I just moved from New York,
I’ve been smoking weed since I was like 15.
I hate living in a city, so I moved to North Carolina.
I’m starting to think that was a bad decision because I smoke weed at least 3 to 4 times a day because I have severe anxiety. I do love weed on its own when I’m not having anxiety, but I have such bad anxiety that usually I buy vapes so I can smoke them anywhere. Getting down here I don’t know anybody I don’t have a person who can supply me vapes. And I unfortunately decided to rent an apartment in a completely smoke free place. I didn’t think much of it and so I started smoking on my balcony. Because I didn’t have any vapes all I had was actual loose weed. Then there was the notice of you’re not allowed to smoke weed on the property and that could void your lease. I stopped smoking weed at the apartment and I started doing blunt rides except with joints. I’m paranoid now that if a cop smells it, he’s gonna arrest me and I’ll go to fucking jail or something. If I end up having to actually quit weed, it’ll be a detriment to my mental health. I wish I was saying that in a false way but it’s actually something that I have to deal with my anxiety is from zero out of 10 it’s a fucking 10. I overthink things I get nervous a lot and I just freak out over the smallest things because my anxiety is just so fucking out of the roof. therapy doesn’t help I’ve done it for 10 years. It does not help me talking about shit. One day a week does not help me the rest of the days talking about shit does not help me. It just makes me think about it harder and then I’m up at fucking 4 o’clock in the morning just not able to sleep because I’m thinking about all this shit that I would not think about if it was high and relaxed and not anxiety induced.

And medication makes me vomit
The only thing that has ever helped me was weed and I’ve tried antidepressants galore. I’ve tried anti-anxieties email that the same as antidepressants. I’ve tried those as well and they don’t help.

I’m not asking for a solution. I’m just really pissed off.

I’m actually surprised that New York legalized it before here New York was ironclad about sending people to jail for having the smallest amount of weed on them and they legalized it

Today my coworker said “When women say no they really mean force me.”

Despite me not being a part of the conversation and generally avoiding this man because he is clearly an unsafe person I asked him if he really just said that.

All he could offer was that “it’s a joke.” Earlier in the day he said the woman raped in the Cornell 7 case was asking for it.

I feel so incredibly angry because it feels as though the Cornell 7 case has emboldened this man to openly express his predatory nature with the knowledge that there are plenty of men who may not commit acts of violence upon women, but also won’t rebuke others for doing so.

Unfortunately this was in a mixed gender environment and not a single man present said a word.

I’m furious and devastated.

I've just about had the last straw with Christianity. If God is a benevolent being - provided that He really exists - then why did He allow the 9/11 attacks to happen? Why did He allow the 2008 financial crisis to happen along with the recent inflation crises? Why did He allow men like Trump, Putin and Netanyahu to take power and get away with the evil things they get away with? Why does He sit idly by while I struggle to find a great-paying job despite my qualifications, while a handful of billionaires fiddle as people like me struggle with the basic necessities? Ever since I completed these free computer science courses last year and got CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+ certifications, I've been unsuccessfully applying for jobs even though the agency that administered the courses in the first place promised that I would have a job after graduating the courses. Not even help revising my resume or assistance from a local agency that assists autistic people with job placement has done anything. I just recently got a job, but had to turn it down when I found it was a fuckin' telemarketer job. I know that Friday was my last session with my therapist since she left the practice so it’s not like we could really work on much as far as grief management goes. But I didn’t like her response when I told her I feel like on my own I still need to process the losses I’ve had and that I don’t want to carry baggage into new relationships whether it be professionally/romantically, ect.

That I declined my newly assigned therapist at her practice since I found a therapist that’s experienced in grief management. Plus I wanted a say in my own care since the other therapist was only an associate.

Her response was that it makes sense I need help from another therapist with grief but it’s important for me to sit with the discomfort. Thing is I’m tired of doing that and it’s not productive. It’s like well give me ways to better deal with said discomfort. I know grief management isn’t something she specializes in but I had no idea I’d go through so much in such a short time and she was the only therapist that fit my schedule.

We are not even two weeks into my brother’s school year and he already caught an illness from school he possibly has strep throat, who brings their kid to school sick especially with contagious illnesses and my mom is immunocompromised and I am germophobic as well so that’s just worse, my mom catches almost every contagious illness that comes into the house and she is already dealing with a stye that turned into a painful infection that almost gave her brain damage, if she didn’t go to the doctor when she did she could’ve died I forgot what the infection was called though I think it was something like orbital cellulitis but again I’m not sure.

My allergies have been bothering me a lot recently making me feel like I’m catching a cold even if I’m not with bodyaches, sinus issues, sneezing and sniffling a lot and i’d rather not catch strep throat from my brother on top of it and my brother spends a lot of time in my mom‘s room watching TV and stuff and I spend a lot of time in the living room and so i’m a bit worried about Mom catching strep throat as well.

I need to get this off my chest because no one has ever acknowledged this before among all of reddit's other sins. I can't stand the carefree attitude much of this website has about drugs, as if they’re not dangerous at all, and I’ve barely seen anyone condemn it. It shocks me how posts/comments unironically talk about how awesome crack and heroin are, or that you should do coke to treat depression getting hundreds to thousands of upvotes and no comments disagreeing or suggesting caution. Genuinely, what the fuck? I know that Reddit on average has a lot of subcultures and rebels and that may play a part, and that it’s certainly not the only fringe belief Reddit strongly holds. But you people talk yourself up as smarter than the normies while encouraging potentially life-ruining decisions and downplaying their consequences. It’s really sad how many communities here and their non-mainstream beliefs start out noble and logical before getting increasingly warped into an extremist strawman parody of themselves.

Obviously, people don’t seem to agree with that. And people are the worst part about all of this. I’m particularly talking about drug culture, and if you’re part of it, I want you to know that you’re all sheep. I don’t care what niche little subculture you’re in, you’re just like all those normies too. You can’t call yourself rebellious if you still give in to mainstream habits and vices. You’re all part of the one same script of life that Western society forced in our heads to follow. When you’re a kid, obey your parents, get good grades in school, shut up, sit down, listen to the adults. When you turn 18, run free, be everything your parents aren’t, get wasted, be stupid for stupidity’s sake, sleep with everyone you know, go to college, grind to get a job. When you hit 30, settle down, get married, have kids, become a workaholic or a housewife too, and painfully abandon the party life completely. And then you retire and eventually die at some point, but never when you’re being an overgrown teenager breaking all the rules. You are not rebelling against society or the man, you are going along with the herd and making the establishment stronger. The life you pride yourself on living is at best doing nothing to make society more equal. You are just living for yourself and yourself only, just like everyone else is. Partying is bread and circuses.

And not only are you people hypocrites, but you’re also unbelievably deluded and obnoxious. I can’t stand all the inexplicable pride around being a junkie and the talk about how drugs are life and everything, and when I decline or ask you to shut up about it, you act like toxic K-Pop fans when someone doesn’t like their favorite group. You are not smart, you are an idiot for choosing this lifestyle, and you are weak-willed for taking the way and a slave to your senses. Your complete disregard of risks is amazing. I’m sure if cyanide got you high, a lot of you would do it anyway. I’ve worked with her since APRIL and today is our 2nd to last session since she’s leaving. I wonder where tf she’s been because I told her several times that the guy I used to see several months ago was the first time I ever had sex with ANYONE and he led me on. I (24F) am generally a calm person irl, albeit bitter and easily frustrated. I don’t swear and I’m usually the one diffusing tense situations. But over the past couple years I’ve had a lot of dreams where I am just absolutely hysterical, I just lash out at the person who did me or someone else wrong in my dream. I’ve never had a situation like that irl that I can recall.

About 7 weeks ago my partner and I adopted a Bernese mountain dog puppy. He’s 17 weeks old now, and the past 2 weeks he’s been driving me insane because he is significantly regressing in his potty training and becoming more aggressive during play. My arms and legs are covered in bruises and scratches. I’m definitely feeling overwhelmed, especially because puppies are supposed to get easier to live with, not harder. Anyway, today my puppy had 3 accidents, attacked me 3 times during play or while walking and my partner once, ripping both of our shirts with his teeth, and just insisting on eating dirt outside and not peeing outside for 20 minutes just to have an accident inside. Maybe normal puppy stuff but I’m just at my breaking point because my whole life is just taking care of this dog who just constantly hurts me and looks me in the eyes when he’s chewing on the stuff he knows he shouldn’t have. Then growls, lunges, and bites me and grips my hand when I try to take it back. Anyway, last time he attacked my partner I smacked him and yelled “I will hurt you”. Of course I shouldn’t have said that, but I’m just so fed up that even my regrets about my actions and thoughts haven’t resolved the angry feeling in my chest. I mostly feel bad because my partner has been really sad after I said that but he doesn’t want to talk about it.

I’m just having trouble resolving this feeling, because cognitively I know that it’s wrong to lash out, and I would never intend or wish to cause my puppy any pain, but it’s so frustrating not having control and just having to accept that he can cause me pain all day long and not be willing to accept redirection and obviously ignore my commands, so it feels like the only thing I can do is act out hysterically.

Our current method of resolving this play aggression is trying to teach him “shh” and forced time outs/forced naps, but it usually feels reactive (after he attacks) instead of proactive.

I (f19) have multiple older brothers. The ones relevant to this story are T (29), F (24?) And G (23).

F molested me from me being 6 to me being around 10 or 11. I only told my mum and dad (he and I share a dad, but have different mums) when I was older because I didn't know how to explain it and I was a scared kid. Something in the news came up that my mum told me about and I said 'oh F did that to me'. She still doesn't know everything because she's always said 'if you want to tell me everything, I will listen, but I will then go and murder him.' So I don't really think telling her the details (she does know how far it went, but not specific instances where it happened in front of people, etc) is a good idea.

I had my mum tell my dad (they've been divorced since I was 8) because I was scared to tell him what his son had done to me. He has never once said anything to me. He rarely speaks to F but hasn't ever brought it up to him either.

G found out through my mum too because we are full siblings and I wanted her to tell him. He is the only person to ask me anything. He hasn't asked full questions, just the ages and how far it went. His girlfriend has talked to me more about it because she has a similar trauma, but even then she hasn't actually said much besides 'if you need to talk, you can come to me" which is sweet but we rarely see each other anyway and she tells everything to my brother.

T only found out a few months ago because he had a massive fall out with our dad (again, share a dad but he has a different mum to both G and I, and F) and F because F had accused him of stealing. My mum told T without my knowledge but I was honestly okay with it because i wanted him to know, and he needed to know because he has a son who has been babysat by F multiple times because my dad has said he's trustworthy (i don't agree with my dad allowing this but I don't live at their house so I didn't get a say). T is FURIOUS at my dad for letting F around his kid without any warning, he is not mad at me because he understands that I'm young and was scared to break the family up more than it already is. But T has only ever asked my mum questions about it, even though I've told him he can talk to me about it if he wants to.

My mum dropped T off at his job today as he will be working away from a few months. On the 3-4 hours drive, T asked my mum multiple questions about what happened, when, how i got through it, if it is linked to the university course I do (i do criminology, and i focus on sex crimes), etc.

I'm angry because no one ever asks me. I'm okay with questions when it's appropriate. I get i asked mum to tell people for me, but its MY trauma. They ask questions my mum doesn't know the answer to, and yet they don't ask me when she tells them 'i don't know you will have to ask her yourself'.

I'm so angry. It's as if my dad doesn't care about me more than F, and my other brothers are probably scared to say it to me because I might get emotional but I NEED to talk about it. I'm so sick of having visions and flashbacks and not being able to talk to someone about them because it's the parts they don't know about. BUT THEY DONT ASK. WHY DO THEY NOT ASK? I'm so tired of carrying the weight of this. He gets off scott-free and I'm stuck with the trauma that my brother did all these things for me.

Also I did go to therapy for this but they stopped it after 6 weeks, saying I wasn't traumatised enough and that 'it wasn't r@p3 so it isn't a big trauma anyway'

I just met a scab on the human race. For example, no matter how many times you try and pick, and pick, and pick on the little ugly ass bark textured brown turd of a scab, it never comes off. and when you try to pick, and pick, and pick, you end up hurting the skin around it more so the scab spreads like a fucking virus because someone like that person definitely could spread some sorta disease. I didn't even know this form of human could exist until i met one of them earlier and it is one of the most disgusting things I ever had a chance to lay my eyes on. I swear wiping this breed of human off the earth could do us a huge favor. I would genuinely choose a dead, split in half roach over the sad excuse of a human i just met. I’d rather take a point blank to the head than talk to that thing again.

Small rant post, in the highway when I was driving I was next to a persons car that was blinking & it was already too late to move back for them. But then that person gave me the meanest death stare ever. I just wanted to meet that guy & say “What’s the matter with you? Calm down.”
