Moderator Annoucement The “best evidence” for the paranormal is getting harder to find every time someone asks for it.

This question is being asked several times a week at this point.

Everyone has a different standard for what they consider “credible evidence,” and what persuades one person may not persuade another. What seems to do the best job is having a personal experience, but those anecdotal stories rarely persuade anyone who wasn’t already a believer.

Either way, the best way to find this evidence is by…you know…looking for it. Try using the search function on the subreddit.

And to all of you skeptics who were genuinely convinced by a piece of evidence you found online, please post it on this subreddit!

Hi everyone. I’ve just joined this subreddit because something happened to me that I still can’t explain, and I need to know if anyone else sees what I see.
I work at Longleat. This was Christmas 2022. My shift ended around 7pm. It was pitch dark and thick with fog. I can’t drive, so I waited well away from the Christmas lights and music — I’d had enough of the noise. My mum was late. Really late.
After what felt like forever I walked up in front of Longleat House so she could find me. The second I got there, the air changed. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up so hard it hurt. I suddenly knew I wasn’t alone. The wind picked up and screamed through the trees, and a cold settled over me that felt… wrong. Like something was standing right behind me, watching.
I couldn’t stop shaking. When my mum finally pulled up she took one look at me and asked what was wrong — I was white as a sheet. The moment I got in the car I felt this overwhelming urge to take a photo of the house. I don’t know why. I just knew I had to.
I still think about that night. I’d never believed in any of this stuff before. But whatever was there felt real. Too real. Maybe a ghost from the house. Maybe a child. Maybe something else — I’ve heard the stories about Warminster. All I know is I didn’t imagine it.
The photo is grainy and the fog was heavy that night, but look closely at the area I’ve circled. Turn your brightness right up. There’s something there. A shape. A blurred face. A body.
I’ve worked at Longleat for years. I wouldn’t have taken that photo for no reason.
Does anyone else see it

First 2 brightened photos the others are original.

Unexplained Has anyone ever experienced this before?

• Upvotes

Last week, some friends and I stayed at an airbnb lake house outside of Houston. One night, we were all outside in the back around a campfire. The house had a lot of windows and there were 3 near us that were abnormally low with no screens on them.

While I was sitting at the fire, facing the house, I saw one of my friends, or what looked exactly like her, duck and walk through one of the windows. As soon as that happened, she immediately walked out of the front door carrying food for the grill. The timing was impossible and I thought it was weird.

I asked her “did you just walk through this window?” And she said “no” while looking confused I would even ask that. The reason I asked was to tell her a funny story that happened years ago with a friend crashing through a window once (I was thinking about this story while watching her go through the window) . After she said no, I actually kind didn’t know how to feel. I made sure she wasn’t fucking with me but the other 3 people were next to me and didn’t see her go through the window; they weren’t facing that way.

I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I saw her (or what I assumed was her) physically step through that window. But it wasn’t her or anyone else in the group. I just feel like if I were to see a ghost, it wouldn’t be stepping through a window like that. My friend said maybe I slipped between dimensions for a second. I’m just curious if anyone has had a similar experience.

Haunted House Moving But My Wife Wants To Invite The Ghost With Us

Long story, but here is the rundown. We moved into an apartment last December and the apartment is terrible so we are moving. We’re moving because of the apartment complex not the ghost to be clear.

We have had a lot of different experiences with the ghost be it objects moving, lights turning by themselves, and seeing apparitions. We asked management about it when it first started happening and they kinda confirmed something happened here.

We have kinda determined it’s a child ghost? It likes to play with our children’s toys, we have had a guest stay the night and they heard someone say “mom” over and over again while staying in the room which is the room that’s always cold in the apartment.

The experiences have gotten better? My wife seems to think so, but also our toddler son was sleeping on a bed next to ours one night and woke us up screaming while seeming to be dragged under the bed. He’s just turned two so he’s not able to tell us what happened.

So we are moving and my wife wants to take the ghost with us? Thinking what if the next family isn’t nice to them and helps the ghost kid to the transition to the afterlife.

Is that possible to take the ghost with us? Should we?

Question Loud whistle inside

Last night my husband and I were cleaning up dishes from dinner. I was on the couch and the show we were watching went to the ending credits and started to play music. I heard a loud human whistle and thought it was my husband or in the music of the show until he asked, “was that you?”. We played the show credits back to see if there was a whistle in the music. No whistle. It was so loud and clearly human sounding we were a little freaked. My husband barely “believes” in the paranormal and he seems convinced it was a spirit. We’ve had some experiences in the past (shadows, feelings) but it’s been nearly a year with no “experiences”. I’m aware of much folklore of not whistling back to a whistle outside, but what about when it’s inside your home?

Question Someone or something playing with my hair in my sleep, should I be concerned?

So I had a dream a few days ago.

In this dream it was like I woke up from a dream kinda dream. But when I woke up I cannot move at all, at first I just shrugged it off, thought I was experiencing sleep paralysis for the first time, but then I felt my hair being played with from behind. And I like to sleep with lights off btw so in my dream my room was pretty dark.

So I was very spooked, like my whole body quite literally was screaming for me to move, to stop that invisible entity from playing with my hair. (My first instinct was to elbow the entity lol) And the entity seemed to sense my struggle cause they tauntingly dangled my hair in front of me, I couldn't see it but I could feel them gather my hair and pull them forward, tauntingly swaying them around.

Thankfully I woke up from the dream through sheer force of will, but when I woke up I was in the same position as in my dream; lying on my side while cuddling a pillow. I got scared for a bit, cause what if that wasn't a dream but something real? My worries was calmed when I touched my hair and found them not tied (in the dream, I was wearing a ponytail).

But I still worry sometimes today, cause what if that was some warning or foreboding? Or some spiritual entity actually playing with me? Cause recently, I've been practicing cartomancy (playing cards instead of tarot cards) in my free time, just a hobby to be honest.

I'm wondering if that dream was connected to the fact I've been engaging in spiritual things, and if I should be concerned?

(Sorry if there's grammatical errors, English is not my first language.)

Experience Faefolk- was it confirmation bias ?

So last night, around 2am , after studying I decided to do a quick tarot reading. Before I do readings, I like to do a quick meditation to focus on my energy on the readings. Then I did some energy reading exercises. I am very sensitive to energies. Not sure how to explain it but I get into a zone after spiritual practices like this. I went to bed and was scrolling on my phone when I came across a random video of a person explaining about Faeries and about Robert Kirk's story. Mind you, I had no idea before this , about who he was or about faeris. I got engrossed in it and went on to read a bunch of experiences/stories with faeries people had, positive and negative both. I was trying to sleep and for some reason it was hard for me to do so, I was also getting a bit tingly, got an eerie feeling which made me scared. I fell asleep after some time and vividly remember having the weirdest visuals in my dream. I saw a tiny blue light I was talking to, I was basically talking to it right next to a tree in the dark and telling it my biggest dream- getting into a university for masters by research. I am currently doing applications for context but have been unsuccessful and its the only thing on my mind. Soon after I talked to this tiny blue light, I started getting weird visuals I cannot even describe, I was so scared, I couldn't even switch positions in my bed and froze. I woke up in sweat and went to sleep with my mum. I even made an apology to them, saying I am sorry if I did anything wrong. I kept hearing noises after that. I wake up this morning and go outside in the backyard area of my house, we do have 2-3 crows who ask for food everyday but as I walked out, there were at least 15-20 crows just cawing as loud as possible and they were looking at me as I prepared their feed.

WTAF was this ? I cannot decide if its confirmation bias or a legit experience. Can someone please help me decode this ! Thank you if read the whole thing.

Experience Short little story that I vividly remember from when I was a kid.

If there’s anything that needs to be cleared up be free to ask! Especially if you enjoy my story. I haven’t written in a while so if I get anything mixed up or it’s confusing- which I’m trying to avoid as best as I can!- just comment and I’ll either edit the post or reply to you.

When I was younger probably around 11 or 12 I wasn’t in the best household with my dad. My step sister especially made it hell for me while I was living there. Despite that there were several times when we were playing with spirit boxes and such out in the pasture of our house. Me, my 2 step brothers, and my step sister had been on the trampoline just going back and forth with this box just asking and answering questions. I had a little rainbow tie dye drawstring back with me-that I can’t remember what it had in it- on the trampoline in my lap. Most of these responses had been really direct.

I’ve really never been one to believe in the paranormal as I’ve pretty much not believed in any religion since I was little. Even when I was maybe 6 at church in bible school or something I just remember thinking it was horse shit. Especially when our teacher was talking about something and everyone randomly started crying. I wasn’t affected at all and she said “Jesus was in the room with us.” Which I found hilarious. Even if he was truly there, like we were taught he always was, why only now do people break down?

Well eventually one of my step brothers, let call him Davin, asked for whatever entity to describe something around us, just for fun. We weren’t truly believing because it’s a box cycling through radio stations, what could it really do right? Well soon after my brother asked that question… it said “rainbow bag.” Sure it could’ve been a coincidence but I’ve always thought it was odd how specific it was. That’s mostly what made me question the existence of the paranormal, whether it’s how it is in the movies, how most people describe them, or if it’s more of a presence or a feeling than anything.

Fast forward a few months from that incident. I was really upset because my stepmom was making all these remarks about me. Not the nicest. When I was in my room, as a kid would, I cried. I was thinking about my mom and my family there. It was visitation and I wasn’t old enough to make a choice. I cried and cried wishing someone were there. And I felt a hand on my cheek, or what seemed like it. I’ve only heard stories about my great-grandmother. I’ve heard about how precious she was and all these coincidences behind her after her death. Sometimes it’d be cards that we didn’t even know we had would show up, various times smelled her perfume. My mom still has the bottle but it stays in her jewelry box. She died when I was 3 and I didn’t remember her at all. When I felt what I did on my cheek, it was weirdly warm, which isn’t really what you’d expect if it was an entity, but in that moment, even though I’ve never really thought much of her, I was certain it was her. Soon after I even smelled her perfume. That’s the only thing I truly remember about her.

Ever since then I’ve always questioned, and I’m now 18, and I keep thinking about it. Thinking about her. I’ve really always been interested in the paranormal, maybe connecting with them if they do exist. And I feel like that may have been what excited my interest in the paranormal.

Unexplained Do faraday cages work on ghosts?

Serious question. Do you think faraday cages can keep out ghosts and electro-magnetic entities, demons, energetic parasites, etc.? And if so, could sleeping in a room-sized faraday cage prevent sleep paralysis encounters and/or alien abductions? Someone please conduct an experiment. Maybe just try to use a ouija board or spirit box inside of a faraday cage... Let me know your thoughts!

Visitation Dream Sleepy Thoughts

What are your thoughts/beliefs on dreaming of loved ones who've passed on?

I once read in a book that, we as humans, all have the "6th" sense. However, some of us are so tied up/distracted/"busy" when awake that we can't tap in. First those, its only when we are asleep that the wall comes down so that our mind and all senses are open. Knowing my own chaotic brain + me always dreaming of passed loved ones, I can believe this!

Haunting I used to work at a haunted restaurant

A couple of years ago I used to work at a haunted restaurant. I have no idea why it would be haunted, but several employees including myself have had unexplained experiences. The most notable experiences I've had were:

  1. An unexplained blue glowing mist in the pitch black soda room accompanied by an overwhelming feeling of unwelcomeness.

  2. A plastic drink glass falling backwards on a shelf that was obviously leaning forwards (I did not push it)

  3. Several instances of what sounded like someone calling my name over the ambient noise of the restaurant that nobody owned up to

  4. A sound that I can only describe as a person jumping and landing on the sidewalk behind me when I was the only person outside

  5. The loaded tractor trailer that we used as a storage unit and break room shaking when nobody was inside it.

And finally

  1. An apparent poltergeist that followed me home and ripped a Christmas garland off of my wall that had been there undisturbed for over a week. You could tell that it wasn't simply the adhesive failing because you could actually hear it being ripped off from across the room. My dad rehung it and it didn't move again until we took it down like 2 weeks later.

It has been almost 3 years since I stopped working there and I haven't had a single paranormal experience since. It is truly baffling.

Unexplained I never thought I'd be sharing my own experience here, but something happened last night

I never thought I'd actually make a post here. I've always been someone who reads other people's experiences and incidents, but I never imagined I'd have something of my own to share.

Last night, I had a really stuffy nose and couldn't sleep at all. I was on my phone until around 1 AM, just scrolling, when I noticed my eyes twitching. I figured it was probably time to stop staring at a screen and actually try to sleep.

So I put my phone aside and just lay there, staring at the ceiling. I was wide awake, not even close to falling asleep.

And then, out of nowhere, I heard someone whispering directly into my ears.

It lasted maybe two seconds, but it scared the absolute hell out of me. I freaked out and ran straight out of my room.

I've told a few people about what happened, and everyone keeps telling me it was probably a hallucination or that I must have been dreaming. But that's the thing I was wide awake.I hadn't even started drifting off to sleep. I was literally just lying there, staring at the ceiling.

I genuinely don't know what happened, and I can't stop thinking about it. I've read so many incidents on here, but experiencing something like this yourself is a completely different feeling.

Has anyone else ever experienced something similar, especially when they were fully awake? I'd really like to hear your experiences because I honestly don't know what to make of mine.

Experience My wife can see things I can't (UPDATE)

Post image
0 Upvotes

ORIGINAL POST: https://www.reddit.com/r/Paranormal/s/7h7aNTA6UZ

Hi all,

First of all WOW!! My first post absolutely blew up! I totally did not expect that but I have received tons of advice, encouragement, and positive comments from people who have had experiences with this sort of thing. Thank you for all of you who responded and shared some of your own personal experiences.

So a couple of you said something about the picture I shared, specifically about how they spotted a few things that I missed initially. It is now confirmed that there is something in the trees watching me take the picture. Others have speculated there being a face in the window, and to that I'm not really sure. My wife did confirm that the thing in the woods was something she had seen before, but that it wasn't anything evil. Queue the sigh of relief.

I will put the picture here again, this time zoomed in to the thing in the woods, in case you all missed it. You can very faintly see two eyes and what looks like a face. Even though my wife said it wasn't bad, I can't help feeling a little terrified. The fact that something was watching me from the trees and I didn't notice it is absolutely horrifying.

Anyway, shortly after I made the first post, my wife and I and two of our friends who are also married took a short weekend trip. We were close to Gatlinburg, TN, and the cabin we were staying in was right smack dab in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains.

Long story short, my wife told me she kept seeing things. Feeling energy. One night we were out on the porch together and I was drinking a beer while she sat wrapped in a blanket. I turned to my right and swear I saw something duck around the cabin. I told her this and she said she felt a dark energy somewhere near us. I was in panic mode. I turned on my phone flashlight and ran to the side of the cabin, hoping to catch whatever it was. Surprise surprise, it was no longer there.

Knowing the Appalachian Mountains, it could have been a number of things: A wendigo (apparently you're not supposed to say that word out loud according to my wife😬), a skinwalker, or any other dark creature that roams the woods. Luckily we were not a witness to the "silent forest," where every noise in the forest just stops. The wind, the bugs, the trees. Everything falls silent, because whatever is near to you is feared enough to make even the trees themselves go quiet. Scary stuff. Luckily I was not a witness to much, but I heard about it from my wife.

I think this will be the last update for a good long while, at least until something interesting happens again. Not sure when that will be, but I hope it isn't soon. Thank you all again for your support.

EDIT: Not sure why reddit significantly downgraded the picture quality but to see the thing more clearly, go see the original post and zoom in on that area. You can see it better there for some reason

Debunk This I’m like 70 percent sure I’m having paranormal issues with this model!

the model: 1939 Lionel Prewar (made before world war two) no. 1666. For information!

I do model railroading and noticed an ozone smell (normal from these vintage models), but it wasn’t powered on at the time, it was on a shelf for display. figuring that it was a mechanical issue, I took it over to the layout and test ran it, but it didn’t run properly, and started whistling it’s whistle tender (an air driven internal whistle inside the coal tender, pic. 2) without command from the controller. Thought it was just mechanical issues and planned to work on it today.

got home and noticed it wasn’t on the shelf, but on the floor, both sitting upright, with black hair on it’s trailing wheels (a 2-6-2 has two leading unpowered wheels being on the very front, six driving wheels coupled with side rods, and two unpowered wheels in the back. Those rear wheels is what I’m talking about). no one in our family has black hair, and also I find the situation weird.

the model also has NO smoke unit, but I keep smelling meta-terphenyl (used in smoke pellets for O gauge). I don’t have any smoke pellets (I mainly do N scale railroading and started collecting vintage Lionel for fun). I’m not hallucinating by the way, as I had it out on the deck for a bit to test the smell, and the smell was gone from my house.

took the model back inside and the smell started up at night, coming from the model which (once again) was found on the floor with scratch marks (as seen in pic. 2 on the whistle tender). the floor is carpet. also, our security camera glitched out at this time, so I unfortunately do not have a full recording of how it fell, but it looked like it got grabbed, toppled over, dragged, and rolled to the spot.

i’ve been a believer of paranormal stuff, but am unsure what to think about my case! I don’t think it is 100 percent paranormal, BUT i do find this weird. I’ll think about giving more updates soon if it continues.

Question I need some advice when it comes to my haunted house

I made a post here a couple years ago, which will give this post a pretty good backstory or what you can call it: the post

After that happened so much more has been going on.

The top floor of our house is one hallway, and then 4 rooms, 3 of the rooms to the right of the hallway when you come up the stairs and the one at the very end. I was sitting my now then bedroom thats placed right when you come up the stairs, and I heard heavy footsteps walk up the stairs. I sing out "daaad" as a joke because I think its him. I hear a mutter right outside my room, a man's voice, and then the footsteps following down the hall and slamming the door at the end of the hall. I get worried that my dad would be mad at me so I leave my room, walk to the bedroom where I heard the door slam and no one is there. This was summer 2025.

Spring this year me and my friends decided that we wanted to ghost hunt, this we did in a barn on my friends property that's been renovated so we can hang out there. We heard a demons name thru the spirit box(I think it was the demon of a ouija board, no idea), knocking in walls. But besides that, not much more. So i decided to take out my digital camera and take pictures, because that's what they do in horror movies! The day after I wanted to show my boyfriend the pictures we took, I put the sim card into my laptop and the pictures are gone, those specific pictures, I check everything with the camera and it works perfectly fine. At this point im not a septic anymore, I had, what was to me atleast, definitive proof. We ghost hunt more times after that but nothing special happens. Besides once after we're picked up, the car stinks of cigarettes, which ive heard is a sign of demonic energy, when Noone in that car had smoked.

2 of my friends decide to make a ouija board, without the rest of us consent. They never use it but after that fhe friend group has a huge fallout and Noone is really friends anymore.

Now to the main problem, my house is definitely haunted. My bedroom is what used to be my parents bedroom and shit has gotten so much worse since I got it. I will hear knocking in the walls, what sounds like someone dragging a hammer across them from the insides of the walls. The sound of people walking up and down stairs, slamming doors. But what made me write this post is seeing a person walk behind me just to dissappear when I turned around, just 20 minutes ago, at 1am, while I was outside. I have kind of accepted that I have spirits around me, ive also made it very clear to them that I have gods protection. This just scared me so bad. Please drop any advice you have. I dont know much about this stuff so I might be wrong about something in this post but I really want all advice. Sorry for any bad English its not my first language.

Shadow People Shadow Figure in Front of Doorway Every Night

When I was a kid, I used to see a shadow figure every single night. It was unnaturally skinny and super tall, not at all human like. It wore clothes and had its face covered exactly like the grim reaper, but it had no weapon.

It was always standing there. Blocking the doorway, it never moved. I was too scared to leave because I would have to walk near it.

I really wish I could say this was just sleep hallucinations or sleep paralysis, but this would happen before I even went to sleep or was tired.

Eventually, I switched rooms in the house when I was a bit older, and never had any problems. Except one night when I went back into that room and fell asleep on a couch in there with the tv on I woke up in the middle of the night and seen it again. It really freaked me out seeing again after a few years of peace.

Then, when I would invite people over like friends and cousins, they would hate that room. I never told them the stories of that room but when we would go in it to watch tv or grab a board game they would say that it “felt off” or “haunted”. One time one of my parents told me they felt like they were being watched when they were facing away from the door (they had no idea about the shadow figure).

I’m an adult now, I have no sleep troubles or disorders but I still wonder what was going on in that room. Also, I was not on any medication at the time. Would this figure possibly originate from the land my house is on? Or do they follow certain people? It was really confusing but now that I’m older I wonder if it was trying to protect me somehow by keeping me in the room? If anyone has any similar experiences please let me know too.

Unexplained Odd experience last night in bed.

First time poster, had an odd experience last night I can't really explain. Pretty tame compared to most stories I'm sure.

We put our 5yr old boy to bed at about 7.30pm, and my partner was very tired so went to bed shortly afterwards.

I stayed up until around 10, was pretty tired, then went to bed.

I got in next to my partner and realised quite quickly that my head felt funny - quite 'swimmy' like if I've been really ill, though I didn't feel ill (and don't today).

I was laid on my back, and the ceiling seemed to be squirming in the dark and I was seeing odd shapes at the edges of my vision. I didn't think much of it - just that I was probably really over tired.

Then there was a little tiny ball that flashed right above me on the ceiling, illuminating a patch. For a second my sleepy brain thought it must be a smoke alarm with a low battery - it was that kind of flash - but I realised there's nothing there. I wondered if it was a high energy particle zipping through my retina or something.

We keep our bedroom door open so we can hear if our boy wakes up - he's got a bit of a cough at the moment - and in my peripheral vision I suddenly see a flash in the hallway. Although I can't see the ceiling, it was high up and seemed to be from there. I look into the hall, and about 5 seconds later it repeats.

Again I think it must be a smoke alarm or something, we've only been in the house about 3 weeks so we're still noticing things. But it doesn't repeat again.

The feeling that things are moving and swimmy is quite noticeable now, and feels like vertigo or moving on a boat when I close my eyes, and I feel I have to keep them open and shouldn't go to sleep or something bad will happen. I didn't feel any fear or unease, I just kinda felt I absolutely shouldn't keep my eyes closed.

Then the motion detector light on the upstairs landing turned on. It's been there since we moved in so my boy can go to the loo mow safely, and hasn't ever gone off by itself before.

I was pretty freaked out at this point, and my boy coughed a few times, so I went and checked on him and the house, but all was well.

After that the swimmy vertigo feeling subsided completely, and I felt I could go to sleep and we had a peaceful night.

I'd put it all down to my tired ass imagining things, but with it being the only time I've really felt like combined with the light sensing something, it seemed such a weird coincedence.

Experience I encountered an apparition in my dream just to wake up at 3 am.

So last night I went to sleep around 12 am, a pretty normal night. I remember my dream very clearly as I was conscious during it and could affect it. I was in my parents house, alone and it was dark. Not night time, just dark, like all the blinds are down and only a bit of sunlight goes through. There was an apparition of a woman hiding around the house from me. I remember I was going after her like I was hunting her. She would hide around objects and peek at me. When I would spot her, we would maintain eye contact for a couple seconds and then she would disappear. When I finally heard her tucked around a corner wall, I aggressively went after her, tried to pre fire throw a punch but she screamed really loud and she passed through me. That was the moment I woke up. The clock was at 3.12ish AM. Heart rate through the roof. I tried to go back to sleep instantly but when I closed my eyes I could see her face in the back of my eye lids. I doom scrolled a bit until my heart rate went down and then I slept fine.

No alcohol, drugs or even food was consumed long before I went to sleep. I want your guy's opinion on this since it happened to me for the first time.

NSFW My little brother used to see a crying man beside his bed every night. Any explanation?

First of all, I am not a superstitious person, and I don’t usually think too much about these kinds of things. But I’ve been thinking about something that happened when I was a kid for a while now, and no matter how I look at it, I can’t seem to come up with a reasonable explanation.

When my little brother and I were five and six years old, we shared a bedroom. My brother has autism and has always been a sensitive kid. When we were that young, he told me and my parents numerous times that an old man sat beside our bed every night, crying. He wasn’t joking or trying to scare me. Every time he brought it up, he seemed completely serious but not scared. He told me it happened almost every night. The old man would sit beside our bed and cry.

I slept in the same room as him, only a few feet away. I never saw anyone. Not once. I never heard anyone crying, either. There was never anything unusual about the room that I can remember. But my brother kept talking about him. Looking back, I can think of plenty of explanations. Nightmares, childhood imagination, sleep-related hallucinations, or something else entirely. But there’s one thing I’ve never been able to figure out. Why did he describe the same thing happening almost every night, with such absolute certainty and such specificity? And why was it always the same story: an old man crying beside our bed?

I don’t know if my brother was dreaming, hallucinating, or simply experiencing something I couldn’t understand. I just know he believed it was real, and I was sleeping right there beside him, and I never experienced it myself. Does anyone have any idea what this could have been? I’m genuinely curious whether there’s a psychological or sleep-related explanation for something like this, especially since we were so young and it's a pretty odd and specific thing to say as a kid. At least that's what I think. Maybe it's normal for kids around that age to have weird dreams or imaginations.

Question Could spirit boxes and unexplained smells be evidence of the paranormal?

I’ve been thinking about this lately, and I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts.
When it comes to spirit boxes, I understand that they scan radio frequencies and that people can interpret random sounds as words. But could there be cases where the responses are specific enough to warrant further investigation? At what point should we consider the possibility that something paranormal could be happening rather than automatically dismissing it as coincidence or auditory pareidolia?
I’m also curious about unexplained smells. People sometimes report suddenly smelling perfume, cigarette smoke, flowers, or a scent associated with a deceased loved one when there’s no obvious source. I find this interesting because smells can be incredibly distinct and recognizable. If someone smells something very specific when nothing around them seems to explain it, how can we determine whether it’s a neurological phenomenon, an environmental cause, or potentially something paranormal?
Before my anxiety about death started, I believed in the paranormal. It made me question a lot of things I previously believed in, but lately I’ve been opening myself up to the possibility again, including the idea that there could be life after death.
I understand that science looks for natural explanations, and I think that’s important. But I also wonder: How can we confidently rule out a paranormal explanation when we don’t necessarily know the cause of every individual experience? Does the lack of a confirmed scientific explanation mean something is impossible, or does it simply mean we haven’t figured it out yet?
I’d love to have a genuine discussion about this, including the scientific arguments, the limitations of the evidence, and whether anyone thinks these phenomena deserve more serious investigation.

Haunting My first incident in my house.

I live in a house that was built in 1912. I've lived there for over 4 years. I've never had any experience. In fact, I even had the house blessed shortly after I moved in, just for the hell of it.

My daily routine after I get home from work is enter through the back door that leads from the back porch into the kitchen. As I enter, to the right is the counter where I empty out my pockets. Keys go on a hook, work cell phone gets placed on the counter, business card holder and wallet on top of that and then my eye glass cleaner rag thrown on top. If I leave for work, all my stuff goes with me. If I'm going somewhere that isn't work, I usually just grab my wallet and keys.

This past Saturday, I had a group of friends for an afternoon gathering at my house. Nothing fancy, just some desserts and coffee. After they left and I cleaned up, I went to our local hockey game. It is about 9pm when I'm getting home. I hang my keys up and go to set my wallet on top of my work phone and it isn't there. I looked on the floor to see if it might have fallen. Not on the floor. I open the drawer underneath and check in there and nothing. I even picked up the glass cleaning rag and still no sign of it. I pull out my personal cell phone and call the work number to see if maybe when I had the gathering, someone accidently moved it. I don't hear it. I grab my keys and walk back out to my truck, thinking I might have left it in there and forgetting about it. I get there and check, even calling the phone again, and still nothing. I go back inside and I'm starting to freak out, not wanting to have to pay for a new phone. I thought I might have taken it to my bedroom, so I was going to go there next. I enter the kitchen and go to hang my keys back on the hook and I look at the counter and there is my cell phone. Right where I always put it. I stood there with my mouth wide open, staring at it for a good minute. I then dialed it again and it rang. I could clearly hear it.

This is the first incident that I've had in my house since I moved there.

Unexplained Who tf just knocked on my door😭

My mom and I were outside talking

We are about to go inside

As I grab the doorknob, someone knocks on the door. I feel the vibration of it. We both hear it. A fast but normal sounding knock. Shes not close enough to have done it. I peek into the window of the door as I finish opening the door, expecting to see my 8 year old brother around the corner wanting to show me something. But to my surprise, just the cat..

My mom freaked out and said this happened yesterday too! That a knock at the door interrupted her practicing piano..but no one was there!

She had my brother confirm that it happened around the same time, maybe later

She thinks it sounded like a childs knock. I don’t know what to think

What do you think?
