I went out to have a smoke and leaned on the railing like I have been for years and the structural paint finally gave way. Glad I didnt land on the jagged upright piece. Ive complained several times about the rust to management before. I dont know how to go about sueing them or if its even worth it atp.

Title: A friend gave me his leaking espresso machine. I opened the brew unit and found live worms inside.

He’d already bought a replacement, so I figured I’d try cleaning and fixing this Café Affetto.

While cleaning the removable brew unit, I took out the screws holding its gear cover. Underneath were tiny moving worms among the plastic gears and what looks like white lubricant.

This compartment was covered and screwed together. I don’t know what these are, how they got inside, or how long they’ve been there.

I was expecting a worn seal. I was not expecting tenants.

The HSE is the public health service of Ireland. It's one of the worst in Europe, especially for a trans woman like myself. I have been disabled since 2023. Three years later I still don't have a working, official diagnosis or therapy other than generic placeholders "she's a kind of sick we don't understand". I am queuing for several public services. Rather than sending me appointment letters, several of these services keep sending me letters demanding - not asking - that I confirm that I still need their services, threatening to remove my name from their lists should I not reply according to their wish of the week. They send these letters at the last minute, often resulting in me having to call in late and hope they have not scrapped my name off their list after waits often longer than one and a half years.

The front of the letter above asked, I kid you not, that I contact them between 9 and 3 on last Tuesday ONLY (like that, with ONLY written in all caps). I got the letter on Wednesday. I've called the office three times since and I still have to speak to a single human being.

he hit it pretty hard and bent up the gate quite significantly, everyone that lives here hates these gates anyways because they have never worked, have been inconsistent, and it was just a matter of time before they get either torn down entirely or replaced with something else, guess this is a good excuse for something to change.

considering there's scrapes on both sides, I assume the gate closed on him, but I really don't know. the gate has been left open for weeks now.

Building maintenance said they've never seen this happen, definitely some Final Destination stuff. Gouged a 4.25 inch deep slash in the wall

Havent tried fixing it yet, any suggestions?

Can I buy some kind of replacement piece or do I need to buy a whole new microwave now 😮‍💨

Got back from vacation today, picked up the dogs from the kennel. They returned one dog’s extra food. I gave them exactly enough baggies for the amount of time they’d be there. So someone forgot to feed her.

Last time we boarded them I did the same thing and they ran out of her food two meals early.

So someone doesn’t understand one bag = one meal I guess.

Edit: I wasn’t gonna do this but I have received so many “why didn’t you ask” comments. I asked. The teenage employee didn’t know. Pushing for more information would have been a waste of time. The report cards said she was eating fine. So either they gave her another dogs food, or they accidentally skipped feeding her. I have to acknowledge that it’s possible she just didn’t eat (I know my dog, she never doesnt eat) or that I did indeed give an extra bag somehow in spite of being careful and writing the day and AM / PM on each bag.

It’s an irrelevant detail. But yes I asked and the employee didn’t know why. These places are staffed by teenagers.
