News Swagelok - RTO five days a week

I doubt that there will actually be any news released about this but Swagelok is implementing a RTO, five days a week starting this month. Less than a two weeks notice to those who have been working remote/hybrid for years.

They also waited until the month after their annual Associate survey to announce it.

FYI to anyone thinking of applying there for any office roles.

Housing/Apartments Help. Basically homeless.

You would think in a city this size there would be more help for people facing homelessness. I have called every number that 211 gave me, did assessment over the phone on Monday and haven't heard back from anyone. I've had many people (who have never been homeless) tell me places can provide hotel vouchers for a few days to people in need but I can't for the life of me find out if this is real or who to call. Does anyone have any information about this?

Just found out I'm like 4 weeks pregnant and I would really like to stay with my boyfriend if at all possible.

I have been out of work since getting into a car accident but I have a few job opportunities coming up, it's just close to impossible to go to a new job without being able to shower or have a place to use the restroom. Plus I have to get surgery beginning of November so I would have to miss at least a week of work and not a lot of places want to give someone a job when they immediately need time off. We have no where to sleep tonight and have no money. If anyone has any resources other than 211, Eden, pretty much anything on a Google search because I have called every number I could find online and there is no immediate help available. Last night it was raining and its about to be winter, I'm terrified right now.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to comment or message me.

I would even be cool with a room to sleep in at someone's house for a night or two. We are quiet. We keep to ourselves. We are clean freaks and just want a bed to rest our heads and a place to shower. If I can start working, I will get a motel room until we can find a more permanent solution. Thanks again.

Question Canadian incoming law student: Can I live in CLE without a car?

I’ll spare you the boring details but I’m a 23yo guy moving to Cleveland to go to Cleveland State for law school next August coming from Ontario, and was just curious how liveable Cleveland is without a car? Im not entirely sure where I’ll be living yet but I’m trying to cut costs as much as possible considering this is an expensive time in my life lol . Hopefully I won’t have too much of a hard time making some friends without one

How are Cuyahoga County property owners feeling about issues 10 & 11 on the ballot?

Issue 10)

A "yes" vote supports levying a millage at a rate of $79 per $100,000 of assessed property value for 10 years to fund the operation of community programs and services authorized by county boards of developmental disabilities.

Issue 11)

A "yes" vote supports levying a millage at a rate of $196 for each $100,000 of assessed property value for 10 years to fund health and human services.

Question Building Inspector Door tag

I was left a blank pink door hanger from a building inspector with a business card, it’s not a violation just a notice. Are these usually in response to complaints? Or do they just do it randomly? I recently took down part of my deck but I am not building any structures. Ive left a message on the number just waiting to hear back.

The latest marine forecast from the National Weather Service shows wave heights topping 15 feet on Lake Erie, and 20 feet on Lake Huron. Waves are expected to reach 25 feet on Lake Superior.

However, the largest waves are expected in southern Lake Michigan with top wave heights up to 30 feet!

Here is the current marine forecast from the National Weather Service…”Northwest gales to 45 kt. Showers. Waves 15 to 20 ft occasionally to 26 ft building to 18 to 23 ft occasionally to 30 ft.”

Impressive!

Politics BERNIE MORENO, EPSTEIN CLASS HYPOCRITE: Protest outside a fundraiser for Mike Gallagher in Lakewood, Ohio

Post image
185 Upvotes

Sen. Bernie Moreno called on Max Miller to resign over abuse allegations from his ex-wife, then turned around and headlined a fundraiser today for Cuyahoga County Councilman Mike Gallagher at Summer Place in Lakewood, co-hosted by Tony and Kristine George. Their son Bobby George pleaded guilty last November to attempted strangulation of a woman and got five years of probation and no jail time, after original charges that included attempted murder, kidnapping, and rape. The special prosecutor said afterward, "I believe that he is a man who abuses women."

When it's his daughter, he cares. When it's someone else's, it's a fundraiser.

Question Relocating to Cleveland area for work and starting a family - best suburb to live?

Hi everyone! My husband (30M) and I (29F) may be relocating to the Cleveland area if he receives a promotion. His work location would be either near North Ridgeville or Kent, depending on where they decide to place him.

We’re starting to explore different suburbs and would love recommendations on the best areas to raise a family while still finding a reasonably priced home. Ideally, we’d love to live somewhere with a cute downtown area, local restaurants and shops, and plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy.

We’ve been looking into Strongsville and Streetsboro so far, but we’re definitely open to other suggestions. We’d love to hear about your experiences living in these areas or any other suburbs you would recommend.

Thank you so much!

Recommendations Pottery Studio Reccomendations?

Looking to make some things out of clay & glaze pottery. (Not paint pre-made things like Paint-a-penguine).

Does anyone have some studio reccomendations where you can go in and have open studio time to make? Maybe have classes where you make a mug on a wheel or vase kind of thing? A good atmosphere & friendly people is a big bonus!

Im south of cleveland, so stuff in that direction would be ideal. Though willing to travel for a wonderful place.
