An Ohio appellate court has ruled that the EdChoice voucher program, which uses taxpayer dollars to fund private school tuition, is unconstitutional. The program will still be able to exist, as the judges expect the state to appeal.

Inside the Trump rally on Monday at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. It was brutal!

Local TV (WFMJ 21 News) reported that roughly a quarter of the seats were tarped off, and only about two-thirds of the rest ever filled. Two-thirds of three-quarters is half.
For scale, the Covelli Centre seats about 5,700 for hockey. Even the GOP judge candidate they interviewed said turnout "could have been a little better."
We were out front with about 500 protesters, and didn't see many people walking in. The clip confirms what we suspected.
Guessing the ketchup was flying somewhere on Air Force One later that night, and the Human Binky had her work cut out for her cleaning up the other mess.
Trump isn't on the ballot in November, but Trumpism sure is. Early voting in Ohio is open now through November 1st. Vote early and in person if you can, and bring a friend or family member. The sooner the better, because anything can happen: illness, car trouble, a family emergency, or this administration pulling a fast one on DEMOCRACY.
Ohio - show up, vote these mfrs out for good!

Are you showing up?
Hey NRA members. You going to show up to my farm when the republican government allows eminent domain to take my farm and give it to a data center? Because this scenario is very likely due to our Republican representatives.

Republicans have had nearly 14 years of both legislative and executive control of Ohio. What has that done for you and your community?

Rubber City Resistance in Akron, Ohio last night, greeting Swampy
Two events, two protests, one afternoon, lots of rich con men.
While we were in Lakewood yesterday greeting Senator Bernie Moreno at the fundraiser he headlined with Bobby George's parents, our sister group Rubber City Resistance was in Akron giving Vivek Ramaswamy a proper welcome at his event.
Quick refresher on Lakewood: Moreno publicly told Max Miller to resign over the abuse allegations from Miller's ex-wife. Then he turned around and co-hosted a fundraiser with the parents of Bobby George, who pleaded guilty last year to attempted strangulation after originally facing nine felony counts, including attempted murder and kidnapping. Rules for thee.
Over in Akron, Rubber City Resistance summed up Vivek's whole campaign in six words: VIVEK, TRUMP, ELON. THREE RICH CON MEN. Vivek co-led DOGE with Elon before bailing to run for governor, and he's spent this race chasing Trump's endorsement instead of answering for anything. The same guy still hasn't called on Rodney Creech to step down. He just quietly scrubbed their photo together.
Huge thanks to Rubber City Resistance for holding it down in Summit County. Northeast Ohio Visibility Brigades showed up in two places at once.

Trump’s Policies Have Increased the Costs of Every Income Group Except the 1%
This is happening because, for most Americans, any tax cut they received under Trump’s 2025 tax law (OBBBA) is more than offset by the price increases and, in many cases, by the loss of the expanded health care tax credit. The exception is the richest 1 percent of Americans, who benefit overall.
New Tax Policies Enacted as Part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA)
- While proponents of OBBBA often describe certain portions of the law that they argue benefit the middle class (such as tax breaks for tips and overtime) these provisions are a very small portion of the overall legislation which overwhelmingly benefits high-income people and corporations.
- Since the 2025 law was enacted, enormous profitable corporations like Meta, Amazon, Google, Tesla, and many others have paid extremely low effective tax rates (from 0 percent to 8 percent) in large part due to OBBBA.
- Tax breaks provided under OBBBA are currently subsidizing AI data centers that are opposed by the vast majority of Americans.
The Republican Congress’ Decision to End the Enhanced Premium Tax Credit (EPTC)
- The EPTC was an expanded version of an existing tax credit that helps individuals pay premiums on health insurance they obtain through the Affordable Care Act Marketplace. The EPTC was enacted in 2021 and the next year it was extended through 2025. Republicans in Congress chose to not extend it even as they extended the provisions of the Trump tax cuts from his first term.
- The number of people enrolled in Affordable Care Act marketplaces dropped by 3 million people since the credit expired, and premiums surged for many who remained enrolled.
Trump’s Price-Increasing Policies
The price increases included in this analysis consist of the difference between what observed inflation has been so far in Trump’s second term and what the Congressional Budget Office projected it would be shortly before the term began.
There are at least three types of policies that largely explain this additional inflation Americans have experienced since Trump returned to the White House.
- Trump’s tariffs, which are taxes on imports. In theory, tariffs could be a small part of a broader set of tools used to address narrow problems in trade policy, but that is far from how the Trump administration is using tariffs. While President Trump claims that foreigners pay the tariffs, the claim is not taken seriously by independent analysts. Even U.S. corporations admit Americans are paying them.
- Trump’s war in Iran, which has caused fuel prices to surge. The increased gas and diesel prices caused by the war have cost Americans over $100 billion so far.
- Trump’s immigration policies. The loss of foreign-born workers has caused supply problems in key industries such as agriculture and construction. This has led to higher prices for food, housing, and other goods and services.

OMG, I'm dry heaving right now, knowing that this bile works....

Welp, that didn’t take long at all
I figured prices would start heading up back up after the gas tax was temporarily halted. This was in Westlake.
Edit: I had to drive back through here about an hour ago. The BP across the street is also $4.19. Checked gas buddy right after I posted this originally. The price yesterday was $3.79.

I found an abandoned beagle in Amish country…
I’m fostering for now, he has severe separation anxiety which is crazy because he is not trained. I bought him to work and the little dork decided to run after a groundhog and cried because he was too far away from me. When I went to retrieve him, he melted in my arms.
I was not aware of the puppy mill issue in Ohio, has anyone else recused or adopted from Amish breeders? What was your experience? TIA!

Ohio conservatives: before you vote straight-R, do one thing for yourself
Ohio's GOP has held a supermajority in the legislature for 15 years. Democrats literally have zero power in this state. So when you look around at high property taxes, schools getting squeezed, healthcare costs, data centers popping up in your backyard, that's not "the other side" doing that. The other side hasn't had a vote that matters in 15 years.
I'm not asking you to vote Democrat. I'm asking you to stop voting on the letter next to the name.
Google your candidates. Read the actual platforms. Then ask one question:
Is this person trying to make my life better or someone else's life worse?
- Do they have a clear plan for better schools, lower property taxes, affordable healthcare, and jobs that pay enough to live on, that's someone working for you.
- If the whole platform is immigrants, minorities, and culture war enemies, that's someone with nothing for you. No real plan for your bills, your kids' schools, your hospital. Just fear to win your vote and keep their seat.
If it's the second one, they're telling you something loud and clear: they have nothing for YOU. No plan for your taxes, your schools, your hospital bills. Just fear and outrage to get your vote so they can stay in power. Where there is no competition, there is no incentive to do better for the people, which is exactly what Ohio politicians face.
You're not dumb. Nobody fooled you because you're stupid they fooled you because they know what makes you angry, and anger is easier than results.
But 15 years of total control and your property taxes are still going up? At some point the anger is the product they're selling, and you're the customer.
Look at the candidates. Compare the actual plans not just talking points.
Vote for whoever will actually do something for your family, whichever party they're in.

Just be aware: 3rd party with funding from MAGA
This flyer was paid for by a MAGA aligned PAC. Obviously a dirty trick that the actual candidate did not participate in. This is an update post.
