skyscraper; every floor has its own characteristics, its own inhabitants, its own surroundings... its own vibration, frequency and energy.

The first floor is a place of lower vibrations, close to the Earth. It's likely that when you Astral project for the first time this is where your first experience will be. The Astral Plane is a place you share with other humans who Astral project, but also with a lot of regular people that inhabit these planes as their primary home in the afterlife.

When we say low vibrations we mean a low form of consciousness. Not low as in stupid or lesser, low as in dark, restraining, limited. Fear for example is the product of a low vibration, and love is a product of a high vibration.

Check out this diagram and read the stickied comment there.

More on Fear

Fear is nothing but fear itself. It is not a danger to you, it is not a brick in the face. It is simply a feeling that you can completely control and choose whether to feel or not. When it appears, just breathe and accept it. What you accept, you go beyond. Never let fear influence you. It is an undesired state that controls you; instead, control it. There is nothing to be scared of. You can encounter a scary experience, so what? Alright, that was scary, but that's it; an experience. You will get used to it and get over it, and new and more enlightening experiences will follow.

Now to speak more spiritually (sceptics keep your pants on); there are many types of inhabitants or forces in the Astral that can assist you in coming out of body. They have been commonly called guides, masters, angels, spirits etc. Regardless of their labels, they are authentic beings that want you to help you. Your compass to attract them is a sincere and open heart. They have much to share about life, the universe, existence and so forth. These beings are of a highly positive nature, ask them for help and they will. They have your best interest in mind and will teach you many things you want to know. Remember, the Astral Plane is the 5th dimension, distance between objects do not exist, a simple thought or feeling can attract a 'helper' who will come in no time. With this said, many will be sceptical of whether such a thing is possible; that's fine. There is no need to believe in such things. However over time and experience you may start to understand how it is actually possible. It's all about keeping an open mind.

An IMPORTANT Message to Everyone Who is Experienced!

We live in a time where Astral Projection is finally reaching the masses, slowly but surely! We can be part of the initiation of so many new people. The only thing it requires is patience and wisdom.

This sub is not like other subs on Reddit. It is not about being an overly active sub. It is not about posts that receive a lot of upvotes. Its function is not to entertain, it is to teach, with an occasional laugh.

We truly see this sub as a library. We collect as much information as possible and make it available to everyone who walks in. It is a library of development, and in the hallways of the library, people are talking about all kinds of subjects. Sometimes related, sometimes a little less related to what the library offers. Who cares. It's not about the conversations in the hallway, it is about the collection of wisdom that the library offers. It is about the people who walk in and have no idea what is going on. It is about teaching as many people as possible what this all is, how to experience it, and collectively, as a species, discover this next aspect of life.

It can be very frustrating. We know. The number of new people who come into the library shouting and screaming all sorts of things grows by the day in this world of controversy and illusion. The flow of new people entering will never stop - that is a fundamental fact that makes this sub what it is. There are a lot of online forums that have only a few experienced Astral Projectors, but this is the most popular virtual space there is with many wise and experienced members, and this, therefore, implies important work and provides purpose for those who are experienced; to help other souls realise their potential is one of the most beautiful gifts you can give to others.

You can do 2 things:

  1. You are annoyed with the new people who visit our library and you decide it is too loud and you leave.
  2. You see a group of new people walking in the library and sit down, smile, listen to the ridiculous things they have to say from time to time, and even enjoy it sometimes, and say, "Alright, now sit down and let me show you how it actually works."

Everybody has to start somewhere. It is the internet, reflective of our dear human race's collective chaos. Every single kind of person on the planet is represented here. Take that into consideration. Be patient. Try not to be so uptight with gatekeeping. Everyone is welcome here to learn and discuss. Try to see the bigger picture. How long this sub can exist depends on how many people it can help and benefit and how we help each other as human beings.

There is not much more than we can do than present all the information in an easily accessible way as we do already. People will always be lazy and ask the same question as we all know. Answering can be boring, repetitive and annoying sometimes. However, we will never stop. We believe in spreading this knowledge to everyone and we hope you do as well.

If you have the knowledge and you know how to Astral Project then now is not the time to hold onto that knowledge privately. Now is the time to HELP. Humanity is in a state that NEEDS help. So many people are on the verge of awakening. If you know EXACTLY how to project, then you know EXACTLY what a beginner needs to know. The core reason why this subreddit has thrived for so long is that there are special souls here who have been helping others. Share what you know, teach, give guidance, share your wisdom. Only good can come of this. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Those of you who are already helping, you are noticed, and you are truly appreciated šŸ’›

A couple of Buddhist quotes summarises the philosophy of this subreddit well:

"Our visit to this planet is short, so we should use our time meaningfully. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them."

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle. Happiness, knowledge and wisdom never decreases by being shared."

General AP Info / Discussion What do you think the astral realm is?

The more experiences i have, the less I know what to think. I always exit out of my window and most of the time I don’t direct or intend where I want to go. Each time I exit, I’m somewhere completely different. It mostly looks like earth but cooler like sometimes changing colors or animals that communicate. It always starts for me with flying and then landing and exploring. Sometimes it feels like a neighborhood and lately I’ve had experiences in neighborhoods in tunnels/caves.

Am I exploring my own consciousness? Am I interacting with energies that my brain filters as things I’m used to like houses, people, animals?

When I talk to people and ask them what their story is, they generally say they are from there (the astral), some say they have passed and some look confused like they are dreaming.

I had one weird thing happen where i exited and felt like i landed in a hole and could feel dirt and rocks. I couldn’t see and then i felt a hand and the message asking if i want help. I said yes and flew out and was brought into a town in a cave and whoever helped me looked like a pretty young woman who said she was a guide for the realm.

Another weird thing that happened is i was having a typical experience but saw my family and was talking to them (i thought maybe they were dreaming and ended up there). Then one of the peoples faces changed as i was talking to him and i said hey this doesn’t make sense is this even really you? Then the whole environment changed to a dark place where someone noticed i noticed and had people chasing me. Another guide took me out in time and when I looked down at where i left from i saw the whole area was connected and i felt being controlled by a huge dark looking tree.

I know this all sounds wild. I don’t know what to make of any of it. I’m just exploring and documenting it. Other people seem to see lights and energies and ETs. I don’t know what to think or how to interpret any of it and would love to hear if anyone can relate?

Sorry it’s so long. Summary: seeing if anyone has similar weird experiences during AP and how they interpret what they are actually doing/interacting with

General Question Seeing another version of myself. Has anyone experienced this?

Yesterday I had a projection where I saw myself in the mirror. The mirror was oval shaped in what looked like a restroom. I saw myself as tho looking in the mirror at myself. I looked a bit different but same age. The feeling I got was that I was seeing another version of myself inside a parallel reality where I exist. I’ve had many projections where I’m looking down on myself but inside the same reality which I’m guessing would qualify OBE, but this one was different in the sense that I knew it was me but I also knew that it’s from a different subjective experience

Question on How to AP How long should I keep trying to separate from my body during the vibrational state?

Hi everyone!
I’ve been practicing astral projection for a while now, and I’m happy to say that I’m no longer afraid. I actually feel pretty brave and excited about the experience!
I can reach the state where my body feels completely asleep while my mind stays awake pretty quickly.
Once I reach that state, I start imagining myself floating out of my body or climbing an imaginary rope. However, I still haven’t been successful.
My questions are:
How long should I keep visualizing myself floating or climbing the rope?
Should I keep trying for several minutes, or just relax and let it happen naturally?
Am I supposed to feel something specific before attempting these techniques?
Does anyone have tips that helped them get past this stage?
I feel like I’m getting closer, but I’m not sure what I’m missing.
I’d love to hear about your experiences and what worked for you!
Thank you!

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Does being bipolar prevent me from astral travel?

Hi. I am 24 years old boy. I intresting spritual thinks since 15. My bipolar medication is necessary for me to sleep. Stopping my medication is impossible. On the second day I don't take my medication, my senses become more heightened, and I can't sleep without it. Would it be sensible to try astral travel on the night of that second day? By the way, I'm a stable bipolar patient.

Need Tips / Advice / Insights astral projection

last night i tried to AP for the first time, im not really sure what im supposed to feel or how to know ive done it. last night i laid down in my bed( for context me and my brother are sharing a bed rn) i told him that i was going to try to astral project and he was nervous for me. i wasn’t scared because i really want to AP and truly believe its real. but i cant fully believe it unless i try. but i laid down in my bed my room was dark and he was asleep so i closed my eyes and focused on my breathing. there were moments where i felt like i was no longer in my body and that i was in my head, it sounds weird but this is what i felt like. then i realized that the black i was seeing from my eyes being closed was getting blacker, like a wave of the darkest black i’ve ever seen was taking over my eyes and then i swear for a second i saw i blue light come with the dark black taking over my mind. and then my brother moved and i was sent right back into reality. i tried again and after that i didn’t get the blue light again but the dark black was still taking over my vision. but i noticed that if a thought popped into my head immediately i was back into reality. is there any tips to having a quiet mind, or any tips really to AP im a beginner but i really want to be able to achieve this.

Was This AP? Could this have been an astral projection

I had a strange dream recently and wanted to ask people who practice astral projection whether it sounds familiar.
I became partially lucid and realized I was on an island I’d dreamed about years ago. It had a main house, an outdoor area, and what seemed like a large party house.

In the earlier dream, it was nighttime and there was a party going on. I felt like I wasn’t supposed to be there, and the whole thing felt unusually real. This time, I was on another part of the island during the day. I couldn’t clearly see the layout, but I somehow knew it was the same place.

While I was lucid, I had a strong feeling that the island was a real place people could visit in dreams. I even felt like I knew its name and location, though I can’t remember either now. I also felt as if I’d been there many times before, even though I only remember these two dreams.

I know vivid or lucid dreams can feel completely real, so I’m not assuming it was astral projection. I’m just curious whether this sounds familiar to anyone who has experienced it.

Have you ever visited a place during astral projection that felt familiar or seemed to exist independently of your mind? If you’ve experienced both astral projection and lucid dreaming, how do you tell the difference?

General Question Intención y atención

• Upvotes

OBE Confirmation Almost, but not quite and never again

I was lying on my back, had no thoughts of having any type of experiences except a good night sleep. Suddenly I felt myself floating above my body but before I touched the ceiling, My Son burst into my room to tell me my Mom had fallen out of bed! I LITERALLY felt my lighter self SLAM back into my body and I heard myself say the Umph noise out loud! It really hurt! I have heard of you're abruptly interrupted that type of pain can happen, has anyone else experienced this? šŸ‘€

Almost AP'd and/or Question New here

I’m shocked that this is a thing. I think I have accidentally gotten close to AP as a kid without realizing. I would just get bored and picture the earth and imagine how small we are and how big the universe is, still visioning the earth, I’d feel myself gravitate towards earth then something would just take over my body and spring me awake leaving me in a brief sense of panic but that’s it. And I remember doing this on multiple occasions on purpose just bored at night. I look forward to learning more but I’m catholic and gotta do some research lol.

Thought I might add I often use to get sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming unintentionally. Something would always wake me up though haha

General AP Info / Discussion Once you do AP, you will never stop

Hi!

I will start the discussion by stating that I never reached the point of achieving an AP. Therefore, I would like your point of view on this subject:

Robert Monroe, in his book called "Journeys Out of the Body", warned readers that once you open the gate to AP, you will never be able to sleep normally again. He claimed you will always be consciously awake, feeling the vibrations, and slipping out of your body. Is this really true?

I love sleep deeply: the moment I hit the bed, I fall straight asleep and stay that way for a solid 7 or 8 hours. Before continuing to try and achieve AP, I want to be sure it won't ruin my night-time sleep routine.

Here are my other questions:

- Does AP make you feel mentally exhausted?

-Are you actually able to sleep normally? Or once you start with AP, are you constantly "out"?

- When you are out, are you able to get back without physically waking up?

Thanks a lot!

General AP Info / Discussion I met an entity called ā€œMepremeaā€

I projected to my grandparents old home today. I was hoping to see, or look for, my deceased grandmother, as I have seen her there once before.

Getting there didn’t take much effort. I flew in a horizontal line, past many houses (American suburbs), and then buildings, once I arrived to my home country/city. I wouldn’t really know how to get there from a traditional coordinate standpoint, because that would technically involve navigating to a different continent, but I never really have a hard time getting to this destination in particular. Perhaps because it’s so familiar.

The apartment is quite large, has many rooms, and it’s dark. Not a single light is on. I roam the halls, everything completely empty. I look out the window, and the city of Sao Paulo is quite beautiful at night. For someone who has lived in suburbs for the last 16 years, the city does invoke a sense of awe for some reason, especially at night.

I see buildings, I can see the favela (Paraisopolis), and things are mostly as I remember last seeing them.

I turn around, and float across the living room. All lights are off, but I can see clearly.

Before going in to my grandparents room, I float in to a different room, because I’m checking them one by one. This particular room is probably the one that holds the least significance. It’s not the room my mother grew up in, it’s not the one I grew up in, and no one really ever lived there. I slept in this room when I last visited, but it’s mostly an office that can be used as a guest room, because it has a couch that converts in to a bed.

I take a moment, look around, look out the window again, and then proceed to leave the room. When I’m about to leave the room, I see my wife. She’s standing just outside of the room.

She waves at me, I ask what is she doing there, and I can instantly tell something is off. I know this isn’t actually my wife.

I call it out, and say to it: -ā€œI know you’re not my wifeā€.

It then takes the shape of a beautiful young blond woman, whom I have never met.

This is normally the point where I become hostile, as I don’t like when things try to deceive me. However, I didn’t get a negative feeling from it, nor malice.

So I say:

- ā€œWow, you’re beautifulā€.

It responds:

-ā€œReally…?ā€

With the way it responded, plus an intuitive feeling, I could tell it was extremely insecure, or worried, about its appearance.

The moment it responded to me, its appearance changed once again. This time it turned in to something non-human, to say the least.

I want to be very careful with how I describe this being, as to not be disrespectful. It was clearly not human, and very ā€œanimal-likeā€. I don’t know if I would call it ā€œrat-likeā€ or ā€œwolf-likeā€ or ā€œdog-likeā€, but it’s cranium had the shape of an animal, with a snout, and whiskers. Its entire face and body was also covered in dark grey or black fur. Bipedal like a human. Clearly female, and had a soft female voice.

To be honest with you, I have no idea what I was looking at.

When I saw it, I got some sort of nonverbal communication. Not telepathy, not a download, just an intuitive knowing that it was afraid to show me it’s true form, because of the way I might react. It was insecure.

So when it morphed, and asked me the question, I guess I felt compassion for it. I grabbed its hand, kneeled with one leg, and kissed its hand. I don’t know why I did this, describing it sounds weird, but in the moment it was the first thing I thought of doing. Like an old timey greeting.

I guess I wanted to relieve its insecurity and that’s the first thing my dumb ass thought of doing. I wanted them to feel beautiful or normal. So I said:

- Yes, really. It’s nice to meet you.

- It’s nice to meet you too.

I’ve never greeted anyone in this manner before, but in the moment this is what I felt compelled to do. To kneel and make it feel special.

I guess you could say that it looked scary, and not conventionally attractive to human standards, but the sweetness in their voice made it likable and not intimidating. I wasn’t afraid of it, nor did I sense hostility. I just sensed a lot of insecurity, and that it wanted to run away.

I ask it:

- Could I please ask you some questions?

- Sure. (It had a very warm tone).

I gently grab its hand, and sit them next to me on the couch. It didn’t resist, and seemed flattered or happy to speak with me. Conversation went something like this (to keep it objective):

- I have to ask, why are you here?

- I was just passing by, and then I saw you.

- Why did you take the form of my wife?

- Because I didn’t want to scare you.

- But why my wife?

- Because it’s familiar to you.

- What is your name?

- Mepremea (Mepremia?).

I began to feel sick during this conversation. Short of breath, dizzy.

I had several more questions for it, as it was very nice and willing to answer everything I was asking. When I went to ask the next question, I paused, and instead I said:

- I’m sorry, I have more questions, but for some reason I don’t feel well.

It gasped with concern, genuine concern:

- You need to go back, now. (It said so with a concerned and caring voice).

It grabbed me by the hand, flew me out the window, and as if with the speed of light, took me back to my room, next to my body. It tugged my arm, and almost threw me back in to it.

I opened my eyes that same second, looking for it, because there was almost no transitional time between states, but I felt EXTREMELY dehydrated and hot.

I keep the AC at 65 degrees, but I feel like it could easily be 80 in here. I chugged a ton of water, and my body temperature has still not come down, even 2h after. (By the 3rd hour now, it has).

I don’t feel sick like I have a fever or anything, I just feel very hot.

I didn’t lay down dehydrated or anything, so I wonder why that happened. I do have cardiac problems though, and some times this does happen naturally. I don't believe the entity was the cause of it necessarily, it could be coincidence/condition-related.

If you ask me what it was, or what my intuition tells me, the answer is I have no idea. I didn’t feel malice or danger, I felt it had a genuine sense of care and concern, but I wouldn’t know what to classify it as. No idea. Never seen anything quite like it.

Almost AP'd and/or Question Why am I scared?

Hey, I know this question probably gets asked a lot but I'd appreciate some advice.

Last night I went to bed with the intention of trying to astral project (for the first time). All was going well until about 20ish minutes id guess into my meditative state or whatever you want to call it. I started feel like my body was becoming weightless so I thought I must be close. Then I began to feel like everything was spinning really fast. Literially felt like I had the spins from being drunk even though I had my eyes closed.

I don't know why but I just became really scared for some reason - even though I'm trying hard to astral project and have been throughout this whole year. My heart started beating out of my chest I could literially hear it I was terrified for whatever reason, all while this spinning was still happening. I didn't give up though. I began thinking to myself "you're fine, you're safe" things like that and I began to calm down. But then it this spinning began to stop and it went back to normal.

I had a previous experience similar to this a few months ago when I managed to reach the vibrational stage - but I panicked and woke up.

How can I avoid this? Thanks

OBE Confirmation Out of Body Experience That Potentially Saved My Life?

I found this subreddit because Papa Meat just made a video about it so I thought it would be interesting to share my story and to see if anyone else had a similar experience.

I was in the Army and we were in the field for a gunnery exercise with our Bradley Fighting Vehicle. It was nighttime and January- even had snow that week in the desert and it was brutal. Our vehicles were staged for the night and we were sleeping. We had the the heat running full blast- which was definitely spewing out exhaust fumes. We were exhausted and freezing so we just ignored it.... All hatches closed and locked in for the night.

I was in my sleeping bag sleeping on the left bench seat. All of a sudden, my body gets really warm. All of a sudden, my whole body starts tingling. The best way I could describe it is the pins and needles feeling your foot or leg gets when it falls asleep- except the entire body.

All of a sudden, I start to float out of my body. I look at my body and my surroundings and everything was how it was in reality. My face towards the back of the bench seat and in my gray cold weather sleeping bag. I start floating up with a very warm and reassuring feeling. I came to the conclusion that I was dead but I just kind of accepted it. I floated up through the top of my Bradley. I start floating, accepting the new path I was on and I get around 25 to 30 ft above my vehicle looking down on it.

All of a sudden someone places their hand on my right shoulder from behind. It was a female's voice and all she said to me was "It's not your time yet.". Then she lowered me back down and I went back into my body.

As soon as I entered my body again, I woke up. Sweating profusely, disoriented, nauseous, and short of breath. I immediately opened the troop hatch behind me to air out the vehicle.

After that, I went to check on my driver. He seemed okay but I noticed the engine access panel wasnt latched that was next to him- so that couldn't have helped our situation either. I got that latched up, went outside to clear my head, and then went back to sleep with some hatches cracked open and the heater turned off.

That was my first out of body experience ever but ever since that experience, I have had more of them. Some have been scary and have turned into sleep paralysis, but others were warm and inviting.

However, I don't know who or what that being was that lowered me back into my body, but I really do feel like that experience potentially saved both my life and my driver's.

OBE Confirmation Watching myself from the ceiling, then a formless green energy entity pushed me back and scanned my face

2 nights ago, in a lucid dream, I was floating near the ceiling and watching myself working at my desk below. I felt fully aware and separate from my physical body.

Suddenly a glowing green energy entity appeared. It wasn’t a solid form or a ball — more like a formless, electric energy field that kept shifting and changing shape (almost star-like at times with crackling light). It pushed me and forced me back into my bed / physical reality.

Once I was back, it came extremely close — about 10 inches from my face — and seemed to be looking into me or scanning my mind. It stayed there for roughly 10 seconds, still morphing and glowing, then disappeared.

The whole time I had a strong feeling that I wasn’t supposed to be out there and that the entity didn’t want me in that state. It clearly wanted me back in my physical body.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with a formless energy field forcing them back during a lucid dream or OBE and then coming in close like that?

Positive AP Experience Walking around an astral city environment, then rising into a place full of light.

Some context: I've had some vivid recall of some spontaneous experiences I've had in the astral a few times over the course of my life, but more recently in the last few months I've been more intentional about meditation, learning about conscious lucid dreaming and astral travel techniques, and working on myself to clear out of lot of noise and subconscious fear etc. This experience comes after about a month of more intentional practice.

TL;DR: (This is pretty long) I had a very vivid experience of starting out in what appeared to be the streets of a city in a lower astral realm, then becoming lucid as I walked around, then raising my vibration to rise higher and higher into the air, then was surrounded by light before waking up.

The lower astral city, and become very lucid

I remember being in some sort of dirty dive bar like establishment, and there were large pretty obese people sitting in booths drinking and eating. One of them raised a glass of beer (?) to me and asked me to join him in drinking (he did seem kind of friendly) but I turned him down. I next remember looking at the bar area, and seeing really obese pig like people kind of slumped over the bar in their seats. Some of them were nearly naked, and more pig like in appearance than people like. The bartender told me they were there for anything, including sex (which seemed revolting to me in the moment), but I got the impression they were all trying to indulge some addiction to drinking and the bar environment, but I wasn't quite sure.

I walked out of the bar into some relatively narrow street, and everything became really clear and sharp. I noticed all kinds of details in the street, and saw other shops etc. as I walked. It then suddenly occurred to me to look down at my hands, and that's when the clearest lucidity of the whole experience hit me. I remember being super excited while looking at my hands and telling myself "Ok if you're really lucid remember something, like 4-3-2-1", and I repeated the number sequence to myself while looking at my hands and it seemed to work! I was fully lucid, and walked around and away from the more cramped streets I was looking at.

"City center" area, having fun!

I next found myself in a more upscale looking part of the city, with taller buildings and better paved streets. I was at some intersection when I started to get happier and more joyful, and realized I could jump really high! I spent some time jumping from ledge to ledge of some tall buildings around the intersection area I was in. I saw some other people sitting higher up on ledges too, and I got the impression that they were also trying out some new ability, or maybe they were inspired because the saw me, but I wasn't sure. I noticed I was getting higher and higher, and I started to have longer sustained periods of just floating and feeling really good. And that's when I noticed some beings who were really starting to not like my presence there for some reason.

"Dementor" beings, getting chased

The beings looked like tattered flying black cloaks, and I remember calling them dementors when I first saw them because they really resembled that. However, I quickly realized they were actually just people wearing some sort of long black tattered cloaks, with some sort of masks on to obscure their faces! I was really shocked because it seemed like they could fly, or at least float for periods of time, and they were rising up off the street level directly towards me. I remember them saying something like "There's another one, stop him!" or something like that. I remember I wasn't afraid of them, just really shocked that they seemed mad I was doing what I was doing, and then shocked again that it seemed like they could fly up after me.

Raising vibration, entering the light realm, then waking up

I remember thinking to myself, "Think loving thoughts think loving and happy thoughts", and I starting floating upwards away from the ground and city much more quickly. The dementor people followed me for a while, but then they fell away back towards the ground. I kept rising and rising and feeling more and more joy and happiness! Then it seemed like a very quick transition in the atmosphere and I was surrounded by light. Everything everywhere was a golden light that penetrated my body and everything.

Suddenly, everything stopped being light, and I was staring into the face of a woman. I think she was trying to teach me to use a pencil, and I realized it must have been a memory I had when I was very young. I realized it must have had something to do with the joy I was feeling, like maybe it was a happy experience I had when I was a little kid, and that was the memory that was the source of my ability to rise higher into the air and into the light filled environment.

As I was thinking about this, I suddenly snapped awake, and was back lying in my bed. I wrote this whole experience down in my dream and astral experience journal, which has been a habit of mine for over a decade now.

What I think about this...

Overall, I would call this an astral experience, that maybe began from an earlier dream state. I've had lots of vivid "normal" dreams, but the quality of this experience was quite different, leading me to believe it wasn't simply a more lucid normal dream. I think it may have been something like a spontaneous "dream exit" into the astral, but not quite sure.

I'm still working on exiting my body in a more fully lucid way, rather than rely on spontaneous dream exits or similar. I've felt some aspects of the vibration stage a few times before while trying out the wake-back-to-sleep method, but I'll keep trying out what works for me and report back when I'm successful!

Was This AP? Looking for interpretation: lucid dream or real OBE? Fell backwards through my mattress after a month stuck at vibrations

I’ve been actively trying to astral project for about a month now. I often get strong vibrations, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten. I’ve never been able to actually separate. Until a few nights ago, when something happened that I’m still trying to make sense of.

I was dreaming, and partway through I realized I was lucid. My first thought was, ā€œPerfect, now I can go out of my body.ā€ The moment I thought that, I found myself lying in my own bed. Then it was like a trap door opened up under my mattress, and I fell backwards through the bed and out of my body.

The fall had a very specific shape to it. My back was rounded and leading the way down, with my arms and legs trailing up behind me, sort of a C shape, like falling backwards into deep water. While I was falling, I remember consciously telling myself not to get excited or scared, or I’d wake up.

Then I was in my bedroom. Everything looked dark and the same, except the edges of everything in the room were glowing slightly, a warm yellow-orange colour, almost like each object was outlined in light. I had a strong sense that something or someone was in the room with me, but I never saw them. I remember feeling that it felt real but then it just felt like I woke up.

So it felt like a crossover between a lucid dream and an out-of-body experience, and I’d love input from people who know this territory better than I do:

  1. Does this sound like a lucid dream that turned into a genuine OBE, or a dream about having an OBE? Is there a way to tell the difference?
  2. Has anyone else exited by falling or sinking through the mattress, back first? Most of what I’ve read describes rolling out or floating up, so the trap door feeling surprised me.
  3. For those who got stuck at the vibration stage early on, did your first real exit come through a dream like this?

Thanks so much. I look forward to your comments.

Successful AP Astral Projection During Holter Monitor Test

I am currently hooked up to a Holter monitor for a test, and I just astral projected. It is common for me to astral project. There’s always a snap back when I come back into my body. It feels like an electric shock. I usually have a full body snap back, but sometimes part of my body experiences it more than others. Today, I snapped back into my body only in my left leg. Now my left leg hurts. I just need to get up and walk around. Spirit said the reason I snapped back into my leg is because of the Holter Monitor. It couldn’t enter into my chest so it chose my leg. I wonder if the Holter Monitor report even recorded that snap back. A snap back feels like electricity, so I wonder if it was recorded. How would I even tell my doctor I astral projected during the test? They would think I am crazy.
